  A Xbox 360, 30 games and no way to play.

  I have owned my Xbox 360 since Decemeber of 05 I have loved everything about it. The dashboard, the games, custom soundtrack, XBLA, Movie rentals, demos and the games (did I already say that?) But a little over a year ago it happened, no not the red ring of death something worse much worse. While inserting a game I get a long pause and then my dashboard sparks "Unreadable disc error" "bah!" I screamed as I took my remote and eject the game and put it back in and viola! it worked! couple weeks past and more and more error signs are popping up "must be a scratched disc i would think to myself" it would work after a few ejects so just a minor annoyance by summer of last year it was happening to every game new or old the only thing it would work was movies so screw it time to call INDIA! w00t! I called microsoft and they said they would fix it cool got my box and lost my 360 for about 2 weeks. Comes back nothing seems different except it works again!

  By october of last year great games starting pouring out. Bioshock, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey,Blue Dragon I went on a spending spree by novemeber it happened again "unreadable disc error" OMFG! followed immeditaly by my first (and last so far) RRoD I never wanted to throw my console out the door so much but I calmed down and called INDIA again and they assured me I will get my console replaced w00t! so bye bye fall games for at least a few weeks.

  Alright got a "new" 360 and it works great for months but checking the dvd drive its the same craptastic Hitatchi! it still the same xenon board wow thought i would get a falcon but nope they gave me a refurb xenon oh well it works! well at least for a few months it did. GTA 4 is out got my pre order and ready to do whatever you do in GTA 4 I get the game and unwrap the shrink wrap and open that new game case and take a deep sniff of the inside (you know you do it) put it in and bam! "unreadable disc error! "F@$!" oh well i eject and out it in "unreadable disc error" oh crap i put in rock band and bam the game starts put in mass effect it works! ok well new copy of GTA4 i guess so i swap it out and bam "disc read error" eject and eject finally gta 4 goodness. so only gta 4 is bad? weird every other of my games work fine until a few weeks ago so i call INDIA one more time and this is what hear "I am sorry you are out of warranty send us 90 bucks and we'll fix it and extend the warranty" I hung up.

  Now what do i do? well the arcade system is dropping to 199 i could get one and get a new jasper mobo and new dvd drive a extra controller (making it a total of 4) and a memory card that might work except that is over a month away, so its off to google to see if i can fix this. 3 total fixes, something about a magnet something about a lens and then a laser. so time to tear apart a $300 piece of equipment. I am 27 years old I would have never have done this if my 360 was already bricked and out of warranty. we tried the magnet fix we oiled the track to the laser motor we did it all and plug it in and bam! totaly 100% bricked not even ejecting helps anymore, now I really screwed up.

  Thankfully for google i found a site that sells these crappy dvd drive i read everything i need to know and bought one for $70 with free shipping 4 days later I received the drive and rip my poor white brick open again swaped the dvd drive out kept the circuit board and put her back together I put in GTA 4 and first time i see (GTA 4) I almost cried I never seen my 360 just start GTA 4.

  I love microsoft I was a dummy and got on the 360 a month after released and got burned so bad but after a year I think this dvd drive will last longer than the console itself but by then the jasper will be in full force the arcade will be less than 200 bucks i think i can get at least 2 more years off this. If you see a Unreadabledisc error good luck it took me 18 months 2 returns to microsoft and 3 total calls to india and in the end i had to buy a new drive myself and install it myself.
