Wednesday, May 16th I turn 21. That's fine, the probelem is that nothing has changed.
- If I lived in America, this would be the age that I would celebrate the fact that I can drink, legally, but I am from the UK and we have had that right since we were 18 and since I was raised Catholic, I have had that right since about 12!
- Let's see, I still play ridiculous amounts of video games (yay nintendo wii!)
- I still watch copius amounts of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
- I'm 6 ft tall - (I was 5ft9" when I was 11 - yeah! I know)
Most of the above applied 10 years ago. I feel I need a change. This is why this year:
- I am learning how to drive.
- I am shelving my nintendo DS (at least for a while)
- I am taking in more culture i.e. going to the theatre. BTW, I saw that play Equus where Daniel Radcliffe got naked - it was a spontaneous decision....
- I am choosing to stop thinking spontaneously!
Any more suggestions? It'll be nice to feel like an adult, even for a while.
See you all in the boards -

Ok, on 10th March, it would have been 10 years since Buffy aired. This of course the USA airdate and I'm British. Why celebrate the American air date you ask? Well this is because it quite handily falls on a Saturday.
I love the show. All of it (well pretty much). I wasn't always cool with the choices and I never really knew where they were going with some things but I respected the fact that they always tried to make it different. (IMO)
So, I am not at work, I have put my university work aside - yep, grades be damned and I have told my volunteering job that I am out. Instead of being... well, productive, I will sit and watch a marathon and I'd like help. There are so many episodes and I cannot decide cos I am lame. So, pick an episode, 1 episode each and the first 10 "chosen" (sorry, couldn't miss that pun), I will watch. Make it different. I don't just want OMWF or Hush. I want it as varied as The Pack (S1) to Storyteller (S7)!
Oh, yeah... bah - Veronica Mars is on hiatus! :-(

The titke of this blog entry is only funny if you are from the UK like me and we have "Where's Wally?" books. In America, it is called "Where's Waldo?" Then again, British or American... it ain't that funny.
The point is, I miss Wallace on the show. It actually really bothers me how little he is in it and I do not know who to blame... the writers with the LoVe bender or the CW with the lame timeslot. I mean I'm glad my sister LEGALLY downloads the episodes for me to watch but it sucks that there is no Wallace, little Lamb and Weevil seems reduced to an occasionally helpful sidekick. I love the show but I'd easily trade in 5 eps of Parker and Piz for a moment of Wallace and Mac and Keith.
Just in my opinion.

ok, since it is widely believed that the wii will be released oct/ nov time, putting all next gen consoles out there I thought I should start convincing you guys why the wii is the best choice.
Now:
Price
The price will likely be £199 or like $250 dollars. Why pay more than twice that to get a playstation. If anything, buy an xbox360 and a wii. also, game price will also be driven up if we let ps3 control the market.
Games
Games from nintendo have been seen to appeal to younger gamers and that was true, but it is all changing. the new direct controller will make it easier for everyone to play and the parental control system will make it safe so that kids cannot play older peoples' games.
Innovation
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=140270
I think that the link explains everything. If you don't wanna click the link, here's the jist of it. Sony stole nintendo's ideas... again. Why reward that?
Graphics
Ok, ok, the graphics do not rock but the innovative gameplay makes up for that.
Backing
Even Sony says buy nintendo wii. admittedly they say buy sony first lol. Microsoft say buy the wii. Can you guess what the common denominator is?
Now, I didn't wanna bog you guys down with jargon but I just wanted to express the way I feel. It's the same way I feel about tv, people and everything in my life. I like things that do not conform, that try to be different rather than being flashy... and clouding your with pretty.
I hope you consider what I am saying.

Yes, the CW picked up VM! This is especially good since it is on right after the Gilmore Girls. This would be a perfect Tuesday night if, well I lived in America, but I am British. Now, to help Veronica Mars go on and let my British eyes see the end of season 3 I plead to you GG fans, watch VM. It has a lot of the same elements; great parent child relationship, wacky humour and thought out plot lines. The differences lie in the "colourful" language that VM may sometimes use. Look, VM is a good show. I'm especially talking to you young GG fans. This is like GG, if more mature... with slightly more violence lol. Give this show a chance. This is the best I can do from this side of the pond.

9May 06Ok, poor pun cos Wii is pronounced "we" but now that I got you all here, I just want to say that I am waiting for this console. This will be their make or break but I am still hearing bad news in respect to the new console. A lot of people are complaining about the new controller, but did we not say the same thing about the n64 controller, so wait and see guys. Mostly, I fear that lack of "HIGH PROFILE GAMES" and games available simultaneously for PS3, XBOX360 and even the gamecube may make people think that the Nintendo Wii is not right for them. So let me make an economic case for the Nintendo ok, well we all know Xbox games are like £49 and the ps3 console will be like £350 on release. Well if there is no chearper price contender ie. Nintendo, what will stop them from charging more. If Xbox came out with a £60 game, what would you say, I'll tell you what you'd say... "well I may have to wait longer but it will be cheaper on the Nintendo!" that's what. So ignore the dodgy name, and lack of the GTA titles and the curious looking remote control type hand controller. Try the Wii. No reply necessary.

26Apr 06God, it's different. I've been away for 2 weeks and I come back and I've gone up like 2 levels, and the website is all new. I actually managed to destroy my adaptor for my laptop.... if I'm counting that's one broken screen, one deleted set of drivers, 3 USB ports ripped out, and 3 keys falling out. That's in a year and a half people. Thank God my mother made me insure this thing. So in my absence I have had my interview with the Greater London Authority. If I get this job... all the Brits on this site... Yes, I will be your master lol. So here's hoping! Also in this time and of greater importance, I bought Animal Crossing for my Nintendo DS so as soon as my town rocks, I will open my gates and post my details up here so you can all come visit me. I'm done now... I have to go and insure my mobile phone....

Anyway, I'm gonna keep on between comunities and ... that's all I wanted to say... seems kinda pointless to say all this right now lol.... but, hey whatever.

2Mar 06I'm just randomly blogging to say I'm going to Amsterdam for 4 days in the summer with 4 other mates. Now this is an important holiday cos my bloody university is forcing me to grow up a bit. i was gonna wait till i turned 21 but apparently 19 is the new 21... didnt you hear? so i have to go on a years placement in a proper business. that means, blazers, proper shoes and brunch. therefore, im gonna make the most of this holiday before i start worrying that my report accurately describes the return on capital employed within the business im working in. :-(

3Feb 06I've been searching this site and I have been wondering why people are complaning about TV.com. i like it, i mean somepeople are up tight but that's life. still, the general consensus when leaving this site is to go to TVRage.com. i visited it to see what the fuss was about and i don't understand. why is it so bad here? i like it, it's cosy.

16Jan 06due to a previously unscheduled change of my ISP, my ability to come on to the tv.com website has been hindered. so i am issuing a warning to all brits, bt and aol broadband suck! i had to change my ISP cos i wanted to hook up my nintendo ds to the international wireless network and with ntl, it just wasn't happening, so i changed ISP's. not to bore you guys with the whole story that ended costing me over £100, but i just wanted to say im glad to be back, hear to read you guys' random bloag and argue with your very misguided tv show interpretations in the forums lol. anyway, its good to be back.
