My Top Ten Games - My Joint 1st Place Game

Yes I know I'm onto 7 but I'm saving that one for tomorrow.

Tombi! (aka Tomba!) and its sequel

I frigging love this game. I love it so much I cropped up in GamesTm (A British game magazine) issue #90 to talk about it.

I couldn't find a place anywhere on here other than joint 1st. I'll definitely carry on with 7 tomorrow, and of course, the other number 1 is still a mystery... WoooOOoooOOooHooooOOOooOOOoo.

(I'll try and put the article up soon)

(The sequel is too awesome as well. It's a game you have to play to understand)

My Top Ten Games - #8

    Rocket Knight Adventures

Rocket Knight Adventures for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis is one of those underrated and underappreciated games that picks up momentum long after its initial release. Thanks to the staggering plethora of cute animal platformers around at the time this got severely overlooked. But if you look past the absolutely cool looking possum Sparkster you'll find a genuinely well made platformers. What makes this game brilliant is that no two levels are ever alike. One minute it's a traditional side scroller, the next a side scrolling shooter, and one ingenious level requires you to look at the river's surface for platformers since the top is obscured. It's a game that constantly keeps on giving and what's also admirable is how Konami managed to make such a diverse instantly acessible thanks to its no fuss controls. You only have the D-Pad and one button for jumping and the other for your sword, yet there's so much you can do. And the fact that this long forgotten series is getting an upgrade downloadable release next year makes me very happy indeed. There are sequels, but none of them match the original.
