Too many good games at once! Goin Crazy
With the onslaught ofmany excellent games lately (FM3, COD:MW2, DIRT2,e tc...), I don't know where to find the time to satisfy my gaming itch. An hour here, two hours there is fine but at this rate, I'll be buying yet new games and not finishing those I already own and want to play entirely through. Thankfully winter is coming and that means more time indoors and hopefully more time to game. But can't forget that life continues outside gamedom. No matter, life is all about balance andcompromise.
Goal for winter 2009-2010: Spend much, much , much more time in multiplayer mode so I can justify my GOLD subscription. Might even try my luck at 1 VS 100! Who knows. Tip: Have a few drinks before playing, it relaxes you and you'll do better.
Anyhow, this is my first blog entry. About time.

XBOX 360 - Where's my NEXT GEN??????
Is it just me or is what being dished out for the 360 far from being Next-Gen gaming? Compared to some titles like Hitman and Splinter Cell for the original XBOX, the current titles for 360 disappoint.
They are just HD versions of past titles and some of them offering very poor online support...namely Chromehounds and TDU.
Where is the wow factor that I expected? Case in point. PREY has some very unique gameplay and storyline but the graphics are just plain Jane. On the 360 I want to see flowing hair, particle effects, round wheels, not octagonal. Didn't anyone working on PREY thought of putting smudges and crap on the mirror in the opening scene? Come on, a dirty bathroom with a sparkling clean mirror??? Where's the realism? I could list similar shortcomings in most if not all games.
Come on developpers, take the time you need to develop true next-gen titles so that I can justify paying the big bucks for them.
January 30th 2007 (Update)My prayers where answered. Three words: Gears of War. Simply put, I can't seem to get enough of this game. It is also the first game I finished except for HALO where I attempted the final buggie ride and failed to meet the time and didn't re-attempt. Oh well, will have to put on my To Do list.
Back to GOW. Best concept, best graphics, game play, multiplayer, new maps via Live. Come on Cliffy, put out the next chapter quick before the D.T.'s set in.
Also, today is a SAD day. My X360 kicked the perverbial bucket last night. Started after I downloaded Crackdown from Live. Coincidence? HDD seems fine, getting the ol ring of red light except for the top right quadran. i.e. terminal. Luckily for me, Future Shop are doing over the counter replacement due to a known defect. No waiting time!!! Now to move all of my gamesaves to a memory card.
So long for now on AS THE XBOX TURNS.
