After hitting my all-time low feeling this morning/afternoon with my head cold, I'm finally on the rebound. At about 2 this afternoon I was napping on and off just to try and lose my throbbing headache. It finally went away after taking some tylenol - modern medicine really does work!

Finally now at about 10:30, I'm beginning to lose my congestion and my cough is loosening - though still I sound like a 85 year old who smokes 8 packs a day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for me than today was. Right now I sit here working on my Conan recordings/submissions for TV.com to clear out my TiVo and reduce my backlog (something which TV.com seems to be struggling with :-/). Maybe some of my submissions will be approved soon... this is getting more annoying and frustrating than anything.

Two days ago, I headed out to State College (btw, I drove the entire way myself) with my mom and brother to spend the day with my cousin and her husband. We left here around 9:15AM (way too early) and got there around 11:30ish.

Ang took us to the Nittany Mall in their gorgeous new Chevy Avalanche. That thing is amazing! It literally has everything you could want in a truck/SUV. I stopped in at Aéropostale first. There I further fed my fetish (or obsession, either fits) of long sleeve button down shirts, getting the blue and orange plaid and the pink striped. Two polos were next - a bright blue one and a green one - not striped or anything just solid. I got few t-shirts there aswell, including a "California" shirt and a 3/4 length sleeve purple shirt.

After that I headed over to American Eagle Outfitters were next on the list. There I got another polo, this time a white one with green stripes along with 2 pocket t-shirts ($6.95 each!) and a yellow "Eagle" shirt.

Hopefully now I should be good for back-to-school (sickening isn't it?). The only bad part about the trip today is that when I woke up, I felt like I'm getting a cold and not drinking water just kinda amplified that.

These things are so damn addictive! I've been munching on these suckers all afternoon while watching Die Hard on FX. Surprisingly, I never saw that before and it is pretty good. It seems like FX is having a special on Bruce Willis movies - there were commercials for "the world television premire" of Tears of the Sun (excellent movie by the way).

An interesting fact not many people know about Willis is that he is a Republican. Yes, thats about as rare in Hollywood as a white guy at the Apollo. But shortly after September 11th, he called President Bush and volunteered to enter the military to serve his country. You don't see that much - a powerful, rich A-list movie star voluntarily asking to get shipped off overseas. President Bush had to decline though, because Willis was over the maximum age for enlistment. I suppose thats a good thing, unless you don't like his movies...

Welcome again to another boring, lazy day in my life. Most of my day consisted of:
A.) Playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the PC (I'm almost done with all the Badlands missions!)
    B.) Running errands
or maybe if I was feeling daring
C.) Watching the Conan shows I have stored on my TiVo

It was a slow day that I just can't seem to fill it with anything exciting to do. I did get out of the house some to do some running for the old folks... hadda get potatos and light bulbs. Since I was out in the Buckhorn region I decided to stop in RadioShack and picked up a project box that I need for an upcoming audio connector endevour I'm planning on doing. More details on the project to come!

On the Hollywood Stock Exchange, one can create a free account with $2 million HSX bucks and buy and sell, cover and short their way through the fake Hollywood Stock market. A player can invest in Moviestocks, Starbonds, Options and much more. I joined a long, long, long, time ago (probably 5 years or more) and started out with $2 million just like everyone else. I didn't check it for a while and then about a year ago I started watching it and playing more. Needless to say I ballooned up to nearly 10 times what I began with ($20 million). I should play the real stock market.

About 2 months ago I bought 10,000 shares of the movie that was released one week ago today, "Bewitched." At the time, it was about $65 per share - fairly expensive but I figured a sure money-maker with stars like, Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman in it. Evidently I was wrong. I just sold it minutes ago, taking a monster hit of $68,000 dollars for the day. Ouch! That is one of my bigger follies, only eclipsed by a loss of nearly $150,00 "dollars" from "The Matrix Revolutions." You win some, you lose some. Even though, I must say Thank you, Bewitched!

After putting up with the hot summer temperatures and their toll on my computer's temperatures, I finally broke down and bought some more fans. The one on the side window went out on me (ball bearing I reckon) and I needed one more in the front to equalize the airflow in/out.

Since I already had 2 blue LED fans in the back, I decided to stick with the blue. Now my case has an errie blue glow to it that is surprisingly nice. The other day I re-routed my cables to clean it up inside and improve airflow and it really looks nice. The cables are all (or mostly all) hidden away and hasn't improved the temperatures that much itself but in combonation with the 2 new fans its keeping them down slightly. My air conditioner has been on so its a bit hard to tell.

But so far my idling temperatures have been about without my air on:
    119-120º F for the CPU and 88-89º F (49 and 32º C, respectively).

And so far my high-load temperatures haven't peaked above 123º F for the processor and 91º F in the case (51º and 33º C, respectively).

The CPU temperature has been inching up slightly as I've been idling but it still is better than it was. Before I would be at my current peak temperatures when I was doing nothing and when it was at a full load the temperatures would hover around 130º F (55º C) and 96º F (36º C). I still need to observe and do some more testing but it has been well worth the $18 I spent Xoxide (I spent $4 on 2 blue cold cathode lights - they flash when you play music!). Expect some pictures of the case all decked out in blue in the near future!
