Not too much substance in this blog this evening.

Just wanted to let you all know that I reached 50,000 GamerScore this morning. The game that got me over the hill was Contra. I've had the game for the longest time and I decided to actually play it today to see what it had to offer. It definitely brought back some memories but I kinda wish it was the NES version.

Anyway....all celebrations deserve something sweet to eat. Help yourself to some delicous cookies.

My husband and I were looking through the Wii Virtual Console to find something to use the extra 500 points that I had left over on my account. We came to the conclusion to get Super Mario Bros. 3 since both of us loved it when we were younger. Once my son was finished watching TV he came out to join us and he was amazed by the game. He played for an hour before I had to kick him off.

I guess I am surprised that he enjoys the original Nintendo games so much. Most kids I talk to don't want to be bothered with older games. I guess I have a little retro gamer in the making .

I only have a few VC games so far. I would love to hear some recommendations from you all as to what VC games I should download so my not only I can play but my son can play as well.

I really am excited about these games. I've never been the one to really use PSN or XBLA but these games all look promising and they are in my price range right now!!!

August is here and the end of the summer is quickly approaching. All of us can breath a sigh of relief now since the summer gaming drought is now over. From this month all the way throughout the holiday season there are going to be a boat load of games coming out. I thought I would inform you of the games that I plan on getting this month.

August 12th

I honestly can't remember if I gave you all my impressions on the Too Human demo but to make a long story short I will just say that I love it. Using the right analog stick to shoot felt a little wierd at first but I'm a fan of it now. Since I've gottten the hang of the controls I've been able to pull off some sick combos. 10 days away!!!!! Hopefully it will live up to all the hype.

August 31st

The first Mercenaries is definitely a game that I want to go back and play since I enjoyed it so much when it came out. After watching the E3 stage demo, I cannot wait any longer for this game to be released. Not only does it look spectacular but it also seems like it is going to be a blast to play.

I was going to buy this game yesterday when I stopped by Gamestop since I was in the mall. The only reason why I didn't buy it is because I am knee deep in The World Ends With You right now. I don't think I will be able to manage 2 RPG's at once. Once I'm done with TWEWY I'll be making the trip to buy this game.

This was another game that I was thinking about getting yesterday but I decided not to. I really want this game but I told myself I need to beat the other Ratchet and Clank game I have for the PSP first. I've heard some great things about this game and I can't wait to get it. Definitely looks like a must have for fans of the series.

What games are you guys looking forward to this month?

Early this morning before I began to get ready to head back to work I wanted to play a game for a little bit. I've been playing Condemned 2 and Tomb Raider Anniversary lately but I didn't want to fire either of those games up since they are more story driven and I only had about 15 minutes to actually play.

So I checked out my XBLA games and launched Geometry Wars Evolved. When I first got my 360 I was constantly playing this game just because it looked really cool in HD and it was fun. The only problem I have with the game is that it is way too hard.....for me. After playing it the for 15 minutes this morning I didn't want to put the controller down. Now I am addicted to the game.

The sad part is that I can't really explain this addiction. I want to rack up the points and get a great high score and also get more achievements out of it since they are ridiculously hard to get. But for the life of me I can't get past 200,000 points.

I guess my question how do you become skilled in Geometry Wars Evolved? If any of you have any tips or secrets let me know. It's driving me crazy.

EDIT: After looking at this picture I must tell you how much I hate those snake thingys. They are so annoying and hard not to run into.

Funny thing is that after I shot this video my brother came over bearing gifts. He thinks I need to brush up on my cooking so he bought me Cooking Mama for the Wii. My son and I have been been playing it and its pretty fun. I still prefer the DS version better though.

What up GameSpot!!!!!

The past couple of days have been crazy....not a bad crazy but a good crazy. I got got married yesterday and I can understand why people say it is one of the best days of your life. I had a blast and would do it again in a heartbeat. As soon as I get my pictures the SD card with the pictures on them I will post a few.

Now that I got that out of the way, I've just been hanging out today. I took my son to the IMAX theater to see The Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D. I was actually hating on this movie but it turned out to be pretty good. Not to mention the fact that every thing is cooler in 3D.

I've been kinda bummed by the fact that I've got to go back to work on Monday. I hate to see it come to an end but duty calls....I just wish that I could have more time off .
