Paramecia are a group of unicellular ciliate protozoa formerly known as slipper animalcules from their slipper shape. They are commonly studied as a representative of the ciliate group. Paramecia range from about 50 to 350 μm in length, depending on species. Simple cilia cover the body which allow the cell to move with a synchronous motion (like a caterpilla). There is also a deep oral groove containing inconspicuous compound oral cilia (as found in other peniculids) that is used to draw food inside. They generally feed upon bacteria and other small cells. Osmoregulation is carried out by a pair of contractile vacuoles, which actively expel water absorbed by osmosis from their surroundings.

Paramecia are widespread in freshwater environments, and are especially common in scums. Paramecia are attracted by acidic conditions. Certain single-celled eukaryotes, such as Paramecium, are examples for exceptions to the universality of the genetic code (translation systems where a few codons differ from the standard ones).

Maybe someone can help me discover how this pertains to video games

Best known for his work on the Carol Burnette Show, he and Tim Conway made a great team on the show, Harvey would try and play it staright and Tim would make him bust a smile. But his performance in "Blazing Saddles" is how i remember him most. He played Hedy "thats Hedley" Lamarr.

Rest in peace Harvey, you will be missed.

I can't believe it's been three years as a member here. That is the longest i have had the same profile on a web site or forum of this type, my Photobucket account is longer though, by a few months. It has been a great three years and hopefully will still enjoy this place for a long time to come.

If you have a party, be careful of what you serve. This is just nuts.

Some crook probably tipped the police off to the party.

In light of recent events it just makes me sick to my stomach to have been associated with the military. When i was in the service we had high standards of how we acted, a code of conduct. I guess the manual has been lost or just thrown out the window. First it was the humiliation of prisoners of war, now it has come to cruelity to animals.

I read through the thread in Off Topic and some people called the video a fake or it was a toy. I have two small dogs which i play with on a daily basis and i will toss toys for them to go and get. That my friends was no toy being tossed.

All this is , is another black eye to the american public who supports our troops fighting in this endeavor with our hearts and prayers and our tax dollars. All i can say is " No More" they might get my tax dollars but they will not have my heart.

And for those who have doubts about the puppy being tossed heres another video of autrocities to our furry friends. I found this not as funny as the people who are in the video did.

Since i don't count the pro-bowl as a game, but a paid holiday for the chosen players, the season has ended. But what a surprise ending, Giants 17 patriots 14. Since my team the Rams didn't even have a chance this year, I cheered for the lesser of two evils The Giants,( I HATE THE PATRIOTS). But there is always next season, and hopefully the Rams will use draft choices and free agency to the fullest of their advantage, and get another coach. So goodbye for now football see you next September, you was a good season. Congratulations to the New York Giants.

From what i could find on a google search

Ippon: "one full point", is a highest score a fighter can achieve in a Japanese martial arts ippon-wazari contest, usually Judo, karate or Jiu-Jitsu.

We had a bad ice storm on dec 9th, hit us pretty hard. I was lucky, i still had power to where my electric came into the house, which was my kitchen, so i had food and ran an extension cord to my furnace to keep it running. Was like that for over a week till they fixed it. I finally up loaded them . Nothing like over an inch and a half of ice in a day.

I am not a big fan of myspace. Yes i have a profile by the same name as here. But anywho, for some reason i am a magnet for new musicians. My music taste is lost in the 50's thru early 90's, but i have been getting requests from some excellent sounding bands who have been giving me renewed faith that rock is not lost. So i have decided to make a list of some of the bands who have brought back my love of music.

Francis Soto: This guy is amazing, Very excellent sound. Remake of "Sunglasses At Night" is pure rock. I have his link in my sig, he is a nice guy from the chats we've had.

Bury the Bully: Rocks, excellent lyrical music, their song "For Only Me To Know" magical sound.

Simple Plan: A mix of rock and pop punk but could be mainstream. " When I'm Gone" classic, all in all a good sounding band.

ChiasmusX: Soft alternative music, very mellow sound from the female lead.

Berlin Drop: progressive metal band from just north of me, nice hard sound to them.

Electric Colony: New wave with an edge, "About Time" excellent instrumental.

Heavens Dust: Japanese Metal band, female lead, very nice sound.

Revolution Red: Hometown band here, has a sweet edge sound to them

So if you have a profile there, give these people a try and see what you think. If you like them, support them by saying thanks for the music.

The skill level after GOD-LIKE in Unreal Tournament, only achievable by a true champ of the game.

Unreal Tournament, abbreviated UT, (sometimes referred to as UT99, UT Classic, UT1, or UT:GOTY to differentiate from Unreal Tournament 2003, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Unreal Tournament 3) is a popular first-person shooter video game. It is Epic Games' 1999 follow-up title to Unreal and focuses mainly on multiplayer action. It was launched in direct competition to id Software's Quake III Arena which was released ten days later. Although Quake III Arena was considered to have better graphics, streamlined gameplay and a widely adopted engine, UT had superior bot AI, "alternate fire" for weapons which introduced a further element of strategy, and a larger variety of multiplayer capabilities.

As with the original Unreal, the ease with which players can create and release mods to the core game is a key factor contributing to UT's longevity. UT improved upon the mod-friendly nature of its predecessor with support for mutators such as Sniper Arena, Instagib, BunnyTracks, MonsterHunt, Jailbreak and more. Further, UT clans, or gaming teams, and a score of UT dedicated clan and fan community sites continue to sustain Unreal Tournament's popularity years after its initial release

OMFG !!!! you never know what you have till it's gone. I started the new job with a 12 hour shift. and all i have to say is "Wholly carpal tunnel syndrome Batman". Never let it be said there are no sweat shops in the USofA. Bad part is, it felt good to do a hard days work. My wrists are swollen, my back hurts, i have blisters on my toes, i got off a little after 4am, and it was fun. Well going to bed now, hopefully will be able to move when i wake up, got to shop for some tylenol and doans pills for my back

** I box product for shipping to grocery stores. It's not heavy work, but fast and repetitive. very hard on the wrists. If you have never done it before and you do it for 12 hours it hurts like hell. Hopefully it don't take long to get use to, because they work 7 days a week for 3 weeks or so then work another 12 hour shift for a weekend off. **
