I've said these words so many times before and I don't know whether I even deserve to say them anymore. I sat near the entrance of my dad's office building here in Sri Lanka, and I saw a couple of emaciated, stray dogs sleeping and trying to find food from a pile of garbage. The pile was also on fire, so the dogs were sniffing around the edges. They barely have a meal or even just fresh water. They drink out of a puddle of muddy water nearby.

There are also hundreds of people walking on the streets just across from the office. They stink of sweat and dirt, but they have the right to complain... Not me. I have no right to complain about the life I have. Most of the children here don't even have a proper education or a decent meal on the table when they get home. I've had a proper education and I have a meal waiting for me everyday at the same table at home. I'm overweight but I am healthy. My lungs have had the blessing of fresh air for seven years now. The people here in Sri Lanka would be lucky to get even one breath of fresh air. The pollution is disgusting and makes me wonder why life can be so cruel. I wish I could do something to help the people around me. I wish I could make them feel lucky for even just a second. I'm just one person though.

I fed one of those dogs a bit of my lunch today. I felt embarassed to go near them with so many people looking at me and wondering if I'm mad because they show no care in the world for them. I brought myself to doing it though, and I am so glad that I did. I'm sure that dog has never had a clean meal in its entire life. I can't stand to look outside the windows of our car whenever we drive around because it just depresses me. I keep thinking about the life I have and the life I used to have... The life I'm living right now.

I know that I'll always say those words. I know that I'll hate my life at times, but I should be so grateful of the life I have. I guess nobody is perfect though...

Ugh. I'm leaving to Sri Lanka this Saturday. It's a nearly seven week long trip. Dammit! I just got a break from my dad after a year of being *****ed at, and now I have to spend Christmas and New Year's with him. He's even coming back to Perth with us, so that means a lack of GameSpot and talking to friends too.

I'm sorry for mentioning this on such short notice. I've been trying to cherish the past couple of months as best as I can. I just don't want to go and I've been having these feelings that something is going to go wrong and that I'm going to regret this trip. No, it's not some Final Destination crap. I'm just worried about something else. Apparently we're going to India, Singapore and Malaysia near the end of the trip too.

No Christmas or New Year's in Australia; just humid weather and homesickness. I'll try my best to go online when I can and reply to any PMs from you guys and post the occasional blog. I'll miss GameSpot so much, but I'll miss you guys especially.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year though. I look forward to the New Year though, and being accepted into a different university. Still, it'll be weird getting used to a much larger university that's farther away from home.

Blah. I don't want to go on this trip, and I guess I'm just trying to voice my thoughts about leaving to make it even just a little bit easier.

I hope everyone is feeling well. Have a great week.

    'Sup fellas?

Got some new stuff yesterday: Pretzel got Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, Romesh got Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and I got... Uncharted 2!

I've played a few chapters of Uncharted 2 already and it just amazing. The graphics are beautiful, the sound effects and score are just grand, and the shooting, platforming, animations and everything have been kicked up a gigantic notch. I'm only in the fifth chapter and I can already tell that this is my game of the year.

From what I've seen, A Crack in Time plays like any of the previous R&C instalments. That's great but the formula looks like its aging and feels like Tools of Destruction all over again. Don't get me wrong though, I loved Tools of Destruction to bits and I know I'm going to love this game too.

I watched Romesh play a bit of the first chapter in Sigma 2 and it looks much better than the first. He actually finished the first game last week after owning it since the start of last year. The sequel looks much more slick and a bit easier (*Cough* FAIR!!! *Cough*) than its predecessor. Oh, and that whole jiggling boobs at your control thing during cutscenes is so not strange.

Oh yah, I also hit Level 28. So jah!

    Happy week!

I watched a few movies on the weekend. 3:10 to Yuma, Frost/Nixon and Gone Baby Gone. I enjoyed all three. Christian Bale is so hot.

I am currently playing through BioShock. So far, I love it. The story is awesome, the gameplay is awesome, and everything is awesome.

I made this the day before yesterday:

This is the face behind the username, synyster-666.

Thanks Crimsader. This is my first time being tagged, so jah. I don't know how many facts I'm normally meant to state, but oh well.

    1. I am a former Lankan and current Australian.

    2. I don't have a favourite film or song as I can never make up my mind about veshches like that. I can name my favourite album right now, and that is Lateralus by Tool. I really do not know which is the official album art as I downloaded the album, but here are some variants, from what I've found:

    3. I have a guy crush on Christian Bale. Not a surprise to some people.

    4. I have two dogs: Jesse (James) and Zeena.

Jesse is a Blue Heeler X Kelpie.

Zeena is a Jack Russell Terrier.

    5. I never read much as a child, so I'm quite surprised that I can speak and write in somewhat understandable English. I do have trouble with spelling at times, but thank whomever it was that invented spell-check on computers.

    6. I own a PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and a PlayStation Portable. I used to own a PlayStation, but we sold that. My old Sega Mega Drive broke a long while back.

    7. My favourite video game of all time is God of War, therefore making the God of War franchise my favourite video game franchise.

    69. Where's number eight???

    9. My first friend on GameSpot was Turbo-Evil. I don't know where he's disappeared to now.

    10. I have a penis

Anyways, I hope I didn't over do it.

Have a great weekend peoplez! Catchya.

It's my top ten list! YAY! I thought I might as well just finish the list off after numerous requests. Plus, Ron was badgering me about all these death threats he's getting in his Inbox.

I'm keeping this blog short with only a few pictures as it is from ladies five to one.

    Number Five – Jessica Alba

    Number Four – Elisha Cuthbert

    Number Three – Emmanuelle Chriqui

Number Two – Zooey Deschanel and Mila Kunis

Number One – Megan Fox, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Anne Hathaway

Like last year, I'm sorry for not being able to decide on numbers one and two.

Sorry for this being such a rushed finale and all. I'd like to thank Ivy (xlovedust) for the help with finding pictures. Thanks-ies!

Sorry for keeping this blog strictly G-rated. Again, I don't wanna be banned.

That's it for now peoplez! Catchya.

Hello and ciao. I'm just writing this blog to inform you all that I'm discontinuing my list. 'Why?' you might ask. Well, I honestly cannot be ****ed anymore. I'm too lazy. Plus, all that negative energy I'm getting from Ron (SavoyPrime) is really crampin' my style, I say. Honestly though, considering how badly I was moderated last year, I don't want to take a risk getting banned this year.

Sorry for the disappointing news. ... Oh, who am I kidding? This isn't disappointing.

Anyway, I hope you guys have a great week. Thanks for reading.

    God dammit!

Anyways, I just got my first Platinum trophy last night.

    Voila! It's the Infamous Platinum.

    Catchya gals!

  • 31Oct 09

'Sup suckas?!!! I'm on a roll motha****a's! How have you guys been?

Anyways, I'm continuing with my list. The sooner I get this done, the sooner I can lazy around.

Lady number six on my list is... Bar Refaeli.

Finally! A woman who wears a decent amount of clothing in her pics. Damn you Misa!

I only heard about her recently when she went on the cover of the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, and they showed the unveiling of the billboard advertisement on Letterman.

Funny story: My good friend, LD, actually sent me pics of most of that magazine.

Outside of the list, I've been playing a LOT of Infamous lately. I finally got around to finishing the game on Hard difficulty, and therefore earning the "Hard Finish" trophy.

The game was surprisingly easy, to be honest. I ended up enjoying the Evil story more than the Good because of the last two missions, but both stories were great overall.

I went over to Allan's house yesterday and watched him play Prototype for a few hours. He was playing it on Normal difficulty and he spent about an hour on a single friggin' boss. I was like "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?" He wouldn't even let me play Gears of War 2! Then we ended up going out to Hemi's house. He recently picked up a PS3 with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Resistance 2. I really want Uncharted 2.

We went shopping soon after, and I persuaded Hemi into buying Infamous! He bought Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm in the process too. Stupid Romesh hogged the PS3 for months playing that game last year.

Oh yah. I'm so excited for the God of War 3 Ultimate Edition! It looks soooooooooooooo awesome!

Anyway, I guess that's it for now. Catchya ladies!

  • 28Oct 09

Okay people, I'm on a bit of a roll now. Here's my number seven: Misa Campo.

I hope I don't get modded for this. It is IMPOSSIBLE to find pics of her on the internet with even the slightest bit of clothing on. ... Wait, what am I crying for? That's a good thing! ... Oh wait... no it isn't.

Well, thanks to the help of an AWESOME friend, I was able to post this blog with as many decent pics of Misa as possible. Thanks Ivy! Sorry if I tortured you with that task.

Anyway, I can't be bothered writing a wall of text like I used to last year. I'm too awesome for that now. Nah, I just think she's hawt.

Oh yah! Something kind of awesome happened today. I finally reached a minor milestone that I was meant to reach months ago, but couldn't because I got banned off the home computer. Anyways, I finally reached 5000 posts!

That's right! Drink up! Be merry! Welcome to synyster's 5K POST PARTAY!

That's it for now ladies. Catchya.

  • 25Oct 09

Hey-o people! Wutsup-wutsup? I'm really getting lazy with this list. I better finish it off soon.

Anyways, here's number eight on my list: Kate Beckinsale. I'm too damn lazy to talk about why I like her, so here are some pics.

Sorry that the last three blogs have had the same girls from my list last year. I promise that next blog will have a new girl.

Until then, catchya guys and gals later.

After many weeks of procrastination, I've decided to continue with my list as some may be becoming impatient.

The ninth lady on my top ten list is Heidi Klum. I know that she's not a favourite of most, judging by last year's reactions to this choice. Still, this is my list, so shut the **** up!

There's no real point in me explaining why I like her. If you're interested, just look up my blog from last year.

I'll just leave you all to the pictures for now.

    Ooh la la.

    Owow.

Just a minor update as well: I recently picked up BioShock for the PS3. My younger brother also picked up inFamous for me, while my older brother picked up Prince of Persia. What's theirs is mine and what's mine is NOT there's.

That's it from me, I guess. Catchya guys and gals later!

  • 24Sep 09

Depression is a ***** but Porcupine Tree amuses me.

I'm too lazy to continue my top ten list. It's on hiatus for now.

    Here's Deadwing.

  • 1Sep 09

    I turned 18!!!

But I have to spend today studying for a Math test. No strippers and alcohol for me.

    Anyway, ENJOY YOURSELVES!

  • 14Aug 09

Here's the first in a series of blogs counting down my top ten list of ladies, just like last year. I'm not going to go into as much detail as to why I have most of these lovely ladies on my list as most of them are from last year's list.

Anyway, to kick things off, the first lady on my list is... Jessica Biel!

What can I say? She is very sexy.

She's a bit of an on and off girl for me. Sometimes I wonder if I find her sexy at all, but she seems to make it into to my list every time. I wonder why.

Sorry for taking so long with this blog. I've been very busy as of late... Okay, I've actually been extremely lazy, to tell you the truth.

  • 26Jul 09

I made a series of blogs listing my top ten beautiful ladies? Well, it's coming back with quite a few changes. Hopefully I don't get moderated this time around, especially on the blog that showed off my NUMBER ONE!!!

I got friggin' suspended for that blog and had a point loss, then that moderator went through my previous blog and gave me another point loss while I was away. Anyway, I'm hoping to keep most of it G to PG rated this time around, maybe M rated at times.

I don't know when I'll start it though, and I might even end up making the list in one blog due to laziness or something. I'm actually just bringing this list up again because I'm really, really, really bored and have nothing to blog about, unfortunately. I've got an exam for Management on Thursday but I'm too distracted by some stuffy stuff that I really don't want to mention here because you'd be bored and I'd be and angry and then I'd eat heaps and get fat and have to go to the gym more often and now I realise that I'm going off on a tangent, so yeah. There are a heap of changes to the list though. Some girls have been taken out and a heap have come in. Who knows, there might even be a new number one. You're most probably thinking right now "But who could beat Megan Fox? " Well, you'd be surprised.

Oh yeah, and don't bother disagreeing with my choices. *Shows a glimpse of meh sexy Pimp hand*

Anyway, hope you guys are alright!

  • 13Jul 09

Wutsup-wutsup people? How ya guys been doing? I just wanted to say that I know the pieces fit 'cause I watched them fall away. Mildewed and smoldering, fundamental differing.

Well, I had my first tests for each of my subjects, Management & Marketing and Math. I spent almost the entire week studying for the two tests because I actually have to put some effort in this semester, unlike last.
I've been quite consistent with my Math, so the test went extremely well. I finished it with 10 to 15 minutes left, so I just went back through and corrected any mistakes I had made. I was more worried about Management though, because I hadn't even bothered going through all of my notes properly until the morning of the test. While reading through the notes though, I realised that the subject is quite straightforward and it was only the teacher making it seem difficult with the way she taught it. Hell, I was only afraid of the test because I spent most of my time in ****trying to keep myself from falling into a deep sleep.
The tests went really well though. I'm not too worried about my mark for Management because it was just a multiple choice test. The teacher did try to prevent cheating by making two test papers though, but there was no real difference between the two besides the fact that the questions in the other paper were six ahead of the other. Shrek didn't end up studying properly again, so he relied on me. Shrek and my other friends made up a little code for the test. If someone asked for help on a question, you would either scratch or tap your forehead for A, nose for B, upper lip for C, chin for D, and just in case, neck for E. Shrek copied the entire test off of me. At one point, he asked me the answer to a question, and I tapped my forehead, saying the answer was A, but the teacher saw me and was staring at me with an odd expression on her face. I must have looked a tad mentally challenged, which may have explained her expression.

I spent almost the entire week waking up early in the morning in order to study for those two tests, so I decided to rent out a couple of DVDs on Friday as a reward for myself. I got There Will be Blood and Apocalypse Now: Redux. I had wanted to watch There Will be Blood ever since I heard about Daniel Day Lewis' performance in that film. I enjoyed the film a lot in the end especially because of Lewis' performance, but more so the conflict between the two lead characters, Daniel Plainview and Eli Sunday. The ending to the film was quite comical and awesome, even though I felt really sorry for Plainview's son.

I didn't end up watching Apocalypse Now on the weekend though. I tried to watch it on Saturday, but I was too tired in the end. I watched the first 15 minutes or so and felt too sleepy to last the 3 hours and 15 minutes that the film was. I hope to watch it some other time this week though, if I do find the time to sit down for that long.

Instead of watching Apocalypse Now, I spent a good hour or two playing Skirmish mode on Killzone 2. Oh yeah, I also finished Killzone 2's campaign on Friday. After attempting the last boss for what felt like too long for a game that I was playing on the normal difficulty setting, I finally finished off Radec. What I didn't realise was that I spent nearly half an hour on Radec himself. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to go back and finish that boss on easy in order to get that trophy.
I've also spent a fair amount of time on Uncharted in the past week, and I'm in the 18th Chapter at the moment. I don't really like the turn that the game took in the 17th Chapter because I was really enjoying the whole thing to do with Eddy Raja.

I was going to do a blog on this last week, but I decided to spend more time on my studies than anything else, but I finally watched The Shawshank Redemption. I watched it hoping for what is deemed as one of the greatest films ever made, and it delivered just that. I loved every bit of that film, from Morgan Freeman's narration to the brilliant acting by both of the actors. I wanted to watch the film a second time. Scratch that; I wanted to watch it a few more times before I returned the film, but I couldn't.

Screech, Rob and I went out to watch Bruno yesterday, and Hemi eventually joined us at the cinema. The film was good, but it just wasn't as good as Borat. The film was fun to watch, but some of the scenes were just off and weren't very funny. It made up for these scenes with some very vulgar but hilarious imagery that left me quite scarred. Never as scarred as the naked fight from Borat, but almost as bad though.

I'm going to see if I can watch Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince this weekend. It is one of my favourite books and probably my most anticipated film of the year, just ahead of Moon by a little bit.

I'm sorry for not being online for the past week or so. I did go on the forums from time to time, just to show that I am a little bit active now. My dad's presence is still a pain to put up with, but he should be leaving soon. Actually, come to think of it, he told me that he would leave around the 15th of this month. Damn.

Anyway, I hope you guys have been doing well. I hope to be more active in the next few days, but I have to think some things over first.

  • 30Jun 09

    It dun make sense!

    How have you guys been?

Well, I rented out The Shawshank Redemption on Saturday, but I didn't get a chance to watch it because I was busy with Math all weekend. I had a chance on Saturday night, but as soon as I go to grab the DVD, the lights went out. They didn't come on until about ten minutes after I went to bed and I was already comfortable in the warmth of my sheets, so I didn't bother getting up and watching the film.

I watched Requiem for a Dream a second time. I think that film has already become one of my favourites, but I have a heap of other films to watch.

I haven't gamed that much in the past week. Whenever I can, I try to sneak in a bit of Uncharted into my day, but it's difficult to do so when I have to go to bed early in order to get up early the next morning for university. Management & Marketing is still boring, but the stuff is starting to make sense. I haven't bothered reading through my notes or anything, but whatever.

Has anybody finished Uncharted 100%? How difficult is it to finish it on Hard and Crushing difficulties? The same with Killzone 2? I've had a bit of trouble picking up trophies in that game, besides the level completion trophies and a few others.

I mucked around with Photoshop a bit more during the week and came up with the following:

    A Dexter avatar for Tv.com

A banner for Tv.com (Click here for the proper scale)

A few sigs and a banner (Click here for the proper scale of the banner)

They're all simple, but I like them that way. I would love to do more complex things using Photoshop, but none of the tutorials on YouTube are worth watching.

A question for anybody who uses Photoshop here: how much do you normally reduce the quality of a banner or blog header in order to fit it on GameSpot? Oh yeah, and is there a way to put a speech/thought bubble into an image using Photoshop?

Um, I guess that's it for now. I haven't got much to blog about these days. There's nothing interesting happening in my life. Well, that which I would blog about.

But yeah, I hope you guys are doing well and have a fun week.
