The advertising agency I work at just recently sold a whole bunch of older desktop and laptop computers to employees that were interested. They are all a few years old, and the OS on them were mostly windows 2000. So I picked up a Dell c640 with a pretty good processor, 512mb of Ram (upgradable to 1gb), running windows 2000 for 150 bucks!![]()
I ended up going down to Tiger Direct ( I live in N Carolina, they have the outlets here) and picked up the OEM Full retail version of windows XP home for 85 bucks, and a wireless b/g card for 19.99. All said and done I have a nice simple laptop for Internet use and email for under 300 dollars. It's no gaming machine, but it's nice to have a laptop for traveling. I have a vacation coming up in September so that will be really nice!
This way I can continue to put a few bucks aside out of each paycheck to get a really nice gaming laptop down the road. That will be awhile I'm sure, so PC gaming will have to stay at my Desktop!![]()
It's been a crazy few months, but I should be more visable here. I hope those of you that have the 4th off have a great day (US holiday) I'm planning on doing nothing but relaxing and playing some games. Enjoy the day folks!
Well, it's Tuesday late night now... but anyways...
So I boot up the computer Friday morning before work to do a few things, and all works fine... I come home from work and boot up and what do you know? "Windows can not load" message appears.... filth foul filth! This is now the third time this has happened in just over a year.
I will not name said computer, but I did pay good money for this, and on top of it all I paid for an extra 3 years of "service". The 3 times I've called support, they have told me it's a software issue, and it's not covered by the service. This company doesn't give discs for repair, they partition the drives with a factory reset...
Soooo, I challenge the fine fellow named "Bob" that the corrupt software on the covered "hardware" is indeed faulty, and it would then be their problem, with that they finally sent me repair discs...
I spent all weekend fixing this damned problem.. people need to own up and just fix it when it's wrong. I hate the corporate answers![]()
I'm playing in spurts since I'm very busy these days... but just last night I spent almost 2 hours on the side "Missions"... I'm kinda biased on this since FF7 is by far in my opinion one of the very best games out there. I've played that gem through 5 times![]()
If you like Final Fantasy, get this game. Do it.. you won't regret it. Don't let the battle system throw you off, like Kevin stated in the review you get used to it, and very quickly I might add.
That is all... carry on![]()
I'm not usually into these things, but I've been informed that I've been tagged so here's the short list:
Disclaimer: If you frequent the Moderator Collective some of this is old news
- I play the Cello (for about 25 plus years now)
- I love Jazz music
- I collect Shot Glasses
- I haven't watched a wrestling event in over 2 years
- I like cheese
There you have it, and it's all true! Sooooo, if I have to "tag" someone I'll go ahead and tag Robbie_IV, Egonga, shaunmc, and JodyR... I'm hella curious if they respond![]()
I downloaded the service pack for Vista. I have to say, I'm impressed. I see some programs work faster, and better. Not bad in my opinion... Hopefully people have good results with this...
