it's all about the video games. Yo gamespot, how you doin'. right now i'm playing all next-gen consoles EXCEPT PSP. I have a Deep appreciation for PC games and anything Developed by id, Composed by Bobby prince or Breathed on by John Carmack. while i'm at it, i feel compelled to spell DOOM with all caps when referencing the game in anyway

  a week in reveiw.

  it's been crazy...

  On this Friday evening, i take the time to look back on the events of the week.

  Monday: I Play alot of Modern Warfare 2. A while ago, i claimed to have temporarily sworn off console games for various reasons. Upon hearing about the lack of dedicated servers for MW2 on PC, i quickly scooped up a copy for the Xbox 360. I feel rather unclean about it, but i beleive it was worth it.

  Tuesday: I went to the EB games in SouthGate mall to pick up one of the two new releases that cought my eye and ended up talking with the clerk for nearly half an hour. We talked about wether i should get Left 4 Dead 2 or Assasins Creed 2. He was lobbying towards AC2, i was shifting more towards L4D 2. despite the debate we had, i left the store empty handed.

  Wednesday: Talking with 2 friends and discussing the creation of a Mappers, Modders and Music blog. A blog dedicated to spotlighting certain members of the videogaming community who re-invigorate videogames by creating custom maps, mods, and soundtrack remixes. it's in the works but nothing has been done to further it's creation.

  Thursday: N/A. Nothing happened. Nothing at all. I don't think Thursday actually happened

  Friday: I sat at my computer and blogged about my week on GameSpot.

  So yea. that was my week. As boring as a JRPG made by North American developers

  Thanks Xelteckon!!

  Hey GameSpot.

  I have finally decided to name my DOOM obsession, i call my self a DOOMophile. Being a DOOMophile means that someone loves all things DOOM and I do. What i love most, the soundtrack. The legendary works of Bobby Prince have generated quite a following.

  Onto the big part, There is a video maker by the name of Xelteckon on youtube. He does custom Repaints of Transformers models, 3-D imaging art and Videogame soundtrack remixes. He has remixed the entire DOOM 1 soundtrack, wonderfully done. I contacted him yesterday to talk about using his music on GameSpot and he accepted! So for the loving DOOM fanbase (and with Xelteckon's permission), I will be uploading his Songs to GameSpot Starting With E1M1. It May already be up.

  Id Family tree?

  A quick one before i head out...

  Wolfenstein, Quake, DOOM. each game was developed by id and each game invigorated (and invented) the FPS genre. but despite all these similarities, each game has something els in common.

  All these game's protagonists are all related.

  B.J. Blakowicz: Blakowicz was fighting the occult all the way back in the second world war. Nazi genetic experiments, evil spirits and, wait. Hellspawn? B.J. deafeats a large creature called "The Harbinger of Doom" in Wolfenstein RPG. this creature resembles the cyberdemon, only less cyber. B.J. destroys this creatures right leg and left arm, As the creature dies, it curses B.J. claiming it will return to destroy B.J.'s descendents. the cyber demon confronts doomguy and has a mechanical hoof on it's right leg and a Rocket launcher left arm.

  John kane. In the DOOM 3 novels, the DOOMguy's name is john Kane, the protagonist of Quake 4 is named matthew kane.

  maybe brothers? father and son?
