  Final purchases for 2009

  GAMES:

  From GOG.com holiday sale
  - Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete Edition

  From Steam holiday sale
  - Audiosurf
  - Braid
  - Ben There, Dan That! + Time Gentlemen, Please!
  - Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror + The Sleeping Dragon
  - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

  I've been eyeing HoMM3 ever since it got added into the catalogue. What made me hesitate in the first place was the price because I can still be a scrooge if I try hard enough, and when I saw that it got discounted, I still spent 4 hours deliberating the purchase. I got tired at 2am and just said to heck with it and clicked. Yay.

  As for the Steam sale, it was either buy Fallout 3 GOTY Edition or a whole bunch of other games. I decided on the latter. With the exception of Stalker (it was ANNOYING to type out the full-stops), I've always wanted to play the rest but wasn't willing to pay $10. When they're all selling for as low as $3, I didn't hesitate. As for Stalker, it was priced at $2 for a limited time (it's now 10 bucks) so I might as well.

  BOOKS:

  - Runaways vol 11: Homeschooling
  - The Secret History of the World
  

  While surprisingly there wasn't a big haul, I'm so happy! I thought there wouldn't be any more Runaways comic but then I just saw it on the shelf as I was browsing through the Marvel section. While I sulked at the cliffhanger ending, the art by Sara Pichelli pacified me. Check out her sketches if you have time. Love it a whole bunch, and I can't geek out enough.

  THE ULTRA!!! PURCHASE:

  - HDTV

  Hoyeh baby.

  The whole family was out at some fair at the expo halls today, and our agenda was to get a new bed for my eldest sister, buy a vacuum cleaner and reserve a family trip to Kuala Lumpur next year (we're going in February!). Then I saw the rows upon rows of TVs on sale and... we got one for me? It's some Panasonic Viera model which had 5 stocks left and was slashed at half price, and a huge crowd were standing around debating on getting it, lol. Fastest decision-making yet.

  Yay, I don't have to squint at my TV anymore! Like I was trying out the demo for Dante's Inferno just now and couldn't make heads or tails on what skills I was upgrading so I just ignored it and continued slashing away. I have to get a video switcher though because I have 3 composite cables to plug in and I don't feel like craning my neck around the back to fiddle with them.

  So there is still one more blog to go before 2010, which is "Crack of the Month". I'm actually trying to gather motivation to finish that haha. As for 2010 itself, lots of things to look forward to with the first thing on my mind being the new school trimester and Yeah Yeah Yeahs gig.

  Lastly, recommend me some nice game OST. Ar Tonelico and DJ Max Portable have been spinning for the past week and it's getting tiring, as lovely as they are to listen to.

  Back to the PS2

  Christmas is coming soon, and everyone is all happy and jolly, and all is right in the world! Except, I woke up extra early this morning and rushed to the bathroom to puke my guts out and then suffered some incredible stomach pains. Gah. I think I'm fine now, but I'm still feeling a bit shaky. My mom keeps blaming my lack of eating, but I don't think that's it. I had a dodgy cold burger my dad bought from their trip home yesterday, so I'm gonna blame that and my own stupid self instead. ):

  Anyway, stopped Borderlands for a bit to start playing Persona 3 finally. I'll get back into Borderlands though if someone wants to play with, or if I decide to get the new DLC on the 29th. It's a coliseum arena quest that runs in the same vein as Horde mode in Gears 2, so I'm not sure how exciting that'll be. To be honest, I'm kind of disappointed because I wanted more new locations. LIKE MIDGET ISLAND.

  So Persona 3. If you had noticed, mine is the original P3 edition and not FES. I wish I had gotten FES because from what I've played so far, the game is extremely addictive and the extra content will definitely be welcomed by me. I kind of don't like how limited your actions are during the day, and it forces you to juggle your Social Links and whatever else. Despite all that, I've already played 15 hours and I know I'm going to be spending more on it. Also, Mitsuru is really hot although the French is really random.

  
  

  Ahhh it feels so goooood to play the PS2 again. No need for squinting at my stupid TV, like I have to do with most 360 games. I can even sit all the way back on my bed, snuggle up in a blanket and lean against a whole load of propped pillows, and be all comfortable-like. I gotta play more PS2 games, and I'm excited to do so.

  My night was fulfilled.

  I'm going back to the store to buy pens that has little kitties on them that are too cute to pass up.

  Also with the help of a friend, I'm now left with getting just 1 more Achievement for Borderlands before I get 100%. I'm gonna be writing something new at the end of the month called "Crack of the Month". Guess what it's about, and to whom it'll go to.
