WOW, its been ages since ive been on here, huh?
life: finished at disney
made a ton of amazing friends, worked a kick-ass job, lost a bunch of weight, celebrated my one-year anniversary of finishing chemo by getting a tattoo. it killed me to have to leave. but im on seasonal status, and planning to go back in july, so its all good. in korea now, having a blast. and lots and lots of soju.fandom:
--still loving himym
--have discovered big bang theory and penny/sheldon. LOVE!!
--am SUPER SUPER SUPER pissed @ the l word series finale. at that whole final season, really. way to ruin my favorite character AND my otp!
--life just gets better and better. the cases are just so truly BIZARRE and MESSED-UP. and against all logic, im hardcore shipping dani/tidwell. no idea how that happened.
--discovered 30 rock. seriously, nbc comedy is gold. alec baldwin is probably the only man that i really and truly believe only gets better with age.
--tried dollhouse. and while i really and truly appreciate the entire episode dedicated to gratuitous shots of matt keeslar's arms, overall i find it lacking the appeal that ive found in all of joss' previous work.
--speaking of keeslar...they f-ing CANCELLED THE MIDDLEMAN!!! ive been told that theres a tiny margin of chance for renewal based on dvd sales, so ill be on those babies like white on rice when they come out. i NEED to know what happens when tyler starts working for fatboy!!
--have gotten sucked back into the vortex of grey's anatomy. which i kind of hate myself for, but i just love izzie so much, and keep naively hoping that they'll fix what they f-ed up with her and george. also, callie and mark are the most amazing bff's EVER. seriously, EVER. they need their own show IMMEDIATELY, they are so dysfunctional and AWESOME.
--doctor who and torchwood were clearly conspiring against the general public in order to KILL US DEAD in the course of several hours worth of multi-part finales. i mean.....dear GOD. i find it funny that i watched the last episode of torchwood the night that i got to florida. so a few hours before im supposed to be working for the 'happiest place on earth', and im sobbing my eyes out in a cheap motel room.
--im ready for some new fandoms! ive decided that skins and battlestar galactica are next on the list. bring it on!!

lol just popping on here a minute to check something, and i happened to read over my last blog post. specifically the part about "no, they can't end without jommy together. it simply wont happen."
HA! how naiive we can be. god, im still so freaking pissed about that.
quick life update: in florida, working for disney. getting really tan, having inappropriate crushes, dealing with 6 females in one apartment. its an adventure.
quick fandom update: even more immersed in 'how i met your mother'. just bought s3 of jag (yes, i know, im WAY behind, but dvds are expensive!). just saw s1 of life and i'd rate it about a 6.5/10. ill tune in to s2, though, with hopes high. saw the new xfiles movie, with a fan that i hooked up w/ via livejournal. it was so ridiculous and LULZY, but great to watch with someone else who knows all of the history behind it, was actually a fan and involved in the fandom. and just started watching that german soap opera with olli/christian today and am IN LOVE. with all of the characters surrounding their storyline, actually. why aren't american soaps this interesting and logical?
ok, back to what i was doing. peace out, y'all!

new season of instant star, YAYYYYY!! i have to say that im disappointed that they're back @ gmajor - ive really liked the progression of jude's music career in previous seasons, and having her join jamie and pagan's new independent label would have been a great step in a new direction. it just seems like a cheap way to explain away the move to a new lobby set. but who the hell cares because JUDE AND TOMMY ARE TOGETHER AND THEY ARE CLEARLY THE MOST ADORABLE THING ON THE PLANET!! judging from some of the music later on in the season (actually, pretty soon now - like in 2 episodes), theres going to be a fight and/or breakup of some sort, but you know that they cant end the series without them together. its just not going to happen.
also? i suddenly like karma and speid. i was never expecting to, but hes so sweet with her, he really seems to balance her out, and i love those little moments when he kind of coaxes her into being a true human. its really cute. im kind of half in love with tyler kyte now.
HAVE I MENTIONED THAT JUDE AND TOMMY ARE ADORABLE??
and ill totally deal with a breakup/fight if it produces songs like 'i just wanted your love'. AWESOME. im not in love with 'live like music', nor the synth trumpets during 'perfect' (synth trumpets? SERIOUSLY??), but the rest of it is pretty awesome. i also like 'ultraviolett' alot. WHY MUST THIS SHOW END???
ps~not having decent internet due to a flaky immature roommate is ANNOYING. just fyi.

putting the 'bones' and the 'house' finales on the same night? seriously? are you TRYING to kill me?!?!
bones was.....well, im still conflicted as to how i feel about it. it was intense, but at the same time some of it didnt, characteristically, make alot of sense. the opening sequence, while interesting and funny, was a complete letdown from the dramatic cliffhanger of the previous episode. HOWEVER, it did lead to that ridiculously awesome scene in booth's bathroom, so i guess i really shouldnt complain. i mean honestly, how is it possible for seeley booth to be anymore perfect? and then, of course, there's the ending.....*sigh*. i mean on some level, i buy it, but at the same time i still don't. i dont know. i havent gotten a chance to re-watch it yet, maybe i'll have some concrete opinions after i do. i think that i MIGHT be able to forgive it if they follow through next season, and show the anguish that the team is going through. i mean after caroline's awesome 'you all have to work together' speech, and cam's 'you take away one of us and we would have all been buried live', if they don't give it the emotional impact that it deserves i am going to be PISSED. every single one of those characters loved him - he was like a little brother to angela, hodgins was his best friend and roommate, and he obviously meant so much to brennan. oh my god, the scene where she leans her forehead against his just broke me in two.
but oh no, they couldnt leave well enough alone right there. because then came the house finale, during which i basically sobbed my eyes out for a solid hour. OH MY GOD. i initially had reservations about the general theme of both 'houses head' and 'wilsons heart', simply because we've already had a season finale that relied heavily on house's hallucinations. but this one? oh WOW. just WOW. AMBERRRRRRR, i will miss you so much!! its funny, i really disliked her at first. but now i LOVE her, and it just kills me that we wont get to see her anymore. and poor WILSON! she was absolutely perfect for him in every way. when he comes home and finds the note on the bed? GUH. color me broken.
i am SO glad that i decided to wait and download the how i met your mother finale, because it was EXACTLY what i needed after that emotional overhaul. BARNEY STINSON IS IN LOVE WITH ROBIN SCHERBATSKY, IT'S OFFICIAL. carter bays, im sorry i ever began to doubt you. never again! i look forward to oodles of awesome fic this summer - its kind of ridiculous how 99% of all barney/robin fic is of such high quality. but i cant wait to see more of it!
lol and SPEAKING of ripping my heart out.....i'm re-downloading doctor who, from the beginning. oh, ROSE. oh, NINE! i havent seen the final few torchwood episodes either, and ive heard their quite a doozy as well. so i'll have something to keep me occupied on the plane ride to florida - i just bought a laptop, because there would be NO way to transport my desktop on a plane without it getting destroyed. so YAY, ability to surf the internet while waiting to board, watch my downloads on the plane, and write fic when i get to the hotel! so very very cool. ive never had one of these before! its even got a bigger hard drive than my computer, so no more worrying about disk space w/ my video files! its just that transferring them is a pain in the ass.
OK, i should REALLY be packing. i can feel my mother glaring at me even from downstairs.

how i met your mother. WOW.
i just love this show more and more with every episode that i watch. i LOVE the schizophrenic storytelling style, not only because it makes it more interesting than the average linearally-plotted show, but also because i think it really mirrors real people's storytelling styles. it makes me laugh and think of my parents - my dad tells stories completely out of order, and my mom prefaces with like fifteen years worth of unneccesary backstory. i like that it's romantic, and all about destiny and fate and finding THE ONE. because i very much believe that that concept exists. and then i get my SUPER AWESOME BARNEY/ROBIN SIDE COUPLE, because seriously? YES.
um, 'sandcastles in the sand'? if you haven't seen it yet, stop reading here.
only three words to say: OH MY GOD. i am still in absolute shock that IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED!!!! i am SO excited to see where it goes, because i feel like they have ALOT of potential.
my two cents on the matter:
i think they're going to stay together. it wont be easy, because theyre both so stubborn and headstrong, and i know they're definitely not going to get married and do the whole white-picket-fences thing (i can't even imagine them LIVING TOGETHER). but i think they are such a perfect match. just the ease of their interaction, how robin often laughs at his jokes even when the others shake their heads in disgust.
i think that its ROBIN that's truly commitment-phobic. i think barney talks a big game, but at the end of the day i think that if he found the right woman, he'd be willing to make it work. i mean look at the evidence. he flew all the way to san francisco to convince lily that marshall needed her. he MARRIED THEM HIMSELF, and got teared up. he has spoken several times about how they belong together. and throughout the robin/ted relationship, he kept trying to get them to see the light. he KNEW that they wouldn't work, just like they knew it deep down, too - they just had different views on all of the most important issues. i think that barney might initially freak out if love found him, but i think he'd be open to the idea.- Posted Apr 22, 2008 11:43 pm PT

two new obsessions as of late: 'csi: ny' and 'how i met your mother'.
there was this metaphor that i read one time on livejournal about 'law and order: criminal intent' and 'law and order: special victims unit'. and about how ci is the steady boyfriend - logical, rational, mature, faithful. and you know that you SHOULD be all into ci, but svu is the total bad boy and even though he's a bit of an ass and kind of dumb, you can't help yourself because hes just so freaking HOT.
and dudes? that is so totally 'csi vegas' and 'csi: ny'. ny is logical and well-plotted, but vegas is just SO insane that you HAVE to love it.
but seriously, ny? AWESOME. it's darker, more adult (and has AWESOME guest stars, OMG, tj thyne and ted raimi!!!) and just all around more structurally sound than vegas' sometimes teetering (....wait for it....) house of cards. sorry, that was bad.
couples! because this is me we're talking about and i am mentally incapable of watching a television show without a couple to root for. well, from day one it was all about mac and stella. i had heard alot about stella and flack, and honestly went into this not knowing if i could take gary sinise seriously and not picture him doing lieutenant dan's crazy eyes from 'forest gump', but nonetheless i ended up a hardcore smacked 'shipper. they have such history and mutual trust, it's impossible to ignore that. (and i am completely reformed on the issue of gary sinise, mac taylor is SUCH a f*cking badass. HOT.)
also, danny/lindsay. OBVIOUSLY. and i mean speaking of HOT? DANNY MESSER. oh, WOW. there are just NO words to fully capture carmine giovinazzo's undeniable sex appeal. GUHHHHHHH. and holy hell could they MAKE his shirts any tighter?! oh, to be the csiny wardrobe mistress....
SORRY. i digress. danny/lindsay. im pissed about whats going on right now, though my opinions on the matter are significantly different than that of the majority of the fandom so i keep them to myself. but up to 'child's play'? PERFECTION. they had such a logical progression, and the actors have such great chemistry. i just love danny the big player, and here comes this little country girl and knocks him flat on the ass.
minor couples that i enjoy: s1 stella/hawkes, i think he had a MAJOR crush on her. i have something stewing fanfic-wise about how things changed between them once he left the me's office. flack/angell, because flack is AWESOME and i love emanuelle vaugier. and my old-school doomed OTP, aiden/flack. WOW. those two would have been AWESOME. aw man i miss aiden so much. i initially disliked her alot, but she grew on me. and she and danny were such adorable best friends. i have my own theories as to them as a romantic couple, but thats something else im saving for fic.
'how i met your mother'. its an above-average sitcom - not one of the best of all time, but what makes up for it? wait for it....my super-awesome otp that most people would call me crazy for. come on, who's surprised? anyway. it is?
barney and robin.
LEGENDARY.
neil patrick harris saves that show, no doubt. i really have no interest in marshall, lily, or ted. i feel sorry for alyson hannigan, i feel like her character is one of the most superfluous, and as much as i love her, i still find lily boring.
yeah, that is all. im just biding my time finishing the episodes before i can start making music videos. yay! except that im running out of room on my computer....lol. damn my television obsession.

i wanted to share the most incredible news ive gotten in a long time!! (well, since that whole no-more-cancer thing, but this is SO much more fun!!)
i get out of school on may 9. on may 28, i am due in orlando florida for a summer and semester WORKING AT DISNEY WORLD!!!!! i get back from disney in early february. later that month, i leave again, this time for south korea (FINALLY), where ill be until june-ish. yeah, next year is pretty much going to rock harder than i ever imagined. have to say, after everything else i deserve it. DID I MENTION I'M GOING TO BE IN DISNEY WORLD FOR 7.5 MONTHS?!?!?!
and to make this awesomeness even more awesome, my best friend's family moved down to florida about 2 years ago. shes graduating next month and moving down to be with her family while she does grad school @ ufgc - we may get to drive down together, but also she can come visit me!! itll be alot easier than her in florida and me in illinois, thats for sure. they supposedly have rules that you cant have overnight guests in the disney apartments (which are actually pretty reasonably priced), but her brothers live in orlando, so if they let her stay with them i can get them into the parks for free. i get 6 guest passes total (each admits up to 3 people), though i myself get unlimited access.
HOW COOL IS THIS?!?!?! ive already decided that when i want to chill out and write, im going to go over to the swiss family robinson tree house (in...magic kindgom? i think?).
oh man. it still hasnt fully sunken in yet.

hola, muchachos y muchachas!
school's going well. i'm turning in my application for south korea (AGAIN) next week, i got to visit my best friend last week, and i'm making a movie!! if any of you have ever read the book 'sloppy firsts' by meghan mcafferty, i'm adapting it into screenplay form. or, well, i've already adapted it. it's all written and everything, and we started shooting last week! im still working on casting some parts, but getting some of the other stuff out of the way while i work on that. and when i finish, i get to premiere it in a real movie theatre!! its an old renovated theatre downtown and they love to have indie student films shown. it's going to be so awesome!!
speaking of awesome? my roommate. we get along SO well. mainly, because i obviously have the best dvd collection on earth, and have been slowly but surely getting her into all of my shows. she loveloveLOVES instant star, which i unfortunately only have one season of, but once i get my screen fixed i have the other seasons on my computer. we're getting into veronica mars - we watched seasons 1 & 2, then found s3 on amazon for $20 - with my leftover gift certificates, i got it for >$10. it came in on monday, and we're already through 'spit & eggs'. we're finished with the 1st season of 'queer as folk' as well, which i have another 2 seasons of. ncis (found the 1st season at wal-mart the other day for $20! smallville s2 as well!) and dark angel are sure to follow.
she (her name is crystal) has also infinitely endeared herself to me by, after seeing the very first episode of veronica mars, falling in love with weevil. oh HELL yes!! and even into s3, she still hates logan and wants weevil and veronica to get together. clearly, we were destined to be roommates. i love her. we have friends in common too, it turns out, so we hang out on the weekends sometimes. ive had a sucky roommate before, and you never quite know what you're going to get with a random, so it's nice.
AAAAAAAAAND, its time to mail the script out to my newest cast member. hope you all are doing well and surviving the strike.

i was re-reading some of my earlier blog entries about my favorite pairings. i just find it funny that faith/wesley and clark/chloe are at the very bottom of that list considering that i've recently re-discovered my love for both of them.
clark and chloe are OBVIOUSLY the otp of smallville - lana who? it helps that allison mack is pretty much the most adorable thing on the planet, but it's just how well she and clark get along. lana is all 'OH I'M GONNA TRAP LIONEL IN A BEAR TRAP IN THIS RANDOM CABIN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS AND HIT HIM WITH A SHOVEL' and just generally bat$hit insane, whereas chloe kind of takes it all in stride. i'm still disappointed that she never found out clark's secret on her own - i mean COME ON, being obnoxiously nosy is what her character is all about. but time and time again, clark and lana fight and break up and chloe is there for him. ALWAYS. the more time that passes, the closer they get, and i just don't get the whole clark/lana thing anymore. i mean i'll agree that they were cute back s1ish, but after that it was just endless, needless drama. chloe has his back, no questions asked. plus, HER MOTHER IS FREAKING WONDER WOMAN. if that's not proof that they're meant to be then i don't know what is.
and my lovely dark, twisted little obsession of faith and wesley. oh, man. i've started this GREAT fanmix for them, which i will likely be tweaking pretty much forever, but one day i'll make some cover art and zip it all up and post it somewhere. there's just something so deliciously twisted and wrong about the two of them as a couple which makes me love them even more. i adore characters that have alot of shared history, and faith and wesley have it in spades. neither of their life journeys would have been possible without the other - their pasts are undeniably tangled up in each other. but when you get to s5 angel, they've both come full circle, and it's like they're on equal ground for the first time, which is a brand-new dynamic for both of them that they don't quite know how to handle. i think there is SO much to explore there. the common denominator in faith/wesley fanfiction seems to be the idea of a post-apocalyptic road trip, which works great with both of them and is somehow incredibly sexy. the possibilities are just endless.
*huggles* seriously, what would tv be without pairings to squee over? action-smaction, gimme two individuals who are obviously meant for each other but are forced to angst it out until the end of time and i'm happy as a clam.- Posted Dec 30, 2007 10:03 am PT

the holidays were interesting this year - both my sister and i work at convenience stores, so our experiences with customers are often pretty similar. well, we both got stuck with shifts christmas eve and SERIOUSLY, you would think it would put people in a better mood, but oh no of course not. i had some dick decide it would be appropriate to call me a fata$$ because i wouldn't sell him cigarettes without an id, it took me TWO FREAKING HOURS to mop the floor because people kept coming in every two seconds, and to top it all off, i found another mouse. he actually let me walk up next to him and let him out the door, but considering that it's cold outside and there's no food, i give it three days tops before he's right back inside. people at my sister's job were even worse, so by the time we got home we were exhausted, and got INCREDIBLY slap-happy on the ride home from church. i COULD NOT STOP LAUGHING.
christmas morning was the usual - open presents, have my mom's homemade cinnamon rolls. i ended up with the firefly dvds (OMFGSQUEEEEEEE!!!), the 3rd potc movie, the spice girls greatest hits cd, this AWESOME bar set that's SHAPED LIKE A FIRETRUCK IT IS SO COOL, a gas gift certificate, a little bit of cash....and socks. lots of socks. no, i have no idea how i turned out so normal either. got some cute little things from people at work - joe (my boss) got all of us this pack of hair stuff - which a)i'm sure his wife picked out, and b)yeah, thats gonna do me alot of good with so little hair to speak of. still, it was sweet. and anna gave me this penguin mug with a stuffed penguin inside. i'm so excited because the cutesy penguin mugcan now sit right next to my naughty penguin mug and it will be PERFECT.
new years is now just a few days away and i still don't know what i'm doing. i'm contemplating just being lame and having a movie marathon at home because, on my first year being legal on new years, i have to work at SIX IN THE F*CKING MORNING new years day. there is something inherently unfair about that.
in the fandom world, i'm scrambling to get a birthday fic done by tomorrow, then i still have the house bigbang fic, which is 20000 words that i havent even started yet, due early february. my dad and i are going skiing in utah a few days after my mom's birthday, so hopefully i'll have some time on the plane ride to do some thinking and sketch out a rough outline - i tend to get a bit more creative when i get a change of scenery.
there are aboutthirty music videos that i REALLYREALLYREALLY wanna do, including ncis, one tree hill, strike support, smallville, house, etc. however i'm currently without my computer, because my screen blew. i did a bit of online research and apparently it's pretty common and probably not very serious, but i still don't want to have to pay to fix it. (i'm on my parents' computer now. its fine, its just that my computer has all of my files and all of my settings and my awesome customized browser, and the correct homepage....etcetera etcetera.)
i'm hardcore back into smallville. i watched it when it first came out until about the end of the second season, then i got sick of it, because i was watching it for the characters, not the superman mythology. i realized that its pretty stupid to give up a superman show for BEING ABOUT SUPERMAN, so ive gone back and am re-watching. basically it was allison mack who swayed me back.....i can't help it, chloe is pretty much the most awesome character on earth. i'm about midway through s2 right now. obtaining the episodes is annoying, especially with how crappy my wireless card is (that's the nice thing about my parents' computer - they have an internal wireless card that works like a charm), but i know that when i get back to school i have a friend that guaranteed owns every single season on dvd. i think he graduated, but he's a townie and will be working at state farm, so he'll probably still pop his head down into the basement from time to time.
yes, I'M GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!! this day could not come soon enough. just a little over 2 weeks now. i even got into the good dorms, too! my new roomie seems nice enough - or as nice as one can seem from a few paragraph-long facebook conversations.
speaking of smallville and my basement lair: my good friend alicia, who is my GIRL when it comes to all things fandom, was in town on leave from the air force academy, so we got to fangirl it out for a bit. and have come to the conclusion that me spending all of my time in the fell basement makes me totally chloe sullivan. which is kindof awesome.
i'm also rediscovering my love for firefly, thanks to the dvd set from my parents. GOD, were mal and inara awesome OR WHAT?? and dark angel as well. FOX, STOP CANCELLING MY GODDAMN SHOWS!! the child actors that play the pre-escape X5's are PHENOMENAL, and they just do such a good job setting up this alternate universe. i really love the shots of south market street.
plus, michael weatherly being all uber-broody with the glasses and the stubble....what's not to love?- Posted Dec 29, 2007 12:12 am PT

just popping in to see how everyones doing! nano is finished, and i failed miserably. *sigh*. but i wrote twice as much as i did last year and got some great ideas for next year, so i'm still glad that i did it.
however, i still have alot on my plate - currently i have two 'ship manifestos to write, a birthday fic, my yuletide fic, and my house_bigbang fic of 20,000 words. hmmmm. have i mentioned that i suck at deadlines? we'll see what transpires.
have a very happy holiday, all of you!!

8Dec 07the wga strike. i know that everyone and their mothers have made their own entry about it, but it's too important an issue for me not to.
what's going on? the writer's guild of america is on strike. that means all of the scriptwriters from your favorite shows have put their pencils down.
why? writers' contracts are out-of-date, and don't reflect today's changing media market. writers aren't getting compensated for their proper share of internet downloads such as itunes, and media streamed from official network websites. it may be free to the consumer, but the annoying advertisements that you have to sit through mean that the studio is making money. the writers also originally attempted to make an additional $.04 per dvd sale, but took the offer off the table in favor of the larger issue - the internet. network execs failed to meet the guild's demands; thus the strike.
what does this mean for them? it means that writers are out of jobs. it also means that actors, producers, assistants, etc who refuse to cross the picket line are being informed that they are in breach of their contracts, and are being suspended and/or fired. many have been literally locked out of their offices. the networks are trying to play the situation to their advantage, by using the strike as an excuse to easily wiggle their way out of extended contracts that they have come to view as not generating enough revenue. basically, it's leaving writers out in the cold, and the rest of the employees having to make the horrible decision: go to work and be accused of being unsympathetic to the writers' plight, or side with the writers and risk being fired; this decision is especially hard for the numerous employees at the bottom of the food chain, who are living paycheck-to-paycheck.
what does this mean for us, the consumer? it means your favorite shows aren't being written; which means they won't be filmed, edited, or viewed. networks are showing the episodes that they have already finished, but when they reach the end of the rope it will be reruns or new reality shows that don't require guild writers. most daily talk shows (colbert, daily show, conan, leno, craig ferguson, etc) have already halted production, as they're written the day they air. how long this will continue will be determined by how long the strike lasts, and whether the networks finally give in, or decide to see how well they fare with new programming.
what can i do? DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR WATCH EPISODES THROUGH OFFICIAL CHANNELS. let's be honest, there are always going to be less-than-legal means, but many people would prefer to avoid them. that's fine. right now, however, it's only adding to the problem. and it's gonna suck, not being able to watch your favorite shows, but think of the writers. every episode you watch or download, that's more money going right into the pocket of everyone EXCEPT the writers. show your support through banners, icons, etc. join
wga_supporters. make a post such as this one, in case there's someone on your flist who doesn't know what's going on. join pickets if you live in the area of any major studios - you don't have to be a member of the guild to do so. let your voice be heard, and let the networks know that we're not putting up with this BS.
bottom line:
no, the writers are not being greedy. at the end of the day, it's not even about money. it's about writers getting the credit and respect they deserve for all of the hard work they put in. it's about equality and fairness. take, for example, several writers of 'the office': last year, they wrote, shot, and produced a series of short one-acts to view only on the website. the writers won a daytime emmy for these webisodes, but the writers still haven't seen a dime from the millions of people that watched. the network wouldn't even pony up the cash for them to buy the actual emmy statue. there is something so inherently wrong about that situation.
no, editors, producers, etc who cross the line to go into work are not immediately evil. you have to realize that it's extremely hard to find decent work in hollywood, and some of these people just can't take the risk, whether professionally or financially, of losing their jobs.
and, above all, remember that without writers, THERE WOULD BE NO TELEVISION. sure actors are important. but without someone to give them dialogue and blocking, they'd just be sorta standing there helplessly flailing. television creates a very symbiotic relationship between its different departments, and when you pull one out, the whole damn thing collapses.

and i'm off! where to, you ask? to the insanity that is nanowrimo, aka national novel-writing month. i will not be sleeping, i will only be writing. all day. all the time. i love all of my buds in the tate forum, but i know myself - i procrastinate. and i can't afford to - there's a novel to be written!
so if you need me, drop me a line at no_place_special@hotmail.com. it's one of the few distractions that i'm allowing myself, so you can bet your ass i'll be checking it every thirty seconds when i get bored of writing. keep me updated, keep me entertained!
if you watched jag, you can check out my novel here:
http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dwvfpx3_0fk8vvz
google docs has live updating, so check back and watch the word count climb to the magical 50,000!
love you all. don't burn down the internets or anything while i'm gone, k?

heroes:
only seen the pilot so far. i know, shame on me! i hope to see the subsequent episodes sometime soon, before i get too far backed up.bones:
good! nice angela/hodgins, nice booth/brennan (because let's be honest, what else do i care about?), without being over-the-top. cam is even likable this season! shocker, i know!! i still think that the silver skeleton serial killer plot is beyond lame - both for the plot itself and for the fact that they already have a serial killer to catch - whatever happened to the gravedigger?? still, the character interactions are spot-on so far, and that's what i love about the show, so i'm happy.house:
funny!! the house/cuddy is PHENOMENALLY HOT, and i'm having a blast with all of the potential ducklings. even cam and chase are tolerable - in small doses. i love chase with a backbone!! though his "visions" of them around the hospital in episode 2 were pretty lame. especially foreman. i don't care about foreman!! i'm glad he got fired, but at the same time i wish he hadn't, because now he's coming back.svu:
plots are, for the most part, the same caliber that they usually are, but i've completely given up on ever getting any real, logical character development out of the show. the writers have one strength, and they should stick to it - i'd rather see them not bother than completely screw it up.grey's:
first episode? AWESOME! second episode? BAD! we'll see how the third goes. i just really disliked the whole addiction metaphor, as i felt that it really belittled what george and izzie have. and as someone who has been waiting for this since the first season, it would kill me to see it ruined.csi:
haven't seen it yet. i know that sara lives, but i also know that she's not sticking around for very long either, so i'm a bit bitter. kay keeps me updated, though, so i don't feel like i'm missing out on alot.the office:
OH. MY. GOD. they are on fire this season!!! jim and pam are, obviously, a bag full of puppies, and COME ON NOW - within the first five minutes of the new season michael has run over meredith. IT DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THAT.secret diary of a call girl:
my new obsession; a brittish show starring billie piper. BILLIE PIPER!! LOVE HER. she's SO freaking sexy, and has AMAZING comedic timing. this role was practically tailor-made for her.- Posted Oct 9, 2007 9:02 pm PT

whose genius idea was this whole "get a job" thing? because it seems like just yesterday that i only had one job, which could barely even qualify as part-time.....and now i have three. im working at a fastener company (owned by a friend of the family), doing paperwork and filing and such.....and, randomly, painting. then im mowing lawns for my dad @ his apartment buildings, and now im back at white hen. its a bit surreal - it was my first job ever, and now im back, 6 years later. its amusing finally being able to do all of the things that i never used to be able to do due to my age - working the meat slicer, working the lotto machine, selling cigarettes, selling alcohol. but its fun - there are some of the same people working there that there used to be, so its nice already knowing them, and having the boss already know and like me. but apparently white hen got bought out by 7-11, so its going to be converted to a 7-11 sometime soon (i think he said late august), and hes considering selling the store to carrie.
but, the main point: too much time at work means not enough time for fandom!
ive gote like sixty billion stories that i want to write, and several music videos, and a bunch of icons, but im always working! damn you college for sucking up all of my money!im about halfway through doctor who series 3. and honestly, im ok with martha. as long as they will STOP trying to claim that shes in love with the doctor. for one thing, i feel like having her go all weak at the knees for him after only a few days kind of undercuts painting her as such a strong character. and obviously, it just seems so empty and repetitive after rose. if they would keep it strictly as a friendship, i would be ok. honestly, i could even see martha fancying the doctor a bit - well because honestly, who WOULDNT? but hes exciting and hes charming and hes adorable, and more importantly hes brilliant, and i think that appeals to martha alot. attraction? fine. love? no, thanks.
but besides that, and besides the fact that i still think freema's acting leaves a little to be desired, im still enjoying s3. with the exception of 'daleks in manhattan/evolution of the daleks' that is. i thought that the evolution concept was interesting, and really fit into the dalek's incredible survival instinct, and i DIED when the doctor says 'why do they survive when i lose everything'. but i think that the daleks are getting a bit overused. and the more they talk, the more comical they become. to me, theyre much scarier when all they say is "EXTERMINATE!!". i just finished 'the lazarus experiment', which was a great mixture of exposition for both martha and the doctor. and as soon as its finished downloading, im onto the next episode, because OMG JACK!!! captain jack, i have missed you so. as soon as im finished with doctor who, im starting on torchwood, and i cannot wait!
