In loving memories of Derek Reese.
Beloved brother of Kyle, beloved uncle of John.
Single gunshot wound to the head.
You've been through so much and there's still so much to do.
The journey will continue on without you.
But you are missed by many, Derek.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
In all seriousness, I can't believe they actually killed off Derek... like that. That's just ridiculous. Of all the people that should have died last night, it should have been Savannah or some other minor characters. But not Derek. He has so much potential and his story is not over yet. The story arcs have since improved a lot with Derek's appearance. I never thought they'd be stupid enough to get rid of a main character... like that.
Derek didn't even get a chance to fight or defend himself. He rounded a corner in Weaver's house and ran into the new terminator. And before he could draw his gun, he was shot point blanc in the forehead. Effing ridiculous. A character of Derek's caliber should have gone out in a blaze of glory, with buildings and cars exploding in the background all the while trying to save John. That's how it should have gone down.
I've never been so effing pissed off at a show before, so this is a first for me.

Find songs that have been played on Life (NBC). This isn't a complete list, but it is very thorough and it's growing.

Episode 4.06
Another awesome installment. I expect nothing less from the Supernatural team. With the exception of the black and white episode, that was a little out of character. But overall, this season has been one hell of a ride. Let's keep the intensity of these episodes coming.
The Surprise:
So at the end of tonight's episode there's this hilarious clip of Jensen lip syncing to "Eyes of the Tiger." It's awesome. I've already seen the clip at least 10 times, but I can't get enough of it. If you haven't seen it, check it out.
Enjoy: Surprise

LIFE is on tonight at 10:00/9:00 pm on NBC.
Word on the online blogging street is that tonight is the "make it or break it night" for LIFE. A show this good deserves a strong following, unlike other NBC crap. So save LIFE. Please tune in if you can.
Episode 2.05: Crushed
"Crews and Reese investigate a man that has been found crushed to death in a wrecking yard. When they go talk to his fiance they find that the man was involved in an online love triangle. Now they must figure out who is who because everyone is hiding behind a fantasy character. Crews continues investigating Jack Reese's involvement in the murder that he was falsely convicted of."
The conspiracy theory moving along quite well and The Wall is back.
If anything, watch it for the Zen. Or for Dani Reese.
Also, Season 1 is out on DVD.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles
I had every intention of tuning in and following this show from start to finish. Every intention. But things came up, my studies got in the way, the GRE ate up all my time, grad school applications couldn't wait, I moved to a new place, the writers' strike happened. Things came up. So I missed the whole first season, but thanks to TV.com I'm all caught up now.
Personally I thought Season ONE was pretty awesome for TV standard. I don't understand what people, as well as critics, are complaining about. The quality of writing and production is above average. Everyone knows that every show got screwded last season because of the writers' strike. This series is no exception. They did what they could to wrap up a workable storyline that leaves room to make a better second season.
Lena Headey's version of Sarah Connor is believable--I feel her pain whenever she narrates. Although she has a strong presence, she needs to take the anxiety down a level. No one can be that highstrung all the time. Thomas Dekker fills his role as the angsty teenage John Connor just fine, though sometimes he can be a bit annoying and moody. He needs to be more involved in his own salvation. Summer Glau as a terminator is truly remarkable--now this is acting. You could literally see the machine in her becoming more human with every episode. I'm still confused about the Reese Brothers (Derek and Kyle) storyline and the whole time-travel incontinuity thing.
Season TWO picked up where Season ONE left off. It gives the audience just enough to keep them hanging on without forcing unnecessary drama and explosions on them. From what I saw the season premiere definitely has potential to move the story arc in very interesting directions. Skynet is growing and the Connors are still at a disadvantage, but that might change because... of lots of reasons.
I'm very excited for tomorrow: Automatic for the People (2.02).

Episode 2.03: Trust Me
Great installment. Awesome story line. Interesting client problems.
1. The Westen family dynamic is getting better, less forced and awkward like before.
2. The "Carla" mystery is slowly unraveling. I mean it's really, really s l o w.
3. Michael and Fiona can't be a part, but they also can't be together. So what is up with that?

Michael: *deep in thought...*
Think, Michael, think.

While Kripke promises that Dean won't become a demon, he does mention that the season will feature an ongoing mystery regarding what happened to him in Hell. His time away from the world will also have a massive impact on his relationship with Sam. "We'll slowly unfold Dean remembering what happened in Hell, and that will drastically affect their relationship," he teased. "Dean is basically a POW coming home from the worst hellhole - literally - ever. How do you reconnect with your life when you've been through something that horrific? That becomes one of his issues. But don't worry, he's still the same smart ass he always was."
This is precisely why I'm so looking forward to Season 4. Thank you, Eric Kripke! Heaven, hell, angels, and religion will be discussed along with glimpses of the afterlife. This is all I ever wanted from a television drama. I really hope the SN team make good on their promise to flesh out prime aspects of religion. This will certainly set SN a part from all those other medical or detective shows on primetime TV. And I can't wait to see the work in action!
Funny picture I found while searching for Season 4 interviews:

Hahaha! This sort of humor never gets old...

New episode: Turn and Burn (2.02)
Tricia Helfer as "Carla," Michae's mysterious yet demanding (and a bit annoying) new handler

I'm not feeling the "chemistry" between Michael and Carla.

Season 2 just kicked off a few hours ago. If you missed it, don't worry. USA will show it again and again and again till the next episode airs.
Episode 2.01: Breaking and Entering
Decent season premiere. I was expecting more things to blow up, but I can wait till next week.
Anyway, the Season One DVD set is out.

So word on the street is that there are only 4 more episodes of Supernatural and then that's it for this season. I'm kind of disappointed. I wanted them to wrap it up with 22 eps, but looks like that's not happening.
Kripke has said that SN is looking good for season 4. Hopefully this means it doesn't have to fight tooth and nail at the end of this season, which is always a plus.
* * * * *
Mystery Spot: loved it! Another awesome episode. Just when I thought Supernatural was getting light-hearted, it showed the audience what the world would look like without Dean. I hate to say this, but Sam without Dean is... effing disturbing.
Jus in Bello: Good episode, just good. The exorcism was really interesting, but that's about it. This episode didn't do much for me. They killed Hendrickson... and the virgin. I liked him, I was about to like her too... but they got axed. The new leader of the demon world is a little girl... I don't know how I feel about this yet. This idea could either be really scary/creepy or just plain dull.
I'm beginning to like Ruby more and more with every episode. This character actually interesting has the potential to become something big, provided she survives the end of this season. As much as I like Ruby now, I still hate Bela as much as before. What is the point of this character? She's so juvenile. I get it that she's a "bump in the road" for the Winchesters, but it's getting ridiculous... give them back their gun. I mean, The Colt.

Any other news I don't know about? Please add.

This episode was so good, it gave me chills... especially at the end.
Dean vs. Dean--it doesn't get any better than this in the Supernatural realm. This is probably, by far, the best dialogue this season.
I was a little uneasy about the beginning of this season because it didn't deliver on its promises. I expected big things right from the beginning, but it fell short with the Rubela tangents. I didn't like the new characters and they killed off Gordon and the story lines were a little lacking in quality, blah, blah, blah... but this episode has changed my mind completely. It's like THE thing I've been waiting for ever since last fall.
Any thoughts? Anything more to add?

This must be one of the creepiest picture in SN.

I just want to know what everyone else is watching tonight (Jan. 31 @ 9:00 pm).
I wasn't planning on watching either because I have plans tonight. But after reading this new interview with Kripke, I just can't leave him hanging. We're been through so much together--those roller coaster surges of emotional suspense at the end of every season, our dedication to our show, our fight for survival every Thursday night, that nail-biting tension we have every time we check the ratings Friday morning. I just can't turn my back on that, even though I did swear off TV right after the writer's strike, but I'm willing to call it off for The Krip.
"We" as in team, as in "we're all in this together." Strangely enough, sometimes when reading his interviews, it feels like we've been friends forever. We're BFF... imagine that.
So how about it?
SUPERNATURAL or LOST?

Old picture but it's one of my all-time favorites.

Another old picture but also a favorite.

New Sci-Fi mini series. If you haven't seen it already, do consider catching the reruns. It's worth a shot.
It's a three-part series, and the final part airs tonight.
I didn't really expect to like it much when I first saw it, because I didn't like the original Wizard of Oz. But to my surprise, I found myself addicted. There is a new twist to everything. The story is still pretty much the same, but the characters have new depth to them.
It's actually one of those love-it or hate-it kind of thing.

Does anyone have a clip of this scene?

CHICAGO, IL AREA
Sat. & Sun. November 10-11, 2007So close yet so far.
Chicago is only a seven hour drive from where I live (road trip!!!), but I can't go to the convention. School, work, project proposals, conferences... life in general is blocking the way. This alone already sucks, but what sucks even more is that I'll be in Chicago the weekend of Nov. 3 and 4 for a conference. I will miss the convention just by a week. If my conference and the convention were set on the same weekend, I'd go to Chicago but I'd blow off the conference for the convention when I get there. That would be sweet.
This is an "opportunity of a lifetime," so to speak because you never know when Supernatural is gonna get pulled. I live with this constant dread every Thursday. So if anyone is going to the convention, lucky you. Take lots of pictures and tape all of the interviews, if you can. And then share the love with those who can't go.

Dean is expressing my pain and anguish, and he does it so well, too.

Oh, and more ratings of course.
Checking for ratings reports has since consumed my life. Every morning I wake up, I always have to read the reports before I do anything else. And this has become insane. It's just so hard to quit now that I've got it wired into my system.
These ratings. They're just numbers, yet they determine everything. If a show lives or dies is based on how high these numbers are and most of the time these numbers aren't even correct. Who is counting them and who gets accounted for?
It's about time the Nielsen ratings get a facelift. They need to start including more people and not just the "random spectrum." What does that even mean? These "random" people hold more power in their hands than they know. I shiver at the thought.
Anytime someone turns on the TV, s/he should get accounted for it. This goes for people who record shows to watch at a later time.
It's obvious that I take quality TV shows seriously. So does anyone know how or where a person can get a Nielsen box, or whatever the hell they're called?

Very good episode. The freaking kids freaked the bejeesus out of me. This is arguably one of the scariest episode, thus far. I hate demonic looking children and I'm not too keen on the whole Dean's kid thing. This was kind of odd. But the Mary storyline is good. I'm so looking forward to seeing more of it.
I don't know, maybe I'm alone in this.
But, after tonight's episode, I just realized that like most of the damsels-in-distress of the week more than any reoccurring female characters in Supernatural, thus far. (Except for Mary and Jessica, that is.) And often times, I wish that the writers could somehow work these damsels into the storylines so that they could stay, instead of just fading out after the monster of the week is killed. Like Lisa, she and Dean had a little something going on there.
As a matter of fact, I would love to see some of the damsels from season one and two again, if the actresses' schedule allow it. I wouldn't mind seeing a few demons again either. These one-time characters have so much chemistry with the Winchesters that it's a shame that it's not put to good use.
A lot of people have already said this, but I didn't see it until tonight. Ruby/Bella... whoever it was that was in tonight's episode really looks and acts like Jo. She's got that same naive, "spunky" attitude, the same face, and the hair... oh my god, the hair! It's the same hair! (okay, she's got bangs.) I don't mean to offend. They're both pretty. But couldn't the producers (or whoever) have made the character a little bit more different from Jo?

...is available for FREE on iTunes.
I know. I couldn't believe it either so I had to download it to see if it was real... and it was... and it was AWESOME.
I missed SN so much over the summer (I'm sure many fans felt the same as well). To my disappointment, the second season DVD set was kind of dull and unoriginal. It was exactly like the first season DVD set--nothing changed at all. They didn't even bother to give it a facelift or change the setting or change the theme music.
But this third season premiere episode made up for it, it just blew me away.
(If you live in the US, go and get it NOW. Unless you don't wanna be spoiled... but get it anyway because it's FREE and you can watch it later.)

This may be a little too late to promote, but oh well, I forgot. It has been a busy summer for me. But the reruns will still be playing sometime this week.
This show deserved to be advertised as a must-see summer series, but SPIKE didn't really do that and expected people just to know about the show by word-of-mouth.
I still can't believe that they just gave up on such an intense, heart-pounding (and heartbreaking) series that had so much potential. John Leguizamo was awesome. The rest of the cast was alright, they did kind of grow on you after a while. All I seem to do anymore is complain about TV networks and their incompetence. Damn, how I wish there is a network out there that I can be proud of.
