A perfect 10? Not in the last 6 years...
Hard to believe that no game since Tony Hawk 3 has received the awe-inspiring 10. Why is that? It seems as though Perfect Dark for N64, Crono Cross PS, and Zelda back in 2000 all held top honors, no game since then?
Are our expectations too high? Are reviewers fearful of the retribution from fanboys and the like? Is it that no game has floored us the way that Tony Hawk 3 has? (Tough to swallow that one...)
I write this primarily in response to the Halo3 rating. Fan of the series, absolutely. So diehard that I will overlook flaws? No way. What needed to be done to the game that didn't happen? NPC AI was a bit weak? That was it? Hard to believe that the most complete game we've ever seen lost 5% of the total rating due to that.
Just my thoughts....yours?
