My wife has been trying to get me to start playing The Sims 2. It's probably a good idea, but I'm really a strategy game type guy. I've been interested in Spore ever since I heard about it and now after having watched the Developer Interview on 2/13, I think I'm even more interested in it. It sems the development team is really putting time into making Spore a expansive community integrated game. The game seems to have the potential to become my new hobby.

I just watched the 3rd Official Trailer for MySims. It's looking pretty cool. This might be the killer game I was looking for.

Of late, I've been watching a lot of Asian cinema with my wife. I'm especially enchanted with the Korean television series, Jumong. Unfortunately, I can't find it on TV.com, so I can't add it to my profile. I'm hoping that they'll add it soon as the first 20 episodes are now on DVD. Perhaps I'll post more about it here on my blog. Or at least links to more information about it.

Well, I've been looking for a reason to get back into gaming. StarCraft II is definitely a good reason!

Played more "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty," today. Today, I made it over to the Shell 2 core. What an exciting time it was getting there. The movies are just seriously kick ass in this game - even for being a couple of years old.

I have to say, it took me quite a bit of time to figure out how to drag one of the guards over to the retinal scanner. Don't have the time tonight to post how I did it. One thing I wish I could have done was record it on my ReplayTV so I could actually post a video of it. I'm looking forward to having $99 to spare put into a video splitter so I can actually do that.

Anyways, like I said, MGS2 is awesome. Although I feel bad for not having played it earlier, I'm glad I'm finally playing it. Perhaps I'm enjoying it more now than I would have before, because I have a lot less stress in my life right now and therefore don't feel as guilty when I'm playing games.

I'm really enjoying playing "MGS: Sons of Liberty." Actually, I've been up in Billerica, MA, just outside of Boston most of this week. I came back home Thursday night. Worked most of Friday and then spent Friday night and most of today with my wife. I'm playing MGS this evening.

Yesterday, we watched Battlestar Gallactica. The two new episodes were awesome! I find it rather interesting just how much what's going on in BSG loosely parallels life in the real world.

Now that I'm back to playing MGS, I'm really starting to enjoy it. I think it was ingenious how the developers made it possible to disguise yourself as one of the enemy so that you could get through the Shell 1 Core. The fact that you have to be dressed as one of the enemy AND equiping the same weapon is incredible depth to the game. I'm really looking forward to progressing.

Shouts out to the game FAQ writers, too, 'cause I'd've missed some weapons and items if it weren't for them. Now if I can just figure out how to pick up the book.

Been playing "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty" most of the week. I've had the game for a while, but kept stalling on playing. Since I'm on vacation this week, I started playing again. It's been rather fun now that I understand things a little better. I'm glad I read the game guide on Gamespot. Just goes to show that "knowing is half the battle."

I went ahead and bought Tourist Trophy last week. I've played it a couple of times this week. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough space on my memory card, so I couldn't save. However, I left the PS2 running so I could save when I finally went out and bought a new memory card.

I tell you. I really like this game. It's exciting. Especially when you play with the display where you see the windshield of the bike. I don't like the chase view or the on the road view. I never like the chase view. But the on the road view doesn't give you an appreciation for the angle of your bike.

Anyways, I've done a couple of arcade races. I'm hoping to put a little time into sim mode this weekend. I guess I have to start out with getting the licenses...

This is making me think I should really try to figure out how to use XLink Kai so I can play some folks online. :-)

Finally got through mission 17. That mission really made me wish I could record my gameplay. Oooo, if only I had a video/audio splitter...

I had tried the mission like 4 times already. Each time I had two F-14 Tomcats and two F-15 Eagles. I would like to have had 4 Falcons, but didn't have the credits to purchase that many. Anyways, I wasn't having much luck with shooting down the Stealth fighters that kept coming in. Then I remembered that each plane had a secondary set of weapons (you see, it's been quite some time since I last played the game...). Once I activated the secondary weapons for my F-14, I made quick work of the Stealth fighters.

In case you don't know, the Stealth fighters had come into our territory hoping to bomb a national pep rally being held in a local football stadium. Our job was to keep the stadium from being bombed. Amazingly, after 6 tries, I succeeded in protecting the stadium AND not being shot down.

That mission was very challenging and lots of fun!

I've had this game since Xmas, but I reallly just started playing it in hernest until last week. Now that I'm getting the hang of moving around, I'm really starting to like the game. Playing it on a small screen like the PSP's is a little difficult, but it's managable. It took a while to get adjusted to manuevering in the vehicles, but I think I'm starting to manage that okay, also. Still haven't gotten used to all the various weapons and items, yet. Looking forward to getting used to them so I can produce some serious rampages. I really like this game. I'm thinking about getting it for the PS2 so I can take advantage of the bigger screen.

This morning, I finally beat "The Battle of Chang Ban" in Dynasty Warriors for PSP. I took the most direct route possible, because I realized that no matter what I do, I'm always going to be running low on supplies by the time that I get to the enemy base camp.

I'd still be struggling if I hadn't read the game manual, again, last night. Learning about how the Musou attach works when you are low on life was invaluable. Knowing how to keep a watch on my supplies and my troups morale was also helpful. I still haven't gotten a hang on keeping a read on fighting spirit. I hadn't read that part of the manual, yet, though, so what can I expect!

Anyways, I have a lot of officers in my camp that I recognize from "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" series. I hope Koei decides to do a PSP version of that game. It'd be cool if they did a real-time version of the game, also. Or they could do a real-time version of Kessen (which I have not played, yet).

I've been having problems with "The Battle of Chang Ban" for two or three weeks now. It took me a really long time to figure out why I was losing so much. I had even attached the enemy's base camp once. It looks like I've been running out of supplies each time.

For the life of me, I didn't know how to keep track of all the resources and morale and all that kind of stuff. I just happened to be doing nothing, this night (while handing over the responsibilities of keeping up with the finances to my wife), I picked up the manual to the game and started reading it.

WOW!!! I wish I would have read the manual sooner. I think I'll be able to keep better track of things. I'll also be able to better defend myself!

Hooray!!! I finally beat the second battle of Dynasty Warriors for the PSP! Lu Bu kept kicking my butt. This time, I found a way around him and went straight for Dong Zhuo. He's really fat and was pretty easy to beat. So I actually moved on to the next batle. It took me two weeks to findally beat...

One thing that I've noticed is that your character seems to be reset back to Level 1 when you enter each new battle. Something about that just doesn't seem fair. I mean I was up to level 8 when I beat battle # 2. I had a really cool spear also. I don't have either of those advantages in the new battle, however. So I'm struggling again. It just a'int right!

I started playing Dynasty Warriors on my PSP last night. The first experience was 15 minutes long. Today, I played for an hour. It's starting to grow on me. I'm not really sure of what all I'm doing. I haven't gotten into any of the advanced moves, yet, but I'm hoping to. I've seen some of the special attacks other characters can do. One character walked up to me and, using magic i guess, levitated me off the ground allowing other soldiers to swat at me.

So far, I think the game is very entertaining. The soundtrack is really awesome. I think I might want to try my hand at Dynasty Warriors 5 now that I've come to understand Dynasty Warriors a little better. Gamespot's review gave me some good information on the game that helped me, also.

I've been playing GT4 for a couple of weeks, now. I'm lovin' it!

I've been foolin' around with taking in-game pics and posting them to the web. Take a look at what I've posted so far if you get a chance.

My wife's mother, aunt and nephew visited us over the weekend. I couldn't believe it, but our nephew really spanked me in arcade mode several times! Boy, was I surprised! Once I got used to his driving style, I started beating him, though. Children learn, eventually, that you can't just hold the button down and turn. He was doing good as I was giving him advice, though. It was good to have him up.
