I have seen so many pictures of devastation lately with the floods, earthquakes and other fates imposed by nature. It always seems so far away. I GET IT NOW!!
We had tons of rain here over the weekend and the small town I live in is hanging by a thread. Yesterday the dam threatened to break. This means flooded roads, water everywhere and evacuations. I live two blocks from the evacuation area. Some dear friends live in it. They are now my housemates. I am blessed to be Jesus' hands now - cooking, washing, helping and most important loving. I do what I can while we watch the water and listen for news.
Last night we biked through the area and watched friends and neighbors fill and stack sandbags. Watched firemen and police direct traffic, help with evacuations - all bone tired. Watched restaurants deliver food for tired volunteers. It's home to me now and it's almost surreal.
But I will never see another news report of a flood quite the same.
There but for the grace of God.

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Just occupied with life in general - it's many ups and many downs. I have loved catching up on everyone else's blogs and seeing what is new.
Life took over and I couldn't even keep up around here. Busy with good friends, family, teaching and everything!! Funny how you always think you will have time in your day for so much and you turn around and months have passed.
That brings to mind Kenny Chesney's new song "Don't Blink" - amazing how true it is. I am trying to stop and take a look around these days and figure out all I have lost sight of. The god of 'busyness' can take it's toll.
I am getting through a rough patch right now and with the help and strength of friends I will survive. Want to share these words with you all "I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." Never take anyone for granted....ever.

Just in a happy mood so this will probably not even make sense. I am having one of those days where I am feeling joyful for no particular reason. Maybe because...
My Wisconsin basketball team is #2 in the country and we kicked Michigan's butt the other night.
I had more fun watching the game at the bar with my friends the other night than I have had in months.
Criminal Minds is going to be on after the Superbowl and it rocks.
It's sunny out.
I finally have an icon I like.
My CSI:NY friends post the most awesome pics and rock the world.
I feel as if God is truly smiling on me and He has made me realize that all the tough times are truly worth staying faithful for. Don't need to give details, just let me say that I now understand what He has been trying to teach me for years.

Yeah 2007 is here and I am in serious withdrawel for my shows and the men. I am ranting because I cannot take it anymore. Here's a few wishes for my friends.
Kas-A criminal minds story that gives you lots of background, intensity and thoughts of Hotch.
CSI:NY friends-Some real Danny/Lindsay moments by season end. Plus, Lindsay's deep, dark secret. (and maybe some more shots of our men with less clothes)
Numb3rs fans-Don finding out more about himself and hopefully becoming able to develop a real relationship (I'll be happy to star in that role). And for those that want it a real love story for Charlie and Amita.
Thank goodness there is new Numb3rs tonight. I can't take the wait. Let my wishes come true.

Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone. It's been very fun the past few months here and I love all my new friends. Have to say my favorite moments of the Holiday so far have been:
1) The Nutcracker - last Friday I got to attend opening night - live orchestra, cast of 180, three guest artists from the NY ballet. A night of pure magic, I could not express to you how awesome, intense and beautiful it was.
2) Children's Program at church - as part of the Drama Team I was up front and there is nothing sweeter than watching Preschoolers dressed up as sheep singing 'Away In the Manger'.
I love everything about the season and have found myself in my usual joyous Christmas state giving lots of hugs and singing to myself often.
I hope you all find wonder and joy in whatever you celebrate this season. Looking forward to spending 2007 with you all. Thanks friends.

It's cold, windy, raining and I think it will be snowing by nightfall. How is this possible when it was sixty degrees and sunny yesterday? Just want to go on about the current tv season. CSI:NY good as always, but, this week left a bit to be desired. Thank goodness for Danny. Criminal Minds - totally rocks, Elle was ticking me off, so I am now glad she is gone. Studio 60 was picked up for the season so Yeah! Numb3rs is awesome and I just realized I have to go set my VCR for tonight since I am going to the UW Hockey Game - probably in earmuffs, mittons and a huge winter coat! Hugs to all my dear friends. Prayers are going out to those who need them - you know who are! Current favorite song - Sweetly Broken by Jeremy Riddle. One more thing - I have reached 400 posts!

Yes, I have been a corpse. I arrived home Friday night around 7:30. My body ached everywhere and I could not get warm. By 8:00 I was in the warmest pj's available, under three quilts and an electric blanket and dying. I fell asleep at 8:30. Awakening at 9:05 I could barely hear my beloved Numb3rs on TV. I raise my head to go set a VCR but could not move, I knew I was in trouble. The next 36 hours were spent in a comatose trance moving only to scrounge for cold medicine, massive doses of advil and cough medicine. When things really got bad I went to the kitchen for ice packs for my head. Around noon Sunday I was able to emerge. Looking in the bathroom mirror I was stopped cold. My hair was in every direction imaginable achieving a look and texture I hope never to see again. My skin was a color I have never seen on a human and someone drew black circles around my eyes. I was so dehydrated you could see veins on my forehead...I'll stop now for the squeamish. But I will offer the guest spots I could have portrayed:

I have lost my mind, and Numb3rs has taken over. I watched last weeks episode three times so far. Can't wait for tonight. How have I lost it? I have been substitute teaching this week and everytime I get to math I am instantly transformed to a world occupied by the mind of Charlie Eppes. I start thinking all kinds of strange thoughts. Will I ever be normal? Let's hope my other favs don't take over or I'll be profiling students and analyzing hallways. HELP!

Is it just me or does waiting for the premieres suddenly seem impossible? I just can't seem to handle it anymore. Last night I rewatched Criminal Minds & CSI:NY - saw lots I missed the first time around but now I'm going insane. It must be because everythings only days away. Someone help me make it through the next week. I am becoming a serious addict to my three loves - Numb3rs, CSI:NY & Criminal Minds. Where is the nearest support group!?!?!?
