If you guys are low on the funds, and are looking for some extraordinary games that are worth the time, and cheap; then these are 10 $15-$20 full retail games are absolutely worth it. (these prices come from Target and Walmart)

Dark Souls (Walmart: $20; PS3, Xbox 360)

Dark Souls

This spiritual sequel to 2009's PS3-exclusive Dead Souls is the perfect game to play for long periods of time, with a focus on brutal difficulty and (LOTS of) grinding, for hours on end. Great game for masochistic grinders.

Final Fantasy XIII (Walmart: $15; PS3, Xbox 360)

Final Fantasy XIII

The newest series of Final Fantasy games, XIII, has already spawned one sequel, with another coming (exclusive to PS3). This RPG focuses less on exploration, and more on slick presentation and polished gameplay. Say what you will about this game, but it's absolutely worth $15.

Mass Effect 2 (Walmart: $15; PS3, Xbox 360)

Mass Effect 2

This sequel to 2007's RPG, Mass Effect, brings moral choices and gameplay to new hights; plus awesome graphics and story don't hurt either.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Target, Walmart: $20: PS3, Xbox 360)

Human Revolution

Uncharted 2 (Target: $20; PS3)

Uncharted

Do you even have to ask?

Assassin's Creed 2 (Walmart: $20; PS3, Xbox 360 (preferred console for AC))

Assassin's Creed 2

Sequel to 2007's amazing Assassin's Creed, blends stealth with astounding combat, and gorgeous presentation to boot. Be sure to play this before Brotherhood and Revelations, as the story lead directly into those (oh, and play the first one).

Batman: Arkham Asylum (Target: $20; PS3, Xbox 360)

BATMAN!

Prequel to 2011's Arkham City, this is the game that redeems Batman after the abysmal Dark Tomorrow. Awesome combat, great graphics, and tons of fanservice, this game is enough to make anyone happy.

Batman

Red Dead Redemption (Walmart: $20; PS3, Xbox 360)

Red Dead

Spiritual sequel to 2004's Red Dead Revolver, Rockstar (of GTA fame) manages to make the wild west better than ever before, with stunning graphics, awesome gameplay, tons of stuff to do, and a huge sprawling frontier. You would think this was their best game ver, but no, that honor goes to.....

Grand Theft Auto IV (Walmart, Target: $20; PS3, Xbox 360)

GTA IV

GTA IV is a phenomenal Open-world action game, with almost a hundred missions to complete, and one of the greatest narratives of all-time. A huge sprawling city to play in, in singleplayer and multiplayer. Totally recommended.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (Target: $20; PS3)

MGS4

Metal Gear Solid 4 is a true crowning achievement in video games. Incredible graphics, astounding gameplay, and a phenomenal storyline that spans 3 games before it (so, I guess it's not that cheap, but oh so worth it).

I hope I helped in your cheap quest for great games.

Thanks.  I never considered checking Target.  Don't know why. This is a great list.  I have all but two.
