A couple of months ago BBC2 showed a special night of the Proms dedicated to MGM musicals.I missed it the first time around, so recorded it when BBC4 repeated it about 2 weeks ago.
Today I finally got around to watching it and I nearly fell off my seat when Seth MacFarlane walked on stage! I had no idea he could sing.To me he's always been the man who created, and does most of the voices on, Family Guy! (never seen/heard him in anything else) But there he was singing so beautifully that I sat with my mouth open.
I loved how he played the comedy in the songs he sang from High Society, this one with Curtis Stigers: "Well, did you evah?" and this one with Kim Cresswell: "Who Wants To Be A Millionnaire?" He even broke out his Stewie voice in the finale of "That's Entertainment!" Bwahaha, he was brilliant. Am I the only one who didn't know he sang?

I am ecstatic.Just got word that Sanctuary season 2 will start on ITV4 on October 12th at 10pm.
I have been waiting so long to find out when they would show it.I emailed then a couple of months ago and they said it wasn't currently on their autumn schedule....NOW IT IS!! You cannot believe how excited I am right now.The show ended on a cliff-hanger last season and I'm dying to see what happens with Ashley Magnus.I've seen so many great spoiler images from the various season 2 episodes, and even went on a bit of an icon making frenzy...
with the sig and avatar I'm using now being just 2 of them.There be changes afoot!! Of course Ashley and Druitt are still in it....just in different ways. B)

EDIT: I've tried adding some of the cast promo pics to this blog for some reason it refuses to let me! I've used the [IMG] tags, entered it using the "insert/edit" pic option.....NOTHING! Stupid bliddy blog.Plus the fact I'm having to try it in IE8 because firefox doesn't copy and paste things on tv.com, and I hate that already.I give up.

There I was yesterday evening,sat in one of our armchairs reading the paper.Next thing I know I reach across to pick something up off the nearby table and glance down.There on the arm of the chair,making it's way onto my arm,was a FREAKING SPIDER!!
It wasn't a little tiny thing either.Huge house spider walking onto my arm!!!! To say I freaked was an understatement.I leapt up off the chair sending the paper and tv remote flying,flung my arm around,screamed "GET IT OFF ME!!!!" over and over and started to have a panic attack,shaking something terrible.
I hate spiders.Quite content to watch them on tv,but as soon as I'm in the same room as one.....Oooooh no.
Eventually mum and I realised it wasn't on me anymore and proceeded to look in the chair,fly swat at the ready.Well she did.I was bent double trying to breathe.Trouble is I saw it on the floor but couldn't catch my breath enough to tell her so had to point.By the time she figured what I was saying it had scuttled off somewhere.Now we can't find it and I will NOT sit in the chair again.
Oh what an eventful evening.

Why on earth is 'A Town Called Eureka' NOT listed on TV.com?! It's been going for a good couple of years,but I type it in the search function and nothing comes up!
Just recently I've caught a couple of episodes on SKY1 because I just happened to be flicking through the tv channels at the time.It is funny! And smart,and from what I've seen,a programme I could really enjoy.I mean I'd heard of it before,just never watched it.I think it's relatively big in the States as well.
So why is it not on here?! Come on TV.com tell me!

Well that is Wimbledon done and dusted for another 50 weeks.I would have loved Andy Murray to have gotten to the final,that said it was an epic match and well done to Roger Federer for coming through in the end.Although is anyone else starting to feel that he is getting a little big for his boots? I mean all this RF stuff in gold on his outfits......
Now of course it means that the only tennis to watch will be on SKY,which we don't have on our main tv,only in my bedroom,so if I want to watch it I'll have to hide myself away.
The thing I'm going to miss the most about the tennis,though,is Mohamed Lahyani (Mo to almost everyone).The man is my fave umpire: good at what he does,funny,cheerful,cheeky....and with a gorgeously cute face that I just want to do the "squishy face!!" thing on.
(yes I know.....I'm in a weird mood). Truth be told I watched a couple of matches this Wimbledon for no other reason than he was officiating them.Saaaaaaadddd I know,but I find the way he says "Fed-er-er" in his Swedish accent strangely....alluring. But is there anyone that agrees with me about him?Couple of quick pics of the man in question,bottom one from this years Wimbledon (Murray V Kendrick)
Anyway,I'll go and console myself during a Lahyani free few weeks (not sure when the next tournament is) by watching the Ashes and praying to God,or whoever,that England can play better than the Aussies.I swear sport is not good for the nerves at times!

First of all,thank you to those of you that congratulated me!
Secondly: I'm having problems. 
I was browsing the Editor handguide thing you get in the email,and saw what you are supposed to get to moderate the forums.Extra options and boxes etc..... Only I haven't got them.Seems to be some kind of bug on tv.com that is preventing me from doing my Editorly duties.I've got my mod queue showing at the top of the page (empty as the show is not back yet),but other than that,and the word 'editor' next to my name on the MH page and my profile,you'd never know I was one! LOL
I hope that it's fixed soon and I have everything I might need at my disposal.You never know when you may need to disipline an unruly forum poster.....

Biggest surprise today when I logged in.I found out that I'd been made the editor for the Most Haunted guide!
I was a little stunned actually because I didn't know that Pete (GuidesAndThat) was even going to retire from it.I must say it is an honour to be entrusted with this,and I'm just off to read up on how to be a good editor.Wish me luck!
Oh and Pete....thank you so much for being a great editor,I hope I can do as well as you!

I am so psyched for this!
I have been a huge fan of Paul Gross since Due South (best old tv show eva),but it's been a long time since I've seen him in anything new.The last show was Slings and Arrows about 2/3 years ago.
Now,though,he has won the role of Darryl Van Horne in the new Eastwick tv show on ABC in America.I'm just hoping that it eventually gets shown over here in the UK as I need my PG fix.
...other than watching Due South dvd's on loop. lol YAY!
Oooooh lookit! A happy blog for a change,no ranting.

I've been watching Britain's Got Talent since it started (the show,I mean,not just this series) and I have never come across a contestant that I found as irritating as Susan Boyle.
I'm not saying the woman can't sing,her first audition was great,semi-final one not so much.It's her personality as it's coming across on screen that I don't like.She is too much in your face,childish,and I swear if she does that hip wiggle one more time I will put my fist through the screen!
She seems to want to be the centre of attention,and unfortunately the media have made that happen,blowing her out of all proportion.It seems to me that all the hype is going to her head...I wish it would stop! She isn't even the best act or singer in the show.
I read somewhere that if she looked like a beautiful supermodel and had the same voice no-one would be as interested...and I think that may be true.So I'm sorry but come saturday the only words that will be escaping my lips will be.... COME ON DIVERSITY!!!!
I swear even I will tire of these rants at some point.

I'm off on the weekend for one week to Poole in Dorset (for those non-UKers)....to visit family....who have no computer.
I swear I will shrivel from lack of internet access.Although I guess going a week without turning on a computer might be good for me...maybe.
As most of the people that used to read my blog are no longer around,or not so much,I'm sure I won't be missed.Truth be told I don't come here too much anymore myself since the "revamp",but I thought I'd blog anyway.
It's been a while since I've been down there so it'll be nice to see how it's changed.I think they've added the huge building on the waterfront since and I want to see it up close....see how ugly it is. lol So....see ya in a week.Well just over cos I don't go until Saturday...

My favourite football team,my hometown team,have effectively been relegated to League One because the FA decided we should be docked 10 points.
Our PLC goes into administration and the club is penilised...I could scream! I actually feel kinda numb,which may sound like a stupid thing to say after all it is just a game.But if we can't find a buyer for the club we will cease to exist.....Southampton FC may soon be no more.I want to cry!!
This shows you my state of mind right now.I am consoling myself by looking at pics of Marco Pierre White..
This proves one thing..... I AM GOING MAD!!

I've been watching the new series of Hell's Kitchen.I think it's now on it's 4th.First with Gordon Ramsey (wan**r),then with Jean Christope Novelli and Gary Rhodes (another wank**r).Now they have the delightful Marco Pierre White.
That "delightful" was partly loaded with sarcasm btw.Quite frankly he scares the bejesus out of me without actually doing anything....something I find strangely alluring...but I digress.
Because of the credit crunch ITV could not afford any celebrities that would be well known outside the UK (except,obviously,Linda Evans).Also besides being engaged to Gary Lineker,what is Danielle Bux known for? Nothing that I know of...
It's the sort of show that could so easily be boring....."celebrities cooking"....Wow! But oddly enough I do seem to be addicted to it. (and not just because it's Marco
)Grant Bovey was the person that got on my nerves to start with.That fact he refered to himself in the third person just screamed "To**pot" to me.Now,though,it is Jody Latham that is the front-runner in the race to become the one I can't stand.Who the hell does that little twit think he is?! Tonight's show showed him up for what he is.....arrogant,lazy,smart-***.That bloody smirk he had on his face when he admitted lying to the rest of them was..oh I could have slapped him! He has that all the time. I really hope he doesn't win.....
Anyway,my blogs seem to all be rants lately!

OK first of all I don't think this will be a spoiler for anyone as the episode has been shown in the US & UK (as of last week).If it is I deeply apologise,but I feel like I need to blog about it....
THEY KILLED BILL!!!!
I couldn't belive it.I mean I don't read spoilers for 24 as it is the sort of programme where I don't like to know what happens before it does..if you know what I mean.
He was the calm and collected boss,the best CTU ever had and he was my fave character after Jack...maybe before Jack.Plus..and not as importantly,obviously....he was kinda hot for an older guy! Especially this season.
I don't know,the show is not going to be the same for me.I'll watch to see what happens as it half way through the arc,but something will always now be missing.

Well it would appear that TV.com is a-changing again.
Less bright white now we have the option to "turn off the lights". I quite like that actually.I hope they bring back the little orange envelope to let us know when we have a PM....I know that is such a small thing,but I used to like it.
Now the writing needs to get bigger so I don't have to squint and they could be getting somewhere!

Today was horrible.We had to go to a funeral (my nan's sister died just over a week ago),my nan was sick and we got lost on the way.
To start with it was in a place we hadn't been before,so didn't know the way after a certain point.My uncle was driving us and we made it to the Somerset/Dorset border before realising we were 5 miles away from where we should be.
Once we got there it was freezing! Because it was far out in the country the church had no elecricity,was lit by oil lamps and with a small coal fire in the corner.By this time my nan hadn't eaten anything since breakfast and was feeling queasy (from the journey and stress I think). When we made it to my nan's nieces house afterwards she really was ill.
It worries me to see her like this.I know she is upset and stressed by the situation,something I certainly understand.She wasn't helping herself by not eating or drinking,though...as I told her.
Anyway we left about 4:30pm and got home an hour ago.Mum and I took nan upstairs,got her changed and did her a hot water bottle.Now she is sat in the chair bundled up drinking water and eating a plain biscuit.
Why do days like this have to happen?

Ok well it's not true...not yet anyway.
I was on his website today and saw the latest blog update.David has always been a fan of DW,he grew up over here watching it.Now he has placed himself in the running to be the 11th Time Lord.
I know so far all the actors that have played the role have been British,but I have to say I love the idea!
I've never heard him do an English/Scottish/Welsh accent,but with an English father and wife he has people who can teach him!
What do you guys think?

Ever since I have been on online I've heard people talking about Windows Live/MSN and wondered what it was.Then I found out and wanted it to be able to chat "real time" with the people I met on forums.
Until now,though,my computer has not been able to handle it (not enough HDD space and memory or something).With this new computer I was finally able to download it!
I'm now in the middle of a chat with someone from the Sanctuary forums....I love it! So anyone on here that wants to chat on MSN my addy is up there somewhere ^^^^.
