I saw four summer movies and they were all pretty good in their own way.
WAll-e was a fantastic 3d love story between 2 robots that also had some subplots about consumerism, the environment and overindulgence. I'd give it an A.
Hellboy 2 was a visual treat del toro really makes great use of puppetry to create a visual ****that helps this movie shine. The creatures just look so darn cool. The movie also creates a great sense of atmosphere and lightens the mood with some genuinely funny moments. This movie may not be the biggest film but it has alot of charm. I'd give it a A-.
The dark knight was not too shabby either. Heath ledger really made this movie shine for me. I was kinda iffy on how he would be able to top jack's version of joker but he does it by creating another type of joker. One that is a bit more dark, a bit more crazy but also a bit more sane at the same time. Aaron Eckhart makes a really good harvey dent, taking the role as the white knight to batman as the dark knight. I have to say i really enjoyed this movie although I don't really like bale as batman. I really dislike the weird voice thing he does(i know i'm going to get flamed for that) and I feel like he didn't really represent the same tactical and insanely smart batman from the justice league show. But to be fair none of the movie batmans really have that kind of smarts. I have had a huge crush on Maggie Gyllenhaal ever since I saw her as a satan worshipping make up artist. She just so purdy.
But I wish she had a bigger part in this movie. Her character didn't really make that big of an impact. Forgive me Maggie! A-
The last movie I saw yesterday was You Don't mess with the Zohan feat. adam sandler. This movie is stupid, I mean really stupid...but I still found it to have lots of funny moments spread throughout the movie. Sandler plays an israeli counter terorist that comes to America to become a hairdresser and leave his life of killing behind. But when he arrives in America he is recognized by a palestinian cab driver who wants to claim zohan's life to become a hero to his people. Filled with lots of ethnic jokes and lots of granny porking this is definitely not one for the kiddies.
Well I joined Giantbomb.com to follow some people there. My id on there is spinningbeat add me if you want. It is basically the site run by the fired members of gamespot. I look forward to seeing how that site will develop.

OMG THAT WAS AMAZING!!! A really kick@ss ending to a kick@ss show. This was seriously one of the best animated series of all time. (including alot of anime) If you're not watching this show you deserve to die. Haha maybe that's a bit overboard but... OMFG!!!!
Well nick is having a marathon this week of avatar eps everyday. All this is leading up to the one hour special movie this saturday titled "sozin's comet". Nick was showing season three earlier this year but stopped cause of the writers strike. When it ended the boiling rock eps were released and I fell back in love with the show again. If anyone hasn't seen the boiling rock eps you have to watch them lots of good OMG moments.
It's kinda sad to see it end but if it's anything like the rest of season 3 it will be a big bang. Omg they are showing another new ep tonight! YAY!
If you're still not watching avatar...WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?! jk, but seriously it's too good not to watch.
EDIT:: they showed a new episode today in which zuko and katara find the man that killed katara and sokka's mother.
Tommorow they are showing the last new episode before the finale on saturday. For the people that are doubtful of the show, give it the five episode test. I'm pretty sure if you watch five episodes you'll end up watching them all.
EDIT2:: I watched hellboy 2 last weekend with my cousins and it was pretty kick@ss. Everything is kicked up a notch from the first including the comedy which is handled real well. Alot of the creatures are twisted and look bad@ss. This one was alot better than the first movie in the series.
Well it has been a little less than a week off from gamespot (about 6 days). Anything interesting happen with you guys? I have just been playing games with my clan and going to school in the summer. Oh yea and watching some of the stuff about e3 on g4.
Well first things first FFXIII went multiplat in the european and usa regions. That was quite a shocker to me. At first I was kinda mad at ms for yet again stealing another exclusive from sony. But I just learned to let it go. It's not really ms' fault anyways. SE just was going where the money was. I just hope this isn't a continuing process I mean console exclusives make a console worth getting. If ms were to buy everything they'd become just like the EA of console makers. What happened to competition breeds quality?
But I digress from my fanboyish rant. It's actually quite good that this game is coming to the 360 as well I just hope they don't let the 360 production interfere with the ps3 release date. Anyways I hope all goes well and everyone gets to play this great game.
It was a pretty lackluster e3 showing from all groups. But I guess some of the developers wanted to save the good stuff for their own little showcases. BTW, I was kinda iffy about killzone but the videos look insanely good.I can't wait to try out this one.
A few other things that caught my attention was Valkyria Chronicles and the news that eternal sonata will be coming to the us as well as japan. Hopefully once ps3 production costs go down more we will see a new slew of rpgs.
Starting right now I am going on a one week hiatus from gamespot. Why? Cause of all the "let's complain about a free 2.4 update" threads. I too often get upset with people whining and complaining about what they think is somehow a god given right. I don't get the logic behind all these threads. I guess it's just that complaining has become an American right... no duty. But even the things they are complaining about are not really worth complaining about. Sony basically is giving us alot for nothing but people still want to complain. Has it become so etched into our consumer culture that we even complain about things that are free? What ever happened to "You get what you pay for"? If sony charges you for service then you have the right to say "Well the 360 has voice chat and blaa blaa blaa" but they don't. I'm sick of all the idiots out there.
