Top 5 Guilty Pleasures Of 09
When you just can't be bothered to play games for the complex story or emmersive morales and messages you turn to games where all you want to do is chop an opponent's head off with gore spraying everywhere like a hose pipe turned to max or a game that just isn't fully justified on its merits to everyone but you secretly love.
5.50 Cent:Blood on the sand

Well it certainly isn't a great game but is not a bad game but a guilty pleasure it is. I'm not a 50 Cent fan and the music while is rather sub-par, the wacky plot, the cheesy dialogue and the extreme nature of multipliers at tauting at people just makes you play some more also the hear the ridiculous line of "b***where's my skull".
4.WET

The fact its base on the grindhouse catorgory instantly means its called a guilty pleasure the simple, vulgar dialogue, the simplistic visuals and the music all contribute to the enjoyment of sheer guilt that your playing a game that is rather unpolished, feels alittle rushed with issues and a plot that is not very detailed but in some ways that adds to the charm.
3.X-Men Origins:Wolverine Uncaged Edition

A good game that is helped by the craziness of brutal kills and disemberments with a particularly interesting feature that Wolverine's flesh can be damaged, ripped and torn apart when your caught in a explosion you can see the worst of it, you can the the rips its all rather graphic you don't see no intestines or liver etc but its still graphic and Don't forget Hugh Jackman's lines when performing this toture.
2.Red Faction: Guerilla

It doesn't have alot of gore, not much in terms of profanity, there is no prostitution to be found or anything that resembles a drug filled gangland but what it does have is explosions, destructable enviroments and physics enough said.
1.Prototype
(This is a much better cover than the original's)I was never really fond of Prototype and was quite a dissapointment considering however i was still uplifted by the fact of the chaotic brutality that you could perform in this game seriously ripping a granny in half is outstanding and the multiple powers at your fingertips ment a variety of ways to disember the crowds if not just go guns blazing. So just in terms of gore its a winner for guilty pleasures.

My Top 5 Games Of 09..
5.Killzone 2

Such an enjoyable game while it doesn't achieve a new benchmark in terms of gameplay it does with its visuals or does so in specific areas not only that it has a remarkable online system that can keep you hooked and energetic gunplay for campaign with intense set-pieces too bad the story was mostly forgettable
4.Infamous

I never really anticipated this game as my first impressions were from looking was "cool.... what else is there" but then i played the demo and it was brilliant very addictive a number of additions help contribute to this such as platforming. The animations could of been better however it was still impressive and the freedom of it helped considerably. The gameplay was a combination of this platforming and combat then the full game came and expanded on those options, it had such great pace and made me want to play to the end.
3.Assassin Creed 2

What can i say its a recently released title and i have not seen one person that has yet to criticise it saying its rubbish. What amazed me was the fact they kept the core foundations of the first while changing and improving what didn't work in the first it resulted in a perfectly pacing game where progression really does have an impact over time in fact i'm still playing it now.
2.Brutal Legend

I think this was a more unpredictable choices as while it was a great game and received greatly it still had a few glaring flaws however my enjoyment overcome that by far. Jack Black voices Eddie Riggs a roadie who got sent to a metal universe and trouble is brewing. This game basically is a faithful and amusing tribute to heavy rock/metal and includes over 100 original songs and all fit perfectly in this 3rd person open world action game with abit of RTS thrown in for less repetition. I never was much into metal only liking a few songs but now i can say i'm totally open minded to all music genres now except rave that sucks b***s.
1.Uncharted 2:Among Thieves
Its simple really, do i need to explain this magnificent masterpiece? Provides the best visuals to date on any console (other than PC but come one) Its the sheer production values and story that overwhelm you at first that its a blockbuster. It basically starts with a set-piece to heighten your moods to show that you will be engrossed by this epic adventure And its not all show the gameplay while conventional is great due to such polish and animation and balance/level design. If you want a interactive film this year or next get this.
Honourable mentions goes to: Batman Arkham Asylum basically i thought about this after i made this list thinking about only realising oh wait Batman but even so he deserves the sixth spot.
Ghostbusters:Certainly not the best of the year but a genuinely nice treat to play
Thanks to all that read this. My next blog shall possibly be top 5 Goriest games or Guilty Pleasures... yeah Guilty Pleasures and if i can be asked a blog of Disgraceful shames that i played this year.

Heavy rain!!! looking epic.
Now if you own a PS3 or looking into the video game exclusives that surround the system you may of heard of a game called Heavy rain the reason i'm interested in this game is purely because its a somewhat original take on the type of emotions yu can feel or so they say which makes me personally excited.
(Looks unique, hey?)There are a numorous reasons why i'm excited by this game one is the choices that affect your gameplay, to be honest there has been a few number of games that focus of this most recently Alpha protocol a game coming out soon however this game has a life or death situation tied to the whole game this might potentially create a emotional gaming experience hopefully. The fact that there focusing on this feature will makes this engaging so i will keep playing this and hoping to do die possibly making a more tension built game in some cases in my opinion hopefully.
The other but least important is the visuals it looks amazing, the facial features and animations are superb that could be due to the motion technology for actors and actress to resemble and animate the game's character (i can't believe what its called) this could help with the emersion of the game and the plot with its amations and visuals to resemble a more realistic feel. Yes some textures are little standard but the characters and other effects are amazing, if your a graphics whore then you will have a orgaaa... don't know if i can say it on here actually.
(Looks at all that rain)The plot also seems to be very realistic from what they have shown there is no surreal feel and there will be no sci fi/ abnormal twist so they say yes there is action and so on but thats expected in a plot if it was all sun and daisys it will not be great unless its flower, that game. From what i seen there are characters all with there own personalities that will fit into the game's plot but all seem to have one thing in common, to find the origami killer. The core plot seems standard plot seems standard but the characters and there backstory and there plots will highly make up for that.
Well i could keep going but i feel you potentially get bored to anyone who actually reads this anyway as you can see i'm fairly hyped for this game and i hope it does well compared to all the gloomy generic FPS titles out there, i'm not dissing well i kinda am but thats far from the point i haven't been hyped for a game in a while i say since metal gear solid 4 as i usually control my excitement just in case. Well yeah as you can see i'm hyped and want it but are you? Thanks for reading
P.S Batman arkum asylum is epic.
