  Babysitting Sheva?

  Back again for a short one(well that's what I hope anyway)about Resi5. Most of the complaints I've heard about the new(ish) demohave centred on the controls and the old "why can't you move AND shoot" argument-but we knew what to expect wth that and, tbh they are just part of the series no matter what you say/like.

  However, my problem is the co-op. Not the online co-op as that works fabulously and not even the splitscreen co-p which works ok too. No my problem is with the fact I'm forced to do the SP campaign with Sheva as a co-op with an AI partner I don't want. Firstly she just shouldn't be there-this is RE where I like to think I'm gonna be alone and scared at least some of the time(O know we had to put up with Ashley last time but after we made ourselves clear about how we all felt about her nearly killing one of the best last gen games you'd have thought Capcom would have left it out this time and not, instead, make us have to worry about her inventory as well as ours). Secondly, as the inventory system is even less wieldy this time out having to do two is just frustrating and means immersion os a sad joke. Thirdly she gets in my way, all the time. She just does. Fopurth, she just seems to select her victims at random woth no notice taken of what you are doing or who you are shooting at/tunnong from etc, etc.

  Now, I could easily go on and on about how she gets on my gaming **** more than anything ever but you get the picture(I pray).Did Capcom feel the AI was better than it is? Or, and I think this is prolly truer, did they get so caught up in the "isn't co-op just the thing this season" fashion stakes that they built the game around the online co-op and damn anyone who either likes SP or doesn't have a decent broadband connection? I still think that, and bear in mind I feel the online co-op is the best I've ever played so far, survival horror is best done alone, at night, lights off and sound up just so you have the chance of being, like, scared once or twice. Dead Space did it pretty well but a RE title should be better at this and RE5 isn't. Babysitting old big **** is an exercise in frustration that I don't reckon anyone would really prefer to a good single SP-and if they weren't also caught up in the trendiness of co-op they might say so(or if they could stop moaning about control schemes).

  Anyway, that's what I think and sadly I'm stuck with Sheva and after playing it through with a friend(when the time comes)what possible reason(don't say trophies as I don't care)wil there be to do it as a single babysitter? None-it's exactly the same story. No for me they might have made a cool co-op game but it just isn't a Resident Evil game at all.

  I dunno why but finally I feel the need that itches others to do this daily-though in a shy and diluted form. I go into this feeling like someone giving to a sperm clinic fearing that their previous lifestyle has left them spermless.

  Anyway, of late the fanboy war seems to have been rearing it's ugly head again and it's one of the things that gets on my little **** Having a PS£, Wii and a gaming PC AND after having seven 360s I don't think I can easily be called out as a fanboy(I'd love to still have a 360 but after the seventh death it was clear we cant/dont get on too well and I'll miss Gears2-until it gets a PC releae one day at least)but the other day over at N4G sometyhing rather weird happened. It was comments about the upcoming release of Fallout3 on multi platform and whether it had really been gimped on PS3 or was it still worth playing etc. One guy who I replied to said he was disgusted that PS3 was getting the **** end of the stick so to speak and bemoaned Bethesda for this(I think the extra DLC for Xbox upset him-but that's no biggie to me as I'll be happier with the PS version just cos I like the controller better(horses for courses that argument anyway))and said they were 360biased. i pointed out that out of the two console Oblivions(qwhich I'd played both of)the PS was the best so Bethesda could hardly be anti PS could they?

  So, apparantly, for this stance, I'm now a 360 Xbot! The one console I no longer ownwhich I'd tols him as well. It just shows the lack of logic people apply when they get heated in their fanboy panties. I do have a gripe after all the malfunctioning hardware M$ sold me and feel they sell gamers short by giving us a console unfit to cope with many real world environments(or in my case mild english spring days)just to have a next gen console out first, damn the gamers and poach Sony devs. I honestly never thought I'd feel Sony were a more cuddly company than anyone!! But noow thatI'm an Xbot I dunnop what to do with myself. Is the guy right and I'm living in denial and really would prefer a 360 dominated world and haveonly bought PC, PS and wii to infiltrate and cause them damage "from the inside"? i doubt it but just maybe it's me going mad. I must have hated all those MGS hours, all that Warhawk time and simply deluded myself thatUncharted and R7C were graphically great as well as being cracking individual games.

  Seriously, though, I was offended. Offended more so that he'd say something like that to anyone with no evidence or logic supporting his position. Since I've noticed even more creeping out with trolls breeding exponentially on these forums all of them with a read made and unshakable belief in whatever the hjear/read themself saying. I just pray nobody else gives evenhalf a monkeys about it all though. Oh well off for some UT3 purgatory on PSN now-I'll hate every minute even more for forcing myself to live with a PS3.
