Dead Rented... and Returned
So on Saturday I went to my local video store to get some movies, I browsed through the game section to discover "Dead Rising" I had not played it yet and considered the good things I had heard about it before taking the plunge and renting my first survival horror game.
I got home and popped the disc into my 360, upon getting through the seemingly never ending cut scene's I got to move my character around, and was disturbed by the tiny little font that I was somehow suppose to be able to read without going blind. So with barely any idea what I was doing out I struck out, to confront hordes of terrifying zombies. I saved my game in the security room and went out into the entrance plaza. I watched more never ending cut scenes before finally... GASP! Being allowed to kill zombies FUN! Fun,except when I died: Normally I don't mind dying in a game, except when it happens again... and again... and again, then I start to get a little annoyed. Finally I got the trick of it and was able to survive more then five minutes in the game. And let me tell you it can be a blast killing zombies with sports equipment. Afterabout four hours of playing I walked out into Leisure Park to go save some helpless survivor from their zombie attackers, only to find that some psychotic convicts were driving a jeep around killinganything that moved. After dying at their hands a couple of times I learnedto avoid them and the game progressed happily... Until I got tired of being shot dead by the punks every time Itried to save someone's neck. So I armed myself with a SMG anda whole bunch of Health items andheaded off to kill me some convicts. And kill them Idid in a very showy way too: I took out the gunner first and once he was dead I waited for the jeep to run itself into a tree before quickly snatching up the M60with which I dispatched the other two morons. Elated that I had eliminated the pests I left to save and reequip before I attempted to savesome Japanese dudes, but the moment I set footin Leisure Park Iknew that I was in for a major disappointment, those three jackasses were still alive! Thatdid it for me!After putting up with unreadable texts constant death andoverpowered Bose's there was no way I was going to put up with re spawning enemies like that... I need to feel like I accomplished something when I play a game so I knew then that this game was not for me
Dead Rising will notrise again on my 360 let me tell you that.
