  "Pushing Daisies" Review!

  It seems that, once again, I've been overloaded with work and I couldn't post those reviews. Sorry for this. Here is my review of "Pushing Daisies" - finally!
  
  I've always liked Lee Pace acting and always imagined that he may have a shot a becoming a great actor, but I never thought that he would get his chance and certainly not the chance to try a role like the one he got on ABC Pushing Daisies. The show concept is quite interesting. What is surprising, to me at least, is that you don't have the feeling of watching a TV show. Instead, you have the feeling of watching a very good children movie. All the show environment is simply wonderful (it looks nicer that what they had for "Alice in Wonderland"). It's like reading a children book with all those wonderful pictures in your thought while you're reading it. But normally, this would be quite awful to watch on TV, but not with that show. You quickly understand what it's all about and you know why it has to be in this dreamy/childish environment. Its the story of a young boy, who finds out that he has a gift. He can revive those who are dead. But like in any story, it has a bad side. If he brings someone (or something) back to life for more than one minute, somebody else will die. But there is another twist to this gift. If the person he brought back to life touch him again, she will die instantly.
  
  The gift and his consequences are quickly understood by the viewers, when we see Ned reviving his mother. The first sign of the bad side happens when the father of Ned's first love dies suddenly. But the same night, Ned mother comes and kisses him and she dies --again. both Ned and his love loses someone that day. The love and complicity of both character is amazing to watch during the whole show and one of my favorite show ever is when both kids are kissing each other, on a hill, during sunset, with both parents being buried in the background. It's absolutely fantastic to watch this scene.
  
  But with all this happening, Ned finds himself alone. Charlotte 'Chuck' ants have taking her inside their home and she will never meet Ned again.. Or so we thought (frankly we all know they will meet again, which is a bit cheap but after all, the story must go on). Ned grows up and starts his own business. He decides to make pies for a living. But when he thought his life was all planned out, a private detective finds out his gift and uses him to revive murdered people. By doing this, the PD gains the reward by finding the murderers.
  
  One day, Emerson Cod (the PD, played by Chi McBride) comes and tells Ned that they have a job. They must find the murderer of a lady who died during a cruise. Guess who it is? Yes, it's "chuck." Ned's first and only love. After Ned revives her and finds out the most he can about her death, he can't resign himself to kill her. So somebody dies! But we don't care about him since it's a bad guy.. frankly.. that's a cheap exit. I think it would have been much more strong to show that an innocent person died because he didn't used his power properly when he make that choice.. but that's only me.
  
  So, to summarize the end, find the killer and she now lives with him knowing that they both will never be able to touch each other. The last few minutes are a bit boring. It's probably the weakest part of the show since it doesn't give you that much to care about for the next episode. They could have added some kind of intrigue or continuation but it's quite a good show anyway. Hopefully, ABC won't cancel it for no reason.

  "Caveman" Review

  I've always liked those Geico ads. The concept has always been so simple but yet, extremely enjoyable. I was quite surprised to learn that they were going to make a show out of those ads. Who would really believe that someone could do that! Well, I must say that I liked the result. "Caveman" won't be beating any record in the television history. Frankly, I'm not even sure if America is going to give it a fair shot. But "Caveman" deserve its chance.
  
  We may believe that the show is only about a bunch of caveman in the normal world and it's only supposed to be funny. But the reality is much better. "Caveman" is in fact one of those show where you can learn something. It encourage the acceptation of those who are different from us and that we shouldn't always believe what other are saying or nothing else of that kind. It's one of those life lesson that many people need to learn in these days when any person who look like a Muslim is believed to be a terrorist.
  
  But while "Caveman" is a leader in acceptation, we must remember that it's also a TV show and it must have the TV component inside of it. From the pilot, I couldn't say for sure if I think the creators really showed us that this could be a great TV show. The pilot is nice to watch one time, but two time is already too much. We've already seen everything that is in it. Some old jokes won't make the US viewers turn in every episode. The show need to have a make over an be much more Funnier.
  
  Trough the script isn't amazing, I think the acting of those who play the Caveman characters is quite good. It will certainly be one of the strong thing about this show and will help the writers to do a much better job. But the secondary actors really need to have a goal in life. I've never liked to have somebody in the background that I can't really care about, so if they could find a way to implicate them in the story, it will be much appreciated.
  
  Overall, the show deserve a shot, if changes are made. It's certainly a positive review and is certainly the show with the best moral content so far this year.

  "Bionic Woman" Review

  Big Summer isn't it? I haven't been around much, obviously, but I still keep looking at what is happening on the site and to everyone, by reading your blogs. So, last year I wrote a couple or reviews for all the new shows I had seen, but now, it's time to do it for this year.
  
  This is the time of the year when we are a little bit excited about all those new shows. Personally, I'm always more excited one week before the show officially begins on TV. But right now is also the time when the network are sending the new shows to their station so that the people over there can watch them and leak them on the internet.
  
  The original "Bionic Woman" wasn't the best thing on TV, but it was interesting at least. The new "Bionic Woman" certainly isn't going to break any record in audiences unless big changes happens. Not so long ago SCIFI Network "Painkiller Jane" premiered. I never hidden the fact that I wasn't a fan of that show because I thought the acting, casting and stories were bad. Now, I'm not hidden my feeling for "Bionic Woman." Don't get me wrong, I Love when shows are produced in Vancouver, Canada but we have talent over there that isn't used.
  
  "Bionic Woman" uses a simple network plan. "Cut the budget and lets hope for the best." Selecting second class actors and having a story that wouldn't make it inside a book is certainly the best way to create a television phenomenon and make history.
  
  The pilot is simply awful. Too much in not enough time. The story gives you a feel that everything is cut and pasted from another show or movie. It cuts there and there and there and.. I'm lost. But the pilot doesn't only give you this feeling, it is also extremely depressing to watch. You get the impression that the writer(s) tried to force the story by adding characters that you don't need. One of them is Jamie's sister. A young girl who is deaf and rebel but is also having a big family issue with her sister. $20 that we will get an episode on this (please, shot me if it happens). The thing is that we don't care about her. It's one of those character that have been added to drag the story.
  
  From the main character to the guys in the background there is a major issue with the casting. I never was a fan of Katee Sackhoff, and never will, but I can't expect an actress, that I think need to go study acting a little bit more, to do an amazing performance with awful material. Miguel Ferrer has also been casted in the pilot and I was quite surprised by him been casted in that show. Through I like him as an actor, he has the exact same role that he had on "Crossing Jordan." The boss that doesn't mind if his favorite employe does what ever he wants.
  
  The actor that I was most excited about was Mark Sheppard. Great actor with a whole lot of potential. Strangely, and unsurprisingly, he doesn't get the best role. He is the bad guy in prison. Not even one of the main bad guys but he does a good job with his role, as always.
  
  Frankly, I'll give the show one shot. Hopefully someone will wake up and do some changes but that never happens generally. Anyway, you'll each get your chance to make your own opinion and I'll be respecting it.
