I finally earned my Captain Contributor, 100 contributions avatar! It’s not the most attractive icon I’ve seen, but I am proud of it all the same. I guess now the next one will be 500 contributions. I have a lot of work to do.

Yay me, I went up another level already! I was only a level seven for 6 days! Now I am a level eight, Super-Friend.   I guess my long weekend full of contributions paid off. I contributed over 35 items in four days. Maybe I can do it again this weekend and be level 9 by Tuesday.

Halloween turned out to be great this year. I took the day off work to get caught up on some homework and to be able to spend the day with my niece and nephews. My sister and I went to each one of the kids classes today to give the kids cookies and goody bags. I know that I must sound like some old fogy, because I am always doing something with the kids, but I promise I’m not. I just have a soft spot for children and Halloween is one of those days that are only fun when you are with children, just like going to the fair or Christmas day. They really racked up too! We took three of the kids and each one came home with a paper grocery bag and candy bucket full. Anyway, we had a great time and I hope that everyone out there on tv.com had an equal amount of happiness

I got my new “side kick’n contributor” icon today for making over 50 contributions! I am upset though, because it looks like 10 of those will be for nothing. Those 10 were approved and the levels did not run so I don’t think that I will get credit for those I guess I will have to learn to contribute during the week so that the work I do on the weekends is not lost.

Yay! I am now a Level 7 “Talk Show Host”! It has taken me nine days to level up again, because I have not had the time to watch any shows, let alone contribute to the guides. But, the weekend is here, my DVR is full and I will be contributing all weekend!

My brother-in-law and his wife celebrated their first wedding anniversary this weekend! In honor of their special day, they invited about a hundred of their closest family and friends to a big pig pickin’. Now if you haven noticed yet, I come from a place where EVERYTHING is celebrated with a pig pickin’. Don’t get me wrong, I love gathering with family and friends to get incredibly drunk and then get loud, but it makes you wonder what else they will celebrate by cooking a pig with an apple in his mouth. Where does it stop? I can see it now; booze in hand, pig on grill, Johnny Cash on the radio and my brother-in-laws wife opening a baby shower bag to find the cutest little John Deer baby blanket. I should stop being so evil!  I myself have thrown a pig pickin’ before and everyone had fun so… Anyway, we had a great time, and I wish the two many more happy years!!

We had a great time at the fair! It was a little difficult keeping my eyes on all those kids, but they had soooooo much fun. It makes it all worth it, when those kids come off the rides with their faces lit up and jumping around with excitement.  This was my niece’s first fair ever and you could tell. The look on her face when we rode the Carousel was priceless. She liked it so much that we ended up riding four more times. The cutest thing was when my 3 year old niece decided that she would rather pull the wagon that we took for her to ride in. Here we are walking through the fair with a kid just barely two foot tall pulling a huge wagon around and running into everything. Thank goodness everyone thought she was so cute, because she ran into a lot of people. I guess she is in her independent stage, because there was no use telling her that she could not do it. Everything worked out great though; we had plenty of ride tickets so the kids were riding rides from 5:30pm until right before the fair closed at 11:30pm. I have been dead all weekend though. Saturday I could not even roll out of the bed until after 2 in the pm.

If you read my blog from Tuesday, you will find that my husband and I have already been to the fair once this week. We attended a concert for Eric Church Monday night. Today we are going to enjoy the fair festivities and we are taking five kids with us. Before you get the wrong idea, they are not mine!!! I am taking my two brothers, my two nephews and my little niece. Yes, I know, I am crazy!!! I am sure that I am going to have my hands full, because my niece is 3, my youngest nephew is six, my youngest brother is 7, the oldest nephew is 10 and finally my oldest brother will be 11 in three weeks. (I am sure that you can tell by now that my mom started having kids again when I was in middle school, which was the same time my older sister was starting her family.) This will be my niece’s first visit to the fair. I am so excited and I really hope that they enjoy themselves.  So tune in later to see how the trip goes and I’ll let you know if I have any hair left.

What a fantastic artist. My husband and I went out to the North Carolina State Fair last night to see Eric Church in concert. We first discovered Eric this past July, when we went to the Grand Ole Opry for our anniversary. We thought that he was an amazing singer, so when we learned that he would be at our state fair, we had to buy tickets to she him.  Our seats were in the second row, but we were standing at the stage the whole time. He put on a great show! So to anyone who reads this, if you have the chance to see him perform, go, it’s worth the money. I can’t wait until he comes back to the great state of North Carolina in December, because I will be in the front row!

I watched a great movie over the weekend! Yes guys, I am not only a TV freak, I am a movie fanatic, so many of my blogs will be movie related! This weekends movie lineup started with The Lake House. I loved this movie; it was so different. It seems like all the movies that are made now have been done before, but this one was defiantly original. A guy and a girl meeting and falling in love when they live two years apart, whoda thunk it? I am very pleased that I decided to watch this movie and I do agree that it is the romantic movie of the year. Thank You For Smoking on the other hand was a little strange. This movie really did not have a point. I am glad I watched it, only because this is one of those movies you need to say you have seen, but I did not enjoy it. There were some funny parts, but for the most part, this movie was boring. Not bad for a weekend though, one good movie and one to help you fall asleep.

My niece turned three today! I tell you they grow up so fast, every time I turn around I feel like I am missing something. We threw her a huge princess party today with the whole family attending. She got some really great gifts, all of which were princess themed. At her age it is all about being a princess. Most days, I think she really does believe that she is a princess and we are her royal subjects. We all had a good time though and she was happy, which is all that counts.

Did you know that there are about 21 million people who suffer from Paraskevidekatriaphobia, fear of Friday the 13th?

"Friday 13th is unlucky for some. The risk of hospital admission as a result of a transport accident may be increased by as much as 52 percent. Staying at home is recommended."

-British Medical Journal in 1993 entitled "Is Friday the 13th Bad for Your Health?"

So I suggest that everyone take the day off to sit at home and watch his or her favorite shows!
