Since he was just so persistent and I don't feel like studying for my midterm. Here it is, 5 random things (or possibly more) about me!
1 - I'm into ecchi anime/manga/etc. I mean it might not seem obvious, but I am. On the contrary, I'm also at the same time very interested in romance anime/manga/etc. Combine the both together and it's freaking win. Also, I'm not too into yuri (girl & girl), so please keep that in mind

A little ecchi, a little romance, mix em well and you've got my favorite kind of anime/manga.
2 - Despite being Asian, I'm not actually that awesome in math, nor do I excel in games like DDR or Starcraft, in fact, I'm pretty white washed. Can't blame me, I grew up in a pretty diverse environment, not to mention I went to French Immersion for 8 years (Elementary school).
I bet if I were to challenge them, I'd still lose. DDR isn't my forte, but I can still do a good jam on DJ Max Portable.
3 - Extending my fact 2, I don't know a lick of Cantonese. I can't speak, read or write. I can simply understand. This is due to the fact that I was learning French and Cantonese at the same time when I was young, I got easily confused trying to juggle to the two. Not to mention I'm just terrible with languages. So for now, I just know English and French.

Cannot. Compute.
4 - Despite loving JRPGs to the max. I'm terrible at SRPGs, I haven't been able to complete Fire Emblem games, Disgaea games etc. The only SRPG I've EVER completed was Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions. I know it's a little sad but for some reason, I just can't do it. I'm not a strategic thinker. Despite that, I still play them from time to time simply because I enjoy them until they become unbearable for me.

Forgive me, but I'm just...terrible at SRPGs.
5 - I'm very very awesome. Though this fact wasn't reflected in the SW Awards, I simply believe it was because I'm too awesome for votes anyways, people are well aware that I am awesome and don't feel the need to elect me.

Hurrah, I just preordered the deluxe edition of Demon's Souls. If you don't already know, Demon's Souls is an exclusive action RPG for the PS3. Known for it's steep learning curve and harsh difficulty, Demon's Souls is easily my most looked forward to game this year. As a fan of RPG, I accept the challenge that Demon's Souls has presented.

Absolutely beautiful.
Here's an unboxing from an Atlus PR, he sure loves the smell:
I'll be picking up Demon's Souls on the 10th, not sure why since the game comes out in 6th, guess it's Canada's fault for being so slow. Not to mention it's my birthday on the 10th, so it's a nice little present to myself.
Aside from Demon's Souls I plan to pick up Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, which is coming out tomorrow. Online co op is pretty much pure win for me as me and my friend plan to chose one of the female characters and slice and dice some enemies while "shaking it" up. If you don't already know, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 has a feature where you can "jiggle" the character's err...chest area. I'm sure there would be people who'd find it offensive, but I just think it's a pretty funny feature to add in there. In any case, I just hope people don't me as an extremely perverse because of this >_>

Work together and slash away demons.
Lastly, I plan to be picking up Lost Planet 2. After trying out the co op demo online, I realized that having never played the first, this is truly an improved game. The main flaw I didn't like in the first one, was the overtime loss of thermal energy. I understand it's a different climate, but I'm glad they changed it up here. While the gameplay is definetly solid such as fighting giant salamanders and to top it off, graphics are incredible. It doesn't ship till December, so it gives me sometime to finish off Demon's Souls and other games if possible.
I think that's all for the games I'll be getting this year, while there are others like Uncharted 2 and Ratchet and Clank and Forza 3, I think those will have to wait, or at least I'll have to check back on how much money I got left in my account before I go wildly spending on so many games.
Plus in Canada, games aren't cheap here

So I finally got a copy of Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the Wii. Ever since I saw gameplay videos for it, I couldn't wait to play it. So I popped it in, and let myself be engrossed by it's beautiful art style.
The first thing you'll immediately notice is when playing Muramasa is the art style. By no means is it graphics king, but it's clearly gorgeous in every aspect possible. It makes you stop and think, "Wow, am I playing this, seriously?". Yes it's damn good. I wish I had enough words to truly describe it to you, but it's just too hard, it's stunning. Let's leave it at that.

Pictures don't do this game justice, watch it in motion. It's beauty will surely capture you.
As for the gameplay of Muramasa, it's pretty simple to get used to. Is it an action RPG? A platformer with hack and slash elements? Or simply an adventure game? Who knows. If anything, Muramasa is it's own genre. While I'm not particularly familiar with action RPGs (I'm more of a turn based guy), it certainly doesn't feel like an Action RPG, even if it's labeled as one. Not that there's anything wrong with that, Muramasa's quick and easy user friendly controls lets anyone get in without having too much trouble.

Slice and dice monsters as Momohime or Kisuke.
B is your main source of attack. Holding B + a direction, or a variety of other button combination allows you to do a variety of moves. A drawback slash, useful against defensive enemies where you'll have to break their weapons prior to damaging them. The aerial attacks that allow you fly by enemies up to 3 times. Your standard B button combo, that can easily be chained with aerials, and others. The X button simply uses your items while your R button switches through them. Of course, there's always a downtime with items when it comes to Action RPGs. Along with that, you've got your "Secret Arts" attack that's different based on the sword you use. Allowing for even more variety of attacks. Though really in the end, it can leave to an often repetitive state of button inputs as you execute the same combos all the time. Well, I know I do at least
Defeating enemies wields EXP and souls, and as you level up, you're stats will grow, allowing you to wield even more powerful weapons while Souls are needed to forge weapons.Speaking of weapons. You can forge and attain new weapons as you progress further through the game, gaining spirit and souls and defeating bosses who wield very powerful swords (mainly to break down barriers, allowing you to further progress). The idea of weapons is simple, each weapon has a form of life bar, which eventually wears down as you attack, block, parry and other various things. When the bar hits zero, the weapon will break, forcing you to switch. The L button allows you to do in battle, you can hold up to 3 swords, holding L and releasing it when it glows allows you to perform a Quick Draw. Quick Draws are useful as they damage ALL enemies on screen, and it's a nice damage bonus to have when dealing with fiends and having to switch. In any case, with broken weapons, you'll have to wait around until the gauge fills up before you can use it again. So chose your attacks wisely or else you'll end up with 3 broken swords, and without a means of switching equipment during a battle initiation, it's probably in your best intention to save your hits and blocks for where it counts.

Boss battles are fun, epic, and require a lot of B button controlling.
Aside from the combat aspect. Muramasa contains little moments where you're required to talk to a variety of characters, allowing you to get a better understanding of the story. These little moments, while not anything spectacular, gives you a good break from all the B mashing you'll be doing in the most likely upcoming boss. You can also interact with other NPCs such as merchants and the such. Eating food at restaurants restores your health and grants you Spirit power. A vital source of weapon forging. You can buy maps to make exploring levels easier, a variety of potions and ingredients for you to cook.

Don't get too excited, Momohime's inhabited by a male demon

Well, I think I covered all that I can (remembered) from my few hours of playing this. I'm currently playing through Momohime's story while my sister is playing through Kisuke's (Yea, I know weird gender role reversal right?). Anyways, my biggest complaint with this game? It's a crime it's only on the Wii. More people seriously need to play this, and with the constant hate on the Wii's library, it's even worse that though Muramasa is a fantastic game, it'll go ignored by many blatant fanboys.
All in all, Muramasa's a fantastic game that should definietly be added to your library of Wii games.
P.S Yes, I hear it's similiar to Odin Sphere. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to play it.

Well today was the first day of school for me! All I had was a 3 hour lecture starting from 11 and ending at 2. The course was Object Oriented Programming, not one of my favorite subjects since I'm terrible at coding. But the prof who's teaching the course used to be one my favorite TAs, so that's good. Hopefully I can learn a ton since last year's programming course was kinda...bad...in terms of prof and marks (course I passed, but still I coulda done better). Anyways, all we did was go through the course outline, and a bit of review of basic programming. Luckily I still remembered most, if not all so I felt a bit prepared.
Anyways after clas.s was over, I decided to hang around for a few more hours with some friends before finally heading off home.
In other news, mainly gaming news, I've started a ton of games to kick off the new semester. Though it's not a good idea. So I started with Super Metroid, the classic SNES game that I know a lot of people mention when talking about the Metroid series. I personally have only beaten Metroid Prime 1 & 2 so I'm a little unfamiliar with the 2D Metroid games.

Fight a variety of bosses as bounty hunter, Samus Aran.
If you can't guess, I'm playing with a keyboard and it's really awkward to play sometimes. If I want to aim diagonally up or down, I have to use the L or R button, but that's placed right above where I configured my default shooting button. So it's a little weird trying to aim, jump and shoot sometimes. Also it's a bit harder to make precise jumps with arrow keys but I'm doing the best I can. Overall it's a solid game, it reminds me A LOT of Metroid Prime, which is funny since many say Metroid Prime is like a 3D version of Super Metroid.
I'm also starting up Final Fantasy I on the PSP. I'm not too far since I'm currently grinding at the moment, I made my typical party of Warrior, Monk, Black Mage and White Mage. Normally I'd name them after characters from other FFs (according to ****of course) but this time I let the game generate names for me. I'm really enjoying the PSP version, despite the graphical upgrade making it weird to look at. But I'll adjust. Final Fantasy I, along with II and IX are my favorites (IX being at the top) so of course it'll be fun for me.

It's ****c Final Fantasy at it's finest.
I'm also playing some games from the Ys series. Though it's not a well known series in NA, it's a fairly solid Action RPG. I can't divulge much detail about the Ys games (other than the fact that Oath loves em) since I'm not familiar with most of em myself. I'm currently playing Legacy of Ys: Books I & II on the DS which is Ys I and II combined. I'm also starting up Ys Origin. Which serves as a prequel to the entire series.

It doesn't look spectacular, but it gets the job done in telling a pretty solid story with good gameplay.
To make this short, I'll just mention one more game. I also started, what is known as the worst RPG ever made. That's right, Unlimited Saga. I was curious about this game since I've never tried it myself. 15 minutes of playing it nearly drove me insane. I couldn't make a lick of sense out of ANYTHING I was doing. There's no in game tutorial either that explains how the battle system work, how the Map Movement system thing works either. I spent a good amount of time just trying to figure out how to move on the map, how attacking would work, what the slots did, how to even get GOOD at the slots, what the symbols meant. Overall, it's just a big mess with a solid art **** I'll be giving it more of a try obviously, and hopefully I'll be able to beat it.

Interesting but unexplained battle system makes this a tough cookie to swallow.
Anyways I think that's it for games. I have other minor ones that don't have major priority such as Vagrant Story which I finally decided to start just to see what the craze is about. I also STILL have to finish My World, My Way on the DS just so I can start up Steal Princess. I'm sure there are more but that'll be it for now. Don't want to be starting more than I can handle.

Vagrant Story is another game with an interesting combat mechanic.

The game's just a GIANT grindfest + repetition. I don't suggest playing it unless you like those two things combined.

I don't know what it's about, but the name leaves me intrigued.
Also I'll be changing my avatar and blog header soon. Too many people have been asking me who the girl is, if it's me and asking me strange questions through PMs and such. As such I'll have to be taking her down, as to what I'll change it to, I'm not sure, I didn't think so many people wondered.
Anyways, I'm still playing BlazBlue online, so hit me up on PSN (silvur2) if you want. I believe that's all for now...
This is silvur saying, stay awesome!

Yea I'm finally back. My billing period ends tomorrow though, so technically I shouldn't be on. But whatever, I miss being on MSN, GS, posting, just plain miss being on the Internet in general. In the end, I got charged $22 on my bill (hopefully, it'll stay that way until the 1st), not too bad, my normal Internet usage would probably got me ending up at $50 so cutting off my modemn was a good idea in the end. I saved a ton, I almost went insane, and best of all, I did absolutely nothing!
You might've seen be me on the past few days, but really I've just been going on and off the Internet a ton, checking up on my billing period and inbox and stuff and then going off. Also to look up FAQs for games I've been playing and so forth. So the question remains, what have I been doing?
Well firstly, I was playing a lot of Secret of Mana, I reached the halfway point of the game when the emulator I was playing it on, just didn't like to save. It's happened twice, the first time I just thought I forgot. Second time, I clearly remembered saving, all in all, I didn't want to backtrack all the levels I had gained so I stopped playing. I'll get back to it when school starts.

Secret of Mana is definetly an awesome game. Just a shame saving isn't so.
I've also been playing Fire Emblem 6: Fuin no Tsurgi (or something like that) on the GBA. It's the game that stars Roy, you know that kid who uses fire attacks from Melee? Yea I got an English patch working on it and started to play it, while I do like the Fire Emblem series at the start, there's always a level that frustrates me simply because it's a difficult game. In the end, I gave up, I don't know how my friend can do it, but he just loves his Fire Emblem.

Fire Emblem 6 is a terrific game, only if it weren't so hard to complete.
I've also been playing, to my utter regret, Final Fantasy X-2. I have nothing against it really...but it's just that good. The combat is fun, the job system is unique, but the story is just...no. The voice acting is...okay but not the best. And something about the character models just bother me. Most of the time they don't blink or really move or they just look bad to begin with. Course this is an old game and follows up on 10, so it should obviously look the same but meh. I'm almost done the game, but I don't feel motivated enough to finish it, the game kinda feels forced a bit, like they really didn't know what to do for the most part and decided to finish it off in Chapter 5.

Yuna's showing off her new guns.
The only good thing about X-2 is I've come to appreciate Rikku a lot more now, her cute bubbly personality makes her easy to like, not only that, she's pretty darn cute. Anyways I hope to finish this game eventually, which will ultimately, and finally actually put my FF main series completion to a close. Of course, I'm going to have to beat it again once I start my 100% FF Completion playthrough so I better start liking the game quick.
Other than games, I've been reinstalling programs back on my laptop since I had to drop it off for a reformatting and pick it up back up with updated software. (It's my school's laptop hence why). Course I won't go into detail what programs I had to reinstall...mainly because it's best they are not discussed here on GS. As such, I haven't had the chance to really make any new sigs since I didn't have CS4 installed for quite some time, nor any images to work with, nor any real inspiration.
I've also been reading a book (Yes, I read!), War of the Worlds by H.G Wells. I've seen the movie (well the latest version), but decided what the hell, why not read the book as well? It's okay so far, nothing too different from what I remember other than different time periods.

A rather well known c.lassic.
I suppose that's all. Oh I'm sure some of you have noticed my latest obsession, the cute girl in my avatar and sig? Yea, she's quite the beauty and otaku. It's like every man's dream to have a girl like that really.
Well that's all for now I suppose, this is silvur saying, stay gassy!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I'll be inactive for probably a few weeks. I've reached my maximum bandwidth for a month (hell I went over!) and the more I use my Internet, the more I'll get charged. So far, I've racked up $18 extra on my bill, not a good thing since my mom will KILL me now.
As such, I'm turning off my modem. This means I won't be on MSN, GS, or be posting on union boards. I might pop in once or twice just to check how you guys are doing but other than that, you won't see me posting much until this month is over.
Enjoy the rest of your summer! I'll try to, without Internet

No impressions, no sig tutorial, just an update on life. So as many of you may already be aware of. Summer is over, and school is starting soon! Yes I hear your boos, and your hisses, and your boo worms and such, but it doesn't change the fact that school is an important aspect of your life. It's where you meet all your friends (where you share common game preferences and duke it on Melee), study it up (on game guides so you can be the best around) and of course just being the most popular (online on SF4 or something). Yes, school can be fun...if you like to read books, but what's better than a book? Reading the latest Nintendo Power so you too can learn the best secrets of any game.
(I silvur.cross do not endorse the idea of gaming over school education, please learn responsibly.)
Anyways, back to the subject of school. Fo' realz. Just wanted to share what my first week looks like at the prestigious life that is university:

Make no mistake, that's the ONLY ****I have on my first week. There's nothing under, nothing after, nothing but Object-Oriented Programming in UA1120 on a nice Thursday.
Pretty sweet huh? The real week starts the week after, did I mention that Thursday is my earliest lecture Yea, at 11 AM. While my latest is on Tuesday, ending at 10 PM. So I guess it evens out.
Man, I love university.
In other news, more specifically gaming news. Been playing Mass Effect. I don't normally play WRPGs, but I must say, this is a pretty damn good one. This and The Witcher are pretty fun. The shooting aspect makes combat interesting, the dialogue and story telling is perfect, there's a lot more, but I haven't even scratched the surface in this game.

Shooter mechanics plus RPG elements is what make Mass Effect so damn fun, and appealing.
I'm glad many have recommended it to me and I can understand where the praise is coming from. Hopefully I can complete this before school starts, looking at the GS guide, it seems fairly short. Not that it's a bad thing, just means there's a lot to look forward to in the sequel.
I'm also still playing BlazBlue, non stop. I play it at least for an hour when I come home from work just to make my day feel that much better. I've learned a lot more about the characters, seen some Astral Finishes, and understand a bit more of the gameplay mechanics. I've also taken up a new main, Haku-men. Why? Because he looks like a cyborg ninja with a sweet looking katana, not to mention, he's got the Nightmare stomp attack. And that's always fun, stomping on people. He's also a hard character to master, mainly because his attacks are fairly slow, but powerful, have good range, but sometimes when they're just out of reach, leave you open for attack, his skills also consume up magamata (or whatever), which his special skills also consume, so you pretty much have to manage them carefully, his skills are also sometimes predictable as a large symbol appears on the screen signifying he's performing one. His counter attacks are sometimes hard to get as it requires the ability to predict, and his astral heat is useless unless he gets hit, which is hard to do since it's just SOOOO obvious. He also lacks any projectiles which makes it hard when facing annoying Jins or something.

Black colored Haku-men is quite possibly the coolest looking thing ever.
I've also started to stop using Noel. Mainly because so many use her, and I've noticed a lot of vulnerable spots with her drive attack. That isn't to say she still isn't freaking hawt. Speaking of hawt, I think I found the hottest color variation of Litchi.

Blonde Litchi never looked so beautiful.
Anyways, by now you must be wondering what the blog title means. It means what it means, I plan to replay the FF series. Yea, that sounds crazy right, especially when I have so many games to go through. Which is why I hope to finish Tales of Vesperia, Xenosaga II + III and Mass Effect before school starts so I have all year long to play the FF series, not to mention all those SNES RPGs you guys mentioned (I must apologize for I have not gotten through them! I will for sure!) and other games like Alundra and various more.
Now what makes this playthrough a little different? Simple, I plan to play the latest version of every FF and do EVERYTHING. Yes, EVERYTHING. Now it doesn't seem like much to a few of you, but I'm talking about beating every secret boss, get every possible item etc. As an FF fan, I've never gotten the chance to beat say Ruby Weapon, or Emerald Weapon, but now's the chance. I've never once fully completed an FF, so this time around, I plan to do so.
The hard thing will be getting some versions of certain games, namely the International version of X and X-2 or the Zodiac Job System version of XII. But I'm definetly looking for them and will try to get them. Here's a list of the latest of every FF (that I know of):
-Final Fantasy I - Includes Dawn of Souls dungeon + Labyrinth of Time which holds one of the strongest secret bosses (PSP)
-Final Fantasy II - Same as I I believe. (PSP)
-Final Fantasy III - Remake of the NES version, change of jobs, Freelancer as worst, Onion Knight as best. (DS)
-Final Fantasy IV - The hardest version to date, includes Augments. (DS)
-Final Fantasy V - Not sure what extra content this version has (GBA)
-Final Fantasy VI - Extra dungeon (GBA)
-Final Fantasy VII - Nothing has been added (PS1)
-Final Fantasy VIII - Nothing has been added (PS1)
-Final Fantasy IX - Nothing has been added (PS1)
-Final Fantasy X International - Extra boss, harder than Braska's Final Aeon (PS2)
-Final Fantasy X-2 International - I think more dress spheres (PS2)
-Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Job System - FF12 with a job system I believe (PS2)
So those are the versions I'll be playing. Please don't say PC version of FF7 and FF8, they don't work properly on my laptop nor do I even want to find them when I have the PS1 versions.

NOT MY PICTURE!!
Pretty much what I'll be playing. And NO this is NOT my PICTURE. I lol'd because he has an X-2 and DoC guide. I don't recognize the version of FF12 he has.
Anyways guys, enjoy your summer, love school and all that stuff. This is silvur saying...stay c.lassy, Carmen SanDiego.

So I finally got my copy of BlazBlue yesterday. Been playing it non stop since I got it and I'm just taking a break now because I don't want to overheat my PS3 xD
So, I picked up my pre order during lunch while I was at work. They called me saying that it was ready, originally I wasn't going to pick it up until after work, but that was 4 hours later. Fearing the incident that occured at Future Shop and GTA4 would occur again, I rushed all the way to the mall during my limited half hour, picked up the game and get all the way back. I'll tell you now that it was a hot day, I was tired, and all that had me going in the morning was a brownie. Anyways, after work, rushed home with copy in hand and when I pulled it out of the bag that costed me a nickel, I promptly did the Zelda item pickup song. *Duh duh duh!!!
Soon after, I popped it in my PS3 and let the update patch. Once it started up, I selected Arcade mode. Immediately chose Noel Vermillion and faced up against comps. I must say, the combat in this game is EXCELLENT! The animation, the graphics, everything feels super smooth. It's an easy to pick up 2D fighter, so those who are just scared of "teh pros", don't. You too can easily master this game. Sure it still takes practice and dedication, but game doesn't? Regardless of learning curve.

"Oh Noel, you're so beautifully sexy when you do your Drive attacks."
Unlike games like Street Fighter or KOF, the attacks are simple in this game. You have A, B, C and D. Starting from Square and moving clockwise, Square would be A, Triangle B, Circle, C and X as D. A is for weak attacks, B is for medium attacks, C is for strong attacks and D is for drive attacks. Even the manual says you can easily create combos and feel like a pro simply by mixing up A, B, C and D. And I have to agree, creating combos is easily the most fun and easiest thing compared to other fighters. Now aside from the obvious different strength melee attacks or whatever, we have Drive attacks. Drive attacks are pretty much unique attacks to the character you're using. For example, Ragna has the Soul Eater attack which lets him steal health and heal himself. Jin has the ability to freeze people, Noel has the ability to easily create a smooth combo (think Marth in Dancing Blade in Smash). Each character has something different, and it's really up to you how you use them. To be honest, like most noobs who start up with Noel, one can notice that her Drive attack is easily spammable. Course, I'm trying my best to avoid that as I can easily be punished for spamming it (it leaves me quite open if I miss as there's a bit of lag at the end of the sequence). Lastly, specials, some of you know that specials might be the hardest thing right? Not in this game, specials are shortcutted onto the right analog, making it easy for new people (like me) to feel good and pull out a special without having to memorize. Of course, playing it online is a different story since in Ranked Mataches, it's turned off, and in Player Matches, it's more than likely to be turned off. So while it is good, don't rely on it too much. (Even then, the specials are easy to memorize, for example, 214C or something. Nothing long like the ones I remember in KOF XI)
So BlazBlue does the combat excellent. But what about the characters? If you don't know, BlazBlue only has 12 characters. All of them unlocked from the get go, there's nothing to unlock in this game aside from illustrations (which have comments from the devs! Some of which are hilarious). Now back on topic, the characters kick ass. Each and every one of them. They all bring their own unique way of fighting to the field. There's no obvious sign of advantage or disadvantage making it probably also really balanced. Not to mention, this is probably the only fighter where I've actually liked ALL the characters (not using them but their personalites, designed etc).

"Even the strange cat like creature Taokaka brings a unique but loveable personality to the table"
You've got a good variety. To strange cats, beautiful doctors, crazy ninja to the weird blob thing. You won't be disappointed from BlazBlue's various yet limited character roster.

"The beautiful and bustful Litchi vs the weird blob or goo thing Akarune, BlazBlue has something for you!"
Did I mention the characters each have their own unique story that ties them all together? In fact did I mention that BlazBlue's story is actually good? Yes, a fighting game has a GOOD story. Can you believe it? I sure as hell can't. Story mode is a seperate option you can chose when you start up, it plays similiar to a visual novel. You can make choices sometimes, losing or winning battles that you come across affects the outcome. Branching out different paths, leaving it up to you how you should progress. Other than that, the story mode is pretty basic, it has a good story combined with multiple paths until you figure out the true ending. BlazBlue certainly has a good chemistry going on, don't you think?
If you can't tell, the graphics for this game is incredible. The animation, the sprites, the details are all perfect. It's even better in motion, but let me tell you, I love every bit of this game's graphics. During story mode, the characters look great, the background, everything. It's hard to describe it without actually seeing it for yourself.
The soundtrack is awesome as well, ranging from a various of genres. They suit the character's themes quite well.
Overall, BlazBlue is a must play fighter if not get. It's amazing graphics, various characters and pretty much awesome gameplay makes it probably the best fighter this gen.

Well you guys asked, and I'm here to give you my answers. And man, you guys sure had a lot of questions, am I that shrouded in mystery?

Anyways onto the answers!
What do you look like? - Curtis_Bundy
I look Asian
To be more specific, I'm Chinese, born in Canada.Fine fine...here's a picture. I don't tend to ever show how I look like on the Internet, but I'll make this an exception.

It's an old picture, and I don't smile in front of the camera. Don't I look srs? Srsly.
What does your username mean and why are LVUR capitalized? - kfjl
My username just has my favorite color in it. Silver. The cross part was really random, normally I'd used siLVUR2, but I didn't like the idea of having a number on my Gamespot username. So I used the word cross. The reason why LVUR is capitalized is how it's pronounced, LOVE HER, kind of. See, deep down my perverted ways, I'm actually a romantic

Nah I kid, I just capitalized it to seperate it from the word cross since I can't use periods in usernames.
Whats your favorite character? - ramonl2
Hmm, you didn't really specify a game but here's my list:
-Tifa Lockhart (FF7)
-Yoshimitsu (Soul Calibur)
-Captain Falcon (F-Zero)

Tetris DS. It's easily one of my most addictive games. I even stay up super late just to face those crazy Japanese people over WiFi

Which is your favorite genre? - david_lck
RPGs mainly. I also like Fighting games.
Though to be honest, I play any genre as long as the game is fun.
Upcoming game that you are looking forward to? - david_lck
Final Fantasy XIII. I've been hyped up about it years ago, ever since I got my PS3 (before it was announced multiplat). That combined with Versus and Agito, I've got one heck of a lineup of FF games to beat.
What is your gender? - Kleeyook
I'm a male. Creepy, I know.
Since when do you play video games? - mattsn22
Err, I'm not sure what you mean, do you mean when I started? If so, I first played video games on the NES when I was a young kid. First game I played was Ice Hockey.
If you're asking when I play games in a week, I pretty much play everyday
Little by little I'm beating those RPGs.What is you goals in life? - Kid_Black_Star
-To finish university with a good GPA

Because she's the boss. And female bosses are always hot.
I like Kangaroos. Do you like Kangaroos?
Yea they're cool.
When 1 becomes 3, what is the love triangle relationship between 1, 2, and 3? - funsohng
Triple Triad? I don't know

Say someone plants a apple tree right before the day of the Apocalypse. There are 12 seeds coming out of the tree, and only 2 survives. When these 2 grow, there are 3 apple trees. From out of those three, which has the most potential to end their life as a peach tree? - funsohng
The 3rd one.
When 12 is factored, 2 and 6 are born. Then 6 factors again to give birth to 2 and 3. 3, son of 6, meets 5 and give birth to 1. When 1 married to 12, what is the child between them, and would he or she like Valkyria Chronicles? - funsohng
13? And yes, everyone must love Valkyria Chronicles.
If a man is running at 10m/s, what is the momentum he experiences as he hits a incoming a hot Asian chick at the speed of 232m/s opposite of his direction? And what would be the possibility of the man falling in love with the chick but chick dumping him because she's a lesbian? - funsohng
Err, the momentum would hurt? The possibility is 0, because if the chick never loved him, there is no dumping, only rejecting.

-Random. Annoying. Perverted. Persistent to a certain degree. Humourous? Though I'm a little skeptical about the last one.
If you had to kill 10 friend, who will they be? - thomassmash
-thomassmash x10, for making me answer such an evil question!
But then I'd use a revive spell so he can continue making awesome drawings
What is your absolute favorite video game or game series? - Bluegreen17
-Easily Final Fantasy. It's how I got into RPGs, despite Pokemon being the first.

Yea I know the title is a bit misleading.
Anyways, apparently I'll be going back to work on Friday. Plus another 2 weeks. This means I can no longer do my game marathons since I'll be gone for the whole day, toiling away for 8 and half hours, waking up at 6:30 AM every morning, going home at 4:30, sitting through traffic for half an hour...I'm grumbling away here but in any case. While I do have less pay time, the pay is good, I get $10 per hour, and not counting half an hour lunch every day, that's 8 hours a day so...do the math, 5 days, 8 hours a day, 10$ per hour. $400 per week. Now that's a ton of money (to me anyways...).
Like I said, I won't be able to do my gaming marathons. Not like this week mattered that much since my Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow save data got corrupted at the 2nd last boss. And I didn't really get too far in Secret of Mana. Since I'll be off to hang out with friends tomorrow, work on Friday, this leaves me with Saturday. So unless I have the game memorized by heart, I'm not going to beat it in a single day.
In any case, I won't be able to do this anymore, I might not even do it once I'm done working since it'll be approaching the end of summer and with that comes friends who'll want to hang out a lot before they go off to university.
Oh well, the less game time, the more money I suppose.
Lastly, I made a new blog header, whaddya think?

This week I'll be playing Secret of Mana and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow extensively. I decided to play one console and one handheld game per week as I don't think a single game will hold me out for a week, not to mention I can complete my backlog a lot easier this way.
Secret of Mana was released in 1993 on the SNES and re-released on the Virtual Console in 2008. The game is the second installment in the series and is a direct sequel to Final Fantasy Legend (which if you've played, is pretty similiar).
While I never got around to playing the original, I'm not too unfamiliar with the Mana series itself. Having played Legend of Mana, Sword of Mana, Children of Mana and Heroes of Mana (The latter two which utterly suck). I've always liked playing the Mana games especially Legend of Mana since it was my first one. The real time combat combined with slick graphics, combined with the ability to co-op made it one of my favorite games.
The only thing that messed me up about Legend of Mana was the fact that there was no story. I didn't understand anything that was going on and when you were as young as me when I played it, it pretty much confused you. I didn't get too far as I didn't know what to do not to mention I kept dying to some fish monster thing.
In any case, Secret of Mana will be the next Mana game I tackle and the first (hopefully) that I actually complete.

It's by Squaresoft so you KNOW it should be good.

This was a tough fight when I was just getting the hang of the battle system and Ring Command.

Vanquishing evil, one mushroom/rabbit thing/bee at a time.
The main character sure has some funky hair but who are the two beside him? Only one way to find out, to play the game.
I'll also be playing Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow on the DS. While I have played previous Castlevania games, notably the one on Gameboy, I've never gotten far due to some silly obstacle or frustrating part of the game. While Dawn of Sorrow does have it's frustrating parts, it certainly is addicting.
The game was released on the Nintendo DS in October 2005. It follows up on Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (which I've never played, let alone know about). The player is Soma Cruz, and apparent reincarnation of Dracula (Yea, the main bad guy, PLOT TWIST?!). As you can guess, he doesn't have a whip like many of the other protagonists. While it's certainly a lack of, it's not bad, there are still a variety of weapons to chose from, spears, knuckles, maces, swords, etc etc.
That aside, it's mainly an action adventure game, similiar to Secret of Mana, only in 2D. Since I don't understand much of the story that goes on, since I've never beaten a Castlevania game. I can't discuss much about it.

Hyper Beam!!!

A whole castle at your lesuire. Explore? Yes.

Make use of the touch screen as it'll help seal away those evil souls!

Look at that Soma, trying to grab something that isn't really there.
Overall, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is a fun game, and even though it's 4 years old, I'd still place it in one of my favorite DS games (though I haven't really gotten through the other two Castlevania DS games.)
Anyways, off to play these awesome games. See ya next week when I'm done! Hopefully.

Alright, back with another blog on how my sigs are made. To be honest I didn't think I'd ever do another, but hey, I'm bored, I have Photoshop open and I'm not making anything so why not? Plus I think it's a good chance for you guys (who are obviously way better than me, you know who you are!) to tell me anything I'm doing wrong, some good tips or anything of the sort. This will be a doozy since I currently have 4 sigs in rotation and I'll try my best to explain them all while minimizing on the reading

Also I've upgraded to Photoshop CS4, though there isn't much difference between all the CS, so if you're thinking about getting Photoshop CS and not sure which to get, get ANY as they are all pretty much the same (except CS4 can do 3D, though I've never tried, would be cool though...)
Anyways, onto the process, let's start with the easiest two of the 4:
"Kyou is beautiful under the artificial sun"

These two are the easiest mainly because they involve nothing but rendering, messing with filters and curves. They don't actually involve any real skill in using Photoshop. (Yea you can say they're not really "sigs" or whatever, but screw you, I still like em'
)
(Yes that's my desktop wallpaper, not a new Photoshop feature...anyways I hope you can see it since I cramped it all together this time and no, I won't be showing you what's under that window since GS will probably delete this.)
Anyways start off the same, make a new document or whatever. For me, I made it 346 x 128 (That's supposed to say 346) since I miscalculated my first sig and didn't want to do it all over again because I didn't get the right size. Moving on.
Next, open up your pictures and just drag and drop em in. Notice that the pictures aren't all that different from the finished sig.

Just note that I won't get the exact same finished product since I'm redoing it and it's hard to duplicate curves ^^"
Resize accordingly and then duplicate the layer. Change the opacity of new layer to around...50% Then right beside it, blend with the various settings. For the Kyou picture (the bottom one), I chose Overlay, and for the BRS - Miku picture (the top one), I chose Color Dodge. Don't worry about the weird lighting on the BRS one, it's meant to look like that.

Look at the Layer window to see what I mean.
Next step is filtering. You'll find Filter under the Filter option (obviously). Chose Filter Gallery to see various options. I usually always go for Diffuse Glow first in order to give it a nice shine or look. Play with the settings, setting graininess, how much glow etc. I usually coat it with Diffuse Glow twice.

You can see the various options for filtering. I already Diffused Glow-ed it twice (hence why you see that large white glare). Once I'm done glowing, I tend to outline it a bit using the Poster Edge filter. Play with the settings, so you can a nice look. Don't forget if you don't like it, you can always reverse it thanks to the History window.
Lastly, mess with the curves. Go to Image, Adjustments then Curves.

How the curves work is that you anchor a point on the straight line and then move it up and down, changing it's contrast depending on where you anchored the point. You can anchor many points if you want. The most common shape is the S-shaped curve for a good balance of light and dark contrast. I don't tend to do that. Like I said, play with it for the best results you want.
And for some final touches you can adjust the Brightness and Contrast under Images > Adjustment. This adds a bit more touching up (which I did in my current sig, just won't here since I can't remember the settings). Add some text and you're pretty much done!
Oh yea forgot, once done. I crop the entire picture. In other words I select the whole thing with the crop tool to cut out any excess picture that isn't showing. I then move onto the first Layer (the blank one on the list) and change the canvas size 2 pixels bigger on both the width and height. I fill Layer 1 with black and voila, a nice border.
I apologize for leaving out many details, but I don't want to get this to be too long. Not to mention the whole rendering thing really is playing with it in the end so how it looks is really up to you.
Onto the next signature:
"Yukiko over Rise, not in that dirty way"

Before, I showed you how to make my Persona sigs, this time, I decided to combine Yukiko and Rise into a sig a la Persona 4 (which I didn't do correctly all the way). Anyways this once again deals with layers, but this time with the addition to selecting certain pixels.
Once again, start off your sig or whatever with a new document or image. Same size as before.
First, fill this layer with the color of your choice. I chose green (I meant yellow, not sure why I did that, my eyes are playing tricks on me, if you didn't know, my eyes are very poor when it comes to color recognition, not colorblind per say, but maybe somewhere close?)

I use the polygonal lasso tool to make a custom shape. This then selects this area only, very useful when wanting to color or erase at a specific border. You don't have to use the lasso tool, you can use the marquee tool which does the same thing but with limited shapes.
Anyways fill this with a nice shade of dark gray or black.
Gather your pictures. Cut them out of the white background or whatever it may be using the magic wand, or any tool you prefer. And do the same thing, select inverse and just drag em in. Clean any leftover pixels from the background and resize accordingly. For Konohana Sakuya (the winged Persona), an easy way of reversing the picture is simply by Free Transforming and adding a - in front of the Width % at the top.

Once you've got your things cut out, dragged in and resized accordingly. The next step is the ordering the layers in the right order. Whatever goes on top of the list, goes on top on the image. So remember it's important or else things will show where you might not want it to show.

It's also a good idea to name your layers so it's easy to find the one you're looking for. I don't usually since I almost never deal with this many layers.
Do the same for the P4 logo and it's done. Add in some text if you want, render it if you want anything.
Now for the last signature, this one will be the hardest, but also have the shortest amount of pictures/steps since the process took me 2 days, something I don't have when blogging.
"!@#$%'n text!"
The most frustrating part of any image is the text that comes with it. Sometimes, you don't want that nonsense. I know the feeling, I know the frustration of trying to work it out. The problem with text is mainly you can't just backspace it. There are various methods of eliminating text, the clone stamp tool, the healing tool, patching tool and of course, just repainting it, pixel by pixel.
This section covers my very seducing signature:

Now, this signature took me 2 days to finish. Why? Because the right side was actually covered with a WALL of text. Which is why it looks a bit blurry on the right side. Here's the original:

The actual image was 7 MB, and took a long time to resize.
Anyways, you can obviously see that it's a pain to get rid of. You can also notice that there are a few things missing from my current sig that the original picture has (i.e hair). Well if you must know, I pretty much had to repaint ALL of the hair you see on my current sig, with text that small cramping everything on the right leaving me with almost nothing to work with when it came to the shades of the hair etc, I decided to keep it simple. Anyways, this will be no easy image to work with, and repainting is a painful process since hair is probably the hardest to work with thanks to all the different shades.

These tools will be your best friends when it comes to repainting. The first is VERY useful as the droplet tool or whatever it's called will help you determine what color by simply selecting the pixel color you wish to copy. In other words, you don't need to randomly guess the color, you can just select it with the dropper tool and it'll copy the color's shade etc. The second is the patch tool, this pretty much what it says, it copies a patch and pastes it somewhere else. The paintbrush tool is obvious, you'll need it to repaint. The clone stamp tool is useful, but not in the case of hair. Eraser is for erasing though you won't need it when repainting. Gradient tool is not used here, Blur, Smudge and Sharpen are very useful, Burn, Dodge and Sponge (not so much Sponge) are also useful. You'll need these tools to smoothen out any "unnatural".

As you can see, this was my progress half way through. I tried my best to make it look as natural as possible.
It's hard to explain the process as one needs to understand the tools. Blur does what it says, it blurs, it's useful for making a nice fade or trying to hide tiny details. Smudge is good for moving and mixing around different colored pixels to make a swirl or a nice fade as well, combined with the blur is very useful. Sharpen is decent, not one of my favorites but it helps make certain pixels stick out.
Burn tool darkens the pixels by "burning" them. This is useful when combining with smudge and blur allowing you to mix up shades together. The dodge tool is the exact opposite, it lightens up the shades. Once again, useful when combining with blur and smudge to mix different colors.
In the end it's a painful process that took me 2 days and I wish the best of luck anyone wanting to do this.
Also to cover up my obvious mistakes and suckiness, I used a variety of brushes. You can find such brushes on deviantart, there's a huge selection. Also for fonts you can either Google for specific fonts (i.e Final Fantasy font) or I use dafont.com.
________
Well that's all there is to it with the tutorial. Hope it helped. I know this time I was a bit short with the pictures and text, but explaining 4 sigs is a lot. I won't be making sigs for awhile (quelle surprise!) as I'm currently really busy.
Also next week, I'll be starting my "This week: somegamename" marathon. It's an idea I came up with where I spend the entire week playing a single game as much as possible, every week, until the end of summer as I'll be going back to uni in Sep and probably won't have as much free time. I'm also aiming to beat the game by the end of the week and blog about it. Hope you guys will enjoy that
The games will mostly be the ones you suggested, i.e SNES RPGs, with a mix of maybe some PS2 or anything else I feel I should beat. Course there will be constraints such as no multiple disc games (as they take way too long) except for a few exceptions such as Xenosaga II. Also nothing Persona like, i.e 100 hours since I do have a social life to attend to
not to mention I need to be reviewing my networking or else I'll fail second year uni hard >_>Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed the tutorial and see you next week on my "This week: " gaming marathon!

Just an update blog.
So I started playing Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, not a big fan of Guilty Gear games, I'm more of a KOF guy. Not like I'm any good in either or many fighting games. The last Guilty Gear game I played was on the PS2...I think it was just called Guilty Gear X or something, my friend was a big fan of it, his favorite was Chipp Zanuff and he was really good.
So far my favorite characters are Millia, Jam, and Kys. The game is a blast even if I suck at it. I think it'll be a nice warm up if I ever get BlazBlue (which I was looking for yesterday).
Anyways I've also started playing PANGYA: Fantasy Golf on the PSP, it's this weird anime styled golf game involving, it's addicting though. I'm not too big into sport games or any kind for that matter, but something about this game makes me want to keep playing, highly repetitive though, a lot of the same holes and such. I don't understand the rules of golf, but that doesn't matter, this is pretty fun.
Lastly, I got a new external hard drive (640 GB) and it's so much fun filling it up, my computer feels free from all that junk and I don't have to worry about deleting or anything when it comes to saving space on this very limited laptop.
Oh and I'll also be temporarily working for the whole week next week, so I might be a little inactive.
Also thanks everyone for the suggestions in my previous blog, I started up Secret of Mana, slowly but surely I'll beat it xD

Been hearing a lot of word about some of the best RPGs being on the SNES, mind sharing some? I'm a bit clueless and I can't seem to find a good list naming them all.
I won't go into detail into how I'll be playing these games, but I think it's pretty obvious

To be honest, I didn't plan on doing this for awhile, but I decided to give my PS2 a bit of a break once I finish Persona 4.
So, name away!
Oh and Happy 4th of July to you Americans, hope you had a good day!

I've been getting some positive feedback about my current sig. But I just wanted people to know that it's not all that hard to make at all! (To be honest, I think my sig is rather plain compared to other people who really know how to fiddle with Photoshop). Now I'm no expert on Photoshop, I've only recently started experimenting with it, so don't think I'm all that!
I'm using Photoshop CS, I know there are newer versions but my CS3 thinks my fonts are corrupted and won't let me write Text...so I'm using CS.
Now onto the process on how I make my sigs.
I'm currently making a new sig (updating my current one as I no longer have Yukiko's Konohana Sakuya Persona since I maxed out her Social Link, thus I felt the need to update it to Amaterasu).
First to start off, open Photoshop and create a new image, let's call it P4-TALESOFVESPERIA

Now if you can't see that (which most of you probably can't, my monitor is at a 1680 x 1050 resolution so it gets cramped on places that don't fit the picture...) Anyways, make your width and height, for me, I put 550 x 150, this is because my current sig is 575 x 150, course that doesn't fit on GS if you haven't noticed. For resolution, I put 300. (I can't remember why, a friend told me to just put 300).
Next, cut out the picture. In my case, I cut out Amaterasu and dragged it onto my New image. I then resized it accordingly. But I'm not done there! Even with the magic of Magic Wand, I was only able to get most of the silly background out. Since the picture of Amaterasu is pretty complicated (unlike Konohana Sakuya), I'm gonna have to pixel by pixel erase color I don't need.

It's a painful process. This part took me roughly an hour to get done. I tried my best in erasing pixels I didn't need all at the same time keeping it smooth and making it look natural when you zoom back out. The problem with the Magic Wand even at 1 Tolerance is that it's hard to get the exact pixels, hence why I used the Eraser. There's probably an easier method, but whatever.
Once you're done, you should have a clean looking picture. Or an almost clean looking picture. Try to smoothen out any jags that are obvious. Check and get rid of any background color that might be tucked away hidden in the picture. Don't worry too much about the finer details, if it looks smooth, it's fine.

Now that's finished. I'm then going to add the Vesperia pictures (Yea I realized I should've added Yukiko first...but whatever). Now the neat thing about finding good images is that if you can find pictures like I did for Vesperia, most of the work is done for you. In my case, I already found a neatly cut out picture of Judith and a simple picture of Estelle with an easy to cut white background. Remember when making sigs, the better the picture, the easier it is to work with! Especially the quality, higher quality = easier. Lower quality = annoying and might not be possible.

Beautiful pictures right? So all I do is the same as I did for Amaterasu, drag em over to my new image. I should also resize them accordingly, also checking that both pictures are pretty close in scale (Since the Estelle picture is slightly bigger than Judith). This makes it consistent, which is good in a signature.
Once I dragged them to the right side, and resized them accordingly. I can then make my divider. Click Layer and select New Layer. Now that you've got your brand new layer, you can make your divider on. I used the polygonal lasso tool to make a nice diagonal rectangle. (Remember to close up the lasso) I then clicked Edit and chose Fill and filled my newly made rectangle with a nice color of white.

With that done, all that's left is to outline. Right click the layer the divider is on and select Blending Options. Select Stroke and chose the color of Black with the length of the stroke being 1 pixel wide. You can then move your divider around until it's neatly placed in the middle of the two. Once that's done, you're ready to erase any thing overlapping the divider.
This is the real easy part, chose the Eraser and select a random width, I chose 36 pxl. Then chose the Amaterasu layer, start erasing anything on the Vesperia side. You can also erase over the divider (this doesn't erase the divider itself since it's on a different layer) giving it a nice clean erase and cut. Do the same for Judith by erasing on the Amaterasu side (after clicking Judith's layer). Aren't layers a beautiful thing? Making erasing things just that much more simpler.

Once I was done with that. I added Yukiko, the P4 logo and the Vesperia logo using the same method I did with the other pictures. Once again, finding good and easy to use pictures is always beneficial in sig making.

And voila! Done! All that's left is adjusting the divider and pictures so it looks pretty close to the middle. I can also touch up each picture my fiddling with Filters, Blend Options, Curves, Contrast and other stuff. But for now, this is pretty simple.
Lastly save the picture as a .PNG file. This step is crucial or else by default (i.e JPEG), there will be a white background. Not to mention .PNG produces a much higher quality picture compared to JPEG.
Here's the original sig:

And here's the updated one:

Much better no? No probably not lol. I prefer the older one mainly because Konohana Sakuya looks like she has some kind of face or something. But oh well, Yukiko just had to evolve her Persona into a faceless one. I'll probably also make the lighting on the characters somewhat consistent and probably make the divider thinner.
Reason for this blog? Because I have nothing else to blog about

Thanks for reading.
Edit: Whoops, I forgot to clean up Estelle on my newer one.
Also my sig represents what games I'm currently playing, hence my weird P4 and Tales of Vesperia hybrid

*Note this is just a joke, do not take seriously.
-Well for starters, the main character of both games are respectively called Cloud and Lightning. Don't you find that a little strange? Lightning come from clouds, etc etc? Their names are pretty much the same if you think about it.
-Another thing, Lightning is pretty much a female Cloud. I remember in Wikipedia stating that the design for Lightning was based off Cloud, don't believe me. Here's a picture with the swears censored.

Scary, huh?
-Another thing, the weird mechanical thing that Lightning faces in the first trailer (the one with English subs but Japanese voiceovers). Looks like a scorpion, I'm going to assume that this is the first boss Lightning encounters. Now who was the first boss Cloud encounters? That's right, a red scorpion thingy that counters with that silly laser.

It's a little hard to see, but if you watch the trailer again, you'll notice that it looks like a scorpion, it has a tail similiar to one.

Here's the boss Cloud faces. Hmm...scorpion bosses. Strange.
-Lastly, the idea of "Cocoon" is similiar to Midgar no? The concept of some powerful "something" controlling the "city". Lightning also looks to be a part of some rebel group simliar to Cloud being a part of AVALANCHE (as a mercenary).
So there you have it, it looks like FF13 is actually the FF7 remake. So feel excited guys, this is what you wanted no?
P.S Another thing, FF13 is the only other game to get so many games in the same universe. (As in, more than just a sequel). FF13 currently has 3 games, FF7 currently has 4, 2 OVAs, a movie and I believe a novel. I wouldn't be surprised if FF13 has a movie in the future.
*Do not take this seriously

Yeaaa! I finally completed Final Fantasy 12. What does this mean? It means I've at last completed every numbered/main series FF (excluding X-2 and 11 for various reasons). The game was an overall cinch. Going through the trouble of getting the Zodiac Spear was worst than facing Vayne. That's how easy this game was. Or maybe it's because I easily stacked my characters with Bubble Belts + Bravery + Hastega and just went wild all over Vayne, not to mention a constant stream of Curaja gambits while skills such as Matyr and Inquisitor helped me replenish MP. Wow I just realized, this is the first time I've never used items against an FF final boss. Surprising. All that Elixir collecting was a waste.

Vayne's first form. The battle was so easy, I put my controller down, got a drink and my gambits did the work for me.
The worst part about it all was that I still didn't get what was going on with the story. Something about preventing a war, Bahamut being some crazy fortress. Venat, the Occurian, the hell do these things mean? Not to mention both the Sword of Kings and Treaty Blade look heavy, but in a scene, you can see Ashe hold both without much trouble. Really makes me wonder about their strength...
Anyways, I finished the game at level 57. A little low I think since I didn't bother auto levelling. Nor did I bother getting swords like Excalibur.
In conclusion, I'm glad I finally finished up the series. Overall, Final Fantasy remains to be one of my favorite series, while there are flaws in each game, they each easily make up for it. Except FF3, that game sucks.
Anyways, now that's over. I'll be moving on to Persona 4. At last I'll be diving into the Persona world once again, I started a bit before but I kept dying against Shadow Yukiko that I stopped. Guess it's time to give it another shot.

Time to put on the shades and solve the mysterious murders of Inaba!
Anyways enough about games. My summer break has been fine so far, I haven't been meeting with friends lately, they seem to be busy and such. So when I'm not gaming, I'm usually bored out of my mind which is why I'm frequenting GameSpot forums a lot more lately.
In other news, a good friend nftw will be leaving tomorrow. I wish him the best of luck and hope he returns soon. The FFUU won't be the same without him.
Anyways, I think that's it. Anime I'm watching right now would be K-On!, will start Code Geass in a bit. And I'm still slowly beating away at DS games. Yup, the usual stuff from me.

Thought it'd be nice to blog about games rather than my usual unnecessary and silly rants about anime characters, life and my obviously incorrect philosophical views on life. Though I wasn't planning on blogging about games until I finished Final Fantasy 12, but what the hey, I won't be finished it any time soon thanks to a bunch of distractions. Do note that pictures were added simply because a wall of text is something I'm sure you guys don't want to see.
Alright, so if you haven't guessed the title of the blog alludes to the fact that I'm not done every numbered (or main series) Final Fantasy game to date. I have Final Fantasy XII left (not counting X-2) and I don't plan on finishing it very soon due to the fact that it's utterly boring at this point. I'm at the Stilshrine of Miriam and I can't be bothered to finishing it. I feel a bit underleveled as well, my characters are lvl 31 with a very obscure license board for each and everyone of them (like I didn't know adding more Quickenings increased MP until I actually got more Quickenings onto a single character). My main party consists of Fran, Balthier and Ashe. Why? Because who wouldn't want to be a hot bunny woman shooting arrows from afar teaming up with a very likeable character and the Princess of the damn country you're fighting for! I don't know about you, but that sounds like a winning combination to me. Other than the sheer boredom that I'm experiencing right now, I realized how much I need to level and gain before facing off with Vayne. There's a ton of skills I feel I'm missing (due to my inexperience with the license board) and I really gotta spend my time grinding away. Something that made me stop Persona 3 FES for like several months when I got to the end. In any case, I'll finish this game, I got all summer long but I don't expect it'll be very soon.

Just can't be bothered with this place. Rotating statues, Sword of Kings and another boss that I believe is an Esper.
Like I said in the beginning, there are a few distractions that have stopped me from playing Final Fantasy XII. One of these distractions is Dragon Quest IV. I've played Dragon Quest(Warrior back then) VII on the PS1 and I thought it was the greatest RPG ever, course I never completed it because I hardly grinded so I got easily whooped by a boss. Dragon Quest IV has the same battle system, first person perspective, really text based, think Earthbound but actually being released in NA. I'm only at the start of the game, but for a good reason, I've been caught up in anime. But I do plan on getting far and beating every Dragon Quest possible. I love the story so far and I can't wait for Dragon Quest VI, IX and X to all be released so I can beat those too.

This is how a remake should be, old school graphics with sprite updates. Not like that silly 3D remake of FF3 and FF4.
Another game that I have to get back to is Xenosaga II. Yea, that terrible mess of a game that ruined everything. I played Xenosaga I a long time ago, beating it with ease while the story gave me a headache as I had no idea what was going on and it was way too sci-fi for me. The anime didn't help either because it was different from the game. Anyways in Xenosaga II, I'm on Disc 2 which isn't surprising considering how incredibly SHORT Disc 1 was. And I am not kidding on this part, I remember playing Disc 1 for about maybe a day and a half? And it told me to swap. I thought it was some kind of joke, no way could it be finished so fast. Not to mention I hate the battle system, Xenosaga I had an awesome battle system. I don't even know what I'm doing on Xenosaga II when it comes to battling, I'm just mashing buttons as I go and I somehow advance. Yea that's how bad it is. Though I hear Xenosaga III is a lot more redeeming. Shame it only ended up to be a trilogy because of Namco's silly team screwing everything over with the series. If you plan on playing Xenosaga, I'd recommend getting the Xenosaga I + II package on the DS, while it's only in Japanese, the fact that it combines both games as a single okay battle system is better than playing something awesome (Xenosaga I) than something utterly crappy (Xenosaga II).

Xenosaga I > Xenosaga II.
Lastly, I've been focusing on Pokemon Platinum a bit. Only natural as the next DS Board Tournament is coming up and I really need to make a new team since Scizor got banned. And my Bullet Punch idea got thrown out the door. If you haven't registered or if you're interested here's the link:
http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26897053&tag=topics;title
While I'm not sure how to really make a overall good team while still including some of my favorite Pokemon. I'm just having fun battling people.
To conclude, I suppose my PS2 has taken up a lot of my time, combined with anime, I hardly find myself beating anything lately. Course add the fact that I plan on replaying Persona 3 FES and I've got a bunch of RPGs on my 360 to start (The Last Remnant, Tales of Vesperia). I've got a long summer ahead of me.

I don't think the topic of love is a good place to discuss on a gaming site. But I really need to vent out my anger out on this one.
*SPOILERS if you care...*
I've been watching the anime School Days. While I thought it was a typical romance based anime involving a love triangle, I didn't know how badly it would really turn out. The main character, Itou confesses and loves a girl he sees everyday on the train, agressively, Itou always tries to move things forward with the girl (Katsura). Course since he's so inexperienced, he keeps doing wrong things with her since she's a shy girl. That's why he enlists the aid of this other girl who sits beside him in class every day (Sekai). Sekai helps him out a lot, soon enough, Itou wants to "do things" to Katsura. Sekai helps him out by "practicing", soon the practices become something more meaningful to Itou. As you can guess, Sekai and Itou start seeing each other, keeping it all a secret from Katsura. Katsura eventually discovers their affair but doesn't want to acknowledge it, she solely believes that she is Itou's girlfriend and nothing can change that. Soon time slowly passes and the school festival comes, this is the part that made me really hate Itou's character. Here he is, already promising Katsura that he'd dance with her, only to end up dancing with Sekai, only to end up sleeping with Kadou (his middle school friend who confessed to him that day). Not only does he two time Katsura, he two times Sekai. It really pisses me off beacause throughout the episodes Katsura gets bullied constantly by Kadou's friends who mock her about her boyfriend. All at the same time this is going on, Sekai's friend Setsuna urges Itou that he stop seeing Katsura and only focus on Sekai. Setsuna wants this because she is moving soon and soon Sekai will have no one left but Itou. After a series of confusing events, Itou ends up sleeping with a Kadou's friends, Kadou repeadetly, and this other girl Hikari. He constantly betrays the only people that loved him, here he is, he could've been happier than ever, being in a love with a girl who's willing to change herself for him, do anything she can to be there. Instead he sleeps around like the perverted ****er he is. His attaction to any of the girls is purely physical, he attempts to create an emotional bond only to break the other bonds he's created with the others. In the end, Katsura goes insane, Sekai gets pregnant, Kadou leaves him, Hikari also leaves him, Kadou's friends only wanted sex. Itou realizes his mistake in the end, wondering why anyone could possibly love him until he meets Katsura again, obviously lost her sanity with her dead looking eyes. Itou confesses once again, that the girl he should've been with all along was her. She retains some form of sanity until Sekai finds out and steps in. Sekai goes insane and ends up killing Itou after being told to go to the hospital and get an abortion. Katsura finds his body, and fakes a meeting with Sekai, showing her Itou's decapitated head, she then kills her and checks to see if she really was pregnant. In the end, she goes insane while sailing away on the ocean holding Itou's head.
*End of spoilers*
There you have it. While watching it, I felt a lot of anger against Itou, he confesses to a girl he likes, he does the best he can, but in the end he was only after it to get laid. Every girl he meets up, he only does it for the sex. He says he has an emotional bond called love between the two, but all he does is hurt more, he hurts the people that truly love him even more. It makes me wonder, why does a guy like him deserve so much love? Why do they still love him after all his sins and mistakes? Why?! I wanted to know what was going on in his mind when he confessed and when he was having sex with someone else. I wanted to really punch my screen everytime he was dodging questions about his relationship. Normally I don't hate the main characters in anime, but this one, I just really wanted him to get what he deserved. While the ending was sick and twisted, he got what he deserved, saying he's doing it in the name of love, when all he wants was the sex.
Makes me wonder about the world and the kind of people are in it. How can people cling onto the one they love so much? Even after all they've done? Why does one yearn for their heart to be fulfilled by another, no matter who or what they did. Why do girls find themselves hurt so often? Why can't guys just find a little heart in them? Though I can't promise anything, I never want to be like Itou. I don't want to see my world collapse because of something like sex or because I believed I was in love with someone else. How can one hurt those who truly love them, and that they once truly loved? Isn't it strange? To hold together or break something as strong or fragile as love with simply a kiss? Such unforgivable things, but alas I suppose we live in an unforgivable world.
Sorry if you guys had to read a silly blog about love, it doesn't sound very manly but I really needed to vent this out.
See that face? I want to Falcon Punch it to the ****ing ground.

Hey Itou...

FALCON PAWWWNCHHHHHHH!!!!!!
If I had time, I would've Photoshopped Itou onto Fox or Mario getting punched.
God I'm so angry about this that I'm scared my PS2 controller will break while playing Final Fantasy 12.
