  new games i got

  i bought 3 new pc arcade games. scavenger ($7) and astro avenger 2 ($10) and snowy treasure hunter 2 ($10).. i already had snowy treasuer hunter and wanted snowy treasure hunter 2. i was going to buy air strike 3d but it is too expensive. $18 is too much for that game. i also want trine and braid and kino 1. so i am really happy with the new games i purchased. good times.

  i plan to get forza 3 tomorrow. can't wait to play it!

  a new pc arcade game

  i was trying out some of these little arcade games that you can buy pretty cheap. i tried out about 10 of them and found one that is really good. a game called scavenger. this game is alot of fun. basically you fly around in your space ship killing aliens and collecting jewels. to move your ship, you use the mouse to choose a direct and left mouse button to use your thrusters. then you use your right mouse button to fire your weapon. you have to watch your fuel and shiels as well. bumping into walls causes your sheild to go down. this game has a nice techno soundtrace and great sound effects and graphics. read more about it here. there is a free demo you can download.

  got a new garmin 205w gps

  i went to bestbuy today and spent $99 on a new handheld gps. this thing is cool. it is portable and has a little screen on it and a gps antennae. and a car mounting kit. it did not come with an ac adapter but there are other ways to recharge the battery. you can use the car charger or a usb cable. luckily, i had a usb cable that fit. it also has a sd memory card slot and i had a 259mb sd card for it which can be used to update maps or view pictures. the map is cool. it shows you where you are at all times. you must have a clear view of the sky. and it will tell you what address you are at. it has nice 3d maps. shows you what gas stations are nearby and all kinds of stuff. pretty cool. i think i will put it in my car.

  and about games... i haven't got anything new other than halo 3 odst and modern warfare 2 and i am still playing mass effect. i plan to get a used copy of forza 3 when i get paid from work. that's it for now! have a nice day!

  things i am doing

  ok i haven't got my inheritance yet but i am expecting it shortly. when i get it i will be buying some new games. i will get dragon age origins, operation flashpoint 2 and maybe brutal legend. i made a video of of2 you can see here.

  i have a new game for my pda called chopper rescue. there are a bunch of windows mobile games you can get for cheap. this one cost $2.99. i like the iphone because it has a touchscreen and has better games but i can't afford to pay $40 per month plus $30 per month for data. (web pages) and there are a bunch of others too like the android and blackberry and stuff. there are lots of them.

  so i plan to get a garmin gps. my friend had one and they are great. a nice little handheld that you can use in your car or whatever. i plan to get one of those. they are only about $100 and really cool.

  made over 13k posts! and new games i am playing!

  finally made it over 13k posts. it took a while but i have made it. i am just a gamespot addict and i will not stop... i am just a posting machine!! lol.

  so i tried some new games today.

  some nice little pc arcade games from alawar games.

  i especially like top down shooters.

  for example.

  airstrike 3d

  hyperspace invaders

  warblade

  space strike

  if you want to try something different, check out platypus on alawar.com. it is a claymation shooter! really cool.

  and i like scavenger alot. available as a free download from alawar.com. really, really great space shooter type game!

  and i think nation red and grid are totally awesome! some new pc games i got from steam.

  level 49 and new banner!

  ok so my promise to not post anymore blogs has not gone well. i wanted to tell you all that i am level 49, getting close to level 50. my friend private adam is still higher level than me!!! (i will catch you!!!) and i made a new banner for my profile. what do you think of it?

  oh and games... yes of course... i am playing modern warfare 2 and i love it. that's about it for new games!

  my honey is still talking to me even though i got really drunk at her party... lol. one of her friends was coming on to me. asked me out to see a movie. and she was cute too.

  my job is going fine. i wash RVs. nothing really that great. but i got a full time job with people i like so i am happy.

  my last blog for the year

  ok i had to tell you guys about 2 new free games and my thoughts on mw2. first of all i love mw2. i saw the airport massacre scene which i didn't like at all. killing innocent civilians is not what i expected from this game. but overall i like the game. my favorite genre is fps type games and this one is a good one.

  and another thing... there are 2 great games i want to tell you about and they are free. first one is c&c gold. a really great rts that is alot of fun. and also, counter-strike 2d. this is not the commercial version of counterstrike but it is a fan-made 2d version. it is multi-player and a pretty good game that you can download for free.

  taking a long break from gamespot

  thanksgiving is coming soon. and this is a time of year i like to spend with my family. i think i will go to mom's house and have turkey this year. mom always makes a great thanksgiving dinner. and then i get leftovers to take home with me which is nice because i am always running out of food. so i won't be posting anymore blogs for a while. i am going to buy modern warfare 2 and you might see me on xbox live playing that. mw2 is really the only game i am interested in. games are expensive and there isn't anything else i want. i don't think i will be buying any new games other than mw2.

  your free game for today

  i like free games. and i know everyone does. so here's a treat for you. this is a game called death rally which has now been made free for download by the public. i was playing this game a long time ago on my pc. it was tons of fun. but i couldn't get it working on my new vista pc. this new version is totally free and it works on vista! and i am sure it works on xp too! so check it out. a really cool top down racing game.

  The basic idea behind Death Rally: win races, gather more money, buy upgrades to your vehicle. In between wreck your opponents, shoot your way through bystanders and keep the pedal to the metal!

  old games and new games - and dragon age

  ok so i am hella old school. i had an atari in 1980.. and an nes, atari st, amiga, sega genesis, ps1, and a ps2. i still have my gba sp whish i like alot. i find those games are still the best. my gba works fine and i love games like super mario brothers and metroid, and castlevania. these games are fun for me. right now, i see no reason to buy a ds or a psp. i was thinking about buying an iphone. if i buy anything it will be that. lots of great games out now for the iphone. i also have a dell axim x5 pda that works fine. and i have lots of games for it. i have doom, and duke nukem, and wolf 3d for it which i like to play. i have been gaming forever and i still like gaming. what matters to me is having fun with your games. it doesn't matter if it has the latest 3d graphics or whatever. games are fun. even the old ones. so i plan to keep my old games and play them indefinitely. i really don't think it is necessary to spend a ton of money on a ds and games that cost $20-$35 each.

  and i got a few new games. this year i bought burnout paradise, pgr4, prototype, wolfenstein, red faction guerilla, and halo 3 odst. all of those games are great and very fun. so i am happy with those. there are a few new games that i want. actually alot of them. my list is huge and if i had a million dollars i would buy all of them. but i don't have much income and right now i have barely enough to pay my rent and utilities, and internet bill. one game that stands out for me is modern warefare 2. i think i will get that soon.

  and dragon age origins. i watched the video review for this game and they say the pc version is best. so if i do get this game i am thinking about getting the pc version. normally, i would buy the console version because pc games sometimes stop working for no apparent reason. maybe your drivers aren't up to date. maybe the game has bugs. there are alot of reasons. i buy the console version most of the time. but the pc version of this game looks better. that's what i am thinking of doing. my pc works great. and i have some games for it. but you never know when some crazy problem is going to happen. all my console games work perfectly. and they are worth the money i paid for them.

  just to give you an example, i bought the pc version of world in conflict and it freezes sometimes. very annoying. and i bought cod 4 which the multi-player has stopped working. alot of people have these problems. i think it's because there are so many different configurations that they can't make the game work for everyone. which sucks because i want my games to work! so enough of my rambling. i can't think of anything else to say.

  our military is the strongest in the world... we are fighting a war that we can win. my heart and soul goes out to these people... if you look closely at the socom ps2 game.. you will see rob in the navy seal interview that sony did... yes my friends.. he is a real navy seal. we call him "the real deal."

  gaming on a budget

  ok so i have no money. i am not ashamed of that. i bought nation red off steam for $7. and small arms for $10. there are a bunch of hit games on xbox live for $10 each. and i play combat arms on my pc which is a free game. i recommend everyone with a good pc try combat arms. i am going to get some inheritance money i just don't know when.so i will wait... hopefully when i get that money i can buy a new car. my car is an old piece of junk. when i do get this money i will buy alot of new games. at the top of my list are mw2, brutal legend, dragon age, and forza 3.

  my thoughts on gaming

  i have been a gamer since i got my atari 2600 when i was a kid (about 8 years old) and now i am 40 and still gaming. i know a few other guys who are my age and still gaming. it always amazes me when i get a new game like halo 3 odst because the games are always getting better. doom 3 is another favorite of mine. now that i am older and living on my own, i have lots of time for games. i enjoy them now just as much as i ever did. we have come a long way from asteroids for the atari to halo 3. just think about what games are going to be like 20 or 30 years from now. i don't think i will be gaming that long but it is something to think about. i doubt i will even buy an xbox 720. i hope my xbox 360 still works for a long, long time because i have a large collection of games for it which i like very much. my gaming pc has been working good. and i like some pc games like doom 3, red alert 3, mvp baseball 2004, pga tour 2006, and a few others. pc gaming is alive and well. one of my friends reminded me that blizzard is making some great new games, like starcraft 2, diablo 3, and warcraft 4 for the pc. the pc has some really great rts games. i can't play rts games on my 360. i need a mouse and keyboard. and the graphics are better on the pc anyway. that's it for now! see ya later!

  Halloween!!!

  this is a fun time of year... i went to a party on friday night and got invited to a party on halloween night. i really don't know what costume to wear. i am not very good at that sort of thing. but i do like to party! so i know a few girls who are going to be partying. i hope i can go. that would be awesome.

  essential utilities i could not live without

  ok i have been using computers for a long, long time and i do more that just browse internet sites with my computer. it's pretty simple really, i have documents, pictures, video and music. and games. there are a few really useful computer programs i thought i would list them for you. most of these are free. you can download them almost anywhere. download.com for example... ok here we go.

  AVG Free edition - this is a very good and free anti-virus program with online updates. just as good as norton or mcafee if you ask me.

  SpyBot Search and destroy - this program scans for adware on your computer. i also recommend deleting your temporary internet files at least onse a week. if you have a big problem, re-install windows.

  3dmark06 - a very good benchmarking program.

  Adobe Reader - a must have, especially for pdf files.

  DivX Player and Converter - useful for DixX movies. comes with a codec for windows media player.

  Google Earth - a fun little mapping program that shows a 3d view of the earth.

  OpenOffice - a free set of programs designed to work like Microsoft Office.

  ImgBurn - this utility will write image files to a disc.

  Picasa - very useful for organizing your pictures

  snagit - screen capture software.

  gimp - a free version of photoshop

  xfire - great for instant messaging with your gamer buddies

  fraps - shows you fps, and records movies

  dosbox - useful for running old dos programs

  i don't use nero or easy media creator anymore. don't really need them with windows vista.

  big pay day

  the bad news is my grandpa has died but it is really a blessing because he has been ill for quite some time. i went to visit him in the nursing home many times and i hated it. why? because i love my grandpa and didn't want to see him suffer like he was. he had a stroke and was paralyzed on his left side. this man was a war hero and if it weren't for him and people like him we would have lost world war 2. the germans had us outmatched. they had more planes, more guns and more firepower than we did.so thanks to my grandpa and his pilot flying b-17s on bombing runs over germany we won the war. he said to me that the germans fighter planes would fly right at them head on to try and shoot the nose off the plane.so you should be thankful to our brave soldiers that protected our homeland. if you are not, then shame on you.

  my grandpa just recently passed away and is now in the promised land. he is with god and i know god loves him. i know i do. so i am getting inheritance which brings me to this... i got money to buy games!!! yay! thank you grandma and grandpa!!!
