Well, just as an update, I'm not spending quite as much time over here on tv.com as I used to.

But, if anyone cares (that hasn't already seen it) I did finally post my first SN drawing.  I actually posted it .  Sorry, I still haven't figured out how to insert pictures or do active links, so you'll have to cut and paste if you want to see it.  You will find it here:

    Enjoy.

Ok, well, an update on the drawing situation.

1 - I "remembered" that pencil is not my favorite medium, charcoal is.  Shows you how much I draw when I can't even remember what I prefer to work with.  Oh well.  It's good to know as I'm actually drawing and with much less frustration.

    2 - I'm drawing...and with much less frustration.  Lol.

3 - My ideas for pics are multiplying as fast as ya'lls plot bunnies and music vids.  I guess that's a good thing.   My current project is actually the last (or second to last) idea I've had for a pic, so hopefully I'll gain confidence with this one and backtrack to my earlier ideas.  It's all good.

4 -  I'm posting this to take a break...I'm about to start the second most difficult part.  The most difficult part for me is the finishing.  Well, that's literally true, but what I actually meant was putting on the finishing touches to make it a nice unified pic.

Don't know if I've mentioned this before, but if there are any artists out there and you can give me tips...on just about everything...I'd appreciate it.  One of these days, I'll actually enroll in a class or something.

Ok, back to the drawing board...literally.

Oh, and hey, I'm level 3 now, so I'll actually be able to post the pic.

Well, ya'll will be happy to know that my foot is doing well.  I'm not limping or using a brace anymore.  Though, I still have some slight swelling and lovely new colors on my foot.

And the evil pool has died.  We think it was either our dogs or our local raccoons.  Our dogs seem to have an affinity for rubber, canvas and tarp.

Actually, that's kind of sad, as our kids love the pool.  Ah, well.

Ok, so I was outside with my husband and kids today.  The kids were playing in the pool that my brother-in-law gave us.  I'm beginning to wonder about the pool.  We set it up on the most level spot we have on our property, our driveway, only to find out when it rains, it causes the water to back up into our garage.  To make matters worse, we used the pool one day and then it has rained every day since then for a week, give-or-take a day.  Lol.  And not just rain showers; no, downpours and thunderstorms. *sigh*

Well, today, a finally nice day, we spent some time in the pool.  The kids remained in the pool and I got out and got two rackets and a birdy to play Badminton w/o the net with my hubby.  Yeah.  About 5 minutes into our friendly game, I stepped back and kind of tripped.  Now, remember, our driveway is the most even bit of land in our backyard.  I almost recovered my footing, but another step backward had me turning my ankle and falling on my butt.  We (my husband and I) chuckled a bit.  I got back up and returned the birdy to him.  About a minute later, I looked down to see that the side of my foot was starting to swell.

So, I think I broke my foot playing badminton in my own backyard.  Well, it would really be more of a stress fracture.  To add to the humor of this situation, I've done this same thing to this same foot two other times, except, both of those time were a result of falling down stairs.

Ah, yes.  As my husband likes to say, I am grace in motion.

So, now I'm debating if it's worth going to the ER.  The last two times I did this, I was given a splint and crutches and told to use them for 2 weeks.  Maybe I'll just keep it wrapped and go to my favorite local grocery store and buy a cane (yes, they do carry those in the pharmaceutical section).

And this is why I would never survive as a hunter (you know what I'm talkin' about - faNily).

Good thing I can prop my foot up while sitting at the computer.

Lol.  Ok, changed my mind...I'm a wuss.  So, I'm going to work on both pics before posting anything.  Just don't like either of them.

Besides, I still have to figure out how to post a pic.

Ok, so I've become so inspired by my faNily, and all the wonderfully creative people we have on that forum, that I decided I would attempt something, myself. No, not a fanfic.  I'm not so good with the putting together of the words.

I decided I would try to draw something.  Now, here's the thing, I have very little formal training in art and I'm a perfectionist.  So I'm seldom happy with what I draw.  But, thanks again to the faNily, I've decided I want to try to get over that.  I finally started drawing.  Now, the one pic I think is decent.  Proportions are off and I don't know how to move from sketch to finished work.  The other pic, while not too bad in and of itself looks nothing like the subject of the pic. *insert nervous laughter*

The plan was to create a collage type drawing (all pencil or charcoal since I haven't figured out color either ).  My hubby suggested that I put up portions of the collage so I could get feedback on each "section" before putting it together as a whole.  I also actually see this as a series of 2 to 3 pics/collages.

Um...so, here goes.  I'm going to post the first pic and retry the second on ('cause it's just embarassing).  Of course, I have to figure out how to post a pic first.  hee hee.

P.S. Props to the faNily.  You'll never meet a nicer, albeit crazier, bunch of people.  Lots-o-love all.

This whole forum thing, fan fiction and art and pictures, etc is all rather new to me.  I never knew there was a whole website dedicated to people that wrote fan fiction.  Of course, I never knew there were other people that thought about tv shows as much as I seem to.

Anyway, I've just got to say I'm impressed.  There really are a lot of talented people out there.  And not just writers.  I've seen some very creative cartoons, awesome art, great photo manipulation (graphic arts?), and fantastic videos.

Kudos to ya'll that actually take the time to do what you're talented in doing and for the courage to step out and present it to people you don't know, and those you do, too.

I was telling Kat, I think my new tagline is "Thanks for sharing your gifts".  I seem to be writing it at the end of most of the reviews I've been doing lately.  It's not at all meant to be trite.  I really do thank ya'll for sharing with the rest of us and expressing for us in ways that we necessarily aren't talented in, if that makes sense.

Plus, you unwittingly provide this "princess" with hours of entertainment.

So, truly, Thanks you for sharing.

Maybe it will help motivate me to do...rather than just observe and consume.

Well, this is my very first blog post, ever!

I chose this day because it is very special to me.  I do love America, even with all her problems, so Happy Independence Day.  And I want to say a very heartfelt thank you to all of the soldiers worldwide and their families that sacrifice to make my family safe and try to make the world a better, safer place for us all.  Ya'll are awesome! I thank God for ya'll.

That, however, is not the only reason I love this day.

Today is my husband's 30th birthday.  He was a true Bicentennial baby.  And, true to his birthday, he joined the Marine Corps after high school.  Fortunately for me, he is now a "former" Marine, so he's all mine and I don't have to share him with Uncle Sam (unless needed, of course).

It is also a special day because today is also my son's 5th birthday.  How cool is that!  My firstborn son was born exactly 25 years after his daddy.

They really get to celebrate their birthdays' in style.  Water balloon fights, picnics, most people get vacation, fireworks!  Fun times!

Hope everyone else has a wonderful 4th of July, too.
