For the most part, I enjoy the thought of downloadable content, extra maps for Gears of War, extra songs for Rockband, heck maybe in the future they'll have extra characters for fighting games like Guilty Gear or Tekken.

However, there is some reason for concern. What is going to keep developers from "holding back" certian features they would have otherwise added to the game. Imagine playing your favorite RPG, in my case Suikoden, and finding out that in order to recruit the last 8 characters for the 108 Suiko Stars would cost an additional $ 5.99, or playing as the Manchester United and Real Madrid in Fifa will cost an additional $ 1.99 a pop,? Worst case scenario would be that the ending of a game would cost you an additional $ 10! See where im getting at? I think it was better in thePS2 days,sure, there was no chance of getting extra stuff other then actual stuff like comic books and action figues, but at least you know you were getting the complete deal and you knew where you stood.

So far, nobody has abused this feature, except maybe for EA's Need For Speed Need for Speed: ProStreet and Guitar Hero 3... but still, its only a matter of time.

I love backward compatibility, I remember using my PS2 to play Suikoden2 and Final Fantasy 9, why don't I use my PS for those games?Because it it wouldn't belogical, if my PS2 can play PS1 games thenI technically have two systems, and having one system in display is more convinient since I live in a box. The other reason is because im a nut, I believe that when a new system is "born" its time for the older one to "retire", it just hurts too much to bring the good ol girl back for one more go after I packed her away nicely in the basement.

I knowshould have gotten the 20 GB or the 60 GB, it had backward compatibility. Yes, I know the 80 gig has BC but its not the same, from what I've been hearing software BC sucks.Now, 60 GB will set me back 600 beans PLUS shipping if I buy it from the crooks at Ebay seeing how all the other stors are "sold out".

Now Wallmart is offering a "special" where if you buy the 80 gig you get a free game (aside from motorstorm). sounds good to me. problem is, I love backward compatibility and crappy BC is no BC at all.

So now I have 3 options,

1. I buy it for 600 bucks over at Ebay and hope it isn't bricked.

2. I cave in and spend about 750 clams for an 80 gig plus 4 great PS3 games (since Walmart offers 1 extra game)

3. I wait, and rant some more.

sigh... maybe I should just buy a Wii.

Im a chap that loves music, and unless you're a total n00b you do too. Weather it's a theme song from a video game or a newindie rock band, you name it, I'll listen to it. UnfortnatelyI'm also a poor chap who invests his money wisely (ie video games). So when it comes to listening to new stuff Limewire and Bittorrent are the places to go.

Now, you're probably wondering what this "art" I speak of. Well, when you download music you never know what volume the songs will come in when you play it in windows media player. For example, I recently downloaded Dan California- Red Hot Chili Peppershttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTxF7-VHyuA&feature=related. I downloaded two copies,a 4 MB version and a 6.6 MB version. Now you'd think that the 6.6 version would be a higher quality version with a high volume setting right? WRONG, the 6.6 version was crap.

Goes to show that if you want the high quality stuff your going to have to work for it, its not like you're paying for the stuff.

I finally have my icon . I feel so happy, now I can stand tall with everyone else

1. Used Bittorrent to download the episdoe

2. Then Used KMPLayer to capture as an avi.

3. Downloaded GIMP hoping to create gifs

4. Turns out GIMP is complicated as hell so used Windows Movie Maker

6. Had to go back to KMPlayer and capture screens because Windows Movie Maker can't detect the codec's of the avi

7. Spent over an hour properly ajusting the timeline so that the each pic runs at the proper time and at the proper speed (40 images)

8. Then used GIF Ninja to create it (http://www.gifninja.com/ConvertVideoToGif.aspx)

It's really sad when a good fanfic is completely killed off justbecausethe writer thinks tha the story no longer fits into the main plot. Take Impextoo's "Lady Behind the Fan" story over at fanfiction.net ( http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2352997/1/Lady_Behind_the_Fan ).

It's a story told fromLady Etsu's POV, Zuko'sfiance throughan arrainged marraigeduring the first season of AVATAR. The story had a good 6 chapters, but then Season 2 and Mai happened. So even though Lady Etsu was a a well written (and some might say a much more well rounded character) she was no match for the now canon Mai. Impextoo was leaving for collage (and probably thought Lady Etsu was outdated) soshe stopped writting the fic.

Yes, it's the nature of the beast thatfanficsmaybecome outdated, just ask any Harry/Hermione fan, butI believe thatwriters shouldn't give up when their story no longerfits the main storyline. In my opinion theirfanfics helpcreate wonderfulstories within thestories of our favorite shows. Who is to say that Zuko did not fall in love with some other waterbenderduring his first two seasons of Avatar, or that Katara did not have a boyfriend from a sister Southern Water Tribe.Or that Iroh is amutantwho fell in love with a space monkeywhich gave birth to his othersonOnku.The pointIm trying to make is that these stories haveenriched our imagination and havetouched our hearts.They may become outdated but they are never forgotten.

Iroh: (looks up) No, he wasn't.

Zuko: (couriously) What are you talking about?

Iroh: You have more then one greatgrandfather Prince Zuko, Sozin was your father's grandfather, your mother's grandfather was Avatar Roku.

Zuko: (clearly shocked, and angry, he doesnt want to believe it) Why are you telling me this?

Iroh: Because understanding the struggle between your two greatfathers can help you better understand the battle within yourself.

(Zuko falls to his knees, he now clearly understands why he suffers so much)

Iroh: (without pause) Evil and good are always at war inside you Zuko, (Zuko puts his hands on his head in shame, clearly he's on the verge of breaking down, he now realises that his destiny, is to be punished with somebody else's mistakes) It is your nature, your legacy. But, there is a bright side.

(Zuko looks up with a look of hope, he's looking for the silver lining in this "revalation")

(Iroh retreives a parcel kept in a hidden compartment, it's roku's crown)

(Iroh hands Zuko the crown, Zuko looks at it and the camera zooms out and the screen fades to black)

ok... so that means ZUKO IS GOING TO SAVE THE WORLD
