Hey, I have just recently started posting in OT again. I'm not here all the time, but I show up every now and then. I'm not sure if it's changed at all, but I still recognize a few posters there. Well, that's about it, I'll see you around.

Damn, I hadn't noticed that I haven't blogged anything. I guess because I don't really have anything to update you guys on. Well, that's not true. I'm going to see Megadeth on the 16th. It's them with Children of Bodom,In Flames, and Job For A Cowboy. I'm not sure if that's it, but I can't wait. Those three bands will be cool to see, especially In Flames, but for me, none of them compare to Megadeth. I'm a huge thrash metal fan, and Megadeth is one of those classic thrash metal bands. My body is sure as hell going to be sore. Besides that, I have nothing to update. I've been watching the playoffs(NHL) and although there aren't any Canadian teams left, I guess I'll jump on the Pittsburgh bandwagon. However, if they don't win, I really don't care. My team(Canucks) didn't even make the playoffs, so I really don't care which team wins, I'm just a big fan of hockey. You guys/gals are all up to date on everything metallica_fan. I know I don't post many blogs, but I'm sure most of you see me in OT. I post there quite regularly.

Hi there. It's no surprise that I'm a fan of metal. I think we should take the time to see what metal bands I'm interested in. Most kids that like metal nowadays are into all the new stuff. Granted, there are some cool new bands out there:Killswitch Engage,Trivium,Lamb of God,HellYeah and a few others that I like. What I'm into, is the older metal. Yea, the old 80s thrash. I'm going to post some videos of some of the bands I like, and you can tell me if you're a fan or not. Lets start things off shall we:

We will start off with some good ol fashioned Suicidal Tendencies with Join the Army.

Lets keep things going with a band called Metal Church. That right, another great band that seems to get lost in the mix These guys rock. Metal Church.

Saxon, no not Saxophone, Saxon. Ya, another great pioneer of metal. These guys have been rocking hard for years. Check out Princess of the Night.

Hey, Germans can play metal with the best of them. Don't believe me? Accept may change your mind. Here's Fast as a Shark.

W.A.S.P Here's a great band that many of you have probably heard of, but haven't really listned to. Here's a song called Animal. There other part of the title I can't put in, but you'll see and hear it in the video.

We will end things with a band called Anthrax. I know what you're saying, "Wait, I've heard of Anthrax." I'm sure you have, but have you heard Anthrax? Yes, Madhouse is a great tune, but they're so much more than that. Check out Caught in a Mosh.

I hope you enjoyed those tracks. If not, then you aren't a metal head. Anyways, I just thought I'd inform you guys about the metal of the past, because that is the stuff I enjoy.

Yep, today, February 6th, 2008, marks my 2 year anniversary. It blows me away that I've stuck around these forums for that long. It's odd, because if you knew me in real life, you wouldn't consider me to be the forum type. I've had a blast here on Gamespot, and it's been fun posting and getting to know some of the unique users. My board of choice has always been Off-Topic, but I've posted in many unions before as well. One of those unions that was deleted for some reason, and I never really found out why. 2 years may not sound like a long time, and it really isn't, but for two years to constantly come to a site and post, must mean something...(Can anyone say Tool? ) Anyways, just thought I'd share this information with you guys. It's not that important, but I hadn't put out a blog in some time, so this seemed appropriate. I'd like to thank all the cool users I've met over this time, and although some of them have been banned, there are still many wicked users kicking around this site. Cheers!

And the voting begins. What are you're thoughts on the nominee's? I think we have some decent choices. I hope some of my picks win. Sadly, I can't vote for everybody, so don't hold it against me if I didn't vote for you(hey, you didn't vote for me, so maybe I won't feel bad) Some of my nominations didn't make it to the ballot, which I was a little disappointed about. Also, some of the categories, I didn't really know who some of those users were, so I just picked one at random. Anyways, since I didn't get nominated for Best Canadian User, I'm putting my star power behind Megagene. Vote Megagene!

Hey there. As you can tell, I don't update my blog often, but I thought I would today. The OTcars are coming up, yet I think the whole Patchi things was dumb. I would have rather people not vote, than put one user for every category. I'm not up for anything this year(or at least it looks that way from the nominations) but I'll be taking part in the voting. I do miss a lot of OT regulars that I haven't seen for some time. However, there are some newer users that seem to have some potential. Nothing has really changed in my life, although I do have a week off work right now, and we finally have a nice clear, sunny day, however, it's still pretty cold. I bought a game called Gun for my 360 a little while ago, and it's turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It only cost 10 bucks new, and I found that to be a pretty good deal. Other than that, I've got nothing new for you guys. Anyways, I'll be on the look out for you're guys names in the OTcars. Good luck.

Yesterday, Canada made history, as we defeated Sweden in the gold medal game. This gives us 4 straight gold medals in a row in this tournament. In three consecutive tournaments, Canada has only lost one game, and that was this year to the Swedes. Other than that, Canada has been dominant. The US was heavily favoured, even going unbeat in the preliminaries, but they were no match for Canada. The gold medal game was close though, as Canada had a two nothing lead going into the third. Sweden ended up getting a powerplay goal, and then it was 2-1. Late in the game, Sweden pulls their goalie, and manages to get a goal. That's right, we have overtime. In the overtime frame,Sean Matthiasdrove to the net with the puck, and Matt Hallischukstuffed it in. We are an unstoppable hockey force when it comes to these tournaments, and that makes it an unbelieveable 4 gold medals ina row. Sweden walked away with silver, and the Russians beat the States for bronze. Next year, the tournament is in Ottawa, which means our country is going to be going crazy for it. I hope we'll make it 5 in a row.

That's right, I need a new sig. Why? Well, Gamespot has modded my old sig, because they said it had a derogative word in it. Now, I've had that sig since I've joined Gamespot. I put a link to hornymanatee.com, which is a spoof site that Conan O'Brien created. Basically, it had a bunch of fake stuffed manatee's dressed up as different characters. For example:Manateen,Manatee fetish and so on. I've had that part in my sig for about 7 or 8 months. I guess they found it offensive now, and they have deleted my sig. Yup, no more Chris Farley, he got axed. I'll probably put another picture of him in it, or I'll find something else. Anyways, have a good one.

First off, I'll start by saying I hope you're having a great Christmas. I hope Santa was good to you, and brought you the stuff the you wished. I didn't really ask for much this year, as I don't really need much. I think the most expensive gift I got was a pair of jeans. Don't get me wrong though, I couldn't be happier with the gifts I received this year. I got a new music stand, clothing,Trailer Park Boys Movie(If you don't live in Canada, you won't know what show that is) and some CD's. All in all, I'm stoked. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, since it's Boxing Day, and we all know the kinds of sales that go on that day. I'm thinking of going out and buying myself an HDTV, but I'm still undecided. Regardless if I go out or not, tomorrow is also the first day of the Junior hockey championships. Canada plays their first game against the home team, the Czech's. We've done pretty well these past few years, going undefeated three years in a row, which of course means we've won gold three years in a row as well. I really hope we can make it 4 in a row. I know I'll be watching every game Canada plays. Anyways, that's it from me. I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday, and don't get into too much trouble (didn't I write something like this in my last blog? ) That's beside the point though. I also want each of you to think about what you have, and how lucky you are to have it. I know, it sounds cliche, but now more than ever, especially around the holidays, is a time to give thanks for what you have. Cheers, and let the Christmas drinking begin.

Hello there, I didn't see you come in. I hope you all are enjoying the holidays. I know I am. Shopping is more of a chore than it is an activity nowadays. At least I've finished my Christmas shopping for the year. Sadly, I must work through the holidays. However, I do get Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off, so I'm fine with that.

I also saw the movie Doom last night on tv. I must say, I thought it rocked. I got the impression that some people didn't like it. I guess people thought they didn't follow the games or something. Anyways, I figured it was a cool movie, and the first person scene was wicked. That's all from me folks. Have a safe and happy holidays. Remember, drink responsibly...because I know I won't.

As some of you may have noticed, this past week I have been absent, due to vacation. I visited Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I stayed at an all inclusive resort, which was beautiful. My room was right by the ocean, which was great. Just up from the ocean was a pool and a bar, and it was all the drinks you could drink. They had snacks going on by the bar as well. This included burgers, pizza, hotdogs, and a variety of hot items that changed every day. I ended up going parasailing, and it was fantastic. They bring you out to this boat, hook you up, and then you're off. We went up and down the beach, and got a good view of the other resorts and the town. The best part of my trip was the Mayan tour. We visited Mayan ruins, and it was incredible. I don't understand how they built those? We lucked out, because our tour guide grew up in a Mayan village, so we got to visit one. It was breathtaking. Their houses are huts built of wood, and they are as sturdy as ever. We were told the average age to die at for women was 107, and the average age for men was 97. After our guide told us that, he pointed to an 80 year old man carrying a 150lb bag of charcoal with ease. It makes you stop and think. They live such a simple life, with no diseases. Our guide said the only thing they get out there is a common cold. That was basically the bulk of my trip. I got lots of sun, and got some Christmas shopping done early. It did suck coming from hot weather, to snow/rain here. Oh, and sorry there are no pictures, for some reason it won't let me upload them. I'm going to keep trying.

Since I haven't made a blog in a while, I thought I might update you guys on what's going on in my life. First off, it's my birthday tomorrow (9th) and it should be an exciting one. Also, next weekend, I'm going to go shopping for a new electric guitar. As for what kind, well I'm not one hundred percent sure, although I have some ideas in mind. Things have been going great all around. Work is really easy, and I go a vacation coming up, and I'm going to Mexico at the end of the month. Basically, it's one positive after another in my life. As for what I'm doing today, well me and a few friends are going to watch the hockey game, then we plan on having a little jame session. Now you are caught up with me, hope you find that exciting...or whatever

Remember, In order to have friends, you must first be one.

Ya, I put a nice quote in my blog, wanna fight about it?

As some of you may know, I love blues music. Listening to it, playing it, it's wicked. Now one of my buddies who I jam with, has gotten me into a certain guitarist who many of you know, but probably don't like. That's right, I'm talking about John Mayer. Yes, a lot of his songs are radio friendly, and pop driven, however, there is one CD he has released that is all about the blues. It's called Try! It's a live CD with Pino Palladino, and Steve Jordan playing with him. They've gone the tried and true way of a guitarist (John Mayer) and bassist (Pino Palladino) and a drummer (Steve Jordan) It's an amazing CD, and he can wail on the blues. I really hope the he continues down the blues path, instead of his pop path. If you see this CD in stores, I suggest picking it up. If you don't want to, I'll give you a few songs to download. "Out of My Mind," "Who Did You Think I was?" and "I Got a Woman." Yea, he covers aRay Charlessong, and it rocks. Kind of reminds me of when Stevie Ray Vaughan covered a Stevie Wonder song. Anyways, just thought I'd bring your guy's attention to this amazing guitarist. If you like the blues, or just love the guitar, I recommend this album, it's fantastic.

Well, I just got off my suspension. Not sure if any of you noticed, I'm assuming you didn't. Anyways, it was a lame ass reason, but I won't get into that. However, because of the suspension, I have been demoted from level 30 to 29, which is complete BS. I'm not one to really care about levels normally, but losing a level because I was suspended for one day is crap.

On the plus side, I bought myself NHL 08 today. I'll probably end upplaying it later tonight when I get off work. I've heard it's amazing.

I've reached level 30, Wicked Sick! Some may consider that a milestone, or an accomplishment, and I think I'd agree. I've been on Gamespot for some time now, and it seems like level 30 is the big one. I could be wrong, but that's the feeling I get. Who knows? Anyways, I think the name fits. Wouldn't you agree that I'm Wicked Sick!

Ok, well first I will tell you about my new purchase. I finally bought Guitar Hero 2. I haven't had too much time to play it, but it rocks. As many of you know, I actually play guitar, and this game does a fantastic job at simulating it. I can't wait to see all of the songs that are on this game.

Well, I saw the new rendition of Halloween. I must say, I am thoroughly disappointed. I'm not sure it Rob Zombie intended to make it cheesy, but that's exactly what it was. Sure, it was gruesome, but it was the same thing over and over. Teens having sex, teens oblivious that Mike is watching them. Mike kills teens...repeat. I wasn't expecting an awesome movie, but I certainly expected more than that. If you've seen it, what were your thoughts?

Ok, well I don't usually do blogs on video games, in fact, I don't think I've ever done one. Anyways, I own an Xbox 360 and I think it's a great system. I haven't had a chance to play the PS3, but I've heard many great things about it. Now both those systems are known to have amazing graphics, which is great and all, but something has come to my attention...the Wii. I recently got a chance to play a Wii for the first time. I must tell you, it is the greatest system. Me and my friends had a blast playing this. We spent hours on Wii sports alone. Now, the graphics aren't amazing, well, for the Wii sports they're pretty bad. That being said, I didn't care about the graphics, because I was having way too much fun standing up and using the Wii remote as a golf club, or a baseball bat, or using it to bowl. This is the first system that actually lets you interact in the game, and when doing so, you find it even more fun. It's a system that let's you and friends, family, your girlfriend/boyfriend, whoever, to just get up and play. You may be a person that has never touched video games, nor been a fan, and the Wii will change you whole perspective. I'm somewhat disappointed that I bought a 360 so pre-maturely. I love it, but at the same time, the Wii was just a whole other experience. If you get a chance to play a Wii,definetly take the opportunity.

I'll start off by saying that I've found the last few seasons of the Simpsons to be stale. They've been on for so long, that it felt like they were trying to hard. I must admit, I didn't have too high of expectations for this film. Well, they proved me wrong. This movie was hilarious. It had fresh ideas, and made me laugh out loud on many occasions. I highly recommend this film for any fan of the show. This is what the series was in dire straits for. If only they could make more episodes like this movie. I give it a 41/2 out of 5 stars. What were your thoughts on the movie?

I've made a blog post. This won't be anything special, but I was bored, so I'm making this blog right now. I can't really think of anything to say, so I'm just typing whatever enters my mind. Dinner will be in a few hours, I believe we are having pizza. Now what kind, I'm not sure, but it should be good. The odd part is, if you read this blog tomorrow, as in Saturday the 21, then you'll know that I'm not having pizza for dinner. Yesh I have a dutch ackshent, Ishn't that veird?

After all of the success that followed their first album, Vaughan and Double Trouble released their second album, Couldn't stand the weather(1984) During the summer of that same year, Vaughan had various TV appearance on shows like:Rockpalast,Much Music and Solid Gold. At the Grammys, Stevie, along with George Thorogood, presented Chuck Berry with a lifetime achievement award. Voodoo Chile(Slight return, and cover of Hendrix's version) from Couldn't Stand the Weather, was nominated for "Best Rock instrumental Performance." In November, Vaughan won two W.C. Handy National Blues awards: "Entertainer of the Year," and Blues Instrumentalist of the Year." It was the first time a white person had won either award.

In Late January 1985, Vaughan and Double Trouble took their first and last trip Japanese tour. In March, they Started working on their third album, Soul to Soul. Reese Wynans was added to the band, and the band name was changed to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Serious trouble. No album was released under this name however. Soul to Soul which was released in 1985, earned Vaughan fifth Grammy nomination: "Best Rock Instrumental Performance" for Say What! He also produced Lonnie Mack's comeback album, Strike Like Lightning, and played in many of the songs as well. In April of 86, Vaughan then played the Star Spangled Banner for opening day of the National League Baseball season in the Houston Astrodome.

Drug addiction and alcoholism took a toll on Vaughan in mid-86. Cocaine and Crown Royal whiskey were among the addictions. He became severely ill on his Germany tour, and although he did manage to play three more shows, he was finally admitted to a hospital in London. From there, he flew to Atlanta, Georgia, to a rehabilitation centre, where he eventually fully recovered.

In 88, Vaughan continued to tour with Double Trouble throughout Scandinavia. They recorded their fourth album, In Step in February of 89. This album is praised by many, and is thought to be the bands best work since Texas Flood. In Step, earned the band a Grammy for "Best Contemporary Blues Album." Vaughn shared a headline tour with guitarist Jeff Beck in the fall of 89.

Still like to know more? Keep checking back if you're still interested to read the conclusion of this influential guitarist.
