I watched the Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony conferences for both 2007 and 2008, and I just think it's a little ironic and unnerving and annoying that I didn't get the Microsoft and Nintendo "Virtually There" emblems for both years, but considering that I did get Sony emblems for both years, it doesn't really matter. This isn't a major catastrophe, but I just like to mention it when I feel cheated in some way. Gamespot, you need to look into this...

This has to be the best company in the whole world. Really. They're actually delivering what gamers want and need, and not hiding behind useless and meaningless stats that nobody cares about. Resistance 2 looks friggin' awesome, and don't even get me started on God of War 3. The PSP games are really cool, especially Valkyria (did I get that right?). DC Universe Online deserves a look at least, and truth be told, MAG totally and utterly blew me away. Tretton's presentation was subtle and on point as usual, and I seriously think this guy deserves more stock options or something. Just superb. As usual, these guys have not abandoned their old consoles, and the PS2 is still as promising as ever. I'm starting to feel that Square Enix made a wrong turn by jumping to Microsoft, but I guess we'll see how that plays out.

Well, after the MS conference I guess I was expecting a little more from Nintendo, and they didn't exactly live up to expectations. I think they're pushing the "gaming for everyone" boundary too much too fast. Most of the games are kiddish and not for hardcore gamers, and COD5 on the WII somehow looked dated as far as graphics are concerned. I'm hoping more from Sony's conference... maybe Tretton won't let me down.

Okay, keeping my general hatred for Microsoft aside for a moment, I have to say that the conference was nothing unexpected. The Avatar thing was just plain lame, and the rest was pretty much taking Sony PS3 concepts and trying to copy them less efficiently. Somehow the conference was incomplete with Gates and Peter Moore. The FF13 announcement was already expected, and I still feel it's PS3 version is going to be a lot better. GOW2 looks incredible, and I'm eagerly awaiting Fable 2...

All in all, nothing new. And did anyone notice GOW2 being restarted in between and then proceeding exactly as before, even though they said it was realtime? And the absence of CLAPPING???

I still remember how I used to stay up late to play this game for days on end... Diablo one, two, LoD... ahhhhh...

I'm so happy about the new installment that I can barely contain myself, so I'm going to go and lock myself in a room and shout out my joy for a few days; you can go and read this in the mean time

Well, Firefox 3 got launched. I wanted to give everyone a heads up so they can go check it out. It's not much different from their last version, besides being prettier and neater. It's a little easier to use, a little faster, but I guess those are the obvious traits of an "upgrade". Anyhoo, go check it out. I hope MS is doing something serious with their IE8...
