It has been a long time since I played a "real" game in my pc. That's it a game that doesn't belong to Facebook or a Smartphone or anything of the like. No, I mean a PC or console game. I bought a new video card and was thinking about what to play in my pc. Looking at the new games I decided to play Left 4 Dead.
Left 4 Dead is a survival shooter game (or whatever you call them now). You choose between 4 characters with the only difference being their personalities and looks. I played with my brother. It was a very, very fun experience. I highly recommend it. Killing horde after horde of zombies never gets old. It gets a little annoying but only because you lose lots of ammo. I also played the sequel Left 4 Dead 2, with the only big difference being the melee weapons that are very OP. Knife = WIN. You're practically immortal with a knife. Of course now the game had more annoying enemies too (Jockers, anyone?), but that didn't affect the fun-fact of the game. I also recommend it.
Next I decided to play something a little different. Borderlands is like Diablo, except that it's a first person shooter. I played it with my brother in LAN and we enjoyed it a lot. It was fun, a little repetitive and sometimes annoying with the robots that kept spawning and those Circle of something that always kicked my ass. I played with Mordecai (the sniper guy) and my brother played with Lilith (the siren, elemental chick), so he stayed in the middle of everyone while I was shooting them from far away. Good times.
After that I saw that there was a sequel. So I got my hands on Borderlands 2. Again I played with a sniper guy, an android or robot or weirdly unemotional sarcastic guy called Zero, but my brother decided to play with the Gunzerker (I forgot his name). Same strategy as before. He was in the middle of everything, I was shooting from far away. Now as for the game, it was the same as the first, except I actually cared about the story (I didn't care in the first one) and there were some new enemies that were even more annoying that in the first game: I hate those invisible creatures! But, again, fun experience.
After all the shooters we had played, we had to play another one, just because. And for some reason, we chose to play Resident Evil 5... Yeah... Now, RE5 isn't a bad game. If it wasn't called Resident Evil it would have been a decent game, I mean you play in co-op, there are actions that you can do with your partner and there isn't anything wrong or spectacular about the feeling of the game. Ok, it's not scary, nor does it inflict fear. In fact I found it very funny: Falcon punching women was amazing! Joking aside, I guess I understand why people doesn't like it, one of them being that it's not scary and you shoot, well, "black" people or indians... But as a game I insist is not that bad. I hadn't finished it, so maybe I haven't seen the worst or the best the game can offer.
Next time I plan to finish playing Crysis and of course, wait for the Borderlands 2 DLCs. Yeah... more shooters... To be honest, I didn't use to like the shooter genre, I though that it was you killing stuff without a story to back it up. But after playing Mass Effect (all of them, even the third) I decided to give them a chance.
Anyway, that's for today. Glad to be back in Gamespot![]()
