My Friends

31May 12

Dear GS Homeslices,

Well, since hooking up with Eidos, GOG has had some excellent PC games from one of gaming's most groundbreaking eras (mid to late 1990s) entering their catalog. That rather fruitful deal has brought us GOG users the likes of Anachronox, Soul Reaver and Hitman 2. Now, that deal has brought us something that many a retro gamer has been waiting eagerly for: a DRM-free version of the original Tomb Raider trilogy. That's right, Tomb Raider 1 thru 3 are now on GOG in a complete set for only $10 (US dollars).

To celebrate GOG continuing to edge out Steam on the customer service front, I've selected a Youtube video of the perfect symphony. This tune is from the beloved Millie Jackson. As a kid, my Mother and step-Father owned one of the vinyl copies of one of Millie's LPs. This beautiful woman had a natural talent for talkin' s___ and tellin' it like it is.

Millie Jackson' F___ You Symphony

Take Care & Love the Awesomeness

@nate1222 Have you noticed in Soul Reaver how the music starts to change when you reach a puzzle? I'm upto Melchiah's clan territory; The Necropolis and I reached a puzzle room where Raziel has to shift blocks around and the music began to change.

Definately. They use music to excellent effect in Soul Reaver. Very atmospheric. I like Raziel's theme (during opening cinematic) and the Necropolis Theme. I actually hunted down that soundtrack.

Sweet. I'm more of a Steam guy tho when it comes down to sales, cheaper games. Heard of GOG, seems good site for game purchasing

picked up MonsterWorldIV from the SEGA vintage and its a fun little game. Haven't put much time into it. Can't wait to see the reboot for the new tomb raider game.

How do the Tomb Raider games hold up?

Pretty good. GOG threw in DOS Box emulator, so that Vista and 7 PCs can run it. You may have to go into the DOS Box menu (easy to do) and tinker with the graphics settings. But it runs just fine.

Very nice deal,I already played all of these games a few years ago(didn't like them too much though, mechanics feel too dated,Lara controls like a d@mn truck),but still,a great collection for those who are interested...

You made my day! I love the first three Tomb Raider games. I'm tempted to buy this package, although I already have all the TR games for the Playstation. They will surely look better on the pc. I have so nice memories from Lara Croft's adventures: the T-Rex that started chasing me in the valley, the Midas' hand that turned Lara to gold, the cisterns, so many things...
