  Top Ten Games of 07. 10-6

  2007 was a great year for gaming. Tons of great games and finally the consoles are all bringing out the big guns. It is really tough to pick out a top ten but lets give it a go anyway.
  
  10.Super Mario Galaxy(Wii)
  A new mario in 3d and I still dont think its the best thing since sliced bread like others. Dont get me wrong some of the things this game does is quite ingenious but it is still the same old mario. It feels new enough to get through atleast 2 hours. Then it just sorta fizzles out. Thats when you need to take a break from it. To be honest I just dont like the way it is set up. Go into a level to get a specific star set on a specefic goal. Its not very adventerous. I would rather it be a bit more free form if anything. Like all the stars are in the level and you just have to find them.
  All in all though it is still a very high calibur game of 2007.
  
  9.Gundam Musuo(PS3)
  Take Dynasty Warriors a game I am not so big on then mix it with Gundams. What do you have? One of the most awesome games of 2007. It does change the Warriors formula alot. Makes it feel alot more streamlined and the selection of suits used in the game is pretty good. Granted this game would be about 5 places higher if it had Heavy Arms and Deathscythe in it. But there you go. Just total fun start to finish. Plenty of modes and characters to play with. Wing Zero=Rape Time thats all that needs be said.
  
  8.Pokemon Diamond(DS)
  Hey its POKEMON! Back when the first wave of games hit all the way back in like 1998 I loved it. I was a pokefreak if you will. My best mate got the game before me and he just bought a gameboy for the sake of pokemon. (Little known fact thats all he owns on handheld systems). It was just an insanely great time in my childhood. However after Red N Blue it died on its toosh. So here comes the latest entry in the series and it feels like a return to form. What makes this a better entry to go into is the new pokemon introduced. Plenty of new ones to actually make the game feel new. It is still standard pokemon fare but at this point thats all it needs. Perfect combo of nostalgia and newness.
  
  7.Tenchu Z(360)
  Granted this game should be on nobodies list. However for me this game is the most dumb fun you can have on the 360. Yes everything repeats itself and it isnt all that great. Yet this game compelled me to do all the missions and I had a hella fun time doing it. Highly recommend this game especially as it will no doubt be going for cheap. Finally CREATE YOUR OWN NINJA! XD
  
  6.Final Fantasy III (DS)
  This game is proof that the DS can put out some amazing graphics. Everything about this game feels right. However the lack of direction on where to go definately knocks this game down a few places. Use of the touch screen in battle is great. All in all a great package.
  
  Ok so next time 5-1. And I will prob flesh these out a bit better soon.

  2008:Devil May Cry 4. I want you.

  2008 has arrived! With it comes not so many huge games. To be honest with this year there isnt a game that is screaming out at me to go buy it day one. Mind you it is still early doors in the 08 so there is plenty of time for mega awesome games to come along. The only thing that has me slightly excited is Devil May Cry 4!
  
  Now I havent really played much of the Devil May Cry series. It would seem odd that I am really hyped for the 4th entry in the series. I am starting to think it is cos of the fact Capcom has decided to shift focus to a new main character aka Nero.
  This must all relate back to the fact I LOVE Metal Gear Solid 2. Which we all know features new boy Raiden as the main character. Is it possible for this new character debut lightning to strike twice?
  But that aside. I played a little of Devil May Cry and was like "hmm yeah it seems ok". I bought Devil May Cry 2(the only one I have purchased). Now this is viewed as the worst in the series. Obviously I am not the best judge of that. From what I played(about an hour) it seemed pretty cool.
  The final entry Devil May Cry 3. Not going to lie but I only played the bit at the credits where you can just totally take out tons of enemies. I would play the whole game but the difficulty does put me off a bit. Though to be fair I may buy the special addition with Virgil in it.
  Devil May Cry as a concept and series intrigues the hell out of me. Stylish shooting and swordsplay, interesting characters, story that seems quite cool. All in all it seems like a tight package.
  Just seeing screens of Devil May Cry 4 makes me just sit and go "OMG I need this game right now!". The huge news is that it is now no longer a Sony exclusive and it will now be on the Xbox 360 aswell. Usually I side with the 360 version but now I am totally getting hooked on my PS3.
  
  Which is insane. This is a console I said before it got released that I wouldnt buy it and it had no games. Now I love the multimedia feautres and it just seems much more easy to use than the 360. Cos the 360 blades on the dashboard are one of the most annoying feautres ever.
  Another aside. Back to the point.
  
  For some reason Devil May Cry 4 just seems right on the PS3. It still retains the acheivements from the 360 version and the install at the start of game will pretty much rid it of load times.
  I honestly cant wait till February when it comes out. Could it be one of my top ten games of 08 by the time 09 comes?
  Who knows?!
  
  Wow thats a lot of words on Devil May Cry 4. Which is actually not what I was going to write about at the start of this.
  Next blog will be my "Top Ten Games of 2007"

  P.S: New Retro Gamer has a story about a possible Burning Rangers sequel on the Wii. All I am going to say is right now I am ORGASAMING on that thought.
  One day I will write a whole entry on Burning Rangers. One of the finest Sega Saturn titles ever.

  Gold Baby!

  I have finally acquired Xbox Live Gold. I took the jump with the Xbox Vision which game with a slew of free stuff. So far I have been enjoyiing playing Uno on live though I could do without the guys on cam just wearing boxers and thats it. No offense but if you are publicly playing a game like that put a tshirt and some jeans on seriously nobody wishes to see you in just boxers.
  
  Played some Street Fighter 2 which I will admit I suck at but I did face those pesky Pshyco Crusher and Hundred Slap spammers. In the same ilk is Mortal Kombat 3 in which I have to say the same sorta thing happens people seem to go Scorpian and his various doubles and spam out the same stuff. I can see why people would do it but in the interest of fairness would it not be fair to mix it up a bit.
  
  Indirect cheating in the form of Banksot Billiards 2 i.e having the aiming aid up at 3. There is no challenge in playing the game if you know exactly how your shot is going to play. Half the fun of playing pool is just hitting the balls and hoping by the grace of the big man it goes in. I won't mention the name of said offender but it is just something frustrating. If I knew he was at level 3 aiming aid I would have done the same but there is no way to tell before getting into a game.
  
  This month is seriously action packed with games but there is just too much other stuff going on with my life right now to dedicate wholly to games. Like nearly all my friends have their birthdays in this month quite annoying.
  
  Anywho look out for LARIATO on Uno or any other game. Happy to play against anybody at anygame. Also just send freind requests and all that great stuff I will definately add you.
