10May 09
Let me give you a brief update on my not-so-great life.
Graduation is on May 23, 2009. Damn, they took so long into putting an exact date. Who's in charge of my university, TNA or WWE?
Unlike last year, I haven't gone to the cinema that much. I only saw Australia (*** 1/2) and Watchmen (****). Wanted to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but the reviews weren't great and I got lazy too. I could have paid to see Oscar-winning movies like Slumdog Millionaire (**** 1/2) and Vicky Cristina Barcelona (*** 1/2) on the theaters, but I got too lazy and downloaded them before the Golden Globes arrived. I never gave a damn about Star Trek, yet it has high reviews. I'm not a sociallite, but I'm not extremely geek enough to care about Star Trek. The Wrestler premieres on May 20th here, but I've already seen it (****). But I'm not gonna miss the new Terminator film. I'm sure it'll be good, but not as great as Terminator 2: Judgment Day (very few films can top T2).
As for my PSP, I bought Daxter recently and my PSP game collection amounts to 10.
And no fancy graduation party for me... some of my friends wanted to organize it, but some opposed. It's expensive to organize one, but come on... eh, I should be aware that not everyone are the same. I can easily get my stuff paid by my old man... which still brings to the point that I'm unemployed. Sucks.
Wrestling PPVs, I'll be short for April. Backlash >>>> Lockdown > WrestleMania XXV. WM-XXV disappointed me in so many ways, it wasn't even funny to watch. Someone should have gunned down Triple H and Cena after they won their matches. And Lockdown was just barely better than WM XXV. It had some of the vintage TNA crap, but a bit more watchable in some aspects than WrestleMania XXV (build-up to Lockdown < build-up to WM). And I'm 50-50 on either HBK-Taker or Cena-Edge for 2009's MOTY. Backlash was simply great and fun to watch. But Shane McMahon needs to be shot. And what else... the Draft was good. I became more of a Raw watcher and ECW watcher because of the timeslots and it's easier to watch wrestling on Mondays and Tuesdays rather than Thursdays and Fridays.
More to say... oh, Oasis live was fun. I still think Wonderwall is overrated, but it got the biggest reaction of the night (Don't Look Back In Anger got second place in crowd reaction, followed by Champagne Supernova, Supersonic, and Morning Glory). But my current favorite Oasis song is Falling Down

5Feb 09Anyways, yeah.
Well, I did ended college/university. Graduation is in May this year.
Attended the Los Amigos Invisibles concert before the year ended. Concert was really great.
As for 2009, New Year's start kinds sucked.
I'm not attending the SD! house show at the moment, even if Undertaker arrives (and maybe Matt Hardy too). I'm not with much money right now. Either way, it's not gonna sell out (ticket prices and very poor publicity). Last year's Raw house show drew either 15000 or 18000 out of 21000, and this was with little to none publicity. Maybe it was the "first time" factor that helped getting such number attendance higher than what I expected.
Only movie I saw in the theater was Australia (*** 1/2). I still wanna see Benjamin Button and Revolutionary Road, which are still available. Still waiting for Slumdog Millionaire (**** 1/2) and The Wrestler (**** 1/4) to appear on the big screen.
And the WWE forums here are okay, but it's annoying to post there.
A quick, small ranking of best wrestling matches for January.
1. Chris Sabin vs Alex Shelley - TNA Genesis 2009 (**** 1/4) - MOTY so far. Give them time and they'll put a great match. Ending was predictable, but worked well. This can be easily superbed, though.
2. 30-Man Royal Rumble Match - WWE Royal Rumble 2009 (*** 3/4) - Worked well after giving it a second view. Loved to see RVD there, but while checking the RT threads, some jack*ss ruined the surprise for me. Orton won, which was very predictable. I thought that this Rumble would have been less predictable without the punt against Vince (up to that point, nobody seemed like a serious candidate to win at the RR).
3. Kurt Angle vs Jeff Jarrett - TNA Genesis 2009 (*** 3/4) - Good brawl. Jarrett nearly broke his neck doing a dive against Angle. I lol'd with the Guitar-Chair spot from Angle.
4. Edge vs Jeff Hardy - Royal Rumble 2009 (*** 3/4) - Slow start, picked up very well later and it included the heel turn from Matt. I know 5. John Cena vs Shawn Michaels - Raw (*** 1/2) - Everyone calls this as the current MOTY, but not me. I thought their other matches were much better. I won't deny that Michaels and Cena had a great match.
Criminal stuff of the month:
Shane McMahon fake-punching Orton and Legacy: Even at f*cking it up, WWE can be better than TNA. They tried to fix it on the next Raw, though. They chopped Orton's balls there big time thanks to Shane.
Feast Or Fired being worthless: See Hernandez. Lethal too, but it doesn't compare to Hernandez wasting a shot against Sting on tv (he should have used it at Genesis and won the damn belt).
Matt Hardy going to SD! with the greatest of ease: More like Long let Hardy leave easily. He should have put him against Finlay and have Hardy win on a ER match, but cheating and making Hornswoggle bleed. Great promo from Matt on SD!
Frontline still getting buried: No explanation needed.
Most interesting wrestler this month: Randy Orton
Best Wrestler: Shawn Michaels- Posted Feb 5, 2009 11:27 am PT

1. Take No Prisoners (ROH)
2. No Way Out (WWE)
3. Hard Justice (TNA)
4. Royal Rumble (WWE)
5. One Night Stand (WWE)
6. Victory Road (TNA)
7. WrestleMania XXIV
8. Summerslam (WWE)
9. Final Resolution (TNA)
10. Lockdown (TNA)
11. Against All Odds (TNA)
12. The Great American Bash (WWE)
13. Slammiversary (TNA)
14. Night Of Champions (WWE)
15. Sacrifice (TNA)It's not a great PPV for ROH standards, but it suffices to beat No Way Out in regards to star matches. TNP is the 6th ROH PPV. I have yet to see Undeniable (where Nigel wins the title; he still has it), Rising Above or Respect Is Earned II.
So let's get into the matches. The only ones I expect to read and maybe comment would be telvisnostic, lightning and maybe wounds.
1. Four Corner Survival for a ROH World Title shot later in the night - Tyler Black defeated Claudio Castagnoli, Go Shoizaki and Delirious (** 1/2): Quite good match to get the PPV started. It was a bit funny to watch thanks to Delirious and Claudio. But Tyler wins with the Phoenix Splash, a move that makes the Shooting Star Press less, less impressive. Oh, and Nigel McGuinness did guest commentary for this match. He's a good commentator, actually.
Note: The PPV song was "Watch Yourself" from Ministry. And after this match, ROH aired a News Report video regarding the Tag Team Title changinng since the 5th PPV (AOTF beated Briscoes and lost it a month later to No Remorse Corps), which was a nice touch from ROH.
2. Kevin Steen defeated Roderick Strong (** 1/4): This needed more airtime. 10 minutes isn't much for them, really. Steen wins with a Package Piledriver if I'm not mistaken.
3. Briscoes defeated Necro Butcher & Joey Matthews (AOTF) - Tag Team Street Fight (***): Crazy brawl. Chair shots everywhere (most of them unprotected). Even Necro attacked Mark with a shovel. Hell, he nearly wins the match with a roll-up pin of all things (would have been extremely rare for a guy like Necro). I kinda hated the ending because of three big spots in less than 1 minute. Kida overkill IMO especially between the last two spots. First, Jay Briscoe Death Valley Drived Joey Matthews (a.k.a. Joey Mercury, who will come back to WWE later this year with Christian York as a tag team) through a table. A few seconds later, Mark jumped from the top of the entrance stage and lands on Necro through a table. 5 seconds later, Jaydriller on Matthews and the match is over interrupting a "Holy Sh*t" chant from the Mark-Necro spot. Yep, the ex-WWE guy jobs at the PPV. And there was a BotchaMania worthy spot: one of the Briscoes (Mark) tripped from the top rope while trying to connect the Doomsday Device on Matthews. But ROH would never left Maffew use their footage. F*gs.
Note: I think at this point they aired a video regarding Morishima being suspended from ROH PPVs after attacking a ref.
4. Brent Albright defeated Erick Stevens (* 1/2) - Kinda boring and short match. Sweeney distracts Stevens and Albright (back then heel, now he's a face and on his own without Sweet & Sour Inc.) connects a Half-Nelson Suplex for the win. The announcers put ROH over as the non-flashy company that has their wrestlers working their for their love of wrestling rather than the money whil saying that Sweeney holds wrestlers and sells them down the river to his buddy Vince (McMahon).
5. No Remorse Corps (Rocky Romero & Davey Richards) defeated Jigsaw & Ruckus to retain the ROH Tag Team Titles (*** 1/4) - Fun and awesome match. This match was taped in Orlando (the rest were in Philly) during the WrestleMania weekend. Jigsaw wasn't wearing his mask, he looks like a generic nerdy virgin. Lots of cool spots and the crowd made the match worthwhile too.
6. Bryan Danielson defeated Austin Aries (****) - Damn good match. I don't need to explain much of this, really.
7. Nigel McGuinness defeated Tyler Black (AOTF) to retain the ROH World Heavyweight Title (**** 1/2) - Outstanding match and my MOTY pick for the moment (better than Michaels-Flair and the TNA Victory Road World X Cup intro match). Two heels battling for the title, but before the bell rings, Nigel attacks Black and he becomes the underdog face. At the beginning, it was Nigel offense (no lariats yet) plus him dissing the crowd. Later, offense from Black. Early in the match, Black goes for a springboard, but Nigel stops him with a chair shot to the head. Later, Black crawled back to the ring only to get pinned, but kicks out for a big pop. Later it becomes a vack and forth match. Nigel switches to McLariat mode and starts hitting Black. Lots of nearfalls and even the crwod chanted "That was 3" when Black nearly wins the match. During the match, Nigel aims for Black's left arm, so by the end after a Lariat, he makes Black tap out with a Arms submission move. Great, great match.
I should also mention that this PPV had plenty of AOTF promos. Some were pretty good, the others, not so much.
The score of TNP has at least 0.3 points more than No Way Out, for the record. And the score difference between No Way Out and Hard Justice is around 0.1 FYI.
I have a feeling that maybe Unforgiven could top Take No Prisoners with their 3 scramble matches and the HBK-Jericho match. It can do it. No Surrender, not so much, really. But then again, I didn't had high hopes for the last two TNA PPVs, so maybe it could surprise me again.

PPV Ranking
1. No Way Out (WWE)
2. Hard Justice (TNA)
3. Royal Rumble (WWE)
4. One Night Stand (WWE)
5. Victory Road (TNA)
6. WrestleMania XXIV
7. Summerslam (WWE)

10. Against All Odds (TNA)
11. The Great American Bash (WWE)
12. Slammiversary (TNA)
13. Night Of Champions (TNA)
14. Sacrifice (TNA)This excludes some PPVs I haven't watched yet, like the last 3 from ROH, Backlash, Judgment Day and Destination X. For WrestleMania XXIV, I'm including the Battle Royale and Kane vs Chavo. PPVs like Slammiversary, WM and NOC got hurt by having low star rating on 1 or 2 matches while Sacrifice had too many short matches. Hurts their overall... this is based on matches alone, not my personal enjoyment.
In one of sylent_assasin's blogs, he talked about movie trilogies... and I commented to tell him that I could recomend him to watch great films. I was even willing to make a Top 10 or Top 50 ranking, but I think I'll recomend one movie at a time.
Movie that I'll recomend:

Jeux d'Enfants (Love Me If You Dare)
Bettter than liberty. Better than life.
This film is romantic, funny as hell, entertaining and it's not an english-talking film. You guys probably heard of Marion Cotillard only because she won the Oscars this year. I'd recomend to watch this film. If I'm not mistaken, Cotillard and Canet weren't an couple until this film. They even dared each other to do stuff in real life like taking a picture of an *ss (Marion to Guillaume) or taking a picture of a dick and holding it with her hand (Canet to Cotillard) in 1 hour or she would be walking naked across the set.

Hancock - *** 1/4My ranking for TDK originally was **** 3/4, but after cooling down, a **** 1/2 ranking seems pretty fair. As for Hancock, a good film, but some things didn't made much sense to me. The fighting between Smith and Theron nearly killed the film, though. Turnoff. But overall, good.
I was checking the star rating for all matches and this would be the ranking of PPVs based on matches alone rather than my own enjoyment.
1) No Way Out (WWE)
2) Royal Rumble (WWE)

La Môme (La Vie En Rose) - **** 1/4
Iron Man - **** 1/4
Speed Racer - *** 1/2
Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull - ** 1/2Indy was average at silly. Good effects and action, but half-assed storyline too.
Slammiversary 2008
Petey Williams vs Kaz (*** 1/4): Very good match to open the PPV. Petey was more over with the crowd, despite being a face.
Gail Kim, ODB & Roxxi vs Beautiful People & Moose (* 3/4): Not too good of a match really. I expected better from them. Also, they protected BP with Moose taking the pin.
LAX vs 3D (**): Crowd begged for tables. Nothing happened. Match was okay at best. People really wanted to see the old Dudleys. LAX and 3D failed to get a good technical match.
Kong's 2 Challenges (1/4*): First girl jobbed fast in 3 minutes. Second girl got to hit Kong, but later jobbed in 2 minutes. Later Young brings Elvis and Kong powerbombed Elvis. Shame that she didn't attack Eric. Crowd could have popped bigger.
Wedding segment was horrible.
Kurt Angle vs AJ Sty|es (*** 3/4): Very good match. But it had the potential to be so much better. Guess Angle really needed to be protected.
KOTM (** 3/4): Okay KOTM. Piss poor ending with Joe pinning Roode after a Muscle Buster and climbing the ladder quickly to put the belt on the top to retain. The ending was correct, the way it happened was poor.
One Night Stand 2008
Jeff Hardy vs Umaga (* 1/2): I expected better. The slide from Jeff to Umaga on the stairs was a cool spot. Other than that, not a good match.
ECW Singapore Cane Match (** 1/2): Very fun match. Show bladed badly in the eye. But a good match from all of them.
Cena vs JBL (* 3/4): Final minutes were good, the rest were boring including the poor ending to the match. Cena uses the chain on JBL and locks the STFU, JBL in 2 seconds bleeds from the mouth and loses.
Melina vs Beth Phoenix (** 1/4): Decent match. I'm not rating this higher since they promised an I Quit match (you'd expect weapons and more violence), not a Submission match. Still, good action, but didn't played to the gimmick.
Batista vs Shawn Michaels (***): Good match and storyline there.
Triple H vs Randy Orton (**): Abrupt ending. Not a good match compared to the one at No Mercy. I understand it ended earlier because Orton got injured (which made me pleased to hear, but only accelerates the eventual title reign of Cena and/or extends Paul's reign), but not that good of a match, really.
Undertaker vs Edge (****): Very good match. Both men delivered. Wonder how Taker will come back. If he comes back before 4 months, this would be a cheap way to get rid of him. I don't wanna see the Edge-Taker feud anymore, really. Good wrestlers, but the feud here wasn't that good, really.
New PSP Games I got:

My new laptop (early birthday gift from my dad, he gave it to me today when he was drunk with Jack Daniels):

Well, dunno what else to say. Time is really flying fast and the semester in college is about to end.

Waste of time for the most part of the PPV. Obviously, most of the DWT matches were gonna be short.
Deuces Wild Tournament (Quarter Finals 1): Sting & Storm vs Team 3D (*) - Not much to say here. T3D worked on Sting, Storm was drinking in the corner. Sting had it, he tags Storm and puts him through a table. Devon wins. Whatever.
Deuces Wild Tournament (Quarter Finals 2): Christian Cage & Rhino vs Booker T and Robert Roode (* 3/4) - A few more minutes and it could have been good.
Deuces Wild Tournament (Quarter Finals 3): LAX vs Kip James & Matt Morgan (1/2 *) - Boring.
Deuces Wild Tournament (Quarter Finals 4): BG James & Awesome Kong vs Super Eric & AJ Sty|es (* 1/2) - Same as the 2nd match. Kong didn't look that good. Damn Eric.
Terrordome (** 1/2) - Spotfests, spotfests, spotfests...quite good match. Kaz won and got into the Main Event taking Angle's place (Angle's doctor prevented him from wrestling on the PPV; before Terrordome began, Cornette shows up and says that the winner takes Angle's spot too as well as the X-Division title shot). Oh, and the cage looked quite poor.
Deuces Wild Tournament (Semifinals 1): Team 3D vs Christian Cage & Rhino (* 1/4) - Meh...
Deuces Wild Tournament (Semifinals 2): LAX vs Super Eric & AJ Sty|es (* 1/2) - At least, LAX won.
Women's Battle Royale & Ladder Match (** 1/2) - Poor Roxxi. Loses to Kim (who got booed thanks to Love and Sky helping her; if Roxxi won, Love was getting shaved), gets her head shaved and busted wide open too. Good segment and match.
Deuces Wild Tournament (Finale): LAX vs Team 3D (** 1/2): Nice story and match. Hopefully LAX can bring back some prestige to it. And Homicide (illegal man) gets the pinfall over Devon. Heh...
Steiner vs Kaz vs Samoa Joe (***): Pretty good match, despite a botched spot between Kaz and Steiner.
All in all, not a good PPV. But TNA seems to save the best for the ending... oh well.

Heh, I'll show you some pics and videos (my Cybershot is dead and the camera I used was a crappy Panasonic SV-AV30, borrowed from my cousin and only good for filming videos due to file size) about the party I attented the Saturday before the month ended. Party was to celebrate the graduation of some Pharmacy students that graduated from my university. F**king awesome party, one of the best I've ever been to.
Here's some links to the videos:

Easily one of the most solid superhero films I've seen in a while. Good casting, not much abuse of the comedy, superb action and effects, and Downey Jr. fits Stark pretty well (I also think Hugh Laurie could have pulled off Stark well, but he lacks the drunk vibe that Downey Jr. gives and makes Stark more believable). After all, he was a drunk and a junkie.
Can't say much about Paltrow, she hasn't been used that well, but she wasn't bad either. Oh... if you go watch it, stay 'til the end of the credits. There's something to make the superhero comic fans mark out. - Posted May 3, 2008 11:37 pm PT

Haven't blogged in a while. Been busy with exams and stuff. Let's check TNA and ROH this time.
TNA Lockdown was okay... as far as every match goes:
Xscape (** 1/4): Pretty good spots, but too much guys in the cage. A letdown was to not develop a feud between Lethal and Dutt ATM of the match.
Queen Of The Cage (* 1/4): In a GLOW match gone bad, Roxxi defeats Angelina Love. Roxxi was pretty over with the crowd. Thing that got on my nerves was that nobody bothered to prevent Love from climbing the cage.
BG James vs Kip James (1/2 *): Yawnfest.
Cuffed In The Cage (* 1/2): Interesting to see Steiner getting cuffed first, pretty logical move. Then the match was a clusterf*ck with LAX and Kaz saving it from being horrible. And that jackass Eric Young shows up and wins the match. I hope he dies a la Owen Hart someday, considering he's got the Super Eric gimmick. I can see Eric Young getting a Superman-like entrance at Slammiversary... wait, let him die at Hard Justice (Slammiversary's way too important to TNA)... the ropes get screwed, he falls and dies. Wouldn't sadden me the least to see him die, just like Orton and Cena. Why aren't the TNA audience booing him?
Women's Tag Team Match (** 3/4): Pretty good match, but that isn't surprising anymore.
Mixed Tag Team Match (* 3/4): Meh... lame ending. Was going decent until the women got involved.
Lethal Lockdown (*** 1/4): Everything went well here until Nash arrived and stunk up the joint. It was still a pretty good match, you can't go bad on Lethal Lockdown with AJ and Cage.
Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe (**** 1/4): Great match (MOTY candidate) with an abrupt ending.
That said, my PPV Ranking goes like this:
1. WrestleMania XXIV
2. No Way Out
3. Final Resolution
4. Lockdown
5. Royal Rumble
6. Against All Odds
7. Destination XI got the ROH Proving Ground [January 11th, 2008] show on my computer. Pretty good show. From the time when AOTF were still Tag Team Champions and haven't jobbed yet to NRC and nowadays the Briscoes are ROH Tag Team Champs again.
Jason Blade and Kenny King defeated Pelle Primeau and Eddie Edwards (***) - Pretty good match to kick off the show. I should really pay more attention to King, he looked pretty good on the match. Had some good spots.
Daizee Haze defeated Alexa Thatcher (* 1/2) - Meh... couldn't give a damn about them.
Claudio Castagnoli defeated Ruckus (** 3/4) - Good match, but I felt that the first match was slightly better. I still can't get into liking Castagnoli, regardless of the praise he gets from the IWC.
Daniel Puder defeated Mikey Bennett (DUD) - Waste of time.
Bryan Danielson defeated Brent Albright (*** 3/4) - Very awesome match. Loved Albright more on this one. Gotta love his pre-match promo and also his act of refusing shaking Danielson's hand after the match. Solid stuff there. The wrestling was great as well.
Kevin Steen defeated Necro Butcher (**** 1/4) - Very good use of the chairs. Pretty nasty at times. Steen getting wrapped with the mats was pretty funny IMO.
Delirious defeated Sal Rinauro (**) - It felt too long for my taste. Rinauro didn't look good. I couldn't give a damn about both guys. Had a few good spots, nothing memorable... I'm sure they had to put a half-assed match to calm the crowd down after Steen-Necro.
Roderick Strong defeated El Generico (** 3/4): Good match. Final minutes were the best part of it.
Erick Stevens defeated Austin Aries to retain the FIP Heavyweight Title (****): Match was a *** 1/4 at best by the time the double countout took place. The **** includes the match restarted thanks to Stevens. Great moves in the restart of the match that made me rank this match higher.
AOTF (Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black) defeated Vulture Squad (Jack Evans & Jigsaw), Hangmen 3 (Brent Albright & BJ Whitmer) and the Briscoes (Jay & Mark Briscoe) to retain the ROH World Tag Team titles in a Ultimate Endurance match (**** 1/4): At the beginning, Mercedes Martinez (who was with the VS) and Lacey (with AOTF) brawled early and ggot outside the place. Bunch of spots from every tag team. After Albright pinned Jigsaw from VS, the No DQ part of the match began. The heels worked on the Briscoes and both faces got their foreheads busted wide open with spikes (Jacbos and Whitmer were about to attack each other, but agreed to take down Jay and Mark), pretty wicked thing. Shane Hagadorn interfered and got his ass kicked anyways. A Jaydriller from Jay + Mark's Frog Splash from the top of a Ladder on Whitmer and bye-bye H3. Normal rules return for the final fall between AOTF and Briscoes. AOTF worked on Jay (Hurricanrrana from Black for a nearfall as well), later Jay frees himself, Mark pops back into the fight. Some "F**k him up, Jacbos, f*ck him up!!" chants were heard. Jay was tossed from the corner into a mid-air DDT from Jacbos, who applies the End Times quickly. Jay overpowered from it, though. Jacobs later received the Doomsday Springboard Device, but Black saved him. Jacobs freed himself of a Jaydriller and connects the Contracode on Jay and Black connects the Phoenix Splash on Jay to retain the Tag Team titles. Damn good match.
Tv.com's newest Samuels (for those who go on the WWE forums): Zhiner. His comments on Joey Sty|es and Adamle... I'd b*tchslap him. Even anyone who has only watched Joey in WWE could tell he's superior than Adamle. I could say Austin Aries performs well a 450 Splash (which WWE's Main Event guys won't perform) only to be replied with "Jillian Hall can do it too, big whoop" (which is a fair reply, but Jillian rarely does it on tv).
On a slightly better topic, my Backlash levels of interest:

Better than WM23. Sorry for the blog delay, but I know you guys wanna hear me.
Finshed watching 'Mania yesterday in its entirety. Let's start...
Battle Royale (* 3/4): Not much to say here, really. Other than Jamie Noble stepping on three wrestlers to get back into the ring and later eliminated by Palumbo (a lol moment) and Kane winning, not much to say here. The obvious would happen later.
John Legend... I don't care. I fast-forwarded.Finlay vs JBL (** 1/4): Too much head shots. JBL winning, meh... it succeeded into getting the crowd pumped, but I couldn't even laugh at JBL attacking Hornswoggle
MITB (****): Liked it. Second best MITB IMO... I marked out for Matt Hardy showing up. Shame he had to job to Boreton on Raw later and the way that match ended. Congratulations WWE and Randy Orton, you killed Matt's momentum and the Twist Of Fate move.
Batista vs Umaga (3/4 *): Other than the "Uh-Uh-Umaga!" chant, I could have cared less about this.
Chavo vs Kane (dud): Lol. Chavo's got the worst of luck. I'm sure this match would have lasted 2 minutes if he didn't went to that live TNA show. If I was Chavo, I'd jump to TNA. Either way, he'll get the same treatment wherever he goes to wrestle.
Flair vs HBK (**** 1/2): Not an extraordinary match by any means, but nonetheless, a very good match, wrestling-wise and worked well in the emotional aspect. Thank God I watched this live in Spanish, made me enjoy the match more than JR and King could. Match's a ****, but rounding it to **** 1/2 for the emotions and the post-match reception with Flair getting his well-deserved ovation. I'm pretty sure Hogan's jealous as hell because he'll never get what Flair got in WM and Raw. If Hogan gets his "last match", he'll go down by burying either HHH, Austin, Rock, Orton or Cena.
BunnyMania (* 1/4): I've learned my lesson now. Playboy Divas = Jobbers. I'm sure those Metapod vs Metapod matches in Pokémon were more exciting than BunnyMania. Yeah...
WWE Title Match (** 3/4): Standard Triple Threat match. For the hype it got, it's really disappointing and tarnishes the WWE Title's value, as if it couldn't get any worse. Botched ending too. I lol'd at Cena's entrance. Not much to say here.
Show vs Mayweather (* 3/4): Meh...
Edge vs Undertaker (****): I liked this match. Pretty good, except for the letdown ending. This is wrestling, not MMA! At the rate Taker's using the Gogoplata, I expect Taker to defend the WHC in Summerslam against Frank Mir or Quinton Jackson.

La Môme (La Vie En Rose) - **** 1/4
Great film, hell of a performance by Marion Cotillard, she really beats the sh*t out of Ellen Page as far as comparing their performances nominated for the Oscars, great make-up job and overall a great film displaying the bio of Edith Piaf.

Amazing performance from Lewis, he was worthy of winning the Oscar for Best Lead Actor, no doubt about it. The movie might begin as a bit boring, but once he finds oil for the first time, things start picking up and the movie develops into something appealing and interesting.
I loved the ending, especially with Plainview having Eli screaming he's a flase prophet and God is a superstition... Eli's death was a great ending to the film.- Posted Mar 13, 2008 10:13 pm PT

Fan-bloody-tastic!! No 5-star rank because of the beach shot having Todd look lame and Bower's singing of Johanna, which was getting into my nerves. Still, great film. Must-buy.- Posted Feb 25, 2008 11:40 pm PT

25Feb 08The Oscars ceremony went well this year. The only times I booed at the tv was when Golden Compass won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects and when the US Troops/Soldiers popped up on a video feed. That sucked donkey balls. Other than that, enjoyable ceremony.
For those who watch the Premiere League and are Arsenal fans... watch the footage of Eduardo's injury. That's pretty sick and it must suck to be Eduardo Da Silva right now. Hopefully he recovers, because he could most likely retire from football.
And because Sylent and enervator like my hatred... I'd like to see Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Claudio Pizarro go through that.
For the wrestling crowd that reads this blog... Triple H broke his quad twice. Imagine him breaking his fibula the way Eduardo got fouled...
Last Friday, I got wasted at my aunt's birthday party. Kidna fun, since I haven't seen two cousins after a long while. Talked about stuff and kept drinking all the night...
Saturday, I did jacksh*t.
Sunday, watched the Oscars and ate chinese food.
I suck at describing my life. I'm more detailed on LiveJournal, though.- Posted Feb 25, 2008 12:04 am PT

My wrestling PPV ranking:
1. No Way Out
2. Final Resolution
3. Royal Rumble
4. Against All Odds2 Movies Seen At The Theaters In 2008:
I Am Legend - ** 3/4
Love In The Time Of Cholera - ** 3/4
No Country For Old Men - ****
Bardem is so awesome in this film, if he doesn't win the Oscar for his Anton Chigurh role, it would be utter bullsh*t. The storyline is well built as the time passes by. I recomend you guys to watch this film.
Quick Short Review of No Way Out
Punk vs Chavo (** 1/2) - 2 stars for the match and half a star goes to the crowd booing Punk for doing the Eddie dance and the Three Amigos. Punk and Eddie knew each other from IWA. But why would the WWE crowd bother to check other wrestling promotions?
SD/ECW Elimination Chamber (**** 1/4) What a Chamber match. MOTY. Easily the second or third best Chamber match I've seen. It started well with Taker and Blow (he did his part well), they got rid fast of BDV and Khali... once Finlay arrives, this turns out to be a hell of a match. The ending was awesome (the way it happened). I hope Finlay gets a World Title reign before he retires, even if it's for two weeks.
Ric Flair vs Mister Kennedy (* 1/2) - Boring match.
Edge vs Rey (* 1/2) - Too short due to the injury... Rey was way over with the crowd.
Noteworthy mention: Prior to the WHT match, Rey meets with Mayweather. The Big Show returns to a huge pop and gets good heel heat by attacking Rey. Mayweather broke Show's nose... we'll probably see the both battling it out at WM XXIV.
Cena vs Orton (** 1/2) - Match itself was ** 1/2, but I added 1/4 due to Cena not winning the title. Felt like watching the Summerslam match they had, but with a different crowd. Both men failed at trying to make me feel any kind of emotion or raise an eyebrow.
Raw Chamber Match (*** 3/4) - Would have gave it a ****, but the abrupt eliminations of Y2J and HBK hurt the match (and that happened a minute after Umaga got eliminated). Final confrontation between Paul and Jeff was meh.
Very good PPV.... got me into finally giving a damn (somewhat) about WrestleMania XXIV.- Posted Feb 18, 2008 1:23 am PT

First, Amy... the only bits that I saw from the Grammy last night was her and one of the black dudes from BEP (will.i.am, I think). The black guy pretty much sucks. Amy's performance from England... she looked too afraid to perform and botched her performance. She looked like she was gonna get eaten alive by the UK crowd. She wins the Grammy for best record. She almost won the big 4. Meh... I hate her Rehab song, mostly because it sounds too annoying, but her other songs are quite good.
And if you didn't know, Winehouse is a wrestling fan, she marks out to Y2J and RVD. She said that meeting RVD was one of the best things in her life. Amy was famous for drug addiction, RVD loves marijuana. Could have been a good couple, lol.
Posted on the ER forum after a LONG time... I'll try watch another episode from S14. Atonement (S14-E13) was good, but not worthy of season finale material. Damn writers strike.
Talking about TNA's Against All Odds... it was okay, but I felt Final Resolution was better.
AJ-Tomko vs BG-Armstrong (*): This match bored me. Half a star for the match itself and the other half star goes to the altercations between AJ and Tomko.
Peyton Banks vs Traci Brooks (* 1/2): Short, but not that bad as the first match... I'm mildly interested in Banks.
Scott Steiner vs Petey Williams (** 1/4): Kinda funny at times and surprisingly a decent match. This would have been a ** 1/2 match if it wasn't for the interference.
Eric Young vs James Storm (**): Ok match. A bit surprised and pleased to see Rhino return, but his mic segment was worth jacksh*t.
Awesome Kong vs ODB (** 1/2): Good match. This should have gone 5 minutes more...
Abyss vs Judas Mesias (* 1/2): Meh... I still don't give a damn about Abyss, but hopefully this feud ends. At least, Judas takes some bumps instead of Abyss taking the bumps all the time. Wished for Mitchell to go through the barbed wire, but not. That's sad, because it would have meant extra points in my star rating for the match.
Robert Roode vs Booker T (* 1/4): Kinda boring and with a silly ending.
MCMG-Lethal vs Team 3D-Devine (*** 1/4) Pretty good match right there, loved how they used Lethal on this. I would have rated the match higher if it wasn't for using So Cal Val too much.
Kurt Angle vs Christian Cage (****): Very good match, better than the one from the last PPV. The interference was pretty much expected, so it didn't hurt the match a lot. Loved the nearfalls on this one.

2. Royal Rumble

8Feb 08My PC got fixed... the problem was the power supply got screwed. Thankfully, nothing happened to the motheboard.
Other than that, I haven't seen Cloverfield yet, but I need to catch up with wrestling. As for the past month goes, this is all I've seen:
TNA: Final Resolution and the two TNA episodes after that PPV as well as the Angle-Nagata match. The PPV was just barely better than the Royal Rumble and the two episodes were okay.
WWE: Watched the first Raw and SD! episode of 2008, the Rumble PPV and that was it. I saw nothing else.
Sounds like I'm becoming less interested in wrestling lately... oh well...- Posted Feb 8, 2008 3:17 pm PT
