Just to let you all know, Gertsmann's site "Giant Bomb" is up. Since it allows comments, I am going to assume that it will eventually lead to a full user system, and thus I am now plegdging allegiance to it as my core game review center.
I suggest those of you disapointed in Gamespot do the same.

I just found out in the forums today that Jason Ocampo has left Gamespot. A shocking event, sure, but more shocking in that he is yet another GS staff member who has left us. To keep this blog short and sweet, to the point as well, I'm going to follow suit.
I have become convinced that no remaining GS staff member has faith in this site, and if my assumptioon is correct. Untill I see why all these people have left, hopefully to form a new site, I'm not going to stay here. I will leave Gamespot until I see what Jeff Gertsmann, Ryan Davis, Ocampo, Navarro and Provo are doing, and I will join that site. I love the community and al, but at this point, there's no reason, content wise, for me to stay.
Don't think of this as a goodbye, I'll likely see you all soon enough on the mythical new site that is being created. Until then chow.

-Uncharted is awesome, though it is choc full of frustrating moments.
-I really really want Professor Layton and the Curious Village, as reviews have called it amazing.
- I still want that cobalt blue DS. Anything is possible as money comes in.
-I still only have a couple friends on PSN. Add me!
- I currently don't have a working Sype Microphone. To the shopping list it goes!
-I only have to work one day this week. Righteous!
-Downtown Gamespot is getting crazier in the forums every day. If you haven't joined yet, do so now! I'll wait.

I need help you guys her's my dilemma.
I want to get a new Cobalt Blue DS when it comes out in a week or so, and I have reasons.
-The new color is truly sick, of course.
-With Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword coming out soon I'm going to be playing my DS more, and I'd rather play on a newer version.
-After trading in my DS it'd probably be only about 90 bucks.
-Several features of my DS Classic are still broke. Examples: Lock ups on loading screen, faulty touch screen, scratches, broken pixels.
What it comes down to is that I can still play my DS, but its really not preferable. So, what do you guys think. To buy or not to buy?

Just kidding.

Seriously though, TM2 is excellent. I downloaded it last night at the suggestion of good old Mr. SkoneLL and it is still a lot of fun to this day. In fact, TM 2 is probably the single greatest car combat game I have ever played. The weapons are great, the game moves astonishingly fast and you can run over 2D characters and send them to the other side of the map flying. The music fo r the os Angeles level is also timeless. My only complaint is that these PS1 rereleases don't include any online multiplayer. That would be amazing.
I'm also playing more of UT3, though the online mysteriously went down this afternoon. No worries. I'll just polay through the single-player of Twisted Metal again.
. I played some deathmatch with Skone, which was fun and lag-free, however actually joining and setting up games online on PS3 is surprisingly hard to do. You have to jump through hoops. Also the mod support in the game is becoming hard to operate. Too many games with Action Cam installed crash. Fantastic game though. To those who have Rez HD, is it any good? I played A TON of the PS2, and I really should buy it, but I haven't yet. Why? I don't know.
AHHHHHHH GAMES!
Later.

I'm thinking of importing Hot Shots 5 since it isn't coming out for like 4 months in the U.S. Should I? Get back to me.
Also now that exams are over I'd like to say that my contributions will go up. That means videos and commenting and a possible union project. Stay tuned.
PS3 = still great. MontyLibre is the ID. UT3 is the game. Later!

So yeah. I got it.
Add to your friends list and we can play something sometime. Right now my only game is Unreal Tournament 3, but that has enough multiplayer fun to last me until my next purchase.
My impressions so far are really good; the PS3 has really surprising online features (imo) and I love the interface. Also, UT3 is a lot of fun and has solid online (although the servers are emptyish).
Add me now PS owners!

A little late, but here we go.
#2: Mercenaries 2: World In Flames
I need this game in my life. Like, right now. From the very second I saw the E3 2007 demo of the game, in whichthe developer blew up a tanker truck by dropping i from a helicopter from500 feet in the air and firing rocket torpedos at it as it fell into a highly flammable forest, I knew it was going to be something special. Those explosions go a long way towards building my hype for the game, so much so thatI wasthis close to making it my number one pick on this list. I just can't wait to play this game, alone or in co-op over Xbox Live. I hope you all join me in that anticipation.
It all comes down to this. The number 1, most anticipated game, for me, of 2008?
#1: GTA 4
GTA in general hasrisen toan almost mythical level of quality in the past few years. I haven't actually played too much of any of the games (see, I was 10-12 when the big3 gameson PS2 came out). What I did play of them was fantastic fun.But now, I'm ready to experience GTA's greatness first-hand, and the story this time around means its gonna be even more exciting. I love the variety in the characters we've seen so far, the music they're adding, and the hints at new gameplay you can speculate about (cover system?). Regardless, the story, not the gameplay, is waht's selling me so much here, but I'm sure the open-ended gameplay engine will still be more fun even now. GTA 4 is without a doubt, the biggest game coming out in 2008. Anyone who says differently is a liar. Period.
Thanks for reading.

#4: Banjo Kazooie 3 (working title)
I have never in my life played a better platformer than Banjo Kazooie. The game was fun, it was wholly original, and it had a transformation premise that really interested me. When the N64 died, I couldn't wait to play the inevitable Gamecube sequel. Things change though, and now its coming to the Xbox 360. And I'm still pumped for it. We acually don't know anything about Banjo Kazooie 3 at this point, other than that it is in development. But with the original Rare team at the helm, it seems un-likely that the game could disapoint. JHell, I'll take a demo, just give me something!
#3: Army of Two
Army of Two was one of those game I was sure I was going to purchase when details first started spilling about it at E3 07. I saw gameplay videos and was simply in awe. The co-op, third personexperience first made popular with Gearsof War was going to be expanded, and a more tactical, original game was to be created because of the more unique gameplay. No two videos of this game have been the same that I've seen, and whther one player is helping another descend down a rope, or a two-player tank is maintained by both characters, its gonna visceral and exciting in Army of Two. I simply cannot wait for this game to come out, because its glaring originality interests me every time I see it.
What is my most anticipated game of 08? Tune in tonight at 12:01 to find out!

Moving forward...
#6: Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword
I've actually never played a Ninja Gaiden game before. This is mostly because I never had an Xbox to experience the 2004 original (I mean then original.. yes I know that its based off of a NES game), but as a DS game, Dragon Sword looks a cut above any other action offering the system's ever had. The DS has variety in almost every imaginable genre; however, in the field of Action Adventure its pretty lacking. With razor sharp controls, lots of weapons, a storyline that looks solid and graphics that look better than most DS games imo, this will be a strong title. I can't see myself being terribly disapointed at this point with it, so long as there's some fun multiplayer too...
#5: The Club
I'm actually pretty surprised with the lack of attention that The Club seems to be getting lately, so if you arne't in the know I'll explain the game breifly here. Imagine a third-person shooter like Gears of War, with levels broken into 10 minute chunks, the inherent goal being kill and clear out as many dudes as you can. This concept really impressed me when I first read about it in a magazine last April, and I'm still pumped. There's supposedly a lot of character customization and thweapon variety to boot, so I can't wait to see this original game offers.
Also, here are some runner-up games that didn't quite make the top ten:
Brutal Legend, WoW: Wrath of the Lich King, Bully: Scholarship Edition, Sonic RPG, White Knigh Story, inevitable Guitar Hero 4 andProject Origin.
Stay tuned for the rest of the countdown!

Moving on with the countdown...
#8: Devil May Cry 4
Of course DMC4 was going to make an appearance on this list. Would you expect any less from me
? Seriously though, the game does interest me a whole lot. That the graphics are still looking a bit iffy (some sreenshotsdon't exactly have a pop to them) the gameplay, from the videos and previewsI've observed, looks likeclassic DMC. I expect guns, swords, the whole nine yards for this sequel, and I'm sure there will be more to come (Cerberus Nunchucks plz?). I may even (will)invesit in the 80 dollar Collectors Edition, which has some pretty interesting content for those of you who haven'tresearched it yet. Can't wait.#7: Spore
Spore has been in development for such a long period of time that anything less than a masterpiece at this point would seem like a disapointment; however, knowing that the game-designgenius Will Wright is behind it assures me that the game will still be a bounty of fun. The concept alone of "SimEverything" is extremely exciting to me and the online mingling of creatures is also fairly fascinating. Spore has a lot of potential, and I'm sure the final product will be a lot of fun, but it doesn't rank higheron this list because we still know very little about it. Don't worry; a soon as EAstarts talking, I'll listen.
Stay tuned for the rest of the countdown!

Title explains it all. There may be a video for this by the end of this month. No promises. As always, copy away.
10. Condemned 2: Bloodshot
I actually didn't really play the original Condemned, but everyone who did play it says it was a wholly unique experience. I played a lot of the demo and loved the atmosphere and gameplay structure, and now seems like a solid time to get into this soon to be franchise. Also, this one has online multiplayer support for 8 players; which is nice. I can't wait to see how this turns out.
9. Castle Crashers
Alien Hominid HD was my early Game of the Year pick for the first half of 2007; at that point I had played nothing that matched it in its originality, fun, and style. Plus, the prie was perfect. Now, the same team (Behemoth) is finishing work on a multiplayer based action game using the same awesome 2-D visuals. The setting, 4 knights on an adventure, is really awesome and literally everything I've seen about this game has been fantastic. now, if it ever COMES OUT, that'd be nice.
Tune in soon for the rest of the countdown.

Welcome. I know, I know, another feaure. But this one might actually follow through. In this monthly feature, I will preview and analyze my top 3 most anticipated games for the upcoming month. If I ever buy a mic, this will become a video feature. Copying this for your own blogs, as always,is welcomed and encouraged.
#3. Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
I've actually never invested into any of the Advance Wars titles, but all my Civilization playing has peaked my interest in the genre of strategy, and these games have always been really, really critically acclaimed, so I'm wondering. I've always been a major DS game fan in general and pride myself with playing every major release on the system in some way, shape or form. Will I buy this game? Probably, but no promises.
#2. Burnout Paradise
I don't think there's one person on this planet who isn't somewhat interested in the Burnout series after Burnout 3. That game was excellent and I played the hell out of it and its 2005 sequel: Revenge. Its been two full years since a true sequel to that game, and now the time has come to fill everyone's Burnout fix. Paradise introduces a new open-world theme to the series, which is sure to shake things up; I'm not entirely sold though. Don't get me wrong, the core gameplay is still fun judging from the demo, but I get a vibe that the open-worldness could get irritating and repetitive. Will I buy it? Possibly, but it definitely has my interest.
#1. Pirates of the Burning Sea
I'm downloading the beta as we speak. When I saw this game at the first time at E3, I was fundamentally interested: MMOs have become saturated with one fantasy setting, and this looks like a change of pace for sure. The game looks original with ship combat, economy, and more unique ideas. Yeah, it'll still have the MMO monthly fee of 15 buckaroos a month, but I'm willing to try something new for a month, just to see if its my cup of tea. I know a lot of people who are really curious about this game, and I'm all for it. Will I buy it? Yes. I'll pre-order soon.
thanks for reading. What are you most anticipated games this month?

Alot actually...
So first off, I proud to announce that I'm in love. No, not with a person, but with a game. That game:Sid Meier's Cvilization 4. I just can't stop playing cause its so good. I've had the game for only a couple days and I've easily already logged 10 hours worth of play time into it. Something about the game's design makes one more turn worth going for. Its so deep too, with lots of ways to play and master the game.
I also am progressing steadily through Bioshock. I do like the game a lot, and can't find any flaws yet. The presentation is probably the best I've yet seen in a game, but the gunplay could be more involving. I just feel likenone of my weapons have a real pop against the enemies, especially the big daddies. But I ain't complaining...
Also, I need you guys' help w/ something. I want to start up playing WoW again, but I'm not sure if I should or not. I fear that now that I can actually pay the monthly fee I'll get hooked on it. What do you guys think? Lemme know...
*Still needs to play Odin Sphere
