Let's start with what I lost thispast Spring:

Veronica Mars, never again will I be completely obsessed with a show like this one (okay, maybe not never, but I'm sure not this season).

Jericho and Lost arepostponed until winter, and even then Jericho will be as good as gone.

The C lass (which I can't write correctly here, stupid) was finally a great comedy to catch my eye, and well...

Joan of Arcadia, yes it was years ago, but I am still hargoring a lot of resentment towards CBS, also the network behind the ax of The C lass and Veronica Mars, and the slow chainsaw hacks of Jericho.

    What's new???

A comedy ripped from comercial cavemen, a vampire detective (damn CBS for taking the concept of 'Angel' and spitting on it with this joke), a robot bad/good girl (I've seen clips, I'll pass), not one but two shows trying to be Sex and the City, which was never in my radar, and countless others that when given first look, seem to be invisible.

I am still waiting for the magazines to come out with their 200+ shows on this Fall Season, which scares me. It's September, new shows are just around the corner, and I don't have anything new that appeals to me, and no one seems to be flaunting their shows except CBS's Big Bang Theory and I am not wasting another year on a show that is likely to get the rug pulled from beneath me.

And what remains, to many law procedurals, and criminal sciences, etc, nothing much that stands out remotely.

Ok, perhaps I'm being a little harsh, but I am excited about very little this year, but here's what I am a tinge excited about:

Nip/Tuck: It's back, but last season ended so great, I kind of don't see a reason to continue, but I'm sure they'll get me to rethink my mind.

Heroes: Five words: Kristen Bell for 13 episodes (at least); okay, that, and I cannot wait to figure out who survived and who died.

Desperate Housewives: Not too excited, but I am intrigued to see how far Bree's family crosses over to disturbing, and to see if Edie killed herself, I have mixed emotions on this.

And that might just be it, kind of sad, huh!

Now shows that may get a look see:

Smallville and Supernatural and ER: I missed last season though! And Supergirl, that's super lame!

Ugly Betty: I don't remember why I like it and what was all the finale plot twists. Except Betty doesn't get the boy, which is highly frustrating.

Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice: I could care less, but I'll be married by then, and my wife will.

Gossip Girl: Is Kristen Bell doing voice-overs enough to entice me, well, let's see what it's up against first.

Biggest Loser and Amazing Race: How many is too many? I may skip out on the Race, I can never get into the newbies, and Biggest Loser, I just enjoy watching the transformation, but they're strctching it to 90 minutes!

So that's it. Disagree, well, I don't really care, but feel free to comment. Maybe, just maybe, you can change my mind.

I won't hide my sadness in any longer. I have at this point decided that Veronica Mars will not be coming back to TV anytime. Though I am still hoping for a movie to wrap up loose ends, even though great shows like Joan of Arcadia did not get that chance.

I am not sure whether I will punish CW for dropping Veronica Mars while she was hot, or for being to cheap to beg for the Gilmore Girls to return. Perhaps the true punishment should be given to CBS who had the final turn down of Veronica Mars. Damn you, Leslie Moonves. Jericho barely escaped the torture and The Class did not even get a chance to spread its teachings. Yet we are suppose to enjoy 3 versions of CSI and 5 others that seem quite similar. I'd rather not. If it weren't for Big Brother, I would stop watching CBS altogether. I would even give up on Amazing Race because I can no longer get intrigued by a show where I could be watching for a whole hour only to find out that nobody was going home!

In wrap-up, I am still very obsessed with Veronica Mars, and will be quoting it for years to come. Thank you Rob Thomas for sharing your wit. Though, I doubt I will watch Mis/Guided because Kristen Bell made Veronica Mars work. And no this is not a good thing for Gossip Girl on CW which gave her Kristen the job of voice-over.

I'll be back with either obsessive plots for Big Brother or for my 'excitement' for fall tv. Not that there is really much to be excited about.

The only new show that I watched this season that has gotten cancelled (so far) is Smith.  But I think I might have given up on it before the network did.  Knock on wood.

1.)  The best new show of the season is by no suprise: Heroes.  If someone told me they were going to make an X-Men live tv series, I'd be there.  So by no suprise I decided to watch this show.  What annoys me:  how much it is compared to Lost.  All the online clues, and how viewers claim it is less confusing than Lost, even though Heroes has yet to solve anything for me.  I still love both shows, I just get sick of the comparisons.

2.) The Class is next, which also explains why I 'knocked' on wood earlier because this is the only new show I am watching that is still awaiting it's destiny.  But I love this show, it feels the void that Friends left, and I love the relationship between Ritter and Caplan.  Hoping that goes farther, that is if the show can make it!

3.) Ugly Betty is a fun show.  It isn't a strong show, so I do not expect it to last to entirely long, but I think I'll enjoy it while it's around or at least until this season's finale.

4.) 1 vs. 100 is a great show.  How NBC found another game show that works, I may never know, but this show looks like a lot of fun.  And who can complain about Bob Saget as a host.  Now if only other networks would take notice and not make pointless and retarded game shows like the one with Shatner hosting!

5.) Lastly is Jericho.  This show I have actually only been listening to in the background as of lately so it has not recieved the full attention I am sure it deserves.  It has been an intriguing series of events on this show anyways.  It is also becoming Lost-like with it's focusing on one character for a whole episode.  Can't complain because it's worked on me.

Before the CW shouted to the rooftops what shows it would have, I made my own little hopeful list of shows that would continue.  From first to last they were :  Smallville, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, Beauty and the Geek, America's Next Top Model, and Charmed.

Out of all of these shows, I only watch one religiously: Veronica Mars. Things I could do without: changing the theme song  (Yes, I am one of many that complain and saw no point in them changig it.).  That's pretty much it.  If I could get one thing from this show it would be for Logan and Veronica to stay apart!!  Piz would make a much better boyfriend, and I am sick of Logan somehow always redeeming himself.  I declare that he's the rapist!

Shows I sort-of-ish watch: Smallville and Supernatural.  First, Smallville, I'm just sick of this whole Lana & Lex crap, and how Clark is constantly looking  like the problem around Lana.  This show has jumped the shark for me and needs to change or just go away.  And no green 'tights' people will keep me around.   Second, Supernatural has become pointless.  There is this long on-going plot that makes less sense than Lost's plot.  The difference:  Lost has a thick and interesting plot, Supernatural has lost it's plot in a cloud of fog.  How many times can I watch almost the same thing happen week-to-week?

Shows I rarely watch and why:

    1) Gilmore Girls :  This was just a show my fiancee would have been happy for it's return.  Not that I won't catch up on DVD someday.

    2) America's Next Top Model : I guess I'll just have to catch the Vh1 marathon.

    3) Charmed and Beauty & the Geek : Cancelled, and Still to Come, maybe.

Sorry, CW.  Just keep Veronica Mars around and I'll stay by your side.

These are in order, starting with the most Must-See:

1.)  Big Brother: All Stars!  NBC  This has to be on top because it is so addicting.  I always say I could easily not watch it and be fine, but the moment I tune in to this show, I have to be an avid watcher.  And I'm an impatient man so I get updates whenever I can at jokersupdates.com .  Who I'm rooting for: Nakomis, followed by the 'soon-to-be-leaving' Allison, Erika.  Who I want to see lose like they did in seasons past: Kaysar, Janelle, Howie, Jase (although he seems to be somewhat different, we'll see if he attacks Nakomis first).

2.) Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List BRAVO  This show is so funny.  Alright, technically, Kathy is so funny, but whatever.  Anytime you can see her do little bits of stand-up is perfect.  Also not to be missed are her specials also on Bravo: Strong Black Woman, Kathy Griffin is not Nicole Kidman, and Allegedly.  All I need is a show with Kathy and Wanda Sykes and good writing, and I just might be the happiest man on earth.

3.) Real World / Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat MTV  This game is always fun.  I just enjoy watching how long Wes can survive being voted in the 'Loser's Competition'.  Then of course there's Coral and her partner who seem dominant beyond belief (and how her partner dances around circles to not discuss her breast size when she comes out and talks about them).  Now we have Tonya flipping out, shocker, and Katie and Tina (who I love for the honest b**** that she is) are still around to stir the drama pot.

4.) Kyle XY  ABC Family, ABC?  This is the most interesting NEW show.  So far, I have only seen the premiere, but let's face it, it was a really good premiere.  I am very intrigued to watch Kyle develop as a normal human being and see what secrets are in store.  My hope is that, if renewed, this show sticks to the summer as I do not have time for more TV shows in the regular viewing season.

5.) Blade : The Series  SPIKE First thing one should expect is that this is not going to be as good as the movies.  That's a given.  But due to my obsession with vampirism (I am slowly in the process of writing my own Blade-like trilogy) I will still watch it nonetheless.  One complaint: the female 'lead' just doesn't strike me as hot enough for the job.  If you look at other vampire movies or shows, those roles are usually taken by more beautiful women.  Does that make the show any less valuable?  No, but I am still allotted a complaint here or there.

Well, this was the first Oscar award show that I actually watched live, and could therefore not fast-forward as I usually would. It was kind of a let-down. I should first explain that the only major award nominated movie I had seen at the time was Crash. (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, War of the Worlds do not count as they weren't in any HUGE awards.) Here's what I think of Crash:
I rent movies from Netflix, where I also rate movies so they can recommend me movies. I would rate Crash a 2, as in Did Not Like, since 3 would be Did Like. I'm sorry but Crash was a bit too over the top, Ludacris especially. No one I have ever met is that racist, or if they are, they happen to be at least 60 and were raised to think the way they do. If I'm expected to believe what this story brings, then it better have a better writer.

Actor: Now that I've complained about the movie, let's move onto the second biggest disappointment. Before seeing the awards show, I was more than happy to see Capote, but then I heard Philip Seymour-Hoffman's voice in the movie. My God, nails on a chalk board. The character would make a fine comic relief character, but as a lead in a very much dramatic role, I think I will allow my ears some peace.

Actress: I repeat, none of these movies nominated in this category are ones I had seen at the time. I was rooting for Felicity Huffman, who I had only seen perform in clips and trailers online as her character Bree, but already I had laughed my butt off. When I actually saw the movie, I did not laugh, whatever I found funny, didn't exist anymore. I was sad of the way Kevin Zegers' character Toby, had to live, and how Bree had lied, and the way Toby treated her, and how the ending was still sad with a change in the horizon. And I thought, how was Kevin not nominated, how did Felicity lose, and why was this not up for best picture. 1.) Probably the same reasons Brokeback Mountain failed to win with picture, actor, and supporting actor: gay movie and gay roles. 2.) A trans-gendered role even lost out to Johnny Cash's wife in Walk the Line played by Reese Witherspoon. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for Reese because I loved her in Cruel Intentions, but that should have gone to Felicity. 3) And finally because Oscars rarely nominate good movies:

1.) Titanic was a given (it made 600 million dollars!, a feat that still stands as highest grossing movie ten years later.)
2.) LOTR: Return of the King (it's about damn time one of the LOTR's gets some major awards, and I expect the same for Harry Potter's seventh movie. Daniel Radcliffe is an amazing actor, and his character leaps into maturity with every new movie.)
3.) And of course there will be others, a select few I assure you, but when it comes to awards shows I guess I should stick to ones that have a few less academy voters, and a few more 'normal' people. aka People's Choice, MTV Movie Awards.

I'll know better next year, hopefully.

Okay, to start off I'm a little biased because most of the shows on this list are from the WB. And in all fairness, I didn't have UPN until last year, so... from most must-have to least:

    1.) Smallville.
I have been a follower of this show since its inception. I haven't exactly followed the comics or the movies, but this show is phenomenal. I've always known Lana wasn't Lois, but God had I wished she was. And Chloe, I hated her at first for being one of the people between Clark and Lana, but now ya just gotta love that girl. Downpoints: Sam couldn't be trusted with a secret so big. Clark's father dies, I know I was bummed too.
Verdict: Step up from The Adventures of...

    2.) Veronica Mars.
Thank you CBS for airing this show last summer so I could glimpse it. I haven't strayed since. And even though I still haven't seen the first season in its entirety, I so badly want to purchase. But I will wait until it becomes (slightly) cheaper. But God do I love Vee ( Kristen too!), and the fact that she can make room for Buffy alumni, especially a very missed Willow.
Verdict: Detective show with less elderly stars, bravo and genius.

    3.) Gilmore Girls
Now to be fair, I haven't watched much of the past couple seasons, but I did enjoy it in the early years. And my girlfriend, who has become obsessed with it, would kill me to know I let this one suffer a lower slot. But all in all this show is witty, and probably gives a lot of available monologue scenes for up-and-comers. I enjoy a show where the people talk as fast and frequently as I do.
Verdict: If I could type as fast as I can talk, this show would have already been posted, aka It's a Keeper.

    4.) Supernatural
Can I say how happy I am that a slightly horror themed show has become a mini hit for theWB? I guess now I really don't need to. But I enjoy the teasing of a good horror movie, and sometimes I feel like I'm watching a full movie with just an hour gone by. (That's actually a good thing.) It's always good to go back down memory lane with these horror twists.
Verdict: 60 minute movies with clear-cut endings that don't feel to rushed, yea, that's definitely a good thing.

    5.) Beauty and the Geek
I have to have my reality shows, and this show is just so great. To force people into the opposite side's shoes (this past season the girls became a little more dorky than usual, and got less attention from 'hot' guys, and a few moral bruising.) was awesome. In fact, I think it's just what the psychologist ordered. And if we can help a few 'geeks' to upgrade to a better 'model', well, who will complain? Someone (Damn them!).
Verdict: As long as the next time the girls are the geeks and the guys are the beauties, then I'm game.

    6.) America's Next Top Model
This show is just true fun. To see women get judged by how they look and how they present themselves, with actual judges telling them they've got a lot of work to catch up: glorious. Of course, Tyra going satanic on one contestant also makes things so much more interesting as well.
Verdict: I have yet to watch this show on first-run (I'm a VH1 marathon watcher.), but maybe CW will bring me in.

    7.) Charmed.
This show is last only because the witches have only so many ways left to 'die' before I get un-intrigued. This is another show where I finally gave up watching last season, but still enjoy to watch reruns of. However, it will be beneficial to all if they just quit making new seasons so I can quit buying them. (Do you think they bought it?)
Verdict: Too costly for my checkbook, but at least my girlfriend will be happy.

Shows CW could pick up so I can quit blubbering:

    1.) Reunion.
This show is so absolutely awesome, and I just want to see it unravel. Surely CW has an audience worthy of it, not all of us will fall for Eve, Kitchen Confidential, or the likes. This show deserves an ending, no, I deserve an ending.

    2.) Joan of Arcadia.
Just when the show was moving from good to awesome, CBS rips the rug from beneath me and laughs with glee. And then they think I will grab the coattails of The Book of Daniel, Hah, I scoff at your failure. If God is going to be on TV, I will take Joan or nothing at all. That goes for Jennifer Love Hewitt's crappy knock-off as well.

I was doubting the power of this show. I even told myself I wouldn't waste my time, but there is something completely incaptivating about this show that I don't want to look away.

Yes, I am a guilty person of watching this show yelling at the contestants and even once gasping in shock.

I am ashamed, sort of. On the other hand, I hope this show gets a weekly pick-up: none of that Millionaire multi-week Philbin crap. I actually want to see OCD Howie weekly please.

    Oh, yes, and thank you.

It is only fair to seperate this from scripted TV. I'm just not sure which side it is more fair for. Anyways, here are MY picks, starting with the best:

1.) Big Brother on CBS Summers. I love this show. I could however not watch it, and I wouldn't be so obsessed. But once I watch that first episode, my summer then moves around Big Brother's schedule. If only we could get a January version.

2.) Biggest Loser on NBC. Never has a reality series changed a group of people quite like this. Sure there was The Swan which surgically enhanced women, and was good for the first season. However on the Biggest Loser, contestants are taught by celebrity trainers who seem to motivate them beyond the show.

3.) Amazing Race on CBS. The Family Edition not included. This is a great show that involves conflict not just with other teams but within the teams themselves. Plus it's nice to have a couple free trips around the globe. Multilingists need not apply, we'd rather have the stuck-up Americans figure it out on their own. (Not to say that there hasn't been good teams: Uchenna & Joyce, for one.)

4.) American Idol on FOX. This show would have been tops in 2002 and 2003 when we could hear the talents of Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken. But in 2004, Jennifer Hudson deserved 2nd and got 6th, and Latoya London deserved 1st, but got 4th. Our top three: screechy Jasmine Trias (3rd), deep-voiced Diana DeGarmo?(2nd), and Macy-Gray-on-crack Fantasia Barrino(the winner?). Season 4 was worse. Constantine, Bo, and Carrie were highly praised, and I was highly bored. I rooted for 3rd and 4th placers: Vonzell and Anthony, respectively. Both still couldn't compare to past season performers. I'll give the show one more season, but if the contestants aren't any better, I'm freeing up 90 minutes of my night life.

5.) America's Next Top Model on UPN. I have never watched this show in the first-runs, but usually catch it when VH1 runs it in marathons. Very entertaining show where wannabe models get judged and ridiculed by Janice Dickinson? Yes, she was a model, and no not recently. That is, until this show came around. Old models lives have new meaning now.

That's it. Think Survivor should be in there. Too bad, it's too over-played and the SUPRISES are just plain stupid.

This is basically just a personal list and has no other measure besides my opinion. In order from best to 5th best, at least at the current moment:

1.) Lost on ABC. Anyone who tells you that this season has been a downer lied to you. Yes my head is overflowing with new questions, so much so that I may have forgotten some of the older ones. I may have to go back and watch season one on DVD again, which I own.

2.) Veronica Mars on UPN. I haven't even seen all of the first season yet, and I can already admit to being addicted to this season. How did I catch on? Special episodes on CBS. And now I MUST tape this show whenever it's on. I just hope UPN has the brains to keep this show on the air. If Fox can keep Arrested Development, surely UPN can give this show a few more seasons.

3.) Smallville on WB. This is just truly a remarkable show that I started watching from day one. I own the first two seasons, and am just praying that this won't end this season.

4.) Supernatural on WB. How often can you mix a good horror movie with a 60 minute setting on your couch. Not often, and for a series that makes it work, I'm ecstatic. This show has wet this horror fan's appetite. Now if only I can get a Saw-like TV series.

5.) Desperate Housewives on ABC. I know, it feels cliche to even have this on my list, but it is a good show despite the obvious fall backs. I'm glad to have seen Marcia Cross in acting mode, and to have seen a new side of Felicia Huffman's character this season. This show truly deserved a top 5 slot.

It wasn't too difficult to pick my top 5, but I didn't want this show to go unnoticed:

Runner-up.) ER on NBC. My girlfrined has watched this show from the beginning, and I just started it last season. But I gotta say, that this show has truly impressed me. I'm not into most of the crime/medical dramas out there, and probably never would have caught onto this show if it wasn't for who I was dating! I just wonder where all the fans have gone. This is still a good show even without the shows last star. Watch it people.
