  I know why R.O.B is in Mario Kart DS

  When I fist saw R.O.B., I had no idea where he came from.  I've never seen him before and why is he in a mario kart game.  The only R.O.B. I know is the one from the Star Fox series.  So I checked the internet and found he was never in a video game, but a real-life object used for a video game.  R.O.B., which stands for robotic operating buddy, was sold in a deluxe set for the Famicom and the NES.  I don't know exactly how he works but all I know is that he was programmed to read flashing lights from a TV and move accordingly.
