I am giving up the show, it is funny, but not that funny... Tyler Labine, the guy who plays Sock is hilarious, and he is the only reason I stuck with it, but I just don't have the time and don't think it is worth it to keep watch...I had such high hopes too...

So, it has been awhile, because, I had nothing to say, now I do...

Fall TV season is here, and I decided to pickup, Life Is Wild, Reaper, Pushing Daises, and GossipGirl.

Guess which ones are dropped already??

    Chuck and GossipGirl.

Chuck just, was kinda boring and really, honestly, slow. And the same goes for Gossip Girl, but it was also just too over the top.

Now, Pushing Daises is amazing, but everyone knows that, so why talk about it??

Here is where I need your help. Life Is Wild. Good show, could be great, but the ratings were crap, because they had no lead-in at all, unless Online Nation counts, which it doesn't. So everyone watch it, they stream the episodes on The CW website, so everyone should check it out to give the show a fighting chance...which Dawn and The CW won't do.

Reaper is funny and has alot of potential, so hopefully it keeps going on the same path it is now.

That is all, short blog, watch Life Is Wild.

I bought the first 3 seasons of The OC about 3 months ago, figuring I could plow through them on a rainy day, well, with 3 days off of work, I figured that rainy day had come, and after 16 episodes, I am done. I didn't have the highest hopes for the show but the first few episodes weren't bad, so I kept going, and I just got through the whole Oliver thing, and it was just too much for me.

Now, I love teen dramas, I really do, but this one is overrated. Benjamin McKenzie is alright, and so is, Rachel Bilson, but Mischa Barton is terrible, she is a horrid actress, just dreadful. Now, Adam Brody and Peter Gallagher are the only things that kept me going, both talented and really work with the matieriel well, but not enough to keep me with the show. Now, I guess I have to eat the amount I paid for the sets and sell them for less then I bought them [although I did get them on sale for 22.99 a piece, so it isn't terrible.]

So, I finally finished the Profiler on DVD, well the first 3 seasons, IE the Sam Years. Don't read if you haven't seen them....

OK, so I never was a huge fan of the show, I watched the first season and dug it, and bought the last 3, season 2 was alright, it had its weak and strong moments but it was livable, and I thought I would re-watch it. But then, the train wreck that was season 3 happened. What a load of crap, Jack is MIA, and the show just stopped focusing on the personal lives and it just turned into the same crap that you see on TV nowadays, IE CSI: Nebraska or whatever the hell it is called now. So, I watched the first 2 episodes on season 4 which ends Sam's storyline, and the sets are in the corner of my room ready to sell at my local Pre-Played.

    Goodbye Profiler, forever.

So, yeah, I didn't forget, but everytime I watch that episode it reminds me why it was one of the best TV shows ever.  Just a random thought...

It also makes me wish I had the other seasons on DVD, damn you Warner Bros...

So, really.  This is as close as I have come.  I want to leave Veronica Mars.  In reality, I won't, I could never, ever.  But really.

    [Spoilers]

Kill Lamb?  Really?  I loved the guy, he was a needed member of the Neptune community.  I just can not disagree more with that death, I don't even have words.  Simply put, I think it was one of the dumbest things the show could have done.

Really, I have no other words, I am heartbroken.  It was funny, when I saw Lamb enter the house, I knew he was going to die, I could feel it.  I almost called a buddy, because I was so sure.  And I was right, sadly.

So, I got the show added, and have been working hard on getting the show up to date.  Sadly, I can't find a single creditable source for when they were originally aired, so, until I find out, they are under, "Not Yet Aired."

    That is all.

So, after the Xmas run, almost every store runs a big sale, and this year there was no shortage. Even though I HATE Best Buy, they were selling [and still are] all 3 seasons on Roswell for 19.99 a piece. So I figured why not? I was always interested in it, and thought I would give it a chance, plus, I made a point not to open season 2 and 3, just in case I didn't like season 1, and I would return 2 and 3, and pawn off season 1. But, I ended up liking the show. It isn't the best show ever, but it was worth the cash. I will say that season 1 was by far the best, season 2 was weak and the middle of the season was just, terrible. Season 3 started off great, the first 2 episodes I felt were 2 of the best in the series, but it started to decline again. The Jesse/Isabel marriage was ridiculous, and I thought really really hurt the series, it was tacky and stupid, it is really a sore spot for the show, but that being said, I was not a big Isabel fan to begin with. But oddly, I WAS a fan of Tess, people hate her, not sure just because she was suppose to be with Max, or because she killed Alex, but I dug her as a character.

Now, the ending. I read a lot of complaints about the ending from fans, and I have to say, what did you expect? Yeah, Kyle shouldn't have gone with them, and they should have all gone their separate ways, but still, at least you got an ending. Many shows don't get one, and for a show like this, it would have been terrible. Second, as far as I know, the shows producers only had a few episodes to tie up the loose ends after they found out the show was going to be canceled, so they did the best they could.

All and all, the show gets a 7.8/10.0

Also, I dig the new layout on TV.com, but I can't get my banner up on the site, or my custom Icon, just my personal image. If anyone knows what I am doing wrong, let me know.

Thank God! FNL got picked up for the whole season, which is just great, but with a pick of a problem...rumour has it that it will be moved to Tuesdays at 9, the same time as VM, which of course would be terrible!!!

Otherwise, but FNL and VM were great last night, it was crazy when [spoiler] she was drugged and woke up [jikes] with part of her hair shaved off!!!!! Next week should be a good one that's for sure, and now the rapist is even closer to home for her, and if I am not mistaken, they should have it all wrapped up in an episode or 2...can't wait to see who did it. I have my ideas, but I don't want to let the world know here...

So, I taped the last 2 episodes, because I was out of town for them, and I just kinda, decided not to continue watching it, the first episode was, AMAZING, but after that, it went down hill, and now, since the rating are getting worse and worse, I know that it will be pulled from the schedule after November, so, I just felt like saying goodbye to another show, what a crappy new TV season...except for Friday Night Lights and Heroes, and maybe Men In Trees, which I still watch, but you know, just because I work on Friday nights, so TV is easy to watch...

I love VM, but it hasn't hit its stride yet, Lost has been crap, The Nine and Heroes are both GREAT, but Friday Night Lights is THE show this year.

I don't even like football, it isn't a show about football, it is about a town, a team, a groups of kids, who are given way too much responsibility, over, face it, a game.

It is unreal, I can't even describe how awesome the show it, watch it and you will see.  I have re-watched it, and still is killer, it has a great re-watch value for this kind of show, shows like VM and Lost, you re-watch to get clues, FNL, there are no clues, but still worth watching over and over again.

I swear, if a show like this, which its ratings aren't good gets canceled over a cookie-cutter, same old same old crap like, Deal or No Deal, or 1 vs. 100, it is the final sign that the devil is real, and it is the American public.

So, let me just say, Friday Night Lights was my favorite pilot this year, and the second episode kept the momentum.  Damn, this show could be unreal, but the rating are crap, so I don't think it will make it past say, episode 8.  If you haven't given the show a chance, please do, even if you don't like football [I can take it or leave it] this show is just great and worth checking out.

Veronica, oh Veronica, I really liked episode 1, and 2 wasn't AS good, but still had its great moments.  [Don't read if you haven't seen the episode] It was nice to see VM get a nice slap in the face, she can't ALWAYS know everything, and it is good to have it come back and bit her in the ass, it is what the show needs.  The Logan/Wallace storyline was great, even though there is no f'n way a professor could do that, or ever a Sociology 101 class would have a 20 page paper due, no matter what school you are at.

What am I going to do with Wednesdays??  I really liked the Nine pilot, and man, was i looking forward to episode 2, but it just didn't do much for me, I am very worried...It did not keep me as much as I was hoping.

30 Rock sucked, I was really hopeful, but I didn't even make it through episode 1.  Sorry.

Lost, just, isn't that good.  I am thinking of pawning off my Season 2 DVD and just drop the show completely.  It just doesn't have the spark that it had in season 1, and it is too bad, maybe I am in the minority...but I am officially worried, not for the show getting canceled, for me keeping it...

I really thought this was going to be a good TV season, but it has turned into almost complete crap.

Wow, after Ugly Betty wasn't for me, and Studio 60 just, well, wasn't that good after episode one, I was thinking this TV season was a bust for new shows.

    Not true.

The Nine blew me away, if it can keep the momentum from this episode, it will be better than anything on TV.  I am not going to review it here, I will just say, good lord, watch the freakin' show.  ABC.com is hosting it as we speak...

Lost was alright, I am officially starting to worry...Season 2 had its moments, but after re-watching them on DVD, I realized that, well, the season wasn't that great.  So, now, with this episode, that STARTED off so well, ended so, poorly...I just do not know anymore.

Saw the premier, and I have to say, did not dig it at all. I was really hoping for good things on this one, but sadly, no.

Studio 60 was good, not great, and Heroes was great, but I knew that, since I had seen it already.

So really, we will see how this new batch of shows goes, I could see myself dropping Studio 60 if it doesn't pick up, and I am already worried about Friday Night Lights, it was great, but I don't know if it can keep the momentum going...

So, today was the last day that the WB existed.  So, to commemorate it, they have been showing "A Night of Favorites and Farewells," it is a five-hour block of the pilot episodes of the shows that 'made' the network, it was, Felicity, Angel, Buffy and Dawson's Creek.  OK, I am not a fan of Buffy but, I can see that being shown, it really did help make the network but Angel?  It is just an excuse for viewers, which I understand, because Angel has such a HUGE cult following, but I really think something else should have been there, say Gilmore Girls, it meant more to the WB then Angel did, but I guess that is how it goes.  Hell, Everwood should have been on instead of Angel in my opinion, but that is just because Everwood is, well, Everwood.

I love Felicity, I have always been pissed that the DVD sets have never been on sale, seriously, never.  I only buy DVD sets when they are on sale, hell, I bought the first 3 seasons of Gilmore Girls at Target for 18.88, and the other two for 19.98 at Target on a later date.  It really was a killer show, I was not a big a fan of season 4, but still, awesome non the less, so it was nice to see the pilot again.  I watched Gilmore Girls during Angel and Buffy...

So, I have been watching the 1 season on Gilmore Girls otherwise, and had the 2nd season all ready to watch, but then, I saw the DC pilot again tonight, and I forgot how everything is just a rip-off of DC when it comes right down to it.  Granted, DC should have ended after season 4, but still, it is the show that set the benchmark.  So, needless to saw, the minute the pilot ended, I popped in my set and episode 2 of DC is on as I write and have every intention to watch seasons 1 through 4.

Current Viewing: "Dance" episode 2 of Dawson's Creek.

Fall is upon us, and it is my favorite time of year, the new season. I will map out my schedule of shows that I will be watching, but will just comment on the new series.

    Monday:

8: Heroes [NBC] – This was a definite, I really liked the pilot and if the show is done right, it will be great. Plus, it is a sure hit, so at least I know it will remain on.
9: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip [NBC] – It’s Aaron Sorkin, come on, with my love of Sports Night, how can I not watch??? Another sure hit.

    Tuesday:

7: Friday Night Lights [NBC] – I was not going to watch this, but I figured I will give it a chance, but it has been on more ‘Watch” polls from critics than I thought it would be, plus I saw a good long preview, and it looked good. I am NOT watching Gilmore Girls because I am waiting for Season 6 on DVD, because I am not ALL the way caught up…and I am not going to miss a thing!
    8: Veronica Mars [CW]

    Wednsday:

7:30: 30 Rock [NBC] – I have heard great things about the pilot, but now I see they have been making lots of changes, so I am not sure what to think…it really looks funny, so I am excited to see if the buzz is correct or NBC f-ed it up.
    8: Lost [ABC]
9: The Nine [ABC] – This looks great. Just my kind of shows, I don’t know why, but I really think this is going to be great. I saw a good preview for it, and really looked like something with emotional residence and I enjoy Tim Daly so that is a plus.

    Thursday:
7: Ugly Betty [ABC] – THE show that critics are saying is unreal, so how can I not?? The NBC comedy line-up that night is not my cup of tea, if Scrubs was there, I would be all over it, but once again, I have to wait until freakin’ January.

    Friday:

8: Men In Trees [ABC] – I just saw the pilot, and it has what I would consider great potential. I really wish it wasn’t on Friday though, with that slot, I give it 5 episodes tops, but it should get more. Please, I honestly believe this could be a great show, and it is different then anything else, just a classic fish-out-of-water drama, and TV doesn’t have any of that. TV is too formulaic now, so please, try this one out; I would love to see it stay.

There it is, complain, complement, castrate, do it all…I am waiting.

So, recently, people have been asking me for my favorite TV shows, and really, every time I get asked or answer, I always forget one, or have one too high/low on the list. So, after some thought, as of Sept. 11, 2006, here is the list:

    1. Northern Exposure.
    - when it comes down to it, this is it, really, without this show, TV is nothing. Before NX, really, there were drama and comedies, comedies would have some drama, and drama would have some comedy, but never like this. You can't call it a drama, and you can't call it a comedy. With this show, there is no Everwood, no, Veronica Mars, no, nothing. Times has still treated NX well, but not great, but still, the re watch value, especially on seasons 3 and 4, are unreal.

    2. Veronica Mars
    - It comes as no surprise that this is number 2, it was almost number one, and I would suspect in about 5-10 years, it will be, but for now, it is two. I am not one of those guys who just considers only new stuff, and with only 2 seasons, it is a bold statement, but really, the re-watch value it like no other. There are about 18 episodes on each season that can be watched over and over again, but something new and great in each episode. We will see how long the show lasts, but I swear to God if it doesn't make it past 4 I will be crushed.

    3. Arrested Development
    - The first half-hour series on the list, and man, it deserves to be here. What can I say about this show? I has, WITHOUT A DOUBT, the greatest re-watch value. You can't like this show without watching each episode 3+ times, and that was a problem for all the idiots who watch Law & Order and CSI, which is too bad. But we got 3 seasons, and we have to be grateful for that.

    4. Everwood
    - What I love about this show is that it brought together two of my favorite shows into one amazing program. Dawson's Creek and Northern Exposure. Everwood would be a town where I would want to live, plain and simple. And Bright, well its Bright, damn near the funniest charactor on TV ever. It seems like such a basic premise for a show, but man, it was written so beautifully that, it will remain a classic throughout the years.

    5. Scrubs
    - The 2nd of the half hour shows. Watch it, and you will see, it is so off the wall it is almost too much. I consider this the sister-series to Arrested, only because, like Arrested, it expects a lot from the viewers, and if they don't have it, they they should leave, and God help me, it is a glorious show.

    6. Dawson's Creek
    - This should have ended up higher, only because, it should have ended after season 4. 5 was damn near a bust, and 6 was just not great. They have their moments but were not even close to the greatest of 2-4. Another show that created a genre, without this show, The WB would be nothing, and the world is a better place with The WB shows.

    7. Sports Night
    - A Classic. It seems that most of my favorites expect a lot from the viewers, and this is no exception. Sports Night is just so wonderfully written and acted, it blows me away every time, West Wing is good, but this is the show. The show that should still be on...2 seasons was not enough.

    8. NYPD Blue
    - Sipowicz, need I say more. It is my name for a reason. The show may have lost something over the years, but the years up to Danny were unreal. Sipowicz is the greatest TV character off all time, Dennis Franz played it amazing, and never has a person been played with such layers and depth. Classic show, and the greatest character ever.

    9. ER
    - Man, what a show. Once again, should be higher, but it should have ended after Lucy died, but at the very least ended after Greene died, it didn't and the show just, lost it for me. Season 1-5 are amazing.

    10. Mad About You
    - I tell you, this almost went to many many different shows, but really, this show can be, and it watched over and over again by me, and still is unreal. The only 'sitcom' on the list, and what I consider to be the greatest ever. Once again, like too many shows, it should have ended sooner then it did, season 4 would have been perfect, and that was the way Paul Reiser wanted it, but NBC offered him more money, and I can't blame him. God, the last season, he got 1 million per episode, who says no to that?? Creative control and amazing work is one thing, but really, 1 million per, you can't blame him.

Honorable mentions: X-Files, so close, but just sadly, no. King Of The Hill, it was number 10, but JUST got bumped. Gilmore Girls, the last 2 seasons haven't been great... Dead Like Me, sadly, it was only 2 seasons, and never really developed. Kids In The Hall, so f'n hilarious I can't believe it, but just didn't seem to fit on the list.

Unsolved Mysteries should be on, but it is hard because, really, the great segments are amazing and great, but the "Miracles" and 'Psychics' are just stupid.

the idiots who would rather watch According To Jim.

God, every time I watch Arrested Development it gets funnier, and I get sadder, how shows like that can't make it, but According to Jim can make it into syndication makes me sick. Granted, I didn't think season 3 was as good as 2, but really, there was a stretch of 4 episodes that weren't great, but were better than Skating with the Stars, or Dancing with the Stars, or whatever else crap FOX tries out...

Just a sad day, and with the end of the show, now I...re-watch them all with audio commentary, God I love DVDs.

What a day.  So, not only did I pick up the new Bob Dylan CD, "Modern Times" which rocks, by the way, but the new Pete Yorn, "Nightcrawler," Old Crow Medicine Show, "Big Iron World" [amazing] but also the third season on Arrested Development.  I have no money, thank god I am working all damn weekend.

So today I became the editor for Moldiver an anime that had 6 episodes, I enjoyed the show, but really, it is nothing that special, and the ending of the show sucks, bad.  In other news, I am also the Editor of my favorite band ever, R.E.M.  They are so underrated by the general public, really, it is too bad that most people just think of a few songs they did, like "Everybody Hurts" and "Man On The Moon."  Their 80s albums, literally, changed the face of music, they damn near invented college radio, and even indie rock.  Ask any musician from the indie scene and I can almost guarentee they would put R.E.M. as a  huge influence, and if they don't, I don't listen to them.  They are music Gods, and hopefully I can do their guide right, and give them the respect they deserve.

Also, the Late Late Show guide is killing me, I have been working for f'n hard on it, and I am not even CLOSE to being done, it is just too much darn work.  I will finish it, but with school starting in a week I will have to get a better schedule of doing a little bit each day.

Otherwise, nothing new in the TV world, I am looking forward to getting the Heroes pilot, it will be free on iTunes on Friday, Sept. 1.

Oh yeah, tuesday the new Bob Dylan CD comes out, and I am pumped!  I love Dylan so much, and with that, the new Pete Yorn CD comes out, and the last season of Arrested Development, so I should be an expensive day for me.
