Level 31 + Heart Gold/Soul Silver European release rumour

    Hi everyone,

Unless anything major happens in the next couple of days this will be my last blog before Christmas day. I'll hopefully post a blog on Christmas day if I have time to let you know what I got and to say merry christmas.

As for this blog, I have reached level 31 - Ippon.

Ippon is apparently a reference to the first arcade martial-arts game, Karate champ.

In other news it is rumoured that the European release date for Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver might be March 26th which is earlier than I expected so I'm not sure how believable it is. Hopefully Nintendo will clarify the date soon.

    Happy holidays.

My top 10 most anticipated games of 2010

    Hi everyone,

Another year is drawing to a close and very soon it will be 2010. I'll look back at gaming in 2009 with my awards in early January once I've played through the DS games I get at Christmas but for now it's time to look ahead to next year.

Below is a list of the 10 games I am most looking forward to next year, let me know what you think and why not reveal your most anticipated games for next year too.

    10. Endless Ocean 2

The first game is an underrated gem on Wii and the sequel promises to improve upon it in every way.

    9. Lego Harry Potter

Lego Star Wars: The complete saga is one of my favourite games of all time and whilst Lego Indiana Jones disappointed and Lego Batman didn't interest me Lego Harry Potter is looking very appealing.

    8. No More heroes 2

No More Heroes is possibly the craziest game on Wii and that's what makes it so great. No More Heroes 2 is set to expand upon the story and combat and offer a much lengthier game so it's shaping up nicely.

    7. Monster Hunter 3

If the online play is free in the west then Monster Hunter 3 could have me hooked for a long time.

    6. Red Steel 2

I've still only got one game for my Wii Motion Plus and that's Virtua Tennis 2009 but Red Steel 2 is looking like being the perfect reason to get it out again with some exhilarating sword play.

    5. Okamiden

Okami is one of the best games ever and that's a fact. I never expected to see a sequel but this DS follow up is looking very good. If more info is revealed it could move even higher up the list.

    4. Metroid: Other M

Samus is returning somewhat to her roots in this latest game but still incorporating the best features o the Prime games so it should be a cracker.

    3. Super Mario Galaxy 2

The best platformer I've ever played is getting an unexpected follow-up and whilst more of the same would hardly b e a bad thing you can expect Miyamoto and Nintendo to somehow make an even better game.

    2. Zelda Wii

Hardly anything is known about the new Zelda yet and still myself and countless others are chomping at the bit to play it. E3 2010 can't come soon enough to learn more.

    1. Pokemon Soul Silver

On Christmas day 2001 I received my first Nintendo console, a Game Boy Colour and along with that I got Pokemon Silver. The family already had a PS1 but Pokemon Silver was the game that really got me hooked on gaming. The remake promises more of the same and much more besides and when it is finally released the nostalgia will be hard to top.

    Thanks for reading.

    Spirit Tracks is now mine

    Hi everyone,

Yesterday my pre-ordered copy of The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks arrived. The figurines that came in the special edition are cool and the tin is nice and sturdy. I don't know when I'll get round to playing it however because first I have to wait until Christmas to get my DS and then I actually have to clear Phantom Hourglass. It's something to very much look forward to though.
