On Tuesday morning, I called my local GS regarding the status of the Xbox360. To my surprise, they had a few in stock (and Prems at that). Now, I know that I've expressed my dedication to current gens (speakably for the Xbox), but the lack of support from M$ on the Xbox thus tempted me, and I really didn't feel like waiting until later this year (for Rev & PS3) until picking up a new console (or for more intriguing titles to be announced for the Xbox). With no guarantee that there would be any 360s available for later sale, I eagerly darted to the store & picked up a 360 Prem along with PDZ.
With all of that out of the way, I'll have to confess that I haven't played the system for more than an hour (on Tuesday). For one, I didn't want to increase the possibility of a probable system overheat, two, that gigantic powerbox (which comes with the system) has me fearing a huge light bill. So I'm going to attempt to keep gaming on this thing to a complete minimum.
That's not to say that I don't like what I'm seeing so far. I'm rather impressed with the system (and enjoy PDZ's lush graphics) and look forward to getting back on XBLive soon. I just wish the system wasn't so darn power hungry.
My goodness!! I'm still looking at purchasing Kameo (my first choice) & Condemned next for the lineup (& perhaps Oblivion sometime down the line). With that said, I believe it's safe to say that I don't think I'll be purchasing either a Rev or PS3 this year, just because...and I'll still be playing the current gens quite regularly for the simple fact that they don't get hot enough to fry eggs off of within a few minutes. Enticed with the close arrival of E3 06.
..And for the record, no. I don't have an HDTV, nor do I plan on investing in one for a while.

http://kotaku.com/gaming/blizzard/starcraft-ghost-indefinitely-postponed-162934.php
Well, it appears as though despite the numerous delays & setbacks, Blizzard has finally decided to put the axe on the Starcraft: Ghost project. Now Blizzard is claiming that they want to focus development for the next gen consoles, though they've yet to confirm a next gen approach for Ghost. The first sight of doubt came Blizzard switched team developers (Nihilistic ran out of patience on the project, thus Swingin' Ape stepped in). However at E3 05 Blizzard showcased the game in it's current form & declared that the project was moving along fine, thus shooting for an early 06 release. Then shortly after, Blizzard nonchalantly announced that they had axed the GC version of the game to focus more on the online portions for both the Xbox and PS2 (then shooting for a mid 06 release). Now, Blizzard's finally come out of the closet & confessed that the game's canned for the current gens to focus on the next gens. However, who's to say that the whole claim that the current gen versions are canned to focus on a next gen adaptation aren't simply a ploy to keep any fans quiet while Blizzard cans the project for good? It's not like they can't release the game for the current gens now, then later a next gen port with enhanced visuals.
Anyone else disappointed with this news (considering that you cared in the first place or didn't lose interest years ago)? I've had my sights set on the title for years. The game looked perfect back when Nihilistic was on board working on it. However due to Blizzard's constant badgering & shift of focus from one minute to the next, Nihilistic lost interest & left the project only to later pitch the underwhelming Marvel Nemesis. Then, when Swingin' Ape (Metal Arms) stepped into play, though the game didn't look as enticing as it did at first, it still showed promise. It's misleading for Blizzard to have fans believing that the game would still be slated for the current gens only to turn and say "Screw you!" to that same fanbase that I'm wondering how long Swingin' Ape can manage to stay on board before flipping. That's considering that the Ghost project's still into play.
Blizzard claimed they wanted to make a phenomenal next gen worthy game for the current gens. They claimed they had no plans on a next gen take of the game. Those comments leave to believe that there's a possibility that the projects been canned for good and that Blizzard have simply moved on. Think about it. Why come this far only to shelve what you wanted released for so long. Who's to say that a next gen take on the title won't take twice as long to develop as the original (since they'd supposedly create an entirely new engine from the ground up), not to mention, cost twice as much?
Anyhow, though I feel a tad betrayed, I can honestly say that this news doesn't come as a surprise to me. Nowadays when a game gets put on indefinite hold, that usually means that there's a high possibility that the game won't be released, but the devs won't want to come out & say so immediately (having a bunch of angry consumers sending them death threats, etc.) so they'll wait for the hype to die down on the game, then later quietly place the axe on it.
Well, on the bright side of things, at least Duke Nuken Forever is still alive & running, and 3d Realms still has the game slated for a current gen console release. Right?
Thanks for reading.

Now this just takes the cake here: http://www.wate.com/Global/story.asp?S=4604409&nav=0RYv
Basically what's happening is some airhead is attempting to pass a law making it illegal to sell violent videogames to anyone (in Tennesee). Adults included!
My main question is why are these political anti-gamers spending millions to pass laws which usually get denied? Not only is it a waste of time & money (given that there's a ESRB rating system) but they seem to be completely ignoring that that time & effort could be well spent towards something more productive (Katrina victims anyone?). For this law to go through would be an infringement on our rights.
I'm a grown adult and love gaming. I've been an avid gamer since the tender age of five. I grew up playing such games as Sinistar, Paperboy, & Pacman. Then, gamers were introduced an entirely new brea of gaming with such titles as Star Fox, Street Fighter, & Mortal Kombat. Their innovations helped to keep the gaming category fresh while at the same time providing room for it's predecessors. Then, approximately around 1994, the media (along with Corporate America) made the decision that they could try & thrust off the one thing to which they had tried to cash in on for so many years. Videogaming.
So now all of us veteran gamers have to sit back & watch Congress approve laws to try & kill off the one thing which we've grown up loving for so many years?! I think not!! Wake up, people!! You don't have to play what the media tells you to. There are so many great titles out there that you should never get stuck reluctantly playing some overly boring nonviolent game (no pun intended).
I agree that there is a line (concerning videogames) and some people tend to cross it unnecessarily. However, I don't want my freedom (much less reputation) to play violent games stripped, simply because a few irresponsible individuals are sloppy & can't decipher reality from fantasy. Who cares if some disturbed teen had a bad day at school therefor, on the next, brought a gun to the campus? Deal with those people individually & stop looking to someone/thing else to blame for that person's lack of sanity. Stop trying to make us as gamers look morbidly evil!!
What ticks me off the most, is that a majority of the people trying to pass these so-called bills to ban violent videogames, is that many of them have never even sat down to pick up a gaming controller (much less try to understand the concept behind the game). All they see is "Hot coffee mod" or "Look! His/her head/hand blew off!" and will immediately dismiss any positive aspects that the title may contain & include it with their lists of games to try & ban. It's almost as if these politicians are simply using gaming as an easy way to boost/increase their power/stay in office. Talking about they're trying keep violent games from the clutches of the youth. Then next, they want to kill of violent games completely. They can't even seem to decide what they want done about any game past a teen rating. Solution, make it illegal to sell violent videogames to anyone? Great idea.
"When you pull a trigger in a videogame, it's no different from doing so on an actual person." Wtf?! Whoever came up that theory is completely mindless hoaxer, so are you if you believe that statement holds any actual merit. Unless theres some form of voodoo magically entranced within a videogame controller, to which for each time someone presses the X or A button, someone outside mysteriously gets shot & dies, then the cops had better be at my doorstep with the handcuffs prepared to take me into custody. Reasons being, that makes me a killer.
Politicians seem to think that videogames are the only catharsis for inspiring violent acts simply because you're actually playing the game as opposed to watching. Which is sheer ignorance. Movies, the news, and music have been proven to have influenced lewd behavior even moreso than gaming as an entirety. For instance, there was this guy on America's Most Wanted top ten most wanted list to whom was wanted for being apprehended for a crime & locked away. He then discovered a way to escape the high fascilitated prison & successfully evade police from (get this): "An act which he remembered seen done successfully on a PG rated 007 James Bond flick." Then, there was a child who superkicked his friend (playfighting) causing her to lose balance & bash her head open on the ground, killing her. All of which he was inspired to mimick (superkick) from watching an episode of Power Rangers.
Why is it that politicians try to ban violent videogames as opposed to movies & other forms of entertainment (not saying that they should be)? For the shear fact that a majority of policians themselves infact watch violent flicks (etc.) & for them to ban them would deter a form of entertainment on their behalves in which they enjoy. They'll find the grotesque violence in Passion of the Christ or Black Hawk Down justifyable since films are easier for them to get into or digest. However, they'll immediately discredit a videogame like say; MGS, Max Payne, or Counter Strike simply because they're too lazy to pick up a controller & learn to play the game to discover the plot behind them. In actuality, videogames are very similar to movies in that they can tell a story, but through a different form of entertainment. By some of these politicians analogies & claims (concerning videogames) all violent movies should be banned as well.
However, as long as there are people like Hilary Clinton, Joseph Liberman, & Tommy Kilby who constantly try to pass bills to have violent videogames banned (along with delivering doublestandered talk & speeches), things will continue to remain as they are now, if not worse in the coming years ahead. What's next? A ban on the national news because a standout few people find it so depressing to digest that they start jumping off of cliffs or start mimicking the crimes they hear/see committed?
Educate yourself on the true essense of what gaming in itself is. Videogame's aren't something you pass laws on, they're a form of entertainment in which you live to temporarily escape reality. Thanks for reading.

According to a recent article (www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=62899) the disasterful director's ego seems to grow bigger with each passing moment. Uwe Boll's now attempting to make even more justifications for the failure of his films. With each disasterpiece he puts out, he has an entirely different excuse: "The games were nobrainers that had no substance whatsover (House of the Dead)." "Tara Reid's horrid performance is what destroyed the entire film (Alone in the Dark)." "The viewers are idiots who don't know a great movie when they see one (Bloodrayne)."
Which brings me to this question. "Since when has Uwe Boll ever put out a great film?" He claims that his films get progressively better, when infact each of them are horrid on an entirely different level. Boll blames everyone for the failure of his films but himself (& I won't even bother quoting some of his lame attempts at excuses). Has it ever hit him that he's just not a good director? He just can't seem to fathom the fact that people have grown weary of his tired attempts at which he lables as "Movies which live true to the videogame franchises."
BTW, what kind of lowlife compares themselves to Paul W.S. Anderson & Stephen Speilberg? Not that I have anything against either two of those directors, but someone (Uwe Boll) comparing themselves to another is never a good sign. This usually means that the director comparing themselves doesn't have their own style. If I wanted an Anderson or Speilberg film, I'd watch an Anderson or Speilberg film. I could care less about some gimmicky clone done by a novice director.
Boll flip-flops so much, it isn't even funny. One moment he says his films are aimed towards the fans of franchises & that the fans will be satisfied. Then next, he claims that his films are made to appeal to a wider audience aside from the gamers (only to discover that even nongamers hate his films with a passion as much as the gamers). Next, that his films contain sexuality that should appeal to everyone. Is Boll's real life name either Jack Thomson or John Kerry?
Despite what anyone may think or say, "Bad videogame adaptated films CAN hurt franchises." They can kill off any would-be fans chance at wanting to embrace the franchise. I'm sorry, but Boll's film based on Alone in the Dark (the series which inspired & spawned off such survival horror franchises as; Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, Siren, etc.) did the series absolutey no justice whatsoever, but yet harm.
What's even worse is that Boll goes onto rampages debunking such films as Doom & Halo (when infact Boll tried to approve the rights for the Halo film & Bungie declined). For someone who has yet to deliver a film even a mediocre level, who is he to determine a good film from a bad film (much less bash another director's take on a videogame film)?
Fact of the matter is that Uwe Boll is a poison infection in gaming. A virus. Videogames were created by gamers for gamers. When a director attempts to convert a game to the big screen, not only are they making a film to appeal to the gamer demographic but also the nongamer as well. I feel this is a reason why gamers have grown fond of forgiving such directors as; James Yukich (Double Dragon), Steven E.de Souza (Street Fighter), and John R. Leonetti (MK:A). After each of their ill-faded attempts on bringing videogames to the big-screen, they all moved on, which hasn't yet hit Boll. He's like the Energizer Bunny & keeps going & going, & doesn't know when to stop (due to his constant abuse of the German Tax law, which has recently been altered). Even with rejection, Boll still believes that he's God's gift to gaming:
-Hideo Kojima (Konami/MGS creater) said that it was impossible that he'd ever do a movie with Boll.
-Gabe Newell (Valve Pres/CEO) laughed immensely at the thought of Boll even considering wanting to do a Half-life film & assured fans that they'd have nothing to worry about, as Boll would never get his hands the filming license.
-Bungie declined Boll's offer to buy the rights for the Halo film. Stating that they would only sell off the rights to a director whom has a love for the art of gaming in itself.
Fact of the matter is that Uwe Boll isn't a gamer (even if he may claim to be in his interviews). If he was, he wouldn't be constantly shattering so many franchises (with potential) this badly, simply to earn a quick buck. I just hope that the recent news off at www.bollbashers.com that Boll has indeed ceased plans on doing a Fear Effect movie adaptation hold out to be true. I thank you all for reading.

Made my way to the local Gamestop store again. Peering at the latest releases, I overhear a conversation between a customer & Gamestop associate regarding the 360 orders. The store's still booked for preorders now pushed up to May at the soonest!!! They claim that whenever they get a few in (three 360s' the most at a time) that they get shipped directly to those to whom are on the preorder list.
This is just ridiculous! I know shipments are stiff for M$, but how much longer will it take? In a way, I'm kinda glad that I didn't put money down to order a 360. I'd be awfully irate to wait oh so many months for a system that I should have had on launch week/month. No wonder the 360 software sales haven't flourished to meet M$'s standards, because noone can get their hands on one. Get it together M$!! I really feel for those to whom preordered their systems from day one & still have yet to receive them.
As for me. Perhaps this is all some sort of caution warning for me not to get one. I don't know. Nothing worth losing sleep over. In the meantime, I'll just stick with playing Xbox & PS2 and patiently await Twilight Princess for the GC (the system's collecting dust now). Unless of course, Nintendo decides to pull off a Kameo and move the game over to the Revolution at the last minute in desperation.

6Jan 06Is it me, or has GS been pretty glitchy these past few days? Somewhat having trouble submitting posts, & what's with everyone's avatars turning back into the GS originals? Am I the only one whose encountered any of these problems (& possibly more)?

Just payed a visit to my local GS store (been a while since I last) with a fairly definite mindset as to what I wanted to purchase. There, I finally had a chance to see the X360 live & in action with people playing Cod 2 (very impressive indeed). Having already placed a preorder on Kameo (to make certain that I'd buy the system) a few weeks prior to the system's release, I saw no need to pick up the game immediately (afterall, I didn't even preorder the system).
With my games already grabbed & ready for purchase (The Punisher along with Half-life 2 both for the Xbox), out of curiosity, I check up on the status of the X360's which were of course all sold out (I guess you could say it was a rhetorical question). Indeed they were all sold out, but what I was going to hear next, not even I was anticipating. There would be no 360's for sale until February of 2006 the soonest (at that specific store)! The store had received only thirty-two copies of the system at launch, and they're booked with over a hundred & thirty preorders.
Conclusion? It doesn't look like I'll be getting my hands on a copy of the system until sometime next year. Ah, well. It's my fault for not preordering the system on my prior visits to the store back when they WERE taking orders. Then again, I'm relieved in a way. This now will enable me to devote more attention to the Xbox & PS2. Not to mention by that time, Microsoft will hopefully take care of the system malfunctions which are occurring with some copies of the system (crashes, disc scratches/errors, etc.) with their newer shipments.
While I was still at the store, I should have canceled my preorder for Kameo (afterall, I did pay an advancement fee) , but it's only a few bucks, so I'll worry about that later. In all honesty (though very intrigued by the X360), I'm not very desperate on purchasing a new gaming console right away. For, I'm still fairly satisfied & occupied with the current gen systems. I'm currently playing both The Punisher & Half-Life 2 back to back consistently. Half-Life 2 (while an inferor port to it's pc counterpart) is phenomenal, & I truly regret not playing the game sooner.
Now, all I need to do is renew my subscription with Xbox-Live and I'm all set.

Been a while since I last payed a visit to this site. When I return, I discover that a bustle of changes have been made, immersing. New page layout, options & features. It's just too bad that the newly revamped review system is pretty much useless, given the fact that you'll only really get positive feedback based on someone agreeing with your review rather than focusing on the basis of it's structure. Plenty of grim faces indeed. Nonetheless, it's quite a sigh of relief to see that GS has overseen the need to revising it's site.
I wonder...would people bother reading my entries if I were to get engaged or married? How will the world have progressed thirty or fifty years from now? Will I be inducted into office? Will I be forced to (on a daily basis) deal with infallible people who are constantly insistant on proving me wrong? Will my fellow siblings spawn offspring & will they grow with resilience or vitiation? Hmm...I wonder. Don't mind me, I'm just ranting.
Overtime, I've grown fond of learning a crucial lesson. The lesson (and I'm sure we've all been told this down the line some time or another) is to not subdue yourself to a level to which you may regret in the longrun (we cannot undo the past). It's not a very wise practice being sensitive in a world as rough as ours, even if you feel or foresee your modesty coming with a price.

It has come to my attention that over the span of time, G4TV has shifted drastically. A station which started off as an effective source for technology & gaming information, has now become a futile cesspool in an attempt to cater to all audiences, instead of solely on technology based/driven.
The station has now resorted to utilizing sex-appeal as an efficient way of earning ratings. For example, there was once a show by the name of "Extended Play" (which starred Adam Sessler) which was tailored on reviewing the current game releases & consoles. When the G4TV admin assumed that the show needed to become more lively, they then nixed the original show (Extended Play), added a female host by the name of Morgan Webb, & renamed the show "X-Play."
It's fairly evident that Webb was added to the roster as the "Estrogen Factor" for the show. There are millions of viewers to whom openly admit to tuning into G4TV & watching X-Play simply to glance at the brunette (absolutely nothing wrong with her shade of hair) for thirty minutes along with hearing her obscure jokes & puns. I don't necessarily hold any quarrel against Webb personally, but surely the admin should realize that not everyone tunes into a show simply to glance at the host/hostess. Numerous comments that her & Adam make aren't even remotely related to gaming. It makes one assume as if the execs of the shows ran out of information, hence at the end of the show, threw a bunch of mindless nonsense for filler.
The only shows that I can even classify as remotely precise/efficient technology/gaming information are; Attack of the Show, G4TV.com, Icons, Judgment Day, & Electric Playground. The rest of the shows on the station don't really seem to harness much related to technology or gaming. Also please, a show about digitized boobs & rear-ends (Videogame Vixens) is not equivalent to technology. It's also degrading to female gamers, because it's shows such as that which give "horndogs" the impression that women will do practically anything for them, since they (videogame divas) fulfill their fantasies in the games/shows.
Fact of the matter is, if I wanted to watch a show about thug'd out rims & tires (Formula D, Street Fury), I'd watch MTV. If I wanted senseless comic relief, I'd tune into Comedy Central. Finally, if I wanted to see half-naked not sober chicks acting silly (Heaven forbid), I'd watch "Girls Gone Wild." Sadly, as long as the high ratings continue to kick in, I don't see G4TV altering their newly preferred style. Henceforth, I'll just stick with the suggested tech/gaming shows to which I listed in my previous paragraph. The gaming industry is "Nothing" compared to what it once was over a decade or so ago. We have society to thank for this unethical trend (of course sex sells). Thanks for reading. Peace!!

Expectedly, I've returned. With some exalting encouragement from my fellow peers (via emails & PM's) I've decided to give GS another shot (but I don't know how long I'll be around) I love ya'll!!
Too many controversial games to review & comment on to leave untouched. I would also greatly miss my "TRUE" friends that I've encounted off this site if I were to leave for good (no need to call out names cause ya'll know who you are
) the support's been greatly appreciated! The "fanboyism" is a trait that'll be around forever in just about any direction we turn & as hopeless as it may sound, it's an aspect that we'll have to deal with (as much as I despise it). However, poor online sportsmanship is an entirely different story.Well after a short hiatus, I've returned to GS. To once again wreck havoc

I'm LEAVING GS as an avid member! Here's why. What originally started off as fun & enjoyable has now become repetitive & tedious. For starters, GS has supposedly ceased continuation on the banner system. Eliminating any relevance of progress. Secondly, GS is too darn strict when it comes to the discussion boards topics. Heaven forbid, you use the word "ignorant" & it gets deleted by a mod off the spot. Heaven forbid, you use the word "prick" in one of your statements & it gets mopped up in an instant by the admin.
What I find contradicting are the numerous sex-related posts that have absolutely no merit to the topics at hand which manage to stay up weeks beyond weeks ( just how many thread topics do we need regarding DOA's Helena's boobs or if Tina's rear end's big enough?) . It's is shame what this site has become. GS used to be the safe haven for the upcoming game releases & topic-related discussions. Now they want to be like everyone else. Trying to gain mainstream gamercore acceptance at the expense of their souls. Perhaps when the GS administrators & mods learn to better respect their fellow members, I just MIGHT consider returning. Farewell!

I've recently reduced my friend's list by a tad. It was getting a little out of hand. If you were deleted, please don't take it personal. Now that you mention it though...
What's the point of having friends if you're not even interacting with them? Many people to whom are on my FsL haven't even had the courtesy to even respond to my inbox messages, much less read my limited journal entries. Yet, now that these unions have arrived, these same so-called friends are like "Join my union, pleeeeeease!" If you've never even made the effort to at least respond to my messages, then don't even burden yourself with sending me a union invite. You'll be wasting your time. It's such a slap in the face! I've just about had it with these "Unions!!
"All I ask is that you at least respond to my inbox messages. Is that too much of a hassle? Am I asking too much? I'm a reasonable mortal & I understand that not everyone visits this site on a constant basis, but if you're on my FsL & we've never mingled a single time, please, no union invites.
Now, if you've at least recurred with me on at least one occasion, then please disregard this entry. Much love goes out to all of my "true" friends out there. Ya'll know who you are.
To all the rest, "No peace or love for you!" - Posted Mar 26, 2005 6:26 am PT

As many of you have more than likely witnessed, this site hasn't been the same. It doesn't luster the same feeling as it once had years ago. Though several members are joining day by day, GS still feels empty. Many members have moved onto different occurrences. Whereas several members are constantly having trouble logging onto gamespot on a regular basis, many have simply lost interest. Does it have something to do with the recent torrent of games, or is the site in desperate need of some more modifications?
With the recent arrival of the unions, the GS Community is without a doubt receiving mass loads of feedback regarding them. Now is the time, the time for us to express what we wish to see implemented/improved into this site in order to make it better (even better than before). Do you wish for better non GS Complete member benefits? Do you agree with leveling system? Should it be updated on a more constant basis? How do you feel about the inbox updates? Would you like to be notified whenever you're listed as a trusted reviewer & know to whom listed you? Would you like a counter to which notifies you as to how many readers fount your reviews helpful? Were you scrolling down your friend's list/page & accidently clicked the delete icon under that friend's name deleting them? Would you like a recovery system to which can retrieve deleted friends, or a system to which asks if you're sure you want to delete a friend? Do you like the fact you're required to have reached a certain level before you can write reviews? Should it be reduced? Should there be a required level at all? Many GS member are having serious logging on issues within the site. What can be done to resolve/reduce them? Should the amount of tracked games be increased for nonmembers (GS complete)? Should there be a limit at all? Should members to whom been banned be allowed to return after a set time period of time (a suspension) in hopes that they're rehabilitated? Should they be given a second chance?
These are all crucial aspects to which can quite possibly help improve the GS Community. Most of which are constant questions by the members of GS to whom wish to see the site progress. GS won't know unless we allow our voices to be heard. Now is the time. Notify GS as to what you wish to see improved (or implemented) upon on this site. I thank you in advance for reading! Peace!!

How's it goin' everyone?
I've finally decided to update my journal to bring ya'll what you want "Great guides & opinions." This entry's to identify the great games as well as the bad. UNDERRATED CLASSICS
Well, here's a selection of some great games to which were instant classics but were overlooked by the public:
Drake of the 99 Dragons- A bona fide classic to which never got the props it deserved. Half-Life what? This is the true HL experience.
Stake: Fortune Fighters- A truly innovating multiplayer experience. Games such as Powerstone & Kung Fu Chaos borrowed heavily from this game & implemented it's ideas into their games, giving this game no credit at. That ain't right.
Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon- Bruce Lee struggled early in his career to bring his self-developed style to the martial arts genre. This game's a great dedication to his contributions. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar.
Clock Tower II: The Struggle Within- CTII lusters some of the most beautiful graphics ever to grace the ps1! Even to this day, CTII graphics remain on par with the consoles of the current market. One of the greatest survivor horror games to exist! Astonishing!!!
Kakuto Chojin- Currently, fighting games are practically dying. There are too many fake fighters out there such as Soul Caliber II & Tekken 5 that are labeled as "Competitive Fighting Games." Want a remarkable fighter? Then grab KC & steer clear from SCII & T5 (those series were never any good to begin with). You WON'T be disappointed.
Pulse Racer- The most original driver/racer to date! Gran Turismo 4 can't hold a candle to this & never will!
TERRIBLE OVERRATED/OVERHYPED ATROCITIES
Unfortunately, there are a lot trashy games out there that are passing themselves off as "classics" & that makes a gaming veteran such as myself angry!!
The titles listed below are just a few to which you'll want to avoid at all costs. Reasons being, they're horrendous:Ninja Gaiden- This game's awful!! Get Ninja: Shadow of Darkness instead. At least in that game, the ninja can swim!!
Tomb Raider I- TR was one of the fakest platformers back in the mid 90s'. Avoid TRs' I & II like the plague! The only TR game you need in your collection is TR: Angel of Darkness.
Devil May Cry- You'd do better by getting DMC2 (the best in the series) & avoid that horrendous DMC3!
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time- Too violent for it's own good. It makes Manhunt look like an E-rated game!
Resident Evil 4: Just get RE: Survivor instead.
Halo 1 & 2- Man, GAH BAGE!! Terrible graphics, gameplay, music, storyline etc. Shall I go on? Open your eyes & play a "Halo Killer" such as Killzone. A game that's practically glitch-free.
Well, I hope my guide proved helpful in helping you identify the great, from the horrible. One Love!!!

Man, I've got to tell you. I'm so fed up with these so-called "skilled players" online who can never accept a loss. They walk around boasting about how great of a player they are, and when they get owned by another player, that player is considered cheap.
Perfect prime example. I was playing Guilty Gear X2#Reloaded online one day and happened to approach a player to whom had a larger ranking than I. We entangled in a match & I won. This guy went beserk after I had defeated him, he started using all kinds of foul language stating how much I sucked and then he left the match (he didn't even want a rematch). To top it off, this guy's the top American player on the ranking charts! There was a second occassion when this player and I had crossed paths again online in GGX2, the second time he attempted to wait for me to pick my character first at the selection screen (if you're confident you'll win, why does it matter which character I choose?) I didn't and waited until time ran out (and the icons automatically picked the characters to which they were placed on) before the match even starts, the player drops!! This brought me to the conclusion that a majority of the players who boast about being the top players are just "hype." They play mainly novices to boost their rankings up and demand a challenge. Yet, when they get a challenge, they either back down or consider the player cheesy.
I visited sites such as shoryuken.com and viewed the message boards (GGX2#R) and saw the forum posts bashing online players who beat players with lower rankings than theirs. Why do gamers do this. Why do they insult other gamers for giving them a challenge? They complain about which characters a player picks & how cheap they are (I consider the only cheap tactics are when players drop during matches) when 90% of these same players are cheap. They totally contradict themselves.
The season why I state that I'm getting sick of xbox live is because of the players. There are some decent players online to whom you can have a blast playing (who seem rare to encounter) with. Then, there are those who talk smack and use very unpleasant language. For instant, I was playing DOA:U one night online in one of the game's lobbies with a bunch of players and there was girl in the room making very rude racial remarks. She just kept going on and on, she was really agitating the other players. She went on for about fifteen minutes and decided to leave the room once she figured noone was paying much attention to her anymore. Then you have your Halo 2 fanboys as well, who try to act like hardcore street thugs. It's obvious that these types of players receive mass amounts of negative feedback sent to Microsoft, yet a majority of them STILL have their accounts up and running. It's almost as if Microsoft could care less.
True, it's apparent that if a player is truly annoying that you can simple "mute" them. However, that still doesn't make their actions justifyable (for you won't be able to hear what kind of utter smack they're saying) and a majority of angry players (such as myself) won't put up with the mess any longer!! Oh, and by the way, I don't use a headset when playing online (though I DO own one).
From my statements above, it may appear as if I don't like the games online. It's not the games that I don't like, it's the morons online to whom I don't.
