I was wrong
Okay, maybe I was dead (or atleast computer dead), but I think I'll be more consistent now since we started to sort out some computer issues, though the one i can use doesnt have sound.
That's about it, I'll be catching up with my BN reviews soon, and probably will be launching some blogs looking at my favorite bands/albums.

Blackest Night Month One: In Review
I was waiting to do this until i got tales of the corps issue 2, but thats not gonna happen any time soon though, so here's my issue by issue review of Blackest Night in July. spoilers Follow
Green Lantern Corps 38- This was also the last part of Emerald Eclipse, but i consider it BN because it is the issue where the black rings are unleashed, and was printed in July. It starts with the destruction of Oas shell, which will obviously be important in Blackest Night and as always with Tomasi, features a well scripted Kilowog. If they ever make a Kilowog series, which i hope they dont because it would be ridiculous to do so, Tomasi should write it. This issue also has the aftermath of Soranik finding out Sinestro is her dad, another important aspect of BN likely. After a next to worthless scene on Daxam, because we knew what would happen in it anyways, and it only needed to be 2 panels not 2 pages, we have the meat of the story, Kyle and Guy trying to stop the executions of Sciencell prisoners. Its a really good scene which show Guy and Kyle trying to hang on to an ideal, and having a half victory. Theyre then banned to Earth for a little while. The last page is the aforementioned scene where the black rings burst from an asteroid. Im not sure of the signifigance of an Asteroid blowing up and black rings coming out of them, but it could have something to do with Nekron being the big bad, as revealed in interview. Its also interesting to note that the color specctrum surrounded the rigs when they bursted out of the asteroid. Art in the series is okay, as usual, but nothing special like it usually is in Green Lantern v4. Storys also pretty good, as usual
7.5/10
Green Lantern 43- this is the official prologue to BN, and a brillaint one at that too. After a standard Scar introduction, which we should probably get use to for BN tieins, we go into a hauntingly brillaint monologue from Black Hand which explains his origin story all too well. In this one issue, he goes from being a second string loser rarely used past the 60s to a crazed psychopath who sleeps with dead bodies. Even in his early days, hes made to seem less wimpy. Really creepy and has the feel of 50s horror to it. The page when he puts on his mask reminds me of Dr Hurt from Batman RIP. When Black speaks to him, the story loses some pace but not much. Still a good scene. The scene where he kills his family is twisted and brillaint at the same time.Doug Mahnke does a great job artwise also. Everything, down to the cover, is brillaint
9.75/10
Blackest Night 0- This didnt come out in July, but it comes in order chronologically after GL 43, so ill review it now. First off, I love the narrative in this issue. this is stuff that my mind keeps constantly saying for some reason...Barry and Hals conversation is brilliantly scripted as well. Ivan Reis does a great job with it also. I hope he gets to do Flash sometime after Rebirth, with Johns. Him and Van Sciver have similar strengths it seems, but their art is entirely different. Both should work with Johns as often as possible (Same goes with Mahnke) The stroy doesnt say much, though i supoose thats okay because its free, besides the awesome black lantern oath of course. Geoff Johns also wrote an interesting one page foreword to BN. Its pretty intriguing. Some of the Corps Bios following are nice, but the Indigo one only shows you what they look like, which we already got a glimpse of in the SCW. The Black Lantern one tells next to nothing about them as well, and the pictures not even particualy cool. I would give this a 7, but the fact that it's free boosts it up half a star.
7.5/10
Tales of the Corps 1- This series i almost considered not getting, becuase of the price tag, but im glad i got this issue, even though its way overpriced. It starts with a brillaint Saint Walker origin story by Geoff Johns. It's really good, but even the scenes at the end and beggining when its not in a flashbackarent particularly important to BN, but that doesnt mean this isnt a good story. 8.5/10 I like Tomasis Mongul story a bit less. Its okay, I guess, and Tomasi shows Mongul as a brat, which is important to understanding the character, but the art is pretty lackluster, and the story takes too much space up. 6.5/10 The issue concludes with a story about the Indigo Tribe. I was able to make some minor sense out of it, like that they may well be the opposite of black, but i cant understand that on the level of the emotional spectrum, and it doesnt conect to compassion, other than that, compassion is nearly the opposite to death. because that represents warm, while death is cold. 7/10 Not Johns best work, but will probably make some sense. I was dissapointed in seeing reprints of the BN 0 corps bios as well, overall has a dissapointing price tag, and dissapointing stories.
7.5/10
Blackest Night 1- This is really a great issue. The issue starts strong, and keeps on through. it mostly overviews all the death in the dcu. Hals arrative is pretty much all about it, and the fact it takes place on hero rememberance day theres even more opportunity to show death. When Barry asks Hal how many died since he was gone and he shows him on a spread page, i realized how awesome this events gonna be. Johns does a better job at Barry Allen here than in Flash Rebirth... I love how this story showcases all the heroes of the dcu, and actually does a good job, unlike FC. The Scar and the Gaurdians scene is also pretty awesome. Shows little faults, though it has some filler, and Reis does a great job with the art. Im really looking forward to this issue.
9.5/10
Tales of the Corps 2- Icouldnt find this anywhere, and never subscribed to this miniseries, but i read the red lantern story on dcs website. Great story by Johns, though once again, not particularly important. I am guessing this wouldve been a waste of money hadi bought it.
For that story, a 7/10
Tales of the Corps 3- I really wish i didnt get this issue Stay Away from it. The first issue is a Kilowog origin story, which is good and insightful, but hardly necessary whatsover for BN, or anything for that matter. The arts pretty lacking here also 7/10 The Arisia story, however is pretty bad. Mediocre art, mediocre, story, and no relevance whatsover. A dissapoinment coming from Tomasi. I wish we had an original Johns story in here. 4/10 The next story is a horrid commentary behind BN 0, something we already all read for free. The only good thing about this is seeing Reis' pencilling
If i never read bn 0, this would be 5/10, but because i did 4.5/10 Hope we never see a worse bn tiein.
Green Lantern 44- This is my final review for now. Though this has some filler in it, this storys a great tiein. Further proof of this being the ultimate Hal/Barry teamup. This is really your first look at what a black lanterns is like, with Martian Man Hunter. its a really interesting take on the character. The scene with Scar is a great one. Im beggining to like Scars character This scene has some good insght on her. Menawhile im really looking forward to Johns storyline. Theyve really been building the whole Zanshi thing and it looks like we're about to get a payoff. Once again, great work from Doug Mahnke.
9/10
PS is Xanshis people rising, or is it the planet itself...
Yep, great series. I still havent got anything from this month, but ill probably review month 2 sometime in the next week or 2.
Also, looking forward to seeing Heaven and Hell, Black Sabbath with Ronie James Dio, tommorow, though the opening band, Coheed and Cambria, look like a pretty bad band.
