Hiya!
So, I've been extremely absent from the site for some time now. Rachel and I recently bought a townhouse and moved, I also started a new job at Tellabs. Between the two, I have barely had time to do anything, and coming here has fell to the lower portion of my "daily activity" list, somewhere right below sleeping and eating.
We will hopefully be done unpacking soon, or at least done enough so I can take some pictures and show off
. It's a 3 bed, 2.5 bath, I can say that much.
Also, since I started a new job, I'm obviously no longer at Game Crazy (thank jebus). As much as I love video games, I absolutely loathe video game retailers. GameStop is by far the worst, but the way that Game Crazy is run, it's not too far behind in terms of awful upper management and treating employees like sweat-shop workers. I could write an entire blog about the inhumanities of their practices, but I will refrain. I still shop there, but only because I really grew to care for the store and the employees since I worked there for 18 months.
My new job is great, though. It's my first "actual" job in an office and everything. If you're unfamiliar with Tellabs, there is a link to fill you in. Basically, I am a web application intern, which means I help with some coding and database work while trying not to screw things up. The stuff we're working on is internal, though, so no one will really be able to see the fruits of my labor. It's only a summer position at the moment, but I'm getting paid literally 2.25 times as much as I was at Game Crazy, don't have to work weekends, and don't have to stand all day, so I'm OK with that. I love it there so far, looking forward to learning a lot and hopefully getting hired after my internship comes to a close.
If you want to stay in touch with me, I do come here daily to check my PMs and stop in on my favorite boards, but I don't know how much time I'll be able to devote to regular posting habits at the moment.
So, for those that don't know I (unfortunately) work at a GameCrazy. We don't do trades on Dreamcast games any more, but occasionally get some people that want to sell them to us. Well, the other day, we got a call from a guy saying he had like 100 games he wanted to get rid of. I collect games, and recently re-bought a Dreamcast, so I said "Sure! Display your wares for me, kind sir!". *Note: I didn't really say that*
So, today he shows up with 35 of his games and I took a gander and bought all of them. Here is a list of what I got, and one thing to note is that these are all complete, with case manual and the discs are all in great shape.

ALL of this stuff for only $80, which comes out to a little over $2 a game...Some of these games are worth $20 alone...So I made out like a bandit. He also said he has some more games he might be willing to part with.
Also, for some reason our store was having a weird Sega game sale, so I got Condemned 2 brand new for $30. PLUS the MGS4 Saga 2 DVD came in with the beta token. Man...It was a good day for gaming...
So, I was tagged by both MoonFoxx and CodingGenius and instead of doing 5 things, I figured I should do 10. I guess I'm just popular with the ladies ![]()
1) I am lactose intolerant. And yes, it does suck.
2) I collect several things including but not limited to: Star Wars memorbilia, video games, DVDs and CDs.
3) I (currently) have 3 tattoos. I have pictures, but don't want to post them. I have a heart over my heart, a star on my right ankle/calf and the word name?" in my right armpit. There is a story behind the last one, but I'll save that for later ![]()
4) My iTunes library currently has 17015 songs, 1055.2 days worth and tips the scales at 88.47 gigs. Yes, I own about 90% of that in CD form.
5) I am a music snob and have a Last.fm account.
6) I have played bass guitar for over 15 years, but haven't played recently.
7) I have been dating my girlfriend, Rachel, for over 4 years. We just bought a townhouse and will probably be engaged very soon.
8.) My favorite game ever is Ms. Pac-Man. I plan on buying the table top bar version very very soon to go in our basement.
9) Charles Bronson is my idol. I have a signed photo of him and plan on getting a big ass portrait of him tattooed on my arm.
10) My favorite place on Earth is St. Simon's Island in Georgia. We used to go there every year as a family reunion of sorts with my mom's side...And then went several times with Rachel. It's amazing there.
I think that about covers it...So, I'm gonna tag me some DrFish62, m0zart, solidruss, LJS9502_basic, and Chevolutionary.
I love Rock Band because it is no where near as difficult as Guitar Hero on hard. I was able to breeze through hard and only failed one song, the song in the last tier by Boston. I had never really heard the song before, and I think that's why I failed cause I 4 or 5 starred it the 2nd go.
Unfortunately, my guitar body count is now 2. My first guitar the strum bar pooped out on me, this time around the guitar just straight up turned off while I was playing. Just died, wouldn't get power at all. So, that sucks. When the GH3 controllers come out individually I'll probably pick one up and trade in the Rock Band one just in case.
I have some breaking news that isn't news...yet...
Call of Duty 4 will have a GOTY edition due out in April. This can only mean that a map pack, or better still, map packS are on the way sooner than I thought.
If this gets announced in the next few days/weeks, just be aware that you heard it here first...![]()
