Yep, so this is another one of those "what does your music player really tell about you" questionnaire. And you are going to read the results, because you are just so cool. Cooler even than I, who took the ridiculously large amount of time to complete this one. Enjoy...and comment. And yeah...I reallllllllyyyyy need to focus and study. Seriously!Soundtrack of my life
1. Put your
music player of choice on shuffle
2. Scene.. first song played,
scene two = second, so on.
3. No cheating/skipping
Opening
Credits: Alan Jackson (w Jimmy Buffet) – Five O'Clock Somewhere
Already into the booze ---this can't be
good foreshadowing...
Waking Up: Keane – Somewhere Only
We Know
Aww, someday this will be true?!
An Ordinary Day:
Gran Bel Fisher – Bound By Love
They like me, they really like
me!
First Day at School: Jack Johnson – Banana Pancakes
Oh
really? I guess pancakes are a good first-day breakie?
First
Date: Amos Lee – Shout Out Loud
Haha, it wasn't that bad,
really.
Falling in Love: Diplo – Diplo
Rhythm
“gonna make it last, better know that...”
The
Rumble: Postal Service – Natural Anthem
Apparently this is going
to be a very Matix-esque fight? Strange music, but possibly
fitting!
The Break Up: The Eagles – Tequila Sunrise
At
least I'll have something to get me through...
Getting Back
Together: Tegan and Sarah – Your Love
Romantic
Prom:
Anya Marina – Miss Halfway
Interesting -- “says I'm imperfect
in every way” - I didn't feel quite that bad, despite the
chicken
Life's OK: Joe Purdy – I Love the Rain the Most
Aww,
its simple and pretty.
Mental Breakdown: Gone – Montgomery
Gentry
If I ever crack, I will be GONE!
Driving: Snow
Patrol – You Could Be Happy
Works for me
Maybe I'll travel.
Or never experience road rage. Or just enjoy the ride that is
life!
Flashback: The Faders – Better Off Dead
Oh, right,
this is SO encouraging. I better not regret stuff!
Wedding:
Joe Diffie – Third Rock From the Sun
Seriously? SERIOUSLY? The
guy is freakin cheating on his wife – but she takes revenge,
muahaha! “Cause and effect, chain of events, all of the chaos makes
perfect sense”
Dance Song: Anna Nalick – Wreck of the
Day
Its nice slow song – perfect for dancing with my special guy
when I've had a bad day. I can see it now...its like a movie in my
head!
Regretting: Emiliana Torrini – Nothing Brings Me
Down
Good...I may regret stuff, but I'm not going to get stuck in
a rut of hindsight.
The Long Night Alone: Chamillionaire –
Ridin'
Really? That is going to be a very interesting night.
Sex Scene: Tim McGraw – Country Boys and Girls
Apparently
its going to be in the bed of a pick-up. Classy chick that I am...
Birth of a Child:
Alabama – Mountain Music
And I shall name him Billy-Sue. And if
it a girl, she shall be called...well...Billy-Sue.
Final
Battle: Butterfly Boucher – Never Leave Your Heart Alone
“and
its open for distruction” --- this is going to be painful, isn't
it?
Death Scene: Vince Gill – Nothin' But the Tailights
I
am going to be mugged, killed, and dumped out of a pick up truck.
Maybe after my sex scene?
Funeral Song: Justin Timberlack –
Sexy Back
That's right – even in death, I will be
spectacular!
End Credits (Finally): George Strait – Amarillo
By Morning
Okay! I'll be happy, doing what I love...that's a good
life. Until I die.- Posted Dec 10, 2006 3:08 pm PT

22Nov 06A Friend of mine showed me this - and I'm running with it. Its too true, and too comforting not to share - so, at the risk of breaking my "sporadic-blogging" rule, I'm sharing it with you all.
Turning 20
They call it the "Quarter-life Crisis."
It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are many things about yourself that you didn't know and may not like. You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now.
You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones.
What you don't recognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren't really cold, catty, mean or insincere, but that they are as confused as you.
You look at your job... and it is not even close to what you thought you would be doing, or maybe you are looking for a job and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you.
Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly adding things to your list of what is acceptable and what isn't.
One minute, you are insecure and then the next, secure. You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life.
You feel alone and scared and confused. Suddenly, change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past with dear life, but soon realize that the past is drifting further and further away, and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward.
You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you. Or you lie in bed and wonder why you can't meet anyone decent enough that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you love someone but love someone else too and cannot figure out why you are doing this because you know that you aren't a bad person.
One night stands and random hook ups start to look cheap.
Getting wasted and acting like an idiot starts to look pathetic.
You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision.
You worry about loans, money, the future and making a life for yourself... and while winning the race would be great, right now you'd just like to be a contender!
What you may not realize is that everyone reading this relates to it. We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this whole thing out.- Posted Nov 22, 2006 11:21 am PT

28Sep 06Its me! I'm here! I'm alive! And I'm back at school.
Plus, just to top it off, I'm happy!
Last time I posted here - well, it was a long time ago. The beginning of summer, and all that summer implies: summer jobs, tans, drinks, sun, and most importantly, flipflops!
But, alas, summer has ended, fall has commenced, and I find myself in my third year at university. Only one more to go after this year, and I'm going officially be an "adult". Adult, as in, ready to go out into the real world, find a job, get a car, an apartment, and a puppy.
Speaking of growing up - is it just me or is EVERYONE seeming to be getting engaged lately? Seriously, everytime I turn around, someone has a beautiful sparkly rock on their left ring finger. Craziness! I'm not ready for that in my life - but I do sincerely wish them the best because they are all just SO happy right now!
As of now though, I am happy, too! I am living with some great friends! Classes are going well, though my Contemporary Theory course (sociology) is boringly fatalistic by the simple fact that it is Theory. Fall is pretty. Dreams are growing, and decsions are being made.
And Grey's Anatomy is back on the air with new episodes! Both seasons are on DVD. Ditto for the soundtracks. Being the big loser that I am, these things make me smile, and giggle, and, overall, be okay with life.
Life is good. Busy as all get-out, but good.
So how are YOU doing?

14Jun 06Well, again, its been a VERY long time since my last entry. Heck, I don't know if anyone even checks my little corner of TV.com anymore! But, if you happen upon this, I hope you are well!
Summer is here, and with that comes summer-job time. Oh, the joys. For the next four months, I'm a member of the "real world", attempting to pay for my next year of uni. Anyhow, I'm pretty busy with that; I'm usually putting in 10-13 hr days, so my life is basically wake up, work, get home, shower, eat, sleep...repeat.
But it IS summer, afterall, and so I can't complain! This is my fave time of the year...the sun, heat, and life around me never ceases to make me happier. This is going to be a good one and so I hope you will enjoy it as much as I will!
Ta ta, for now!- Posted Jun 14, 2006 5:08 pm PT

On Wednesday, my Vietnam-Era Literature class took a field trip to see the musical "Hair".
So, we went to the Toronto production...I can't remember what theater it was at; not one of the big ones, thats for sure, but it was still downtown by the Hummingbird Centre and such (for those who know the geographic area and thus care about the location, haha!).
I thought the actual production and performances were done well. Nothing exceptional, but quality entertainment. Not that I can accurately judge this, since I have very little knowledge of what constitutes a "good" musical! It was fun when the songs "Age of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In" and "Hair" were performed...they always make me want to dance.
It was an interesting representation of an era that was before my time, and yet has a legacy of great proportions! Nevertheless, it seemed to me to be based basically on the stereotypes of the "Hippie" era. I also didn't agree with all of the political/ideological components found within the production or the representation of said issues. Perhaps I am mistaken, or too critical.
The most unexpected part of the performance had to be the scene just prior to the intermission, during which the ENTIRE cast faces the audience stark-naked and sings an entire song! What an image to have burned onto your retinas as you go for the intermission, eh?!
Overall, I had a good time! I would definitely recommend it to you, if it sounds like your type of thing. Personally, it wasn't what I would go see for myself, however the majority of my class was raving about it afterwards, so I must be in the minority with regards to opinion!
Anyway, just thought I'd share this with you all! And give the production some free endorsement!
Until next time...keep your clothes on!

Its been awhile since I've posted a blog! Thanks to everyone who wished me well over Reading Week. I had a great time! I went and visited with family down in Florida for the week, got a sunburn, ate some wonderful food, did some spectacular shopping, and just had a blast...and did absolutely NO homework whatsoever! Yay!
So I have 3 weeks left in my semester here at university. Well, more like 2.5! There is just soooo much to do before then. Classes end April 7th, and then I have exams...I'm not too worried...yet!
Tonight is the birthday party for a couple of friends who have their birthday's on the same day. Its going to be a welcome, and much needed break! I'm so very stressed out...yuck! Anyway, I don't usually drink, but I'm betting I'll have one tonight
I can't wait until the JAG DVD comes out! Its about time! I usually don't buy the box sets, but I think I will for JAG. As the seasons are released, I probably won't buy each one...just the key ones that I really enjoyed...I just don't have the money for all of them, even if it is spread over a long period of time. So, I'm thinking of buy season 1, 2,4, and 8. Anyone have an opinion on this? Bring on the month of June!
So, I'm officially addicted to Grey's Anatomy!!! I never thought that I would say this, and I totally blame it on my housemates! Its the perfect means of escapism. I guess something had to fill the JAG void. I'm definitely a MerDer shipper... Oh McDreamy! Fun stuff!
Ok, what else? It spring!! How wonderful is that?!?! It doesn't feel like it yet, but it gives me hope. I love warm weather. I love sunshine. I love green grass, blue skies, and trees with leaves. Winter is nice, but spring and summer rock my world!
I'm done! I told you this would be about "random thoughts of interest"!
Hope everyone is well!- Posted Mar 22, 2006 12:32 pm PT

16Feb 06What is a "Reading Week" you may ask? A very good question, my friend! Basically, in most Canadian universities, "Reading Week" is the official name for our spring break! I believe we gained this tradition from our historical British roots, though I may be mistaken. It is a week-long break from school, where we are 'supposed' to catch up on reading, assignments, and studying. Trust me, this objective is NEVER achieved! Whatever Reading Week's original intentions may have been, it has essentially evolved into spring break! I have friends who are heading down to warm, beautiful places, like Panama, Mexico, and West Palm Beach...as if any studying is going to happen there!!!

My plan was to do a midterm today (Thursday) and then skip out tomorrow, since 2/3 of my classes were cancelled. But, plans change, and this time for the better. I woke up this morning only to find that the university had declared a SNOW DAY!! Classes and midterms were cancelled, and so my Reading Week basically started this morning at 8 am! How exciting, eh!?! You need to realize how exceptional this is....my institution never cancels school. I honestly believe that the end of the world could be upon us, and we would be in class! So, for this to happen is a miracle...a beautiful, perfect, I-could-not-ask-for-anything-better event! Rock On!
Thats it for me this time around. Enjoy your next week...I know I will be!

19Jan 06Its Thursday night, at 8:42 pm and I am SO bored! So, what am I going to do? Try something new...this new thing being writing my first blog ever! How exciting,eh?
Last night I went out with a couple of friends to the on campus pub to see a random band that I had never heard of before play. The band was "The Next Best Thing", and they are classified as kinda-Reggae/kinda-ska. Have I ever been interested in such music before? No. Did I have fun? You bet! They're a somewhat local group out of the GTA (can't remember where exactly!). So, if you ever get the opportunity, check them out. Even if you aren't into that kinda music, you'll find yourself having a great time with fun music!
So, our federal election is coming up on Monday. Who will win, oh who will win. For those who don't know, its basically between Paul Martin (current Prime Minister, Liberal Party) and Stephen Harper (current opposition leader, Conservative Party). Its going to be an interesting election. There's a lot of issues at hand this time around. Oh, the drama! Government scandals, social policies, and much much more...oh trust me,you don't want to miss this one! I used the advanced-polling station to vote early, and now all I can do is stil back and encourage my fellow Canadians to get out there and perform their civic duty.
THAT MEANS YOU (if you are, as I said, my fellow Canuck!).
Alrighty, well its off to do some reading for one of my courses. Hope you got at least a brief, itty-bitty, small bit of entertainment out of reading this, haha! Come back soon
Cheers!
