Who keeps sending me Christian magazines?
Seriously now. I keep getting this hilariously-bad magazine called Ignite Your Faith. And by magazine, I mean Christian fundie magazine that looks almost exactly like American Fundie Magazine, only it's completely serious. On the front cover of the current issue, it has a blurb saying "The Bible: God's Awesome Rescue Plan". It's like something Ned Flanders would write. And it gets even worse inside.
How much worse? There's a section that's like "6 Reasons People Followed Jesus". I originally read it as "6 Reasons Jesus was awesome", but considering what the magazine is like, I wouldn't be suprised if that were actually in there.
Anyways, I find this magazine incredibly amusing, if only in the way that I find getting watching movies featured on MST3K amusing. I don't even know who the devil keeps sending it to me.

Movies I'm Excited for in the New Year
Cloverfield- I've always been a big fan of a good monster movie. Hell, Gojira (the original Godzilla) and the original 1933 King Kong are among my personal favorites. So I have pretty high hopes for this film. I love not having the entire damned film layed out in front of me. Though the shaky-camera style has the potential to be very annoying.
Rambo- The first two Rambos are part of ehat made 80's action movies like Aliens, Robocop, and Commando so awesome. If nothing else, at least it will be delightfully gory. I love a bit of the ol' ultraviolence every now and then.
The Dark Knight: Christopher Nolan worked wonders eith Batman Begins, and from what I've seen from the trailer, this looks like it could be on the same level. The new Joker looks kind of awesome. As long as it doesn't have any subzero Arnold Schwarzeneggers yelling random one-liners about ice, it should be good.
Iron Man- Three words: Samuel L. Jackson.
The Incredible Hulk- As a movie, the first Hulk was pretty decent, just horribly misdirected. Ang Lee is a pretty good director, but his vision of the Hulk really doesn't fit that well. This reboot of the franchise could actually be really good, considering it has Tim Roth and Edward Norton in it.
Wall-E- Pixar has always managed to impress me with the caliber of it's films, and their last film was probably their best yet. As always, I have pretty high hopes for this film. I mean, it's directed by the guy who did Finding Nemo.
Hellboy 2- Guillermo del Toro is one of the great movie visionaries of our time. His last film, Pan's Labyrinth, has managed to become one of my favorite films ever made. Which is why I have a newfound excitement for Hellboy 2. Sure, the original was crap, but this one is starting to look pretty good.
Where the Wild Things Are- It's a kid's film with Forest Whitaker and Benicio Del Toro and it's directed by Spike Jonze. How can you possibly not be excited? Unless you're a communist.
Next James Bond- Casino Royale has managed to bring the Bond franchise back into the limelight. If it's anything like Royale, count me in. Please no invisible Bondmobiles, though.
Be Kind Rewind- The trailer was one of the funniest I've seen in a while.
Burn after Reading- This movie looks like it could be incredible. Plus, the Coen brother's last film, No Country for Old Men, was the best movie I've seen in the past decade. Even better than Pan's Labyrinth.
Imaginarium of Dr. Parsinnus- Looks like a nice return to form for Terry Gilliam. Hell, if this turns out well, I will consider this an official apology for the crapfest that was the Brothers Grimm. Tom Waits being cast as the devil is the best casting choice in years,
