  GoW vs. RFoM

              Gears of war and resistance fall of man. These games that have about as much in common as puff daddy and Bruce Willis.  For some reason like Bruce Willis and puff daddy gears of war and resistance fall of man have been brought together.  People like to compare them saying that one is better then the other but when you get right down to it.  They have only two things in common bullets and aliens. 

              The timeframes are different, the engines are different, the consoles they are on are different, the game play mechanics are different.  Although they may seem similar to each other "you shoot aliens" that brings them no closer together then either of them to that Atari classic space invaders which by the way PWNS both of them.  

              Resistance fall of man is a first person shooter.....you see a gun you shoot straight ahead to whatever your looking at.  Gears of war is a 3rd person cover shooter.  You hide behind rocks pillars ect and shoot over cover at aliens.  It looks different, the mechanics are different and as a matter of fact it's a lot closer to the metal gear series then it is resistance fall of man. 

              So why is it, that these two get compared so much?  Well people need benchmarks and the people having this debate know that metal gear solid 4 guns of the patriots is just simply made to a higher standard then gears if war.  It has an existing fan base with a track record of really great and innovative game play and attention to detail that borders on fanatical. 

              All things considered.  If I made video games I wouldn't want my games compared to MGS4 either.  So the obvious choice is "aliens and bullets? oh that's a lot like Resistance fall of man" Understand I am in no way bashing Gears of War in fact I think it will kick a great deal of a$$.  But let’s compare apples to apples here people.  These games are just too different to get a valid comparison.
