so..... tis the day of my birthday, the day i turn 17, the last birthday before i get considered to be an adult, how was it you ask?
it was great, though only got money it didnt phase me much, chicken treat were dodgy and didnt give us a chicken roll meaning we drove up there twice, and the weather is hot and soon to be humid with rains and had an english assessment which i think i flunked (way too much pressure for first task into unit 3A) and there werent any working aircon's in the school.
not much of a blog i know, but for those who are curious, take some cake just for you

p.s im also level 30

p.p.s next blog may be on my 3rd GS anniversary, which also happens to be on my ball night lol

Reality Check: the Crossroads
(skip to the underlined heading if you want to skip to my plans for this year)
Ah 2010, a time to have a fresh start and look forward to the year to come. I guess its pretty true for me being i turn 17, real exams, schoolies and the dreaded uni application at the end of the year, but to get to the bright light at the end of the tunnel, theres a long rocky road ahead, well for me especially. Being that the school im in, it would be regarded as low soco-economic with majority of kids picking up a trade after they finish school though there are still a bunch of bright kids wanting to go to university to further their goals.
Recently the West Australian had a liftout with interviews with the top TER students for 2009, and well just reading what subjects they did, and how they studied, it got me petrified. Their subjects included high end english and maths, chemistry, calculus and physics whereas to what our school provides, our maths is 2 levels down (next level higher you need to travel to another school 4 days a week to go to it), english is a level lower and the other 3 subjects are only offered through Side, which doesnt work well with those subjects since no teacher there, makes life really difficult.
But who do you blame? the education department for not giving all areas an equal chance, the minning boom up north taking alot of possible uni students, the school for having behaiour problems with students, parents for not being strict, architects for designing the school horribly....the list goes on and goes around in a circle making it impossible to fix.
At the moment im not really sure of what i want to do at uni yet though, i'm kinda interested in doing child psychology and medicene which i can then use to become a childrens doctor, which would mean i have to net a TER of 96, which is pretty damn high and im not liking my chance. Luckily though, our school has joined UWA in a medicene and dentistry partnership which may be great for me though theres still things i need to do for it.
At the moment i have to plan on getting a St John's Ambulance first aid certificate, doing a UMAT test, an interview and i also have plans on doing a course helping out the retirement home just to increase my likelihood of getting in and completing my 20 hours community service, not to mention on the work load and study load ive got to do.
So what does it mean now?
Well i guess its all but sad news i guess, as most of you know i'm job hunting at the moment for the extra money seeing ill struggle to buy anything over the next 6 months with a ball (which i'll have a date), friends brithday, and other things which ill need alot of money for. So with a Job, and study load, i think gaming will slow down dramatically to whenever i have free time which i guess will now be rare. i'll still pick up titles though throughout the year, i have a big back-logue of things i have to get but its merely surplus for the coming years as the way things looking now, i may be moving out next year and with full time work and uni, gaming will be left out as money needs to be spent else where on more important things, but yeah thats how i've worked it out as, though it may prove different
2009 was my year of the playstation 3 and it was amazing, 2010 however wont be as such, though as long as its 10 year plan goes ahead, i have 10 years with my baby to come

Blog 21
so here is blog 21, kinda sounds like the new bond film coming out like i dunno soon? lol as per always ill break down my happenings over the past few weeks into chunks to make it lighter on you to read

Home
as mentioned in my last blog, some of you may remember my father having multiple myeloma which is a cancer in the blood. few weeks ago his health went really bad as he had sugar hypos and weak legs during my first week of holidays so i was stuck at home all of that week till he was supposed to be admitted into hospital to start his bone marrow transplant which was last week. since then im home alone during the day which is a nice change in a way, as im more free to do what i want without being hassled all the time. His transplant hasnt started yet as he has the final and largest dose of chemo left to go, which they had to hold off as he's had blood sugar and blood pressure problems since hes been in hospital, and his heart strength is at 38% capacity which is 2% under recommendation. today he went in to get tests done to see if hes ready to go through with the chemo, and the doctors decide whether they belive he should go home for christmas to rest and get better and do the transplant in the new year. everyone is hoping he'll be home for christmas but he wants it over and done with.
in unrelated news, i got my L permit 2 weeks ago, so ill be driving soon
hopefully i dont start thinking its burnout
School
school finished for me a few weeks ago (yay) and i also got my reports today, to everyone else they might think of it as being great, but letter grades arent of concern to me anymore, exam marks are where its all at, and heres what i got;
2B Biology: 57% 52% +5%
2B English: 64% 59% +7%
2B History:80% 69% +11%
2B Science: 68% 69% -1%
2B Maths: 74% 90% -16%
2B philosophy and ethics: 70% 72% -2%(highlighted numbers denote last semester)
so overall i got 4 A's, a B and a C. only thing im bummed out is english as no matter what i cant get an A, and the teachers always generalise you have to do x to do better, but they dont say how and they dont help, which doesnt help me at all
Gaming
2 trophies from LittleBigPlanet plat, which one i need 4 players and the other is easy and nearly done with MW2 which i hope i will finish both by december 31st. not sure what happens after i finished them though as i dont have any more games i would like to play and im flat out broke for a long while, so maybe time for me to get a job and money?
Everything else
well 2009 is about to wrap up soon, and i have a feeling next year will be even bigger than this year as everything gets hectic as i finish up school, make plans for uni, schoolies, yaer 12 formal, a job, all these new releases coming out, turning 17......its making me anxious and nervous and scared at the same time, but im hoping it all works in my favour.
oh and also just out of curiosity for those still in school, what do you hope to be when you finish high school?
well that wraps up blog 21, and my final blog for the year will be on the last week of december with pick ups of my year, my lists for next year and goals. Until then Monkey out
