Tonight I finished Halo 3 on Legendary (solo) and now have over 20K gamerscore (20124 to be exact). I was sitting at 19999 for a week or two while I played through the game as I wanted to finish the Legendary mode version of the game and I wanted to cross the 20K threshold by acquiring the Legendary Achievement!

Halo 3 in Legendary is challenging and fun. Particularly so in solo, as a couple of spots in the game took quite some time to figure out how to complete them. Whoulda been much easier with a friend in co-op. Now I want to play the meta-games and get those achievements. However, Halo 3 will sit on the shelf for a couple of weeks so I can finish Dark Athena and Quantum of Solace.

Perhaps I'll go back in between those games to play some Halo 3 multiplayer but I rarely find that fun as there are too many buttheads online that just want to trash talk. For example, I was playing GTA IV just after it came out and was in a Mr. Tasty racing and someone started saying I was cheating - how and the heck do you cheat driving a Mr. Tasty? It was the first time driving that vehicle and that race for me and that is what I was playing against? He and all his "buddies" left me bad rep. What a crock! I want to play for fun, don't care if I win or lose. The most fun I've had in Halo 3 multiplayer is in free for all play. Every man/woman for themselves. Still too many jerks tho that takes the fun out of playing multiplayer games.

Which I why I'm so hot on the newer co-op games - Horde-style, playing against bots that while they trash talk you, you know it isn't personal. LOL. UT3 is a great example, so much fun. Even Left 4 Dead, you can play and your AI "teammates" have your back. Just my musing. Trying to put the fun back in multiplayer.

Here's to driving more Mr Tasty's!

Achieved 19999 gamerscore last night playing Dark Athena - good game so far. Like the fact that it's two games in one and I loved the original Butcher Bay so I'm looking forward to replaying it.

I'm currently playing three games - Halo 3, Dark Athena and Lego Indiana Jones. I'm going for the Legendary achievement in Halo 3(SOLO)- this is fairly time-consuming at the moment and some sections are particularly frustrating so I take a break playing Lego IJ to take the edge off. LOL.

Regarding previous blog on Achievement Whoring - I've decided that it's more trouble than it's worth and was not having fun - if it ain't fun, why bother is my humble opinion. That's why I play games, to have fun. Challenges can be fun - like the Legendary solo game. I'm having a blast figuring out all the puzzles the folks at bungie threw in there in Legenary mode. I'm about halfway through the game and some sections took more than 4 hours (yes, I'll admit it took that long), yet I ham having a blast and am looking forward to finishing the fight in this mode. I'd like to finish Gears 1 at the hardest (INSANE) difficulty and I'm at the final boss fight but at the time I was playing it, it wasn't fun after two hours of constantly dying so I gave up. Yeah, I've read all the 'helpful' hints. Perhaps I'll finish it after finishing Gears 2 on insane.

If you haven't found it yet - check out the new website TrueAchievements.com. Great site! A new way to look at your achievements.

Well, that's all for now. Good Gaming to you!

Last night I hit 13,000 achievement points and reached level 15 on Gamespot. What a successful night!

I was playing UT3 when I hit the 13K mark and went a bit over playing The Club. Yeah, I know these games are old but what fun they are. I love UT3 even tho no one plays it online anymore it seems. Perhaps when Miday and Epic release new content this will change and I can play a few ranked games. I will get pwned but this game is a ton of fun IMHO. The fast pace and being able to modify the heck out of gametypes and play against bots is a blast.

The Club is another fast paced game that is a blast to play and attempt to master. It appears no one is playiong it online either but what the hey. I have a friend come over and we play them splitscreen and have a blast.

I recently joined Gamefly to help keep the rental costs down. I like to see if I like a game before I buy - works well for me so far. Won't be renting Fallout 3 or Gears of War 2 because I am buying both on launch day! Can't wait. Will schedule with all my friends because I plan on being unavailable otherwise!

Have a good one, hope to see you online!

Last night I finally reached 10,000 Achievement points! Playing my latest favorite Bioshock. A milestone for me, some may find it a minimal gesture at gaming. I hadn't decided I wanted to be a Achievement point whore until I reached 5,000 point and was consistently being beaten down by my 13 year old nephew (who, I must say, is a much better gamer and dedicated than I am...). He loves to come over to my house and cream me at Madden - which is OK with me - I play for fun!

BTW, Bioshock is such a great game - if you have not played it - get it! It is probably on sale somewhere. Great game, and you don't have to go online (multiplayer) to get all the achievement points as it does not have a multiplayer component. The only achievement I have not gotten for this game is the DLC achievement for beating the game on Hard without dying. I am waiting until I acquire an HDTV before I try this, mainly because this game deserves an HDTV - it has such great scenery and such.

So now I am going through all my older games and replaying them to rack up more points. Perhaps I'll see you online!

    Later!

What the heck is RedSVO? Why the h-e-double-toohpicks did I pick that as a gamertag?

Well, let me explain... I own a Red Mustang SVO (circa 1986) and have belonged to a number of car clubs that have/had websites dedicated to these cars and online chat rooms dedicated to commiserating with my fellow Mustang SVO devotees. I started using a tag name RedSVO a long time ago as my online identity and when it came time to create my XBL identity - well, I couldn't come up with anything cool at the time so I picked the one everyone I know is familiar with. And that is how it came to be.

Had I had an opportunity to do it all over again, I probably would have chosen a much cooler one - what I still don't know because all the gamertags I might have used have already been taken. Probably something to do with Halo or Interstate '76, my all-time favorite games. So I am and will always be forever known as RedSVO on XBL.

Well I haven't been a blogger anywhere else and thought I'd give it a try tonight. I haven't been very involved in the forums either until recently - just hanging back seeing what's shakin'. Seems kind of like XBL - you have some ranters and you have some that are actually nice to talk and play games with. I play for fun, sure I like to win and stomp heads in GOW but I also respect my fellow players and don't get in to the trash talking. Sure, sitting around with my friends, knocking back a brew or few, we trash each other a lot - all in jest and we know it. It's face to face, mano e mano, not anonymously like on XBL. But enough about that. You can agree with me or not, I won't take it personally.

So last night I went to Best Buy to buy one of the cool Elite Black controllers for my 360 and pick up a copy of Condemned 2: Bloodshot (which I got at Circuit City price match AND got a Best Buy $10 Gift Card in the deal - sweet!). I started the Solo version to get a hang of the fighting techniques before attempting the multiplayer maps (I'm so going to get pwned). The game is visually better than Condemned 1, gameplay is decidedly different. Going to take some getting used to. Being the achievement whore I am, I'm happy with the 40 points scored so far... I'm kinda looking forward to playing it over again (like Condemned 1) so I can get all the Gold and other missed achievements. Don't think I'll get all the Multiplayer achievements since I don't have that many "Friends" to assist in that endeavor and my nephews are too young to play this game (lots of bad language - I don't mind but I don't want the youngen's hearing it from me).

Perhaps I'll start digging this blogging stuff and add more musing in the future - for now, I'm going back to one of my favorite weeknight pastimes - playing on my 360! Find me online as RedSVO.

    Stay Cool.
