Check it out, I've been on gamespot.com for one year. Pretty awesome huh. And in that time I've bought a Wii and DS lite. I've played heaps of awesome games, talked about em with some awesome people online and had lots of fun. Some great union I've been apart of include the Nintendo Players Union and The Nintendo Online Community. I've had some great times at these unions but unfortunatly I can't contribute as much as I used to these unions anymore simply because I'm a busier kid than I used to be.
I've also led two unions, The Nintendo Reviewers Union and The Virtaul Console Union (formerly the Nintendo 64 Union). These union aren't as active as some others but that's expected when they only have around 100 members. I'll unfortunatly be resigning as leader from both these unions in the coming weeks but it's for the best, so they can move forwards with a new leader.
Some people I feel I should acknoledge include:
Radsnake:I've known this guy for a fair while on gamespot. He led the Nintendo Players Union not long ago (and did a mighty fine job of it). Thanks for all you've done for me on gamespot Rad, making sigs and stuff, just chattin about whatever... it's all good.
Nintendo_Man: It's great to have a fellow Australian leading one of the unions I'm apart of. NM does a great job as the current leader of The Nintendo Players Union. He knows where to get all the good info and sometimes gives me a heads-up when some good deals are happenin down under ![]()
Yearofthesnake5: This dudes a freakin legend, he's done so much for The Nintendo Reviewers Union. Always writing articles, mass inviting etc. He's made my job as leader so much easier, thanks heaps man.
lebanese_boy: I haven't been talkin to LB as much anymore as I haven't been around The Nintendo Online Community as much... I'm not sure if he knows this but when I first came to gamespot I used LB as my 'mentor' sorta, lol. I thought of him as a great leader of the union I was most active in back then. He's a great dude too, and he's not too bad at MKDS either ![]()
slinky6: Slinky's alot of fun, I've played MKDS with him a few times which is always good for a challenge. He's been an officer in both my unions which is great and shows how hard he works for something that isn't such an important thing. He's a great dude...
Ah well there you go, thanks for everything people.
As some of you may be aware I made a promise to myself not to buy any games till the 20th of September (my birthday and release of Super Paper Mario in AUS). I did this pretty much because I've been spending all my money on games recently, such as Resident Evil 4 and Guitar Hero II.
Anyway, my first purchase since my promise (which i made on the date of my last blog post)was a digital camera. This one to be exact ![]()
For all those people out there interested in photography it's a Nikon S50, has 7.2 megapixels and 10x optical zoom. The optical zoom is all internal which means when your zooming in the lenses dont go out from the camera.
Pretty cool huh ![]()
Cya round.
I thought I'd give in to Guitar Hero's popularity so I bought Guitar Hero II today. Gotta say it's an awesome game, I'm pretty damn bad at it though. I guess I'll get better
There are some awesome songs on the game and it's good fun playing it. Once you get into the rythm it feels good
I suggest you buy it if you haven't already. I just wanted to try it out before it came out on the Wii.
I also bought Resident Evil 4 for the Wii a week or two ago, actually haven't played it yet so Guitar Hero and RE4 should keep me quite busy for a while! So busy in fact that I'm not buying any games till 20th September this year, which is the release date of Super Paper Mario here in Oz and also my birthday! I'll probaby buy a VC game or two by then but apart from that no Wii, DS or PS2 games! Until 20th of September anyway...how's that for an oath!
In other news...I got my emblem for watching Microsofts E3 conference today which I guess is good. Bit late but it's better late than never! Thanks to the techies for getting onto that one ![]()
Thanks people, cya round.
Haven't had a blog post in a while so I thought I might keep you posted with what's happenin. Yesterday I passed level 21, which means, you guessed it I'm at level 22 now. Fascinating stuff huh!
I also postedmy firstvideo giving me the public access emblem. It's a video of the game'No more Heroes' coming out on the Wii sometime soon. I could see this game crash much in the same way Red Steel did, showing some promise only to release with a game that some with love but many will hate.
But now to the main part of my post, E3. This was my first E3 at gamespot as you can see and it was a pretty show I thought. I watched the Microsoft and Nintendo conferences live (only recieved one emblem though...) and I thought they were both great. I thought Nintendo could've done a bit more to show off the VC like Microsoft did with their Xbox Live Arcade service. Microsoftalso announced the Elite was coming to Europe which hopefully means Australia won't be far behind ![]()
Of course I only have a Wii so the games shown at E3 were decent but we knew most of the info about them already, Brawl, Metroid and Galaxy are almost garunteed to be some awesome games but I was also interested in Mario Kart Wii and Soul Calibur Wii which will hopefully prove to be just as good as the big 3 (Brawl, Galaxy, MP3).
And if you were wondering, my shoes came in the mail and yes, they're awesome. ![]()
I'm not sure how many of you know but I'm a big basketball fan. A big fan for an Australian anyway as we're not big on basketball down here. Anyway I'm sure you'll know that a big part of basketball culture is the shoes you wear, thats the part I love best. Anyway I thought I'd show you my most recent purchase from ebay. I stayed up till 1:30am bidding for these, and it was worth it considering the amount of money I payed for em... $77.00 including postage. Check em out!

They're Air Jordan I retro's. Pretty cool huh! And they're orange!
Hope you like em!
This is what's happening this week in the life of meesey01! (Good intro huh!
) This week I'm going on work experience as part of every year 10 in my schools' curriculum. I'll be going to a graphic design firm hopefully to focus on furniture design. It should be fun. I'll take the train every morning down there with the bloke that lives above my dad (we live in an apartment in the city), he's a good guy and it should be fun working with him.
I'll be making $20 a day which isn't much but they must provide us with some income so it's not illegal. Some of my friends aregetting $5 or $6 a day so I'm not too worried about that. We all know that $20 x 5 working days = $100... About the price of a Wii game in Australia, so I might get Resident Evil 4 when it comes out in Aus ( July 5th).
I'm looking forward to this week but I'll have longer hours than school days (9am-5pm) which means I may be a touch less active, I got holidays for 2 weeks after that though so I'll make a strong comeback to gamespot.com. I hope to keep in touch with you people and if I can get some of my work on a memory stick or something I might show it to you all!
In other news I bought my favourite wii game so far (apart from Zelda: TP), Mario Strikers! It's an awesome game and I recommend all Wii owners to buy it, if anyone already has it here's my friend code:
167607-018321.
Make sure you PM me if you've added me! Sorry to cut this post short but I gotta go to work, cya round!
Thanks people!
