Ok folks, here's an update for everyone about InsomWeekend....
I never heard one way or another on whether people wanted to start at a different time on Night 2, so for now I guess activities will start around the same time they are for Night 1. Check out my previous blog for more information regarding start times and such: http://www.tv.com/users/shmandda/profile.php?action=show_blog&entry=m-100-25667993
Just come when you can on either nights, as shenanigans should hopefully still be going on.

Also, I just found out that I unfortunately have to work a little later than I anticipated on Friday, therefore I'll be a little late to the party.
I'll try to pop in when I can while at work, but I never know how busy I'll be, so I can't say for sure. Basically, you all will have to get things going without me.
Ok, next item would be games. I figure since we've already got a trivia thread going in the forum, that's set to run on it's own for those interested in that. However, the consensus is that a pic trivia game is the way to go, and it looks like I'll be heading up. I'll do my best, but try to remember that I'm new at all this, so if it sucks I'm sorry in advance.
I was thinking that it might be more fun to do the pic trivia like we do regular trivia. Like, say I put up a pic, and you guess which episode it's from, then it'd be your turn to provide a pic....? Or is that how it's supposed to be done? I told you guys I have no idea what I'm doing here, so bare with me.....
Speaking of pics....be sure to get your favorite goodies of SPN relation ready to share with everyone. I'm sure at this point most pics would be repeats, but we can't have the night go on without any treats.

I think that covers everything. I hope to see everyone who can make it this weekend, annnnd......
HAPPY SPN FINALE THURSDAY!

It breaks my heart to hear that the world has lost an extremely talented, and much loved member of the Whedonverse. As I'm sure many other Angel and Buffy fans around here already know, Andy Hallett died last night of heart failure at the age of 33.
There really aren't words right now to express how much he'll be missed.

23Nov 08

That's right kids, it's time for my take on last weekend's Supernatural Chicago Con. I was lucky enough to have been present at this momentous occasion, and in very good company might I add.
But, before I get started, I feel like I should say thank you to the person whom without, I wouldn't have been able to attend....so Lizz, thanks.
Oh, and beware, it's a long one....Now, on with the show! First I have to tell you all, that I've never been on an airplane before, EVER.
I know, it's shocking, but true. I guess you could say that's one thing that I have in common with Dean Winchester, we're both terrified of airplanes. Or I should say, I did have that in common with him, because now, it's a piece of cake.
I arrive at O'Hare, which is flippin' huge, so gathering my luggage and finding my way to the shuttle center was more than a workout. But needless to say, I make my way to the shuttle center, which is me & Rachael'smeeting spot since her flight was coming in right after mine. So I sit there waiting, and texting Merina, and waiting some more. Turns out her flight was running late, and somehow while I was off checking on her (I think, this part is still unclear to me
) she managed to sneak past me and catch the shuttle while I sit there, still waiting. Not long after though I get the text form Merina that she was at the hotel (and with some confusion still) I started to make my way there and when I arrived, I was greeted at the door by what would be my partners in crime for the rest of the weekend. So we get all checked in and decide to grab some IHOP before the new episode because my poor twin doesn't have IHOP's in Canada, so off we went to what is only the first in 3 or 4 times that we ate there.
We make it back in time to get all settled to watch I Know What You Did Last Summer (which, let me say I'll be blogging in the future about that episode, and Heaven and Hell, because yeah, they were that awesome.
). What a great experience it was to watch it with Tox and Merina, who are maybe the only two people in the world who would've loved that episode as much as I did for the exact same reason.....we're all sadists, and we love Sam and Ruby together.
So we turned in early (ish, the earliest we did all weekend
) to get a fresh start the next day.So on to Friday.
After getting our tickets from Lizz, we headed out to pre-reg, where we received the following plus a nifty little color coded bracelet that we had to wear ALL weekend:

Yeah, that says Gold Pass, Row D. Again, Lizz.....thank you!
Our seats were pretty great, and I was sandwiched between my twin and Paley all weekend, which if I must say was a pretty good set up.
So our day started out with some Supernatural fan vids, and our first guest of the weekend, the darling Gabriel Tigerman.
Sorry, some of my pics are kind of blurry because my camera sucks. Trust me, I'll be investing in a new camera before next Chicago Con. And yeah, I'm totally going.
So anyways, Gabe was funny and adorable, and just a cool guy in general. I was actually lucky enough to have my pic taken with him in a photo op, but the other person in the pic has yet to send me a copy...
Anyhow, the next guest was Steve Carlson, which I didn't get any pics of because, to be honest, I don't really like him all that much. So, on to our next guest, Richard Speight, Jr.

Our Trickster was a delight as well. He had lots of interesting stories to tell, one including Jared's dogs (which, who didn't have a story about Harley & Sadie?
) and lots from the set of Band of Brothers. So after that, they signed autographs, and that concluded Con events for Friday. Well, unless you count Steve's concert, and a Karaoke contest (which sadly I wasn't aware of, but meh, I'll catch it next year I guess) in the hotel bar. So, after dinner with Shazz and Paley (at, you guessed it, IHOP), Tox, Merina, and I thought it'd be fun to play a Supernatural drinking game. Let me tell you, while it was fun while we were playing till 4 in the morning, it was most certainly not fun the next day.
So, on to Saturday.
It was rough people, I'm not gonna lie. Samantha Smith went on at 11:30, and trying to get there in time, and stay awake, was a major task. Well, at least for me and Merina anyways. Tox has some weird thing where she can get no sleep but still have tons of energy....crazy I tell ya. But anyways, the time came, and the lovely Samantha Smith graced the stage.

Let me just say, they don't do her justice on the show. Mama Winchester is much prettier in person, and sweet as can be. And surprise surprise, she also had a story about Jared's dogs.

Next up was the uber talented Jason Manns, but unfortunately I didn't get a single good pic of him, so I'm not even gonna bother posting it. He did have a funny story about he and Jensen shooting each other with bb guns, which was more than amusing.

Our next guest was Charles Malik Whitfield.

He was also really cool. He had a lot of interesting stories about himself, and where he grew up, what projects he's worked on. And we learned that his favorite curse word is motha f*cker.

Following Agent Henrickson was our very own Ash, aka Chad Lindberg.

Let me just start off by saying, that he is hilarious. I mean, despite my lack of sleep, he had me cracking up. Very funny guy. And yeah, he's wearing an extra small mullet hat (that he stole from his nephew) to please us fans. He totally rocked.

So, after getting our autographs, we had a little break before the Jason Mann's concert and dessert party later that evening. I tried to nap, but no such luck. Tox and I decided to take a trip to Target and then Chipotle for dinner (woohoo, no IHOP!), so we made our way across a very cold parking lot and then back to the hotel. Unfortunately, the guests got a bit behind in autographs, so the concert started late. But eventually Jason took the stage and put on a great show, and despite me only getting 5 hours of sleep the night before, and Jensen not being there to do a Crazy Love duet, it was really a lot of fun.
So from here we moved on the dessert party. Basically, if you've got a Gold Pass, you have access to things that others do not. This would be one of those things. How it goes down is, that you go in and get to choose from a variety of different desserts, then all the guests so far from that weekend come in and while you're eating they each come around and hang out your table for a few minutes. Sounds great in theory, but when it's midnight and you're seriously lacking sleep, and you know you have to get up at the crack of dawn the next morning for breakfast with Jensen & Jared (again, another perk of going Gold
)your table is sort of the fuddy duddy table, and the guests are kind of bored. But meh, eventually we decided to run up to our room to grab essentials because, AHHHH!, they're letting people camp out for the breakfast! As we're walking out of the party, we notice that a small line has already begun to form, so we decided to plant down, and try to truck on through the night. I of course, didn't make it no time because I was the only one who didn't get a nap or wasn't a bizzaro ball of energy.
So luckily they let anyone in line reserve a spot for one person, so I was able to go back up to my room and catch some sleep....about 2 1/2 hours. Woohoo for me!And now, it is Sunday. Breakfast time.
As I'm walking back down to where my people are in line, I notice that the once small line is now HUGE and it's stretched all throughout the hotel. But again, lucky us decided to get in line early, so we were good to go. We got a great table right by the stage, so that for the first time all weekend I could get some semi-decent pics of none other than Jared and Jensen. I guess I should probably share a few huh....

Jared with ice packs shoved in all his pockets....I still wanna know why that lady had all those....seriously, there were like 10 and he had them all just about.

*sigh* Don't you just wanna die? I mean really, I'm not trying to fangirl here, but this pic kills me. Could he be any cuter?

And this one cracks me up! He's like, listen lady, you can stop taking pictures of me already...geez. Hehe....
So after that I had a little break before their Q & A (since I didn't have a photo op with either of them....not to worry, I will next year
) so I just hung out in my room for a bit waiting for Jared to take the stage.....and then he did.

I knew there's a reason I just came out of the Sam/Jared!girl closet....look at that smile.
I should also say that I didn't take the bottom pic. I had a hard time getting decent shots of him because seriously, the dude wouldn't hold still long enough for my crappy camera to take the pic. But he was awesome none the less. Lots of great stories, but one in particular I want to share, and I'd share more but this blog is already WAAAY too long. Anyhow, this poor little girl gets up to mic to ask him a question, and she can't, she goes totally mute. So she turns around to walk away and he says something to her (I can't really remember what) and she turns around and she's beat red, tears streaming down her face, so he runs off stage down to her and gives her a great big hug. Now that's the real reason I'm a Jared!girl.
Jared & Jensen's Q & A together.....

Is it me, or does Jensen look like he's a little bored listening to Jared?

This one doesn't belong to me either, just a great shot of both them together I thought. They were loads of fun doing their Q & A. Lots of joking around, fighting over a chair, hat stealing, the whole works. It was total awesomeness.

And now Jensen's Q & A.....

And because I'm that shallow....I leave you all with this......

Yeah I know, but it was right there, how could I not take it?

So, after that, they did autographs. It was a sort of amusing event actually. The guard at the curtain thought Merina & I were crazy I'm sure cause, well, we were acting crazy.
So first up was Jensen. Now, unfortunately Cliff, the bodyguard, was talking to Jensen the WHOLE time we were in there. Not cool man. He didn't even get to look at most of the people he was signing autographs for. But I have to say, when he finished mine, he did look at me, and flashed that grin, you know which one I'm talking about, and I nearly died inside it was that dreamy. But wait, there's more. So Jared gets my pic, and he acknowledges me right away, says hi, smiles the whole bit. I'm of course about ready to have a total fangirl moment and jump over the table at him, but luckily I was able to restrain myself. Still, there's more. So he finishes signing my pic, looks up to give it back to me (yeah, I'm giving you the full play by play here
) and I say "Thank You" and he must have known that I was pining away for him, cause it was at the point where he was handing it over when, brace yourself, he winked at me!
And I thought I was gonna die before....pffft. Not even.
So, we finished up there, and a few of us decided to grab some dinner and re-watch IKWYDLS before most of us leaving the next morning. Cut to many hours later (because the hotel restaurant was terribly slow) you'll find most of us TV.commers saying goodbye. I met some amazing people on this trip, which granted, Jared winking at me was beyond awesome, but meeting everyone from here was the best part of all. Saying goodbye to everyone, Shazz, Paley, Lolo, Heather, all the horny girls
and many more, was really sad for me. But it was especially hard saying goodbye to my twin Merina, who I miss terribly already (even though we're already making plans for next year
) and my roomie Tox the next morning.
But it's an experience I wouldn't change for the world. If you ever get the opportunity to go to a convention, I highly recommend it.
Oh, and I've got TONS more pics people. They'll probably find their way to the pics thread sooner or later, it's just that I knew this blog was gonna be forever long, so I wanted to keep it as short as I could.

6Oct 08
Well, I actually have kind of a lot I want to go over here. So beware, this might be a tad on the long side.
Oh, there are some spoilers in regards to last week's Supernatural & the Dexter season S3 premiere ahead, along with the Buffy and Angel comics, so if you haven't seen them yet, skip those parts, ok.

So, Supernatural. In the Beginning was another brilliant episode. So far season 4 is looking to be the best season yet. We got a lot of answers, and a few new questions. We found out that Mary and her family were hunters.
I have to say, this one really surprised me. I mean, I always had them pegged to be evil. We also learned that despite being one of the good guys, Mary is the one who started everything...which, duh, right? But it was more the way that things were put into motion that was surprising. She was the original deal maker, and it was that very deal that led to her family being cursed with the very thing she wanted to keep them away from. There were many fantastic scenes, but the one in particular that stood out was the scene between Dean and Mary, in which she was telling him that she didn't want the hunting life for her family. No words were necessary to see how Dean felt when he heard this, as Jensen Ackles really shined in this scene. Dean finally learned what happened to Sam in the nursery that night, and is now caught up with everyone else in the big picture. The end scene of course, was also fantastic as Castiel told Dean that Sam was on a dangerous path, and if he did not stop him then they would. But, the big question here is, what is Azazel's end game? I smell....something evil.
Oh, and Impala origins= awesome.

Dexter, Dexter, Dexter. Words can't express the love I have for this show, and for Michael C. Hall for being so freaking awesome.
Granted, this season premiere wasn't like S2's, where we were on the edge of our seat the whole time. But it was tense in a different way. Dexter, a father, how bizarre is that? I mean yes, he's sort of been a father figure to Astor and Cody already, but having a child of his own will certainly be a test to his character. As usual, I can't wait to see where this season takes us.So I'm going to mosey on over to music now. I really wanted to talk about this musician that I love, and his name is Andrew McMahon. He's front man to this really great band called Jack's Mannequin, and used to front this other band called Something Corporate. He is a truly brilliant piano player and song writer. Jack's Mannequin's latest album The Glass Passenger is nothing short of a masterpiece, which chronicles a difficult time in Andrew's life. Pretty much every song on the album shines all on it's own, but there is one that is so moving that you can actually feel what it is he went through. That song would be Caves. In a very haunting way, Andrew tells us what he experienced while battling cancer a few years ago. His lyrics are both heartbreaking and beautiful, as you can literally feel every word that he is singing. If you like alternative rock, and haven't heard of Jack's Mannequin, I strongly recommend that you check them out, as soon as possible.

Now, I shall move on to comics. Specifically the Buffy and Angel comics. I've never been a big fan of comics, but when 2 of my favorite shows EVER were converted into one, I decided that this is a hobby I was going to have to take up. I have to say, that I've mostly enjoyed them both. Although, I am less impressed with Buffy's if I must choose a favorite. I wasn't terribly crazy with the idea of Dawn becoming a giant and then a centaur. And Xander....give the guy a break already. Hasn't he been through enough, losing his eye, Anya dying, then you have to go and kill the next girl he has a thing for too? For crying out loud Whedon, let the man be! Then there's Willow, I just, I don't like the idea of her being Dark Willow, yet again. I mean yeah, she was pretty much awesome, but it's like, been there, done that. Hopefully they'll find a way around that. And Buffy....poor relationship challenged Buffy. She's no lesbian, but bless her little heart for trying.
I have to say though, the one arc that I've really enjoyed the most was Faith's. The idea that Giles has basically begun to train her as if he was her watcher is kind of sweet, really. She has always so desperately needed guidance, which with the exception of that brief period during S4 of Angel, Wesley was never really able to give her.
Now, as for Angel: After the Fall. I've really enjoyed them so far. Of course, the only part I don't like is Wes being a ghost and Wolfram & Hart's liaison. I do hope that at some point he can become corporeal again. And Angel, being human...didn't see that coming. Although, I didn't see Gunn being a vamp, or Fred actually being buried inside of Illyria. Oh wait, I did at least hope for that last part...as you all know I complete adore Fred. But enough there. I like that essentially everyone that's been important in the series no matter at what point has so far been involved. Kate, Groo, Gwen, Nina, and especially Connor. Oh oh oh, and Lorne. I can't believe I forgot about Lornitunes.
So I have to say that despite my lack of comic book love, I'm really looking forward to following Angel for as long as I can.
Ok folks, I think that's all I've got for now. I hope everyone's enjoyed my ramblings, and I'll catch ya all again next time.
Oh, one more thing. If you live in the US and are of age to vote, and are not registered to vote, I urge you to please please please do so. It doesn't matter who you vote for, just that you do. So if you're not registered, please take a minute and do so, as time is running out (if it hasn't already) in most states.

Ok, now I'm done. Have a good night all.

I know it's been a while, so I thought I'd attempt to write this blog during the very troubling time we've all been having here at TV.com. Don't worry, this isn't a blog about that though. I figure there's been enough blogging about that going around here that I'd just skip it.
Soooo, I guess I'll start with tv stuff. Possible spoilers ahead, so watch out folks.
First up....Fringe.

So, in my opinion, this is the best new show of the fall. Truely fantastic, great performances by the lead actors, all around intriguing story to follow. I get that some people think it's a little too Alias or even X-Files for that matter, but I got sucked right in. Also, John Noble's portrayal of Dr. Walter Bishop is pretty much awesome, no other way to describe it. The man has yet to fail in cracking me up. Not to mention the relationship with his son Peter (Joshua Jackson) is fascinating to watch. Oh, and speaking of Joshua Jackson...how freaking great is it to have him back on television? I mean, really, he's better than ever, and I'm feeling that Pacey love all over again.

Next up...Supernatural.

Ok, so obviously I think Lazarus Rising may be one of the best season premieres I've ever seen for any show, EVER. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Despite the fact that I was so insanely spoiled for this episode, it still didn't let me down, not even a little. There were a few things that I wasn't completely crazy about, one being the zombie hands during Dean's resurrection, the other being the new Ruby. Although, I'm giving her another chance since I pride myself in not being one of the crazy fangirls that hates all female characters. Other than those two very minor things, I completely loved this episode. There were some great moments between Sam, Dean, and Bobby. In particular the hug scenes were wonderful to watch (YAY for our first full on brother hug!). There's just too many to go over all of them. The one thing I did want to mention for sure is, this guy...

How awesome is Castiel? Seriously, love at first sight here. He's every thing I hoped he would be. Misha Collins plays him to perfection, and I can't wait to get more of him. Oh, and there's that little thing about him being an angel of the Lord, and God having plans for Dean....wonder what that's about.
Well, like so many out there, I've seen this coming for a while now, and I can't wait to see where Kripke takes things from here.Speaking of Supernatural...I think I'll skip right on to the me part of my blog here, and say how excited I am to be going to the Supernatural Chicago Con in November.
I can't wait to see J2, along with so many other great guests that are going to be there. But most of all, I can't wait to meet all my people from the SFU.
I think that pretty much covers everything I wanted to talk about for now. Oh, I thought I'd put up some pics of my baby Fredikins since I mentioned her in my last blog and all.

She's totally crazy, but I love her to pieces.

Ok, that's all I've got for now, have a good night everyone!

I'm a terrible blogger! I now remember why I haven't done countdowns like this in the past...I'm simply too lazy to get around to finishing them.
Not only that, but I've been really bad lately at reading and commenting on everyone else's blogs...so please don't hate me too much, I'm gonna try to get around to catching up on that soon. Anyhow, here it is, forever later, the final part of my list. As usual, it's my list, not yours, and watch out for spoilers.10. Daniel "Oz" Osborne- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I completely adore Oz in every way possible. There's nothing that's not awesome about him. He was almost always able to keep his cool no matter what kind of pressure, and he's one half of my favorite couples ever, so that alone scores him major points for me. His exit on the show is one of those things that breaks my heart every single time I watch his last episode. Plus, I love Seth Green, so that's enough of a reason for me to have Oz in my top 10.
9. Willow Rosenberg- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Oh, how our little Will grew. She went from being the sort of nerdy side kick to probably the most powerful character in the entire 'verse all together. She is by far the character who grew the most on Buffy, not just with her magic, but as a person in general. Plus she's so stinkin' cute, and it's near impossible not to cry when she makes her sad face.
8. Mason- Dead Like Me
There simply aren't enough words for me to express how much I love Mason. He's so funny, and he fits in so well with his group of misfit reapers. He's just Mason, sick, twisted, hilarious Mason. How can you not love the man?
7. Pacey Witter- Dawson's Creek
Pacey J. Witter was that first character that really turned me into a fangirl, way before I even knew what a fangirl was.
It's scary, I know, but the whole underdog thing, plus his natural charm really worked for him, and he had me at day one. Granted I was like, 16 when DC first aired, but he was, and still is my favorite character on that show. Plus, you have to admit that the fact that he got the girl, not once, but twice, while being a side kick none the less, speaks volumes about him. 6. Anya Jenkins- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Anya is, in my opinion, probably the funniest (and cutest
) of all the scoobies. She was a great addition to the show in S4, which I have to admit I wasn't too sure about during S3, but it didn't take long for me to change my mind about her. She was a great fit for Xander, and is very much missed, by pretty much everyone.
5. Logan Echolls- Veronica Mars
Despite the fact that he started out as the obligatory psychotic jack @ss in the series premiere, I still loved him from minute one. Jason Dohring played him so perfectly, and in a way that made you feel for Logan long before you even knew how broken he really was. 4. Dean Winchester- Supernatural
Ok, so I really struggled with where to put Dean, as I don't think that he can really exist without Sam...so I had a hard time deciding who would come first, and how far apart they would be, and all that. I know that must seem sort of silly, but it really was a hard decision for me to make. Ultimately, I decided to put Dean in my top 5 because, well, I think he's a tad more on the damaged side. Everything that both the boys have been through, plus the knowledge that his father sacrificed himself in order for him to live, on top of the possibly that he may have to kill his brother one day, and then going to hell on top of all that...makes for some excellent broody man angst...which, lets be honest here, I'm a total sucker for.
3. Faith Lehane- Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel
I have this feeling that I'm gonna catch some slack for having her so high on my list, but I feel for her too much not to have her on it. Even when she was full on evil, there was something about her that sucked me right in. I don't think, at least not on Buffy, that her story was explained well enough for some people to be able to relate to her on a level besides psycho slayer who tried to kill everyone. I guess that's why I preferred her when she was on Angel a tad more. I thought there, at least, Angel saw her for what she was, which was a confused, sick girl who needed serious help. He could reach her on a level that Buffy never could, which is why she was able to get to a breaking point with him that she couldn't do while in Sunnydale. She has always been, and is still to this day, my favorite slayer....I'm gonna start ducking the rocks being thrown my way right about now....
2. Winifred "Fred" Burkle- Angel
So, I'm about to start my Amy gushing, yet again...so be prepared.
I simply adore Amy, and I pretty much loved Fred from the first moment I saw her. I loved her so much in fact, that I named my 3 year old Basset Hound after her. She was a perfect addition to the show in S3. Scary smart, incredibly sweet, and funny in her own right. Even to this day, it's somewhat difficult for me to watch A Hole In the World, as it is likely one of the most painful episodes of television that I have ever watched in the history of me watching television. It's utterly heart breaking to watch her die in Wesley's arms the way she did. Ugh, even talking about it makes me all depressed.
While I do love Illyria, losing Fred in order to get her was way on the harsh side. But that's what Joss Whedon is best at I guess, making us love someone so that when he kills them it's like we lost an arm or something, it hurts so bad. Sometimes, I swear, I really hate that guy.
1. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce- Angel / Buffy the Vampire Slayer
So, I'm sure it's no surprise to some that Wes is pretty much my favorite character ever. In my opinion, of all the characters to pass through the entire 'verse, Wesley is by far the one who grew the most. He started out as bumbling young watcher, and ended up a confident, yet somewhat tortured and dark member of Angel's crew. His transformation through out Angel's 5 seasons is one of things I love most about watching it. There is never a moment where I don't feel for him in every way possible. I love rogue demon hunter Wesley, kidnapping Connor Wesley, sleeping with Lyla Wesley, the Wesley who loved & lost Fred before they could ever really be, and the Wesley whom despite all that, tried to help Illyria find her place in the world. But you see, since I loved him that much, Joss Whedon had to kill him off. Again I say, I really hate him sometimes...
Well, that pretty much does it. It's likely I won't do another count down like this for a while, so I hope everyone enjoyed.
My blogs will probably be a little on the lame side from here on out, so I'll go ahead and apologize for that now. Good night all!- Posted Aug 18, 2008 9:28 pm PT

So, I didn't plan on waiting this long to do part 3 of my list, but I've had a very stressful and mostly bad last couple of weeks, and I just simply didn't have the time to get on here till now.
Anyhow, on with my list. As usual, please remember that this is my list, and beware of spoilers. Oh, and it may also seem that from this point on, all the characters I have chosen are pretty much from the same few shows, and well, they pretty much are.
19. Lorne- Angel
I loved Lorne pretty much from the first time I saw him. I mean, a green horned empath demon who owns a karaoke bar, how could you not? 18. Andrew Wells- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Andrew was a wonderful addition to Buffy in S7 (well, S6 too of course
), which IMO was a very drama heavy season and he provided some much needed comedy in almost every scene he was in. Tom Lenk was a comedic evil genius with his performance as Andrew on Buffy, not to mention his brief appearances in S5 of Angel as well. 17. Captain Malcolm Reynolds- Firefly
Mal was a natural born leader, of sorts, and by far my favorite brown coat. He was a rebel with a cause, and a heart too as he proved by taking in River & Simon despite his better judgement. Also, his feelings for Inara, whether admitted or not, were endearing none the less. Plus, I adore Nathan Fillion, so I had to have my favorite character that he plays in my top 20 somewhere.16. Veronica Mars- Veronica Mars
Veronica Mars as a character was complicated to say the least. As the protagonist of the show, she was lovable, witty, and at times difficult to like. But that's what she was about. She wasn't perfect, and given everything she had been through in her life it would be difficult not to be somewhat flawed.15. Spike- Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel
It's no secret that I did not care for the Buffy/Spike relationship at all. In fact, I much prefer Spike on Angel as I thought he had way better chemistry with Angel than he ever did with Buffy. That's not to say I didn't like him on Buffy, because I did, I just started losing interest in him particularly after he got a soul. Of course him having a soul is what made the dynamic between him & Angel so interesting, so I guess I'm a little torn there. But mostly the Spike that I love, is way back in S2 Spike, in which he's nothing but evil. 14. Bright Abbott- Everwood
Now I have to admit that I wasn't a big fan of Bright's in the very beginning. But over time, he became the character that grew the most on Everwood, IMO. Mostly due to the loss of his best friend, his friendship with Ephram, and his eventual relationship with Hannah, through which he actually became a pretty decent guy, excluding of course his slip up with the yarn chick.13. Xander Harris- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Xander Harris was one of the few characters without any special powers or a destiny to follow on Buffy, which is why I think he is so likable to most people. With being sort of the average guy on a show about demons and mythical powers, it made him easy to relate to. He was also sort of the heart of the scoobies, as stated by Buffy herself, but more importantly he provided much needed sarcasm to the gang.
12. Sam Winchester- Supernatural
I know some people think that Sam is a little on the dull side, but I believe that there's a lot more to Sam than meets the eye...which I suppose that much should be obvious after last season's finale. I've always felt a little sympathetic towards him because he just seems so broken, which is also obvious by all that pouting he does.
After being raised the way that him & Dean were, all he wanted was a normal life, which is something that he knows he'll never have. There's also that whole he might be the anti-christ thing looming over him, so that's gotta be a bit of a bummer too, so I guess you can't blame a guy for looking so sad all the time. 11. Dexter Morgan- Dexter
So as I'm sure you can guess, I'm a bit of a Michael C. Hall fan, seeing as how the two characters that he's most famous for playing are both on my list. With that aside, Dexter Morgan is a seriously disturbingly fun character to love. There are so many levels to him that I really couldn't go into them too much without being up all night long doing so. To put it shortly, I think people have always been interested in serial killers in a way, and the fact that Dexter is a good serial killer (as good as one could possibly be anyways) is what makes him so appealing. Ok, so that was my top 20. I'm sure some of you noticed that I kind of messed up the first part of my list (40-30) by counting down 11 characters instead of 10. I obviously wasn't paying any attention when I did that, so now my countdown is a little wacky.
So, in order to make my top 10 an actual top 10 and not a top 9, I only did 18-11 on this part. Alright, well goodnight all!- Posted Jul 27, 2008 8:00 pm PT

So, here's part 2 of my list. The usual disclaimers apply... It's my list, not yours
, and watch out for spoilers. Alright... so here it is.....29. Ephram Brown- Everwood
Ephram had a difficult life, losing his mother and the turbulent relationship he had with his father, it just always made me feel for him. He was at times a little whiny, and his relationship with Amy became tiresome, but ultimately he always had my sympathies. 28. The Impala- Supernatural
Ok, so I know it may seem a tad ridiculous to put a car on my list, but seeing as how the Impala is almost like a third character to the show, I figured I could get away with it.
Besides, I was terribly distraught (like so many were) when they wrecked it at the end of season 1 that it only feels natural to have it somewhere on my list. 27. Alan Francis Doyle- Angel
I don't think that this one really needs to be explained. Doyle was a great side kick to Angel and I was sad to see him go. 26. Jen Lindley- Dawson's Creek
I used to despise Jen when the episodes were originally airing. I was even a little happy that she died in the series finale. But over the years I guess she started to rub off on me, and now she's one of my favorite characters on the show. Plus she's the other half of one of my favorite non-couples ever. So there ya go.
25. Dr. Christian Troy- Nip/Tuck
I know deep down that he's wrong, in every single way possible. But on the rare occasion that he actually has a heart, it totally makes me love him. 24. Rickie Vasquez- My So-Called Life
Rickie was the always loyal, sometimes tormented best friend of Angela & Rayanne. He was also ground breaking as the first gay teen in prime time. It's shame however that the show never got the opportunity to really explore Rickie more than they did, as he was by far one of the most interesting characters on the show. 23. Illyria- Angel
She may have been brought to us through gut wrenching pain and misery, but Amy Acker's portrayal of Illyria was nothing short of spectacular. Watching her try to fit into a world she wasn't meant to live in, and her relationship with Wesley, all made the loss of Fred seem a little less painful.22. Andy Botwin- Weeds
Oh how I love uncle Andy! At times he is totally disgusting, but he never fails to crack me up. 21. Dr. Andy Brown- Everwood
Everwood was one of those shows that was truly great, and there's not a character on it that you couldn't relate to in some way, but I always sort of felt like Andy Brown was the most relateable. He had to make a lot of difficult decisions for his family, and a few of them turned out rather badly, but he never stopped trying to make his mistakes right, and I think a lot of people can probably relate to that. 20. River Tam- Firefly
She was mysterious, child-like, a little crazy.... every thing that made you know deep down that she could do some serious damage. So I'm not sure how I could not have her on my list. Alright, so that was part 2 of my list. I hope everyone's enjoyed it so far!

I've always wanted to do this, but just never got around to it. So I thought, what's a better time than now. I'll be doing this in 4 parts, as I just couldn't possibly narrow the list down any further than 40. Now, a few friendly disclaimers before I get started..... Please feel free to comment about whatever you like, but remember that this is my list, not yours.
I may give explanations as to why a certain character is on my list and so on, but then again, I might not. Also, there may or may not be some spoilers scattered about, so please be cautious while reading. Ok, well here it goes!40.Chandler Bing- Friends
How do you not love Chandler Bing, I ask? I suppose it's possible, but not for me. I always related to him the most, therefore making him my favorite friend. 39.Brian Darling- Dirty Sexy Money
38.Wallace Fennel- Veronica Mars
Wallace was more than just the average side kick. From day one, he had Veronica's back, and it stayed that way throughout the series. Although he was a little absent from the final season at times, he came back in the end to help out Veronica when she needed him.37. Jordan Catalano- My So-Called Life
Oh, Jordan Catalano. What else is there to say really? Who didn't know some one like him in high school? That way too attractive guy who seemed to not care about anything and all the girls swooned for. He was that original lost-bad boy-type that made the average girl not really care how bad he was because he was just that dreamy. 36. Bill Haverchuck- Freaks and Geeks
Bill is simply one of the funniest characters on Freaks and Geeks, and it's too bad we only got one season of him.
35. Charles Gunn- Angel
34. Jack McPhee- Dawson's Creek
At first I wasn't a fan of Jack's. But over the years, he's turned in to an icon of sorts. Being one of the first gay (or maybe the first?) characters on WB, he helped open the doors for more open story lines concerning gay characters on not only the WB, but other channels as well. Plus he is half of one of my favorite non-couples ever, so there ya go.
33. David Fisher- Six Feet Under
This is a character and show that I miss a lot, still. Michael C. Hall was truely fantastic as David Fisher. He was neurotic, lovable, relateable, and at times painful to watch. But over the years he grew quite a bit, and is still to this day my favorite character from SFU.32. Cindy "Mac" Mackenzie- Veronica Mars

31. Barney Stinson- How I Met Your Mother
I just love NPH, and he plays Barney so wonderfully, that I had to put him on my list.30. Drusilla- Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel
She was dark, crazy, genius, and so many other things that made her character so enjoyable. She's one of the few characters in the 'verse that never strayed from what she was, which is evil. She never had a soul, and certainly never wanted to be on any side that wasn't just as evil as she was which is something that I can appreciate. Alright, so that's part 1 of my list. Hopefully I'll be able to get back soon to do part 2.

8Mar 08So, I'm really angry right now. I have spent a good chunk of time working on this blog I was writing on here all about the new shows I've been watching and so on. I'm not quite sure what happened, but it all vanished. Poof. Gone. And I'm way too unhappy to do it all over again right now. So there, I just wanted to share my pain. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.

4Nov 07Can someone please tell me where I have been recently that would make me miss this most exciting news??? I can't believe Joss Whedon is doing another show, on Fox no less, with Eliza Dushku. I'm just beside myself right now. I'm absent a few days here and I miss everything. Ugh!

Well, with all that out of the way I can't possibly express how excited I am at this very moment. I actually thought for a minute there while reading the article that i was going to cry.... and it's possible I still might.

25Sep 07So, to kind of quote many people on here lately.... it seems like it's been a while since I've been on here.
It actually has though, but I'm trying to be better
. So, some things I have been up to are:
*A friend of mine is getting married soon. Not that I'm not extremely happy for her- I just can't wait for it to be over. I really can't stand weddings. I find them boring and way too sappy. I know what you all must be thinking, how can I possibly be a girl right???
*I've been trying to watch Seasons 1-4 of Nip/Tuck to get refreshed for the new season starting Oct. 30th. I really dislike when seasons are stretched so far apart like FX tends to do with their shows. But, I'm glad that Nip/Tuck's getting a pretty full season this year (22 episodes I think) so that makes me a little happier. So far I'm getting ready to start watching S3, but I was side tracked when I started watching this other show......
*.... which happens to be the Ghost Whisperer. I decided to start watching it b/c I'm going to be watching Moonlight and I figured I might as well watch Ghost Whisperer too since it's on before Moonlight. I'm only midway through S1 so far but I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. Only b/c I tend to like at least a little bit of humor in my supernatural-y shows that I watch, and there is very little in this one, at least IMO anyways. But I'm going to keep on watching it in hopes that I'll start to like it more.
*My hours have changed some what at work which is kind of why I'm not around too much anymore. I kind of work a long day shift now and I'm so tired at night by the time I get home. Ahhh, why did I ever want to become an adult with all these responsibilities!
*And last but not least, I've been fighting with my cable company.... which most of you can imagine is not a good thing for someone like me who MUST have my tv shows. The raised the price of Showtime on me, almost more than doubled, plus they raised the price of my internet service too....so I had to cancel Showtime. This could not have come at a worse time for me b/c 1) I'm smack dab in the middle of S3 of Weeds, and 2) S2 of Dexter will be starting this Sunday. The amount of which I hate my cable company is unmeasureable. What's a girl to do???? They are pretty much the only option so I may just have to suck it up and pay it until Dexter is over.... 'cause I CAN NOT miss S2 of Dexter.
So that's basically what's been going on.
Grrrr....I shouldn't have wrote that last part 'cause now I'm all angry again.
Dang cable company...- Posted Sep 25, 2007 8:57 pm PT

So I know I've been a little absent here recently, I've just been super busy with work and family stuff. But, I had to take a minute to come on here and tell everyone about the Buffy Sing-A-Long.

I was so excited when I found out it was coming to Kansas City because nothing like this ever comes to my area. So when Saturday came, I could hardly contain myself I was so happy. So we get to the theater that it was supposed to be at, and the girl there says "Oh, they moved that to another theater". I was very upset. But according to her, it wasn't very far away and she gave me directions. So I get to the first street she tells me to turn on to, and it was blocked due to construction and my only option was to turn the opposite direction that I needed to go. So this goes on for about an hour because let me tell you, dowtown Kansas City is nothing but streets closed off because of construction and one way streets going the direction that you don't need to go in. It was horrible. I was lost in not the best of areas, and then all of a sudden these stray cats starting coming out of nowhere.... it was very creepy. So by the time I actually got some where that I knew where I was, it was far too late to even try and make it. So not only was I insanely bummed out, but I wasted about$24.00. Boooo. So, the point of me telling you all about the Sing-A-Long, is that I can't tell you all about it because I didn't get to go.

Soooo, I just watched S1 of Dead Like Me over the weekend. I have to say that I'm a little bit mad at myself for not watching it sooner. This show rocks, and I feel like a total idiot for not catching on sooner. I'm coming to learn that Showtime produces some pretty great shows. Besides Dead Like Me, I've also watched Weeds(which I love) and I am completely obsessed with Dexter (I've watched the first season, and I'm patiently waiting for S2 by reading the books). I highly recommend all three.

But back to Dead Like Me.... I'm in love with this show. I just started on S2 last night, and already I'm sad because this will be the last season. And maybe this is a little predictable, but I have to say that I absolutely looove Mason. Maybe it's because he's British, or maybe it's because he's a little crazy, but either way I adore him.

So from now on, I won't be stupid and not watch shows anymore that everyone is telling me to watch. Eh, I don't think that made any sense.

I had to.....
Six ships you like:
1. Buffy & Angel (BtVS)2. Veronica & Logan (Veronica Mars)
3. Fred & Wesley (Angel)
4. Oz & Willow (BtVS)
5. Bright & Hannah (Everwood)
6. Joey & Pacey (Dawson's Creek)
Three ships you used to like, but don't anymore:
7.Fred & Gunn (Angel)8.Willow & Xander (BtVS)
9.Amy & Ephram (Everwood)
Three ships in your various fandoms that you can't stand:
10.Duncan & Veronica (Veronica Mars)11.Angel & Cordy (Angel)
12.Buffy & Riley (BtVS)
Two ships you are curious about but haven't actually started shipping:
13.Can't think of any14. ??
Why do you dislike #11 so much?
I'm not sure, I guess it just always seemed a little wrong and un-natural to me. Plus it makes me feel all icky.

Who is someone you know that ships #13?I really don't know.
What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3 (even if the show isn't on the air anymore)?
Hmm.... well lets see, for starters, maybe they both wouldn't have died. Or at the very least, gotten a little more time together before Fred died. Now I'm sad....

Which is your favorite episode for #1? Try to pick just one, if you can.
I can't pick just one...
First would have to be Surprise (BtVS)- obvious reasons. They are finally really giving into to their feelings towards one another. Second choice would be I Will Remember You (Angel). It was sort of the actual end, or as close to one as possible, of that relationship. This is the point where they (or really Angel) realized that their relationship could never really be without putting one or both of them in danger.
How long have you been following couple #6?Since the episode in S1 when Pacey first attempted to kiss Joey. I always had hoped after that they would end up together at some point.
What's the story with #8? What made you stop liking them/caring?
Ehh, when they finally got together, it wasn't right. I loooved Willow & Oz, and Xander & Cordy, so I was torn when it finally happened, but relieved when it was over.
Which ship do you prefer - #2 or #4?Veronica & Logan
You have the power to make one ship non existent. Choose from #10 or #12.
Buffy & Riley.
What interests you about #14?
Can't answer.
When did you stop liking #7?
I haven't necessarily stopped liking them, but more realized that Fred really should be with Wesley.
Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the show?
Not at all. In fact, I would still be watching that show even though they were forced back together, had it not been cancelled.

What's a song that reminds you of #5?
There really isn't one
Which of these ships do you love the most?
Grrrr..... if I have to choose, probably Wes & Fred.
Which do you dislike the most?
Angel & Cordy
If you could have any of these two pairings double date, who would it be?
I don't know.... they would all be kind of odd.
Have #2 kissed yet?
Yes.... a bunch.
Did #4 have a happy ending?
Depends on how you look at it..... they had a proper ending, but not necessarily a happy one.
