Not Done One in a While so....

Been a while since I posted a blog, but thought I'd write something real quick before I go off to bed and sleep though most of Saturday. Well, currently I'm looking for a job so i can get myself some upgrades to my PC. I want four new shiny gigs of ram to replace my 512mb. That's going to cost about 60 pounds if I buy the ram specific to my exact pc model, which I will.

Then I want myself a nice new graphics card to replace my paltry 32mega byte one. Yup 32 mb. Pretty sucky. I want at least 512, so i may have to upgrade my pc's power supply to compensate for heat produced by such an advance. Then I'll be able to play all my current pc library optimised. Basically I want to upgrade my pc so it eventually runs Dragon Age Origins at pretty much full spec or does the same for Fallout 3. A nice new sound card and Hard drive would not go amiss too, maybe even a new disk drive, who knows, or new operating system. I may go nuts and just spend the next year or two tinkering, kind of a hobby within a hobby.

Game wise I've been playing GTA3 a lot on PC and I'm currently doing a lot of side quests. Ambulance missions are the only real chore as you have to do all twelve levels in one go to hundred percent the game, which means rescuing 70+ people without the ambulance exploding or without me being gunned down by triads that now shoot on site; something to do with me blowing up three of their laundry vans or something. Great game.

Sport wise, Green Bay are having a typically hit and miss season. One minute they suck and the Bengals beat them, the next minute they go off and whoop Dallas. Go figure. My home football (soccer) team are doing no better, though we shouldn't get relegated hopefully.

Also, I may sound like an old grump, but I hate the way we have to put up with adverts for christmas from the end of October and if you moan about it people say "it's christmas" as if that's a bloody answer for everything. I'd like to see the church advertise on tv and let people know that the true meaning of christmas has been lost in a deluge of capitalist greed as merchants seek to profit from our sense of good will. Wankers.

    Curse of the Internet Wobblies

Maybe it's my PC, but I doubt it has become so slow overnight and I have no virus. My internet supplier is Virgin and they can be pretty naff sometimes and It just seems to take forever to load up pages on some of my fave sites - ie here and facebook. Really annoys me when you pay for a service and it is not delivered.

Anyway, enough of the moaning. I should really get a gold membership soon so I can do a few things I promised to do with people, but It's just finding the spare cash at the moment. To alleviate that I should really look for some work. I know!

I'm in two minds over the new Halo game - I'm not sure I like the way damage turns the screen redder as you get more wounded. Plus, surely now with that disk providing all the old Halo maps, they could make them free to download for Halo 3 owners? Guess not.

Finished Mass Effect the other day and the game is really awesome. I'm going to play through again a few times to pick up all the achievements I don't currently have. There goes another 120 hours of my life. Good job I bought the other half Guitar Hero for the DS to keep her sweet.

Anyway, Green Bay are back to winning form after a humiliating defeat to the Bengals the other week, so all is good (plus I beat my housemate in our NFL fantasy league so I get bragging rights).

    Take it eay peeps.

    Be Lucky!

    I Need Me Time

This post is a little down in nature but rather than contact the individuals in question I feel it is easier to say what I have to say here and get on with things after the fallout. Hopefully the fallout will be minimal as I like you all. Basically I want some time to myself and I find that I'm not able to do all the things I want to at home, play my xbox, read, study, spend quality time with Laura and my friends and family etc, plus try to find work and play a guitar I own and have barely picked up and still be a massive contributor to these forums.

So, effective immediately I've decided to prune away all but one of my unions and remain active in just that one as it is my favourite and probably the most active one I am in. Therefore to DMR, Jedi or Dragonfly and Skatman, I'm afraid I'll have to resign my positions in your unions to concentrate on my input in the Console Generations Union. Please do not feel bad in any way that I have to leave and please I hope your unions carry on well without me. I hope to see you all at the Console Generations Union as I think it is a great union with some really good people there (you know who you are), so, DMR, Jedi, I know you are members, lets keep in touch there and Skatman, see you on the boards or online (if you have a 360).

I'm hoping to soon here back from Rockstar games on a brighter note as I've applied to be a games tester at the branch in my home town.
